Acroread full screen problem - dual display on Linux machine

Hi:
I am running Linux Fedora core 15 on an HP laptop that I use for presentations.  I have dual displays set up and run my presentation software (opera and acroreader)  in the external monitor in full screen mode.  This works fine for opera, but when I try to use acroreader, it only appears on the laptop's built in monitor when in full screen mode.   Any suggestions on how to get it on the external display?
Thanks.

When you normally play iTunes on a secondary monitor (23" Cinema on the side) and then disconnect to go mobile, there's a problem - can't get video window to show up anywhere without changing preferences to have video display in iTunes window or art window. Disabling spaces, checking display, "detect displays", nothing else works.

  • Second screen blacked out when full screen with dual displays

I have a MacBook Pro connected to an LCD display. I use both screens. When working from home I'd like to have my local machine showing on the LCD monitor and my work machine showing in the MBP screen. I can do this, however I can't have the work machine in full screen mode because ARD blacks out my main LCD monitor. This frankly drives me nuts as there doesn't appear to be a preference within ARD to change this.
iTunes does the same thing. If I want to watch a video full screen in one monitor it blacks out the other. C'mon Apple, Quicktime doesn't do this and has a preferences tab just for display settings!
Does someone have a suggestion, work around, or want to point me to what I might be missing to solve this issue?

I understand what you are doing, but when you are running as full-screen the second display is blacked out because your making your station only the target at that moment. You are telling ARD that you want nothing to do with your Admin station. Also because the target doesn't have a second screen, your is blank. This avoids any confusion as to what screen belongs to what machine. ARD is working as it was designed to.
iTunes does the same thing to hid extra screens that are not part of the presentation so they don't detract from the show.
With your Observe or Control in Windowed mode, make the window of you client to fill the display as much as possible. This is the best you can do. Besides, when you are Controlling a client in Full-Screen, you can't move files and such with drag-n-drop. So if you want to work on both at the same time, you need to stay in windowed mode.

  • Full Screen Problem - Dual Monitors - Hulu Desktop

I am using Hulu Desktop with dual monitors. I keep Hulu on full screen on monitor #2. I use monitor #1 for computer use, etc.
It is IMPOSSIBLE to look at an app in full screen mode on monitor #1 and keep my Hulu full screen in monitor #2 at the same time. So if Hulu is playing and I open up a full screen Mail.app...the hulu screen (mon. 2) just shows that grey background.
Apple NEEDS to add a way to make the #2 monitor immune to the spaces functionality. That or make a way so that an app can stay on top of ALL SCREENS not just user-created ones.
I have seen people suggest the, "Right click the app in the dock and choose all screens" but that ONLY works for user-created desktops. It won't make the app be full screen over Mail, iCal, Address book, etc when they make their own spaces window.
    Help! :-)\

    That's annoying, isn't it?
It's why I quit using iTunes in full screen.
I play my movies in VLC and "maximize" the window so I can keep working on the other display. I don't knwo of any other way aorund it.

  • Full screen caller image display

Full Screen Caller image was one of the best feature of an iPhone that made look iPhone simpler and fantastic to use..
This particular feature seems to have been last with the upgrade to iOS 7.1..
    Please fix this issue..
Full screen caller image display makes the phone look beautiful and wonderful when a known person is calling

I agree with you on  the full screen view for when a users contacts call them. I hesitated upgrading, Apple has now joined the ranks for screw-ups! Since the late  Steve Jobs left this earth, Tim Cook has royally screwed-up this company! Customers here in th U.S and arouund the world are the ones shelling out hundreds of dollars for a product that is the best next thing to revoluntionize the way we communicate with others. But it seems that $600+ dollars gets us junk and a device not tailored to us, the users. I want to call them "M!cr0$oft Apples!" Give us the ability to go back to iOS6. Let us choose! We the customers have made this company rich, full of wealth beyond their greedy little hands. Give us the ability to choose what OS we want to install. Their should be a transparency relationship between the customer with the money, and worker who will work for us to render a product that we "the users," want" and not want a senior desinger assumes we think is good. Remember, this is all thanks to a legend who we all know and respect as ("in my own opinion), the father of modern communication Steve Jobs. SJ worked till his last days here to creat a masterpiece, T.C came on board and took a huge "memoryDUMP," and disregarded his visions. If your passionate like me about Apple and what Steve Jobs stood for, then  help me create a petition to make this company see that we "The customers are ALWAYS right!"
    Missing and need back:
Transparency on the dock and icons
    Working Wifi, and imessage
    Better Battery life!!!
Reverse the icons back to iOS7.06
    Fix maps
Unless the designers are gothic in nature (I love Goth!!); dont make our phone dark and heavy on the fonts.
I dont know about you, but I' am tired of hearing excuses from Apple and its CEO!
PRETTY MUCH, REVERSE THE UPDATE OR WE WANT OUR MONEY BACK!
As th general public alredy knows, Apple will never listen or read these suggestions" They sleep soundly in thier 2.5millon homes, and respectively. Why care about those people that are paying thier salary pretty much! • How to keep Flash in Full Screen on Dual Monitors

    Hi,
I have a simple question. What should I do, to make my application (written in Flex SDK 4.5.1) staying in Full screen when I work in 2nd monitor - like Youtube and Euronews player (http://www.euronews.com/news/streaming-live/) ?
I don't know, how should I embed my application correct or add something to source code to make it work? My application is working correct in Full screen mode, I can use keyboard etc. but I'm not able to make this working - it's always going back to normal when it loose focus.
I have read many topics on this forum and internet, so I'm not interested in solutions like: http://flash-full-screen-multiple-monitor.clangen.com/en/ or .dll tricks like http://lifehacker.com/5419028/keep-flash-videos-in-full-screen-on-dual-monitors
If Youtube and Euronews is working with normal Flash (my current 11.9.900.117) there must be a way?
If someone can type code examples (like for a total dummy ), it will be great.
    Thank you.

You'd want to ask in the Flex forum or Flash Professional forum, since you CANNOT edit ANY Flash content with Flash Player.

  • PSE 6 - Dual Monitor Full Screen Problem

I've got a Thinkpad (with NVIDIA Quadro M140 integrated graphics) connected via DVI to a Samsung SyncMaster 206BW monitor using Vista Enterprise.
I've set up my workspace as Dual Monitor, DualView.   My Font DPI is set at 96 (Default).
When I click Maximize on the Thinkpad LCD, PSE 6 opens fully and correctly.
When I click Maximize on the Samsung external monitor, PSE 6 opens a window that is larger than the monitor AND there are no bars at the bottom to shift the display.  Therefore, I cannot see about 15% of the right side of the window when in Maximum/Full Screen mode.
PSE 6 appears to be the only program that has this problem.
I cannot adjust the monitor, since I'm connected via DVI.
    All video drivers are current.
Is there a fix for this problem?

I haven't seen this occur on my Macbook pro with secondary or triple monitors.  Is this happening with all fullscreen content (eg. YouTube)?  What browser and Flash Player Version are you using?  Also, is this a retina macbook?

  • Full Screen Problem With Dual Monitor Viewing

I have a 64 Bit system, Chrome browser and with flash player built in.  I am attempting to view videos on a 2nd monitor while working on the primary monitor.  I have tried this on various sites, TNT.tv, USANetworks.com, etc...  I select full screen viewing.  A message is displayed to exit full screen press escape.  However, when I attempt to do anything else automatically exit full screen on the second monitor.   This should not be an issue and with the way most people view video online, they are doing so on a 2nd monitor or TV.  I have done a google search and it is a common problem, but there is no solution that seems to work.

I have just posted the same question - missed yours.
Adobe could you take a look into this - I think solving this problem can't be that hard.

  • MacBook Pro (Fall 2013) - display lag / full screen problem on 10.9.2

I have a Macbook Pro that I bought last November.
Specs: 2.6 GHz Intel Core i5, 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3, Intel Iris 1024 MB, 500 GB Flash Storage.
It was a pretty big upgrade from my Fall 2010 Macbook Air. When I first bought it a couple times the screen scrambled for half a second on ocassion. I had Apple check it and they found no problems with the hardware. After a software update, that has never happened again.
However, in the last month (after I updated to 10.9.2) I've had two issues - both display related:
1 - When the display is off I normally hit the trackpad and the display instantly pops back on. Now however, the screen comes up black with only the cursor  visable for about 5 seconds. The cursor moves fine, so the screen isn't frozen, but this is new and a lag I've never had on any on my macs before.
2 - Full screen is messed up ever since the update as well. It's either blown up, or sqeezed, but never actually in full screen. See picture below:
I ran the disk utilty in start up mode and repaired my disc and permisions. Ran Onyx. No change. I hope 10.9.3 will address this! Any suggestions or information are appreicated.

Have you reset the SMC and the PRAM?

  • Final Cut 7 Full screen problem

Hello everyone, I recently installed snow leopard, and final cut studio 3, on a 3.2 dual quad core machine, it has 16gigs of ram and internal raid controller. for graphics card I am using quadro fx 5600.
    I have 2 screen configuration.
I've had the following problem after the installation. When I play something from final cut on my second display (which is in full screen mode), it seems that video is lagging or something like that, image appears that its being scanned or something, its more apparent on the action scenes, where it more camera movement. It has been very annoying, and I am sure its not a bit rate issue, all I am trying to play is a prores LT file, and outside the final cut (in QT for ex) everything plays very smooth.
Maybe there is someone who had similliar problem, please people I am in need badly.

check the system prefs and adjust the settings up or down, see what happens. You don't mention the type of monitor so it's hard to know where the controls are but after an OS upgrade it's possible the settings got changed. Try reducing the number of colors, try changing the scanning freq, try changing the resolution. Try updating the driver for your card, too, might be a new one for Snow Leopard.

  • Crome - stuck in full screen on Second display

    Hello
I am in need of some help here.
I have a dual screen set up
Main display - Apple 30" display
Second display - Apple 23" display
At one point I have enabled full screen mode with Google Crome on my 23" display and I can't get it out of Full Screen.
I have quit Crome and tried to start it holding down different keys - Command, option and also control, (alone not together)
No change, still runs full screen
    UGH - hate it.
I have tried 'esc' and the blue arrows in the upper right of the screen both did not help.
    Thanks

  • 8.1 full screen problems landscape

Since updating to 8.1   Tapping to view videos in full screen goes to portrait full screen instead of landscape full screen while in landscape position. There are also problems  trying to full screen in portrait position.

Your statement is a bit vague as to where you see this behavior.... In the Videos App, Safari, YouTube? Every video In every app? WIthout more details, try the basic troubleshooting steps. Clear Safari, close all apps, reset your iPad. If that doesn't help, reset all settings.
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History and Website Data
Now close all apps. In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Next, reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If those three things made no difference, try this. Reset all settings. You will not lose any data, but most of the device settings will have to be entered in the settings app again. Settings>General>Reset>Reset all Settings.

  • Macbook Pro connected to HDTV full screen problem

I connected my Macbook Pro to my TV via HDMI. When i have an application on the TV (safari) and press the full screen button (upper right corner with the 2 arrows) my Macbbok display shows this grey area. If fulscreen an application on the Macbbok display the same thing happens. Aslo when i navigate through the full sceen apps in one display hte other display also changes. Is there something that solves this problem?

This is just an educated guess, but I think your problem may be distance. It sounds like you've got 60' of cable running to a splitter, then more cable to two TV's that are 50' apart. This article seems to indicate HDMI distance isn't reliable with that much cable.
    http://www.bluejeanscable.com/articles/how-long-can-hdmi-run.htm
An easy test would be to try it with shorter cables. If that works at least you know where your problem lies.
