Acrobat XI won't launch
Downloaded acrobat xi successfully on my new pc (windows 8) but it won't launch, error 213:19. I previously installed and used it on my old pc successfully. I was thinking it might be a registration issue, so I just registered my Acrobat, but still no launch. Any ideas?
Hi Screenjolie,
Please refer to the following help document on Error code: 213:19 while installing Acrobat XI.

Hope this helps.
Please if you face any problem.

Acrobat X won't launch even after following all posted solutions
I have a licensed academic version of CS6 running on a win 8.1 64 bit computer. The software has been installed for < 1 week and was licensed immediately. Acrobat X won't launch. It shows me the window with a large screenshot of what I was previously looking at. I then have to crash out of it. I tried deactivating and reactivitating it last night and it worked fine. One solution also said to update the software. So I did. Now it won't work again. I tried the following solutions:
1) Run the patch in windows
2) Run the acrofix patch through cmd
3) Deactivate/reactivate
4) Update software again (no new updates anyway)
5) Look for and change name of cache.db (no such file)
What can I do? This is a huge hinderance to my work. Thanks! The software has been fully activated including getting my serial number through registration of an academic account, activating my online account, and activating the account. There are, as far as I can tell, no further things that I need to do. By reinstalling the software I was able to get Acrobat to work again, but I am afraid now that I won't be able to run any updates.

Acrobat CS4 won't launch because of Air error
When I try to launch Acrobat CS4 on a Windows XP computer a window pops up saying Adobe AIR needs to update first, so I let it update but when it finishes the process I get an error message saying "This application cannot be installed because this installer has been mis-configured. Please contact the application author for assistance." I have tried uninstalling AIR then downloading and installing the latest version from Adobe's site but it still tries to update when I run Acrobat and it still locks up with the same error message. I've checked and I do have all the latest updates for Acrobat installed and I've definietely got the latest version of AIR... I've even run a uninstall clean up utility from microsoft just to make sure I've removed all old instances of AIR but nothing seems to help. Does anyone have any ideas?
Some info would be needed ...
OS/CPU/GPU/RAM is always good ... and then the specific version of PrPro you're using, whether you've been running and this suddenly occurred, or if this is the first time you've tried to use the program after installation ... that sort of thing.

Multiple instances of Acrobat X won´t launch
Hi All,
Recently when I have opened a PDF from a map on my pc, I cannot open a PDF from Firefox/Internet Explorer/Outlook anymore.
I still can open as many PDF´s as I want from any map on my PC.
For every instance I tried to open a PDF from Firefox/Internet Explorer/Outlook, I get the Fatal error message: 'Adobe failed to connect to a dde server'
If I haven´t opened any PDF´s yet, I can open the PDF from Firefox/Internet Explorer/Outlook. And I can open as many as I want. I even can open PDF's from any location on my computer. But the other way around is not possible.
Does anyone have a solution???
Best,
Robbert

Acrobat won't launch after update
Dear Experts,
I have a very urgent problem to solve.
I am currently running ADOBE Creative Suit 6 Design Standard on my desktop.
It includes an Acrobat. I've using Acrobat for months everything's normal untill there's an update (detail of the update please refer to:http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/release-note/release-notes-acrobat-reader.html"). i installed it and acrobat never launch again.
So I uninstall the Acrobat and install again from the CS6 Design Std DVD and it worked again. I did this back and forth trying to fixed the problem. And i decided not to update any more. And it's working in the older version Adove Acrobat X Pro 10.1.1 . it worked for a couple of weeks, and it won't launch again. Please, help.
System environment:
Windows 7 Enterprise Service pack 1, Hardware: standard Desktop "HP Compaq 8200 Elite Convertible Minitower" with Intel Core i5-2400 Processor, @3.10GHz, 8GB RAM 64-bit OS.
Current location: Guangdong, China. Language environment: OS is in English, Software is in English, but we sometimes need to deal with Chinese language.
PS: Adobe Reader X works well, with mutil-language support.Hi MacFisher,
Can you please try the following:

Acrobat Pro 9 for mac won't launch, reloaded from disk when hard drive needed to be replace. It's in applications folder but there is an X on the Acrobat Reinstall icon. What should I do.
Hi Janice,
What version of Mac OS are you using?
Adobe does not recommend migrating the software from one disk to the other.
Please run the setup file for Acrobat and reinstall the software. You might want to delete the existing version of Acrobat installed before reinstalling it.

Acrobat Pro 7 Suddenly Won't launch
I'm trying to print a PDF I made last week, and Acrobat Pro 7 won't launch. I get the standard "The application Acrobat quit unexpectedly." message - no codes like some others I've seen. I'm planning to upgrade to CS4 in January, but I have to get work done NOW!
Any help is appreciated. My permissions have been repaired. Still not launching, but it does pretend for about 30 seconds before I get them window.
As for preferences, where the heck are they hiding? OS X doesn't make that search easy. I have a lot of preference files related to Adobe, and four for Acrobat. I have removed each one, tried to boot Acrobat, and after failing put the file back.
I'm surprised that there is nothing addressing this item in the knowledgebase. -
Apologies if this is in the wrong community area - I was unsure where it belongs.
This is an intermittent issue, but does happen several times a day.
Regardless of what method is used to launch Acrobat (double-clicking a PDF, clicking the shortcut in the taskbar, selecting Acrobat from the start menu), often the application won't launch. Upon investigation, task manager shows multiple instances of Acrobat.exe, although the application is not running (see the image below). Ending all Acrobat.exe processes does allow Acrobat to launch.
Any thoughts as to what might be causing this, as well as a more permanent fix? The workaround of constantly ending multiple processes is becoming cumbersome.
We are running Acrobat X Pro in Windows 7. I also have several CC 2014 apps installed (as well as a couple of earlier versions required for plugin functionality). This happens all the time in my company with several installs of Acrobat.
The only way to fix this for us is to end each process in Task Manager as you have pointed out.
It is very time consuming in our workflow as we each operator deals with hundreds of PDFs daily, and has to do this End Process procedure several times a day.
We have done several tests and nothing seems to stop this from happening. -
Acrobat Update 8.2.3, Illustrator CS2 won't launch.
Updater updated Acrobat to 8.2.3 this morning, now Illustrator CS2 won't launch. Illustrator crashes during launch - seems to get past initializing plug-ins then.....
@AlllForumMembers: Is this a generic problem experienced by all users who have Acrobat 8 and Ilustrator Cs2? I know someone who has the same combination and it is working well for him.
@amwilke: Does reinstaling CS2 help? -

OSX 10.5.5
Intel Quad Core Tower, 8GB Ram
Currently installed: CS3.3 Master Collection
I am trying to reinstall Acrobat 8 from my Master Collection 3 disc, and Setup won't launch. I've also tried Utilities:Add or Remove Adobe Creative Suite 3 Master Collection, and it won't launch either.
I've tried the standard solutions: fix file permissions, install from admin account and new user account, uninstalled CS4 Beta applications. Nothing has helped.
Adobe technical support has been no help. I've been on the phone with them for two hours this morning.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!BRIAN, HERE'S WHAT WORKED FOR ME, BUT I WAS USING WINDOWS XP PROFESSIONAL, NOT A MAC SYSTEM. STILL MAYBE IT MAY BE OF HELP.
I had problems uninstalling and reinstalling my Adobe Master Collection CS3. The problem being that the installer would run and then disappear without initiating the uninstall/installation process.
Here are the simple combination of steps which worked for me.
1/ removing Adobe Master Collection CS3 by running add/remove programs
2/ running the Adobe CS3 clean script. I'm almost 100% certain I chose option 1 when running the script http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cs3clean.html
3/ out of desperation and realising I had nothing to loose because I had an image of the fairly newly configured hard drive I was using, I deleted the Adobe "Installers" Folder located inside the Adobe folder at C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe
Steps 1 and 2 above did not solve my problem.
Step 3 did solve my problem. However, I do not know if step 1 and/or 2 were required for step 3 to work.
GOOD LUCK :-)
PS. Please let users of this site know if this solution has worked for you ...and if so, pass the solution on elsewhere too. -
I have Adobe 9 standard (9.4). I have been using it for several years. Suddenly, it won't launch. Attempting to launch it results in several error messages: "missing file C:\dell\N878J"", Missing "Acrodist.exe"' and Adobe XMP.dll is missing.
Since this program was pre-installed, I do not have recource to the installation disk. I was going to install a trial verson of Acrobat Pro XI but i cannot uninstall the older Acrobat 9--which is required, according to the Acrobat XI installer.
I tried Acrofix. It returned a 07 error code.
Can you tell me where to get copies of the missing files? or how to either reinstall or remove the older Acrobat 9.4--there is no installer or uninstaller in the Acrobat 9 file.
Thanks.
W. Decker
[email protected]I recommend the Acrobat forums. CreatePDF is something quite different. You should also contact the PC supplier for your install disk, it's their job to provide it to you. Good luck!
