Acrobato Pro 6 fails upgrade to 6.0.1 - PreFlightLib.dll

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to upgrade an Acrobat Pro 6.0.0 to 6.0.1 (manual upgrade).
The problem happens during the "Copy new files" operations.
I receive the following error:
"Error 1334. The file 'PreFlightLib.dll1' cannot be installed because the file cannot be found in cabinet file 'Data1.cab'. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the cd-rom, or a problem with this package.'
The package is a simple .exe file, so i can't verify if the problem is on the package itself, but i've tried installing keeping the original installer in the cd drive and i've checked it contained a Data1.cab and that the data1.cab has the PreFlightLib.dll1 inside.
Everything seems ok, but the installer doesn't work...
The file preflightlib.dll is also present in folder \Programmi\Adobe\Acrobat 6.0\Acrobat\Plug_ins\Preflight
There is no PreFlightLib.dll1 though , and i've also tried copying it into the folder.
I've also tried rebooting the pc in case i had some Acrobat file in use.
The pc is an AMD Athlon 64 processor 3200+, OS Windows XP Pro sp2
Can't find any log files about the installation and the event viewer doesn't report anything more than the installer...
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Funny, I just had the same exact problem yesterday and found your post.. I thought it was because I was running this with Windows 7.  Same scenario though, the preflightLib file is on the disc and no matter what I do it wont proceed with the updates.  I was looking to do the updates to correct the other issue of the Adobe 6.0 Pro not being able to locate a printer during the installation.. Again, figured this had something to do with Windows 7.  My other computers had no problem in the past with Vista, XP and older versions of Windows.

My Acrobat 8 Pro is failing to print to a pdf from multiple software.  I get an error message that a repair fixes but only for a little while.  Pretty soon the trial version of 9 that I installed pops up telling me it has expired but it would take me to a way to buy a valid serial number and then 8 stops working again.  I’d be happy if the 8 I paid for worked right or I could get 9 for a small cost but I cannot afford $450 or $20/month.  I need a permanent solution that I should be already paid for with 8 pro.

After multiple repair procedures with reboot in AA8 I was eventually able to restore the printing to pdf function from various software.  However I have again lost my Acrobat tab in Outlook 2007.  I need that back, but today an even bigger problem arose.  AA8 has stopped printing to fax.  It faxes a blank page.  The only fax printing option is “Microsoft Shared Fax Driver”.  My fax software is “Windows Fax and Scan” and it was working fine just a couple weeks ago.  My OS is Windows 7 Professional.
I have tried doing the updates you referred to but I get error messages like these:
“No qualifying products found to apply this update, or update has been already applied”
    or
“The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing , or the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program.  Verify that the program to be upgraded exists on your computer and that you have the correct upgrade patch.”

  • Acrobat XI Pro installation failed

    MacBook Pro 13" Retina
    OSX 10.8.5
    3 GHz Intel Core i7
    8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
    Used Akamai NetSession Interface.
Downloaded from Adobe website. After download, clicked on installer, entered serial number, quickly went through installing until right at the end: "THE INSTALLATION FAILED: Installer encountered an error that caused installation to fail. Contact manufacturer." Part of the message cut-off abruptly.
Then, it appeared that the installation did occur but when I opened the software the interface didn't look "smooth." Then almost immediately software update stated Acrobat XI Pro 11.0.04 was available for download, but computer wouldn't allow it to be installed citing error on initial problem. I uninstalled XI Pro and tried to download again from Adobe website but the window instantly opened for Akamai and said download complete. The same problem occured when I tried to install again, with the same error message.

    Thank you Anish.
The software now appears to be working for some reason, and even though Error 1301 appeared when trying to update to Acrobat 11.0.04, it shows that I am running 11.0.04. There is something going on in there but so far so good.

Remove the drive and put it in an external enclosure. Backup the drive completely. Repartition and format the drive. Replace the drive into the computer. Take the computer in for the logicboard replacement.

  • Acrobat X Pro Install Fails OS 10.7.4

    Hello,
On a new installation of CS6 D&W Premium, on Mac OSX (10.7.4) Everything seems to install except Acrobat, and I am left with the following after installation.
    Exit Code: 6
Please see specific errors and warnings below for troubleshooting. For example,  ERROR: DW006, DW050 ...

Despite the above error, the application is in the APP folder and starts with no errors.  Recently an update became available to Acrobat X Pro and the Update will not install -- it says that Acrobat has been modified since its original installation.
Any ideas what might be going on here?
    Thanks for looking!

Restart with the Option key held down and use Lion's recovery partition to install onto that drive. Alternatively, clone your existing system to that drive, run DiskWarrior on the clone, restart from the clone, and use DiskWarrior to repair the internal drive.

  • HT1338 My desktop Pro won't upgrade from it's current format of 10.5.8 it just states up to date software?

My desktop Pro won't upgrade from it's current format of 10.5.8 it just states up to date software? Please advise my course of action!

The first step in Upgrading... is to Snow Leopard = OS X 10.6.x
It is Not available as a download... It is a Paid Upgrade.
    Do this first...
Check that your Mac meets the System Requirements for Snow Leopard...
    Snow Leopard Tech Specs
    http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575
If so... Purchase a Snow Leopard Install Disc...
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
    Other countries...
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57
After the Successful Install, run Software Update to get the latest updates for Snow Leopard.
Be sure to make a Backup of your Current System Before Upgrading...

  • Where I can find Logic pro 7.1 upgrade

I acquired Logic pro 7 software, which I use on PPC G4 computer with Pro Tools Mix++ system. I would like to find 7.1 upgrade. This was actualy free upgrade, Apple sold it for 20$ on DVD (shipping costs).

Indeed.. It was a paid update that was only available from Apple directly and Apple have now ceased selling it...
However, I did locate a Logic 6-7 upgrade which is actually an upgrade from Logic Pro 6 to Logic Pro 7.1.... though i have no idea what it would do if you tried to use it to upgrade from 7.0...
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/APPLE-PRO-LOGIC-7-UPGRADE-SOFTWARE-NEW-M9667Z-A-7-1-/370 832497211?pt=US_Image_Video_Audio_Software&hash=item565756da3b
Other than that, after a brief search around.. I didn't find a real 7.0 to 7.1 upgrade package anywhere and I know one of my clients took almost 8 months of looking about 18 months ago... before he located one himself... and he had to pay almost $100 for his..so be prepared for a wait and pay above the original pricing...
Might be better to upgrade to Logic Pro 8..... if your hardware supports it?

Adobe applications should be installed, not transferred.  If yoiu have the disks then yes, use them.  IF you do not you can download from:

  • HT201364 My Mac Pro will not upgrade past 10.7.5 Now what?

My Mac Pro will not upgrade past 10.7.5 Now what?

No, it is not possible. I have an early model, too, that now sits in a corner. I replaced it at the time with a mid-2011 iMac. The only less expensive route than a new computer is a used/refurbished model, but were you to go that route stick to a 2009 or later model MP.
Surely your business can afford £2500 for a necessary asset. It's depreciable for tax purposes if your tax system allows that. Just ask yourself how much it would cost your business if you did not have a computer. And, consider, if you really need to get a new computer assuming the one you have is still working. Keep it and start putting away enough from your business revenue to buy a new computer later. It's a required part of business planning.

  • Since installing Premiere Pro CC 2014 upgrade, Mac Pro jumpy video and freezes constantly

Since installing Premiere Pro CC 2014 upgrade, Mac Pro jumpy video and freezes constantly. Worked perfectly before. Anyone else finding these issues? I'm running a quad core Mac Pro, so it's definitely not the hardware.

I've maxed out the memory assignment, but this isn't a memory problem per se.
It looks like certain Premiere Pro conditions are associated with a huge increase in kernel_task memory, zeroing out any available free memory.  In my case it seems to be associated with effects applied to titles or jpgs  or imported psd (Photoshop) files.
Program restart pulls kernel memory back to the 1.3gb normal size.
Here's where I am at startup:
