AcroForm FDF Template functionality broken by updates

We have many cases where we build an FDF file that went sent to the browser causes a PDF to be assembled (and form fields filled in) from multiple PDFs containing acroForm templates. Each time an Acrobat patch is applied by my company, this functionality is broken. While broken, the PDF is still assembled but all of the form fields are blank. FDFs that do not rely on templates and simply fill in a standard acroForm work fine. Also, the template based PDF technology still works if loaded into Acrobat OUTSIDE the browser, it is only broken in the browser. This tells me that the FDF is constructed correctly.
To fix the problem we must run a repair from within Acrobat on each client machine to restore the functionality. However, version 9.3.4 appears to be the nail in the coffin and a repair will no longer fix the problem.
Has Adobe dropped support for this functionality? I know this is the 'old' way of doing things but it will be a massive task to update all of our forms.

Was this issue ever resolved?
I see similar behaviour with an FDF I hand crank.
On my XP machine with Adobe Reader 9.4, the PDF opens empty.
On my other XP machine (also on a Vista box and a Windows 7 box) with Adobe Reader 9.0, everything is good to go.
Is there a 'patch' available for 9.4?
Or am I missing something here?
Any ideas?

Search function broken after update

Just downloaded the new Mavericks (10.9.3) and iTunes 11.2. The regular search function in iTunes still works (when you type in the box and it narrows down your results). I am talking about when you just type some letters in your keyboard and it jumps to the relevant place in your iTunes library (just like in Finder or anywhere else lists are involved). The problem is only in "Albums" view and still works absoutely fine everywhere else in iTunes and on my mac, as far as I can tell.
My problem is that it now jumps to the wrong place. For example I was at the top of my iTunes, i.e. with artists beginning with 'A'. I pressed 'h' to jump to artists beginning with 'H' and it instead jumped to 'P' artists. Similar things happen whichever letters I press, i.e. it also happens when I type in a group of letters (e.g. 'rammst' instead of 'r'). It just always jumps to some other letter different from the one I wanted.
Moreover there was a weird pattern involved; starting at 'A', I pressed 'h' repeatedly. It jumped to 'P', then 'B', then 'O', then 'C', then 'N', then 'D', then 'M' etc. i.e. it alternately jumps upwards from the lower letters and downwards from the upper letters. Weird! Note that although this is the trend, it is not jumping specifically to these letters, it is jumping up (or down respectively) a screen's-worth of albums each time. It just happens that each letter of the alphabet corresponds to about a screen's-worth of albums for me. Sorry if this is hard to understand, please ask for clarification if so!

You are in Artists view?
What is the Artists name as shown in iTunes?
And right click - get info, click the Sorting tab and look at the Sort Artist field.
What is the artist name in the Sort Artist field?
Probably the P artist it jumped to has an H in the beginning of the Sort Artist field.

Yes you are correct, I TRY THE Modify -> Templates -> Detach from Template. I have built over 50 websites with this method using Modify -> Templates -> Detach from Template in DW CS5.5
After a save a page to a template for future ref.
I create a new page using this temp. but can not use the Modify -> Templates -> Detach from Template. The Detach from Template is not functional. It is there but when I mouse over its not operative.
Does DW CC need update maybe.

Print Module templates layouts do not update on the fly

Print layouts do not update on the fly when attempting to choose between various Print Module>Template Browser> Lightroom or User templates. This occurs in all three Layout Styles. The very first layout chosen in Single Image/Contact Sheet, Picture Package, or Custom Package is the permanent 'default' and cannot be changed. The Preview will show as expected however any image stays stuck in the very first layout I chose after installing LR4 beta.
For example, I first chose Template Browser>Lightroom Templates>Maximum Size, and Layout Style>Single Image/Contact Sheet. Clicking through any other Templates (Lightroom or User defined) will alter the preview but not the layout display in the Print window. Same problem in either of the other Layout styles. I have been trying for days to rectify this, but it seems somehow more difficult than LR3. and not what I expect.
As a comparison, using the same steps in LR3 works perfectly as all print template/layouts can be changed on the fly as expected. I have no problems generating different layouts in LR3 and have been using LR print module since version 1 without this issue.
Is this a bug or are there any extra steps or workarounds I have not discovered? Any other testers seen this?

Update with more info. What am I doing wrong, if anything?

The steps as follows:
1) Lightroom 3.6 & LR4Beta exist side by side.
2) LR4 Beta> Print Module;
3) From filmstrip choose image;
4) Template Browser> Lightroom4Beta Templates>Maximum Size;
5) Preview displays as expected;
6) Layout Styles>Single Image/Contact Sheets
7) Template Browser> Lightroom4Beta Templates>click through any other templates (Lightroom or User defined);
8) Image layout in main window does not update;
9) Previews update;
10) Layout Style>Picture Package;
11) Template Browser>Maximum size is then automatically shown, however the template in the main window is actually (1) 7x5, (2) 2.5x3.5;
12) Any further attempts to change the layouts regardless of Style Layout choices are not successful.
13) Close LR4Beta>re-open LR4Beta;
14) Repeat test;
15) Print Module layouts do not update on the fly as expected;
16) Close LR4Beta and all applications;
17) Reboot iMac.
18) Open LR4Beta only;
19) LR4Beta>Print Module>Template Browser >Lightroom Templates>Maximum Size;
20) Image displays in main layout window with Template and Preview display as expected;
21) Choose different image>Template Browser>Lightroom Templates>Maximum Size;
22) Click through templates, layouts DO NOT update in main window although previews do automatically update.
23) CONCLUSION - In Lightroom 4 Beta>Print Module>Template Browser, image layouts do not change after initial choice as expected.

Function module with UPDATE TASK

All,
Have a look at the below code. While debugging the control is not going inside the function module called using call function ...... in update task statement.
I believe the function module is not executed immediately, but is scheduled for execution in a special work process (update work process). For this purpose, the name of the function module including the passed actual parameters is stored as a log record in the database table VBLOG. If the statement is executed during the update task, the addition IN UPDATE TASK is ignored.
The actual execution is triggered by the statement COMMIT WORK which is not happening in this case. The formal parameters of the function module receive the values of the actual parameters from table VBLOG. How can I read the entries in VBLOG? Why the function module is not executed? Please suggest.

Right Naren. But I need to check inside the update function module, whether it is calling the BTE function module I had configured and the code which I had put in it. Any ideas?
The COMMIT WORK is returning 4 and hence I believe it is not popping up another debuggin session in which the update FM runs.

I am sending the requirement for ceation of function module for updating the ztable.
Requirement----
Table Updation rule (New record)
While creating a new record the calling function will export the following to the table handling function.
Table field     Probable Values

or you need to write FM only for validation?
Any how, you need to create a Program with Input values for the fields of Ztable, and for rest of fields the Value can be calculated based on input as per your requirement.

How to debug function module in update task ?

Inside this function module i have some code to debug . How can i debug it ?
I put the breakpoint in it but its not working .
It is triggered on save of a tcode .

My home-grown method:
Set your breakpoint in the FM.
In your transaction, just before you press save, enter hobble mode in your command box with '/h'.
press save.
In your first debug screen, toggle settings>system debugging ON (NetWeaver Drop-down menu) or see previous notes for earlier WebAS versions.
Select continue (F8).
The program should then stop at your break-point in the FM.

Dreamweaver template function

I'm working on a site as a favor. I never worked with the
template function, and just started playing with it. I made a
template of the site www.negmsc.com. Then, when I create another
page based off of that template, it looks fine in Dreamweaver but
when I do a preview in IE, it seems like it's missing a .css file.
Any ideas?

That file is not the child page of a DW template.

What is the difference between
1. A function module calling in 'update task'( if attributes not set for update mode).
2.A function module's attributes set to update mode, but while calling not specified 'Update task'.

Function module In Update Task is called more than once

Hi experts!!
I had a requirement to Create a Customer ( i will call it B) when another Customer (A) is created (ON SAVE).
I used a Badi to implement the requirement, and inside my Badi i have 2 Function Calls in Update Task.
The first one to create Customer B and the second one to send Customer's B data to another System.
Even though the second function call is inside an IF-ENDIF condition ( so that only Customer's B data are sent) the function is called twice sending the same data. My guess is that since the First Function saves the Customer to the database, that is the reason why the second Function is called twice.
Is there any way i can control how many times a Function In Update Task is called????

I tried your suggestion but even if i fill the flag during the first call the function is called twice. Looks like during the second database commit the function is called with the correct conditions met but twice.
Also while debugging it looks like it is only called once. It s very strange!
Any other ideas???

This statement registers the update function module specified in update_function. update_function must be a character-type field, which during execution of the statement contains the name of an update function module in uppercase letters.
An update function module is a function module, for which in the Function Builder the property update module is marked. The registration of an update function module is an essential part of the update task.
The function module is not executed immediately, but is scheduled for execution in a special work process (update work process). For this purpose, the name of the function module including the passed actual parameters is stored as a log record in the database table VBLOG. If the statement is executed during the update task, the addition IN UPDATE TASK is ignored.

The main update technique for bundling database changes in a single database LUW is to use CALL FUNCTION... IN UPDATE TASK.
How do we Use ??
A typical R/3 installation contains dialog work processes and at least one update work process. The update work processes are responsible for updating the database. When an ABAP program reaches a COMMIT WORK statement, any function modules from CALL FUNCTION... IN UPDATE TASK statements are released for processing in an update work process. The dialog process does not wait for the update to finish. This kind of update is called asynchronous update.
What is the Use... ??
Asynchronous update is useful when response time from the transaction is critical, and the database updates themselves are so complex that they justify the extra system load
Real time scenario.
Suppose a user wants to change an entry in a database table, or add a new one. He or she enters the necessary data, and then starts the update process by choosing Save. This starts the following procedure in the ABAP program:
Firstly, the program locks the database entry against other users, using the enqueue work process (or the message server in the case of a distributed system). This generates an entry in the lock table. The user is informed whether the update was successful, or whether the lock could not be set because of other users.
If the lock is set, the program reads the entry that is to be changed and modifies it. If the user has created a new entry, the program checks whether a record with the same key values already exists.
In the current dialog work process, the program calls a function module using CALL FUNCTION... IN UPDATE TASK, and this writes the change details as an entry in table VBLOG.
When the program is finished (maybe after further dialog steps), a COMMIT WORK statement starts the final part of the SAP LUW. The work process that is processing the current dialog step starts an update work process.
Based on the information passed to it from the dialog work process, the update work process reads the log entries belonging to the SAP LUW from table VBLOG.
The update work process passes this data to the database for updating, and analyzes the return message from the database. If the update was successful, the update work process triggers a database commit after the last database change and deletes the log entries from table VBLOG.
If an error occurred, the update work process triggers a database rollback, leaves the log entries in table VBLOG, flags them as containing errors, and sends a SAPoffice message to the user, who should then inform the system administrator.
The corresponding entries in the lock table are reset by the update work process.

I have a function module(Zxxx) which is update type. i have called the fun.module in my program (Zyyy) using the syntax CALL FUNCTION ZXXX IN UPDATE TASK. As I suppose to debug the function module, I activated the update debugging in the debugging screen. But the controll still not goen into the function module. Please let me know solution.

What do you mean by not going?
If you are trying to do an F5 at the function call, the debugger is not "enter" into the FM. This is because at this point the function call is registered but the FM is not executed.
Update FM calls registered in a particular LUW are executed(in a special "UPD" workprocess) when there is a COMMIT encountered(may be explicit or implicit).
