Acrobat XL Pro Upgrade
I had XL standard on my laptop. i just purchased XL Pro to upgrade and im getting this message at startup "Serial Number you provided is valid, but a qualifying product could not be found on this computer.

You need to select "Acrobat X standard" from the list and then enter the serial number for Acrobat X Standard in the space provided.

I originally bought Acrobat 9 and later upgraded to Acrobat 10 pro. My computer crashed and I am trying to re-install Acrobat 10 pro. I have serial numbers for Acrobat 9 and an Acrobat 10 pro upgrade. What do I do?

Please download Acrobat X Pro from the link below.

Install the software and when prompted for the previous version qualifying product, select Acrobat 9 and enter the serial key of Acrobat 9.
This should install and activate Acrobat X Pro on the machine.

Acrobat XI Pro Upgrade Issue Recognizing Serial Number for Acrobat X Pro
I purchased Acrobat XI pro upgrade yesterday, was able to install, deactivate Acrobat X pro. Now however, it is rejecting the serial number for Acrobat X pro and I can't use the program. Please help!!

Acrobat 9 Pro upgrade installation on new PC

I've installed Acrobat 9 Pro on my new PC using the serial number I received when I bought it in 2010.
However, as part of the installation process, I'm now being asked for the serial number for the original product that this one was an upgrade for. I don't have that, as I bought it in 2008.

The buying guide for the XI Pro Upgrade (here - Buying guide | Adobe Acrobat XI Pro) does not list Adobe XI Standard in the left hand column... but I currently have XI Standard and want to to go XI Pro, will this work?

There is no such policy to upgrade license from Acrobat XI Standard to Acrobat XI Pro.
If you have the subscription for the Standard version ,you need to get that cancelled and get a new subscription for Acrobat Pro.
If you have the retail version or if you have purchased the software ,you can return that and get a new retail version for Acrobat XI Pro.

I have Acrobat X Standard and have purchased Acrobat X Pro but when I try to install I get the message "Setup has detected that you already have a more functional productinstalled. Setup will now terminate."
Uninstall it, run the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool try again.

If I get an upgrade for my version 8 Acrobat Pro, does it confirm the original version from my installed licensed version or do I need my original CD?
You don't need your original disk at all. Just your version 8 serial number.
If you install Acrobat XI upgrade on a computer with v.8 already installed then v.8 should be detected by the XI installer.
If you install Acrobat XI upgrade on a computer with no Adobe software installed then the installer will ask for the serial number of an earlier qualifying version. You enter your v.8 serial number and the XI upgrade installation will continue. -

The error code says I already have a "more functional program" installed, and the installation immediately aborts.
What is your operating system?
It is possible that your installed Acrobat Std is a higher version than the Acrobat Pro you are trying to install. Try uninstalling Acrobat Std before installing Pro. -

Had you installed another version of Acrobat 9 previously? If so try using the serial # from it.
If not some one else has asked a similar question I have answered today. Try the answer I gave for that question.

Acrobat 9 Pro shutting down after install
I just purchased Acrobat 9 Pro upgrade. The install goes smoothly. However, when I go to open up the program, it opens and then shuts down. I have tried reinstalling after unstalling and still have the same problems. Does anyone have any suggestions? I need to get to open several pdfs and I can't.
