AcroForm with Image button from LiveCycle

I read Ted Padova's article at:
http://www.acrobatusers.com/blogs/tedpadova/enabling-adobe-reader-users-options-importing- images-forms
and was thrilled to find out that it is possible for Reader users to import images. However, I’ve run into some problems.
I have a form originally laid out in InDesign, with form fields added in Acrobat. Then I opened the form in LiveCycle and added the Image button, just as Ted instructed. This worked fine – Except:
·         LiveCycle diabled the JavaScript in the form -- I was able to fix this by opening the form again in Acrobat and re-doing the appAlert JavaScript.
·         A button that opens the Search pane no longer works -- I need help with this -- Grateful for any ideas!
·         A set of radio buttons no longer look the same, although they still work -- I can live with this if I have to.
Is there a way to keep all the fields and JavaScript intact from the AcroForm, and still add the Image button in LiveCycle?
I’m very familiar with Acrobat, but not with LiveCycle. I’m backed into a corner with my client who expects me to do all this.

You can't mix Acrobat Forms with LiveCycle forms.

  • How do I remove old image buttons from Properties panel?

    Hi,
    I have been working out how to use Image Buttons in Captivate 6 and have created loads which now appear in the Properties Panel.
    How do I remove unused image buttons from the Properties Panel?
    Thanks

    Hi there
    When you look at the Properties panel, you see ALL available images for the buttons. (Assuming that you are referring to to the stock images supplied by Captivate)
    Is this the list you are trying to clear?
    If so, it's the same list you see with any project Captivate creates.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Problem with image returned from getGeneratedMapImage method

    I'm a newbie as far as map viewer and Java 2D goes....
    My problem is the java.awt.Image returned from the getGeneratedMapImage method of the MapViewer API. The image format is set to FORMAT_RAW_COMPRESSED. The image returned is of poor quality with colors not being correct and lines missing. I'm painting the Image returned from this method onto my own custom JComponent by overriding the paint() method...
    public void paint( Graphics g )
    Image image = map.getGeneratedMapImage();
    if ( image != null )
    g.drawImage( image, getLocation().x, getLocation().y, Color.white, this );
    If I take the xml request sent to the application server and paste it into a "sample map request" on the map admin website (along with changing format to PNG_STREAM) my image renders exactly how I expect it to.
    Anyone have any idea what I need to do to get the java.awt.Image with format set to FORMAT_RAW_COMPRESSED to render correctly. I was hoping to get back a BufferedImage or a RenderedImage from the getGeneratedMapImage call but I'm getting back a "sun.awt.motif.X11Image".
    Will downloading the JAI (java advanced imaging) from sun help me at all?

    Joao,
    Turns out it is related to colors. I'm dynamically adding themes, linear features and line styles. I ran a test where I changed the color being specified in the line style from magenta (ff00ff) to black. When I changed the color the linear feature would show up. It was being rendered as white on a white background when I was specifying it to be magenta. I'm specifying another linear feature to be green and it is showing up in the java image as yellow. This doesn't happen when I take the generated XML from the request and display it as a PNG_STREAM.
    Any clue what is going on there?
    Jen

  • Getting mouse click coordinates with image button

    I'm using ADF Rich Client components in JDeveloper 11g Technology preview.
    I have to get the mouse click coordinates with an image button. In the page I put something like this:
    <af:commandButton text="commandButton1" icon="ambiente.jpg"
    actionListener="#{prova.listen}" action="#{prova.esegui}" />
    In the listener method of the managed bean I try to get the coordinates with this code:
    public void listen(ActionEvent e)
    FacesContext context = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    String clientId = e.getComponent().getClientId(context);
    Map requestParams =
    context.getExternalContext().getRequestParameterMap();
    int x =
    new Integer((String) requestParams.get(clientId + ".x")).intValue();
    int y =
    new Integer((String) requestParams.get(clientId + ".y")).intValue();
    but it doesn't work. It seems that there aren't in the request the coordinates of the image point clicked. Is it true? How can I do that with ADF ?

    Hi,
    the mouse position is not part of the request parameters send. You will have to use client side JavaScript for this

  • IMAQ image to array vi not working with images extracted from avi file

    Hi,
      I downloaded some avi's and uncompressed them so that I can analyze them within labview. I am trying to convert images I am reading from the avi file to an array. When I use "IMAQ image to array" I get the following error " IMAQ Image To Array  Invalid image type" -1074396080.
       I am able to display each read image and save them to the hard drive, but I am unable to convert the vision image to array. I verified that the image extracted from avi is the same as the image type I created in memory to hold the image.
      Please see the attached vi I created.
    thank you

    Hi all, this thread was useful for me...but i have another doubt... when I try to extract a single plane (Luminance, Saturation, R,G,B...anyone) and try to save it in jpg as gray image, it saves an image with blue tones. I have examinated it using Matlab and checked that Red plane has low values (but not zero), the same for G plane and high values for B plane. An image of the VI is attached.
    Thanks in advance

  • Having problem with images imported from photoshop

    I am totally new to Fireworks, I am redoing a site that was done using CS2, that is GoLive, Photoshop and Image Ready. I wanted to begin familiarizing myself with Fireworks by starting with using it to make all the web images for the site (jpgs, pngs, etc). It started well but after a while I started getting strange results from FW when I imported PSD files. The PSD imports fine into FW but when I want to "preview" or do a "2-UP" and see what it looks like as a jpg or png I just get a blank image where the jpg or png is supposed to be. However if I "export" the jpg it does get exported, but I would like to preview it to see what the quality is. This doesn't happen every time but at least 50% of the time in the last 2 days, and there seems to be no rhyme or reason behind why it works with some images but not others.
    Another thing is that if I add a layer effect to the image such as "inner glow" to the PS image, and then flatten the image to make sure it gets exported to FW, it doesn't get exported. It is as if I never added the layer effect in PS.
    Any help on these two issues would be greatly appreciated and help me to continue in perservering with FW.
    VL Branko

    I don't think I've cracked open Bridge since upgrading to CS5/CS6, and I'm hesitant to start today! I'm therefore kind of assuming that you're starting with PSDs and opening them up in Fireworks. (If you're not doing this, give it a try.)
    Regarding the 50% failure of Preview and 2-Up modes, I was thinking that saving the PSDs as native Fireworks PNGs—within Fireworks—might eliminate that problem. It's hard to imagine Fireworks not previewing its own file format, but easier to imagine it failing to properly preview a PSD file. And again, perhaps File > Image Preview might work better for you.
    As far as the "inner glow" issue: 1) Be sure to add it into the PSD before importing into Fireworks, and 2) If it doesn't show up, have a look at Filters within the Properties panel for the selected object; you could try selecting Inner Glow within ‘Photoshop Live Effects’ or try out Fireworks' own native Inner Glow filter effect.
    Other than for the purpose of familiarizing yourself with Fireworks, you may want to consider why you'd use Fireworks for these graphics, if they were originally created in Photoshop. Small changes in graphic appearance are always possible when moving between applications. For example, Photoshop is color managed whereas Fireworks is not; you therefore might notice a small shift in saturation or tonality between the two applications. Whether this is a concern depends on your final output goals.

  • Problem with images disappearing from project

    I have inserted a number of images into my Robohelp 9 project topics using the Insert >> Image function.  Typically the images were stored on my hard drive on my pc, but some I pulled from a shared network drive that were prepared by other people.  They seemed to load into the project OK.  I had them grouped in a about 5 different robohelp folders to keep them organized so after I would insert, complete my topic and save.  I would move the images to their respective folder.  This was fine for a while,  I had no problems generating printed .pdf documentation, making changes to my topics, etc.  But now the images keep disappearing from the Robohelp folder structure and the printed documentation.  I can see the images when I open up and view the topics.  I can also see them when I look out onto the drive on the computer.  However, they do not show up in the Robohelp  Project Manager and are not included in my printed output.  I keep re-inserting them, but they continue to disappear.

    Hi there
    Certainly it won't hurt anything to add the images to baggage files, but I'd be shocked to find that solves the problem.
    If an image has been used in RoboHelp, it should be present in the project. End of story. The fact they seem to be disappearing seems to suggest that maybe something has gone awry with folder naming or image naming or the project in general.
    So what version and flavor of RoboHelp are you using?
    RoboHelp 10, RoboHelp 9, RoboHelp 8, etc.
    RoboHelp HTML, RoboHelp for Word
    Cheers... Rick

  • Problems with image disk from Idvd

    Hi everyone, I've burned some Idvd projects, and before throwing those projects to the trash, i've saved them as an image disk.
    Today, when I burn image disk, it burns, but when I play it on a dvd deck the movie doesn't exist.
    When I check on my Imac, it shows me the dvd with a file burned on it, but doesn't play like a dvd.
    What's going on ?
    Thanx for answering
    Steve

    OK OK I've forgotten to use the "search" option.
    I think I've found the answer, I HAVE TO USE DISK UTILITY to burn an image disk, and not :
    Open the new dvd
    drag and drop the image disk to burn
    and click the "burn" button on the top right of the window.
    Grrrrr
    Here is a post with the answer.

  • Issues with Image rendering from Database

    Maestros,
    I have an issue here that I working but can hardly find a plausible solution and would like some help from the community. I'll do my best to explain the my issue in detail that way those of you who are savvy in this domain can jump on it right away.
    I am in the process of implementing a shopping grid where products are shown as items on the grid. Each grid contains a custom product tag that contains a product image thumbnail, the description and price. All picture images are stored in a postgres sql database as byte arrays. I retrieve and rendered them on the product grid using a servlet that calls my product service.
    The problem I am having is that when products are rendered not all the images are rendered even though they are present. One a refresh is done, some of the ones that previously did not render on renders and some that did go missing. I am using jsf and it looks like the application reaches the render response phase before the images are completely retrieved. I am also implement hibernate ehcache to see if that can help solve the problem, to no avail.
    Is my approach the right approach? I know some of you would want to ask why I save images in a database and if you really want to know, the reason is because products are loaded dynamically and one product can have as many images as the e-shop manager wants. If please have another way to solve this problem please feel free to let me know. I am sure there is a better way of retrieving those images and render them without any issues and if you have done anything like that before feel free to send me some directions.
    Thanks

    Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
    You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
    Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel or adjusting your multicast rate.
    There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first. Networks that have inherent issues can be seen to work differently with different versions of the same software. You might also try moving the Apple TV away from other electrical equipment.

  • Trying to clear an array of clusters with image info from memory - overflowing!

    I am using a cluster with IMAQ interface name, session info, image array, and individual image and creating an array of that cluster. I try to clear the cluster by deleting the array elements, read an array of images, save them, and repeat the loop. Over time, though the arrays are tearing through all available RAM. I tried removing local variables (which I understand would save a copy of the entire array to memory every loop iteration) and had no luck - actually the code hangs now on the write function, where it thinks there is no image data. I didn't think I changed anything other than to direct wire where there had been local vars to pass information from one part of the sequence to the next. Help! (screenshots of code attached).

    Hi, Nasgul,
    Not sure where you have resources leak - from your screenshots its not clear.
    But one is clear - you may not understand that IMAQ Images in LabVIEW passed by references. So, if you want to create array of images, then for each element IMAQ Create should be called with different name, otherwise all elements referred to the same image. For example, if IMAQ Dispose will be called for the first elementh of the array, then other 9 images will be automatically invalid.
    Compare two code snippets below:
    Common recipe for solving troubles with resources - reduce your application step by step by isolating parts of the code with case structures until application will be stable. Then you will found part of code which caused memory leak.
    best regards,
    Andrey.

    Now this may be a stupid question but tried looking all over google without result. Like I said, when I opened win 8.1 metro apps then I dragged mouse over top-left corner and opened this bar with running metro apps, I was able to "close" them by JUST hitting the middle button in my Lenovo X230. I checked the synaptics ultranav options (AMAZING TOOL AND OPTIONS) I cannot do this anymore but i know i didnt disable anything related to this activity. Anyone experiencing the same?
