AcroProX hangs, pieces become blank or black

A few weeks ago I upgraded 8 users from Acrobat 8 or 9 Pro to 10 Pro and one, the most thorough user of the product (of course), is constantly having this problem. While she's editing files, both secure and nonsecure, areas of the screen will disappear and the outlines of error messages can be seen; sometimes text is visible: "an internal error has occurred." Using Enter or Esc goes through multiple identical messages until they're all closed, at which time Acrobat still has black or blank sections and can't be used, but can be closed properly.
I have uninstalled Acrobat and Reader and reinstalled just Acrobat, but nothing has changed. I've also flushed the user's Windows profile. I've seen bad RAM cause problems in one application and no others, but it tested okay in this instance. Any ideas?
WinXP SP3, 2GB RAM, Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU     E4400  @ 2.00GHz (2 cores)

Just an update, it seems that the display manager is starting and running fine, I just didn't realize that slim.log was from before I set up optimus, so I assume it is a monitor issue? Do I need to set up the monitor manually?

  • Adobe screen becomes blank

    Hi All,
    We have a page built with Adobe flex Builder3.0 and uploaded the .swf file to KM. Also created a url ivew pointing to the KM path. The contents (Adobe screen) is visible only for a short period after which the screen becomes blank. Currently the workaround that we are doing is rebuiding the application and reloading the .swf to KM.
    Can anyone suggest why this is happenning and provide a permanent fix for this.

  • Blank or black windows. Erratic scrolling

    Manifesting at different times
    1) Windows go blank or black.
    2) Scrolling becomes so erratic and sensitive as to be un-usable. This occurs either when rolling mouse wheel or, click and drag on window scroll bar

    I had already used the safe mode to isolate to possibly Adobe Shockwave Flash. In retrospect it seems the act of restarting has more with problem correction than Flash. TBD
    At your suggestion, I did disable the hardware acceleration. Updated the NVIDIA Quadro 540 driver. Found that Windows XP and NVIDIA had different opinions about what is latest. Used NVIDIAs.
    I have a serious short term memory problem (my human brain). It seems initial driver date , before starting update, was newer than either windows version or NVIDIAs verson. Not sure.
    Yesterday, I also went into about config and set some options to default, as opposed to user value set.
    Yesterday I also changed mouse scroll increments from 1 to 4 lines
    I will reply in a few dates about results

  • Pdf In preview on firefox and google chrome seem ok Download becomes Blank.

    Pdf In preview on firefox and google chrome preview are fine  so open in adobe reader  the  pdf  becomes Blank.
    So i installed the newest update of adobe reader 11. still comes up blank. I tried on to other computers the file seems ok.
    Saved file from one computer onto a usb and  tried opening on problem computer  still apears blank.
    So then I uninstalled adobe reader then a program on the computer what came with the pc opned the pdf fine so i restarted the computer installed 11 came up blank.
    So i  restarted computer again installed reader 10 comes up blank
    Uninstalled re installed 11 again then created a guest account on the computer opned file still blank
    So then I imporeted the file to adobe Paint shop pro it will all appear in there.

    I tried your advice to  I saved both PDFs from your links (using right-click, then Save Link as), and they save and open correctly: I get nothing
    Windows 7
    adobe Reader 11.0
    To the left is a program called Pdf Complete.

    This file we have downloaded before and lost so now we download it and get nothing. .
    Could there be anything in the preferences or settings.
    Saved the file from this computer that not worked as a pdf on to a usb thumb drive works on other computer.
    Have Just noticed adobe  reader becomes unresposive and then evently crashes when tyrying to click on other pages of this pdf that not working..

  • Widgets in my dashboard (created by Safari) are randomly becoming blank.

    Widgets in my dashboard are randomly becoming blank. These widgets were added through Safari (using file>add to dashboard option). I see the content of the widget briefly while it is flipping over if I select the mode but otherwise it shows as blank window. For example, I have set up multiple dashboard widgets (created by Safari) showing different traffic camera views. 1/3 of them work and the other 2/3's are blank.
    Any suggestions?

    These widgets work best when you have a strong internet connection. You could try reloading the widgets by pressing Command-r.

    One more thing to try.  Double click on the home button.  Scroll in that bottom line of icons (swipe finger to left) to the app that are all white.  Hold your finger on the app until the - sign appears.  Tap it to close the app.  Hopefully it will then show up correctly.  (As they say about chicken soup curing a cold, "can't hurt")

  • Sales Order Sold-to-party becomes blank after download from ECC

    In our project scenario we creating quotaion in CRM & then uploading it to ECC. I have activated scenario A (note 642944) so that I can change it in both systems. Now problem is when I do some change to it in ECC. The downloaded quotation contains error as Sold-to-Party becomes blank, so are Ship-to-party. I had checked BDOC, it contains one entry for partner, i.e. Payer(PF 4) and not for others. I believe this is the reason for error.
    Initially we were not using quotation or sales order download, so no initial load has been done for object SALESDOCUMENT. I have activated for it in R3AC4.
    Please help me in resolving it.

    Hi,
    If you open the downloaded quotation in ECC in display mode, do you see the sold-to and ship-to values?
    If so, then only in the change mode the values are being lost. Am I right? In that case the partner re-determination on ECC may be causing this. Did you check the logs on ECC and CRM for any error on this issue?
    Also try creating a quotation in ECC with the same sold-to and ship-to to make sure there is no issue on ECC side.

  • Odd "Blank" or "black" screen in apps

    Because I don't like crashes, I like to play on Firefox 3.6.6 with Flash 10.1.
    At any rate, I did some install and reinstall work for Flash to figure out which version worked best.  So I did multiple installs / uninstalls using Adobe's uninstall special program. 
    And it all ran beautifully with Multifox.
    About a week ago, Mozilla decided to update to Firefox 13 without prompting me.  (oops... forgot to change that setting.) 
    Now, the go2 app simply displays as a blank or black box.  Which is fascinating.  You have to click to log in (integrates with facebook)... and the little pop up comes up as normal.  But the display remains simply dark. 
    This occurs in Mozilla and IE regardless of Flash version. 
    I have tried
    (1) deleting
    %apps%/Adobe/Flash
    %apps%/Macromedia/Flash
    %apps%/Mozilla/Profiles
    (2) updating my video drivers
    (3) turning off hardware acceleration
    (4) increasing the download space for the app to 10MB in flash settings.
    (5) uninstalling/reinstalling flash and mozilla / various version permutations
    Any ideas on what I could try short of a reinstall?
    Running XP/SP3 2 meg ram 9800 GT video card.

    Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased.

    Sorry I do not know what the problem may be. <br />
    If no-one comes up with better ideas of what causes this then my questions and suggestions:
    What do you mean by an infinite loop ? <br />
    The page loads and then goes blank. What exactly happens next, does the page fully load and fully display again before going blank, and repeat this cycle endlessly in the same tab.
    You do say the problem persisted in safe-mode and you had looked at the basic troubleshooting article. Buy that you can stop the problem by disabling javascript.
    * did you disable all plugins - and did you still get the problem then ?
    As you mention disabling javascript stops the problem, have you tried with<br /> Java script enabled but
    * block popups ON
    * load images automatically OFF
    * advanced options - ALL OFF<br /> What happens do you get the problem then or not.
    While on this firefox site if I look at the error console Ctrl+Sift+J or Tools -> Error console If I clear the console content and reload the webpage the error console shows only a couple of messages. YouTube home page give a lot of yellow triangle warnings about 200, but no red warnings, do you get red warnings.
    You could also try on the problem sites eg YouTube changing the permissions with tools -> Page Info | Permissions
    Did you try the Basic Troubeshooting suggestion of making a new profile. (Heeding the warning not to delete settings, otherwise you loose all bookmarks etc) did that help ?

  • Firefox 10 Crashes occassionally when clicking on a picture on facebook that loads the new popup. Firefox just hangs and becomes unresponsive. Is there a fix for this?

    When u click on a picture that loads the popup that Facebook has recently introduced on occasion Firefox just hangs and becomes unresponsive and has to be closed by using task manager. It doesn't happen every time say for every 2 out of 10.

    I rebooted my computer and now it's working.
    When in doubt, reboot, but in my frustration this afternoon it didn't occur to me.
