AcroRD32 trying to modify computer when launched - AcrobatX Reader
I am running win 7, 64 bit - Ultimate with bitlocker and the 32 bit IE8 browser. When I open a .pdf I get a User Account Control window stating that "...acrord32 trying to modify computer when launched..."

You need to change the permissions of that file in a terminal window, but doing that may reduce your Mac's security. You need to allow other users to edit the file OR you need to mount the disk as root.

I am using wireless 4G Wireless Sierra dongle. I have a Mac Air. How can I stop the pop up screen trying to modify configuration when I connect. I can connect with no problems but I have to click 'cancel' (on pop up screen that says network needs to modify my configuration) sometimes as many as 50 times!!! very annoying as the pop up is in middle of screen & won't go away unless i click it. ITunes locks up computer when it cant read disc
Every time I try to import one of my CDs with iTunes, one of the tracks will not import properly and the computer will just lock up when I try to eject the CD.
This doesn't happen on every disc, but on at least every other one. All my discs are kept in like new condition(no scratches) and I keep track of which songs are causing iTunes to "hang". Then I reload the cd, without importing, and try just playing the same track by itself and there is no problem. My import settings are set to Apple Lossles and are on Automatic. I have already tried switching back and forth between using the error correction feature but I still get the same results. I can hear the cd drive starting and restarting (sounds like motor is ramping up and down repeatedly) but when you try to stop the import or eject the disc it locks up the entire computer. Sometimes I can get to the desktop and click on Force Quit, but this also only works intermittently. If I try ctrl-command-power, then I cant even use the mouse or keyboard and have to hold the power button down to shut it off. Any suggestions?Though this is a forum for itunes on Windows, I'm having the same issue on my g4 mini, and installed the 7.0.1 update as it was supposed to address this very problem, among others. No difference at all. I've tried importing as AAC, mp3, with different bit rates, and no change. It will import a few tracks, or most of them, or none of them, and then lock up randomly.
The only way around it that I've found is to manually copy all the AIFF files from the cd to my desktop and then import in to itunes from there, and that works without any problem but then I have to enter all the track titles, etc., manually--inconvenient but nothing more.
Anyone else still having trouble with this? My next step will be to uninstall v7 and install v6, but I'd like to find a solution to this so I can still use the nifty features in v7. -
"No screen reader support" error when launching Adobe Reader 9.1
One of my users has to use the default magnifier on his Windows sessions (we run Server 2003 Citrix desktops on thin clients) due to his having limited eye sight. However, whenever he opens a pdf Adobe Reader pops up with this message "No Screen Reader Support: This version of the Adobe Reader does not support screen readers. Information about downloading a version with screen reader support is availalbe at http://www.adobe.com/go/reader_download
After this error, Adobe Reader shuts down.
If you go to that link, it just directs you to latest download for Adobe Reader which is currently 9.1. I installed this version, but it made no difference, despite it being the very latest. Does anyone have any advice on how to resolve this? Thanks.I've come across a similar thing

The local text echo component must be being interpretted as a being a screen reader.

Error when launching Photoshop - cannot modify scratch disk preferences
Hi all,
I recently installed photoshop CS5. When launching it I get the following error:
'Could not open a scratch file because the disk is not available'.
I went on this forum and found out several threads relevant to that issue. I did the following to try to fix the problem:
Did a clean uninstall of CS5, made sure no file pertaining to CS5 were remaining
Reinstalled CS5
As the problem was still occuring I did the following (as hinted in the threads)
I reset the photoshop preferences according to http://forums.adobe.com/thread/370735?tstart=0
I modified the setting of the drive HD (read & write everywhere, share folder checked)
I then tried to change the scratch disk preferences (launch photoshop then click Option+Command+Shift)I can select my disk but the selection does next time I try it is still the same (c.f. screen shot): first = startup, second = none, etc.)
I would really appreciate if someone could help me on this one.

FrancisI have one drive, but the point is rather that when I select it (=macintosh HD), it is still Startup that appears in the menu as depicted above on the next launch.

Launch your Console app (in Utilities folder) and look at all messages where you'll see everything your machine has done, complete with dates and time. Latest entries are at bottom of list.

I have a new computer running os10.9. my old computer ran cs5.5(upgrade version). I am trying to get CS5.5onto my new computer. when i load cs5.5 towards the end of the install it asks for the cs5.5 serial number. i put that in and everything is accepted but then it asks for a serial number for a full version of a product which men is design premium cs3 but it doesn't give me that product as a choice from the drop down menu. it only gives me adobe master collection cs3. why when i have purchased all these different upgrades can i now not use them and how can i sort this out. i need cs5.5 on my new computer.

I've always had PSE 7.0, but I guess my computer has an issue reading the Installation CD I have for it, so I tried to manually download it from the official website, but when I go trough the whole process, it does not want to accept my product key number... What do I do?
It's either my computer because it's old, or something is wrong with my cd installer. I don't know, but I just want to install my PSE 7.0, but it does not work even on the official website with my product key #.
PLZ HELP ME!I've always had PSE 7.0, but I guess my computer has an issue reading the Installation CD I have for it, so I tried to manually download it from the official website, but when I go trough the whole process, it does not want to accept my product key number... What do I do?
It's either my computer because it's old, or something is wrong with my cd installer. I don't know, but I just want to install my PSE 7.0, but it does not work even on the official website with my product key #.

Back up all data.
If Adobe Reader or Acrobat is installed, there should be a setting in its preferences such as Display PDF in Browser. I don't use those applications myself, so I can't be more precise. Deselect that setting, if it's selected. Otherwise do as follows.
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
/Library/Internet Plug-ins
In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens (command-V), then press return.
From the folder that opens, remove any items that have "Adobe" or “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari, and test.
The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can also interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it as well, if it's present. The same goes for a plugin called "iGetter," and perhaps others.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again. -
i tried to modify BCA so i can use a usb to load windows via BCA but now it doesn't load when i double click it!? any ideas?

How can I solve the Error 110 problem when trying to modify the Description of Properties of PDF?
Hello!
I am trying to modify the Description of the PDF fies but I cannot do for some files because of the Error 110. How can I solve this problem so I can succesfully modify the Description of the Properties of the PDF files?
I also have one more question!
Why is it impossible to modify the Description parts when the File name is missing in the Description? There is a File name on each individual PDFs but some of them have to File names on the Description!

I tried running the TwoVideos sample application today on Windows XPsp3, JavaFX 2.1b17, JDK7u4ea and I was unable to reproduce the problem, so it is likely fixed either 2.1 or (less likely I believe) a Windows 7 only related issue.
