ACS 5.3 authorization with Juniper WXC-3400

In the process of migrating from ACS 4.1 to ACS 5.3. Authentication works fine, but having issues with authorization on the Juniper WXC-3400 devices. In ACS  4.1 we were passing TACACS+Shell (exec) Custom attributes Privilege level=15, which allowed a user to login with read/write privileges. In ACS 5.3  tried setting the Shell Profiles common task to 15 for both Default and Maximum (one at a time, and together), as well as setting the Custom Attributes for priv-lvl=15 (with and without Common Tasks set).
A capture shows Auth Status: 0x11  (ERROR).
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!

  • Cisco ACS 5.1 Tacacs with Juniper Srx 210

    Hi all,
I am trying to do authentication for Juniper SRX 210 FW With Cisco ACS 5.1 Tacacs but I am unable to acheive it ..
Can any one help me how to add Junos service in ACS 5.1..How to Intergarte Juniper SRX 210 in Cisco ACS 5.1

    Hello Pranav
As Nicolas said, you really need to know what attributes Juniper SRX is using. It also depends on what you're looking for, for example it's very different "password authentication" from "command authorization". I answered a similar question here https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/2111466
You don't need to enable any new service. ACS is capable to attend any TACACS (or RADIUS) device as long as you tell ACS what are the TACACS (or RADIUS) attributes needed for that device.
This is an example in which I have configured ACS 5.x with an attribute called "local-user-name" which JunOS router use for authentication. For that you need to go to "Policy Elements > Authorization and Permissions > Device Administration > Shell Profiles".
If you don't know the attributes you can capture the packets and troubleshoot from Juniper cli and from "ACS view" side. That's how I find out the "local-user-name" attribute.
Please rate if it helps. Kind regards

  • Configuring Cisco ACS 5.1 with Juniper Netscreen Firewall wit Radius & Tacacs+

    Hello,
Can anybody tell me the step-by-step configuration of Cisco ACS 5.1, to configured it with Juniper Netscreen Firewall for radius & tacacs+ authentication and authorization?
I am able to configure this with Cisco ACS 4.2 with customise VSA file but can't understand how to configure it on ACS 5.1.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi Eduardo,
Can you tell me how to map ACS 4.2?
    service=junos-exec
    local-user-name=Engineering
Into the new "shell profiles" on ACS 5.2? How do I verify these attributes are passed onto ACS 5.2? I don't have access to a sniffer or tap nor do I have writes on this box. I have to instruct our systems folks to investigate. It has been a back and forth battle.
Also, I'd like to see where I'd map this on ACS 5.2.  Keep in mind in both cases I have a JUNOS config mapping to a login user Engineer and operations respectively.
    local-user-name=opertions

  • ACS 5.3 Authorization problem with using Identity Groups in Access Policy Rule

Hello guys, I am found a problem which I can't solve regarding authorization with using Identity Groups in Access Policy rule.
ACS version: 5.3.0.40.6 (internal build B.839)
I have very simple RADIUS Authorization rule which authorize user on behalf of right Identity Group.
    Requested Identity Group exist
Testing user is created in Internal Users and has assigned requested Identity Group
    Radius Access Policy:
Authentication against Identity Store Sequence, where authorization server is external RSA SecurID device and additional attributes retrieval is configured from Internal Users.
Authorization is very simple – One Rule with only one Condition which is: Identity Group - in - Requested_Testing_Rule. Then Default rule is set to Deny.
When I will try login with my testing user then authentication against RSA SecurID is OK, but authorization will be denied by Default rule – It looks like my Rule with Identity Group is totally omitted.
I am managing several other ACS servers (version 5.3 but with older patches) where similar rules are working without problem.
    What I am tested:
Remove testing user and create his account again.
    Rename Identity Group
    Use another Identity Group
Remove Access Policy rule and create it again
    Use Compound Condition: System:Identity Group
Use Compound Condition: System:UserID instead of Identity Group in Rule (it is working without problem)
Do you have any idea where problem can be?

OK guys, it started working yesterday without any configuration change. Maybe it was some database inconsistence wich was solved by ACS itself.

  • AAA Authorization with ACS Shell-Sets

    Hi all,
I am using a cisco 871 router running Version 12.4(11)T advanced IP Services.
I am having trouble getting AAA Authorization to work correctly with ACS.
I am able to set the users up on ACS fine and assign them shell and priv level 7.
I then setup a Shell Auth Set, and enter in the commands show and configure.
When I log in as a user, I get an exec with a priv level of 7 no problems, but I never seem to be able
to access global config mode by typing in conf (or configure) terminal or t.
If I type con? the only command there is connect, configure is never an option...
The only way I can get this to work is by entering the command:
privilege exec level 7 configure terminal
I thought the whole purpose of the ACS Shell Set was to provide this information to the Router?
    This is most frustrating
The ACS Server is set up with a Shell Command Authorization Set named Level_7
It is assigned to the relevant groups and I even have the "Unmatched Commands" option selected to "Permit"
The "Permit Unmatched Args" is also selected.
See an excerpt of my IOS config below:
    aaa new-model
    aaa group server tacacs+ ACS
    server 10.90.0.11
aaa authentication login default group ACS local
aaa authorization exec default group ACS
aaa authorization commands 7 default group ACS local
    tacacs-server host 10.90.0.11 key cisco
privilege exec level 7 configure terminal
    privilege exec level 7 configure
privilege exec level 7 show running-config
    privilege exec level 7 show
Hope you can help me with this one..
P.s I have tried it with the privilege commands on the router and removed from the router and just keep getting the same results!?

    Hi,
    So here it is,
You are actually using two different options and trying to couple then together. What I would suggest you is either use Shell command authorization set feature or play with privilege level. Not both mixed together.
Above scenario might work, if you move commands to privilege level 6 and give user privilege level 7. It might not sure. Give it a try and share the result.
This is what I suggest the commands back to normal level.
Below provided are steps to configure shell command authorization:
Follow the following steps over the router:
    !--- is the desired username
    !--- is the desired password
!--- we create a local username and password
!--- in case we are not able to get authenticated via
!--- our tacacs+ server. To provide a back door.
    username password privilege 15
!--- To apply aaa model over the router
    aaa new-model
!--- Following command is to specify our ACS
!--- server location, where is the
!--- ip-address of the ACS server. And
!--- is the key that should be same over the ACS and the router.
    tacacs-server host key
!--- To get users authentication via ACS, when they try to log-in
!--- If our router is unable to contact to ACS, then we will use
!--- our local username & password that we created above. This
!--- prevents us from locking out.
aaa authentication login default group tacacs+ local
aaa authorization exec default group tacacs+ local
    aaa authorization config-commands
aaa authorization commands 0 default group tacacs+ local
aaa authorization commands 1 default group tacacs+ local
aaa authorization commands 15 default group tacacs+ local
!--- Following commands are for accounting the user's activity,
!--- when user is logged into the device.
aaa accounting exec default start-stop group tacacs+
aaa accounting system default start-stop group tacacs+
aaa accounting commands 0 default start-stop group tacacs+
aaa accounting commands 1 default start-stop group tacacs+
aaa accounting commands 15 default start-stop group tacacs+
    Configuration on ACS
[1] Goto 'Shared Profile Components' -> 'Shell Command Authorization Sets' -> 'Add'
Provide any name to the set.
provide the sufficent description (if required)
    (a) For Full Access administrative set.
    In Unmatched Commands, select 'Permit'
    (b) For Limited Access set.
    In Unmatched commands, select 'Deny'.
And in the box above 'Add Command' box type in the main command, and in box below 'Permit unmatched Args'. Provide with the sub command allow.
For example: If we want user to be only able to access the following commads:
    login
    logout
    exit
    enable
    disable
    show
    Then the configuration should be:
    ------------------------Permit unmatched Args--
    login permit
    logout permit
    exit permit
    enable permit
    disable permit
    configure permit terminal
    interface permit ethernet
    permit 0
    show permit running-config
in above example, user will be allowed to run only above commands. If user tries to execute 'interface ethernet 1', user will get 'Command authorization failed'.
    [2] Press 'Submit'.
[3] Goto the group on which we want to apply these command authorization set. Select 'Edit Settings'.

  • Configuring Cisco ISE for Authorization with External Radius Server attribute

    Hi,
I'm trying to integrate an external radius server with Cisco ISE.
I created an External Identity Store>Radius Token Server.
I created a Identity Store sequence with just one identity store just as creadted above.
And I was able to authenticate successfully.
But when it comes to authorization.
I observed we just have one tab named Authorization while creating Radius Token server.
And it always refers to ACS:attribute_name.
If I want to define a IETF radius attribute, (lets say class with attribute id as 25), how could I do it.
In Cisco ACS we have a direct entry option in authorization tab where we can define the radius (IETF) attribute within Radius token server creation (within radius token server>Directory attribute tab).
How ever I try to define the IETF attribute here (class,IETF:Class) I am not able to authorize with this attribute value.
I tried with just one single authorization rule where it could hit.But observed it to go the default(as none of the rules defined matches the condition).
Can anyone guide me how can we define a IETF radius attribute for authorization within Cisco ISE and what policy could we set it to work as authorization.
    Thanks in advance
    Senthil K

  • Aaa authorization with Tacacs+

    Hello All,
I am trying to figure out how aaa authorization with tacacs+ works.
I am totally comfortable with aaa authentication..But am not able to understand how it works...How diff priv levels are assigned to diff users?..
    I am totally freaked out...

The device side side setup is pretty simple. You just use the aaa authorization command set. A good bit of the setup is on the ACS server end.
Cisco has a pretty thorough configuration example posted here.

  • Transport roles and analysis authorization with user assigned

    Hi expert,
I face with this problem transport roles and analysis authorization with user assigned. When I have created a transport request to move the roles and analysis authorization from development system to test system. I couldnu2019t maintain the user assigned, after transport I have to assigned manually all of user or create a program to fill AGR_USER table or there are other way.
    Thanks for your time,
    Luis

    Hi,
In role administration, you have the following options for transporting roles:
You can download the roles from one system and upload them into another
You can import the role from a remote system using RFC
You can transport the roles with the transport function.
Role upload loads all role data, including authorization data from a file into the SAP system. The user assignments for the role and the generated profiles for the role are exceptions in this case.
Transporting Roles with the Role Transport Function
           1.      Start the role administration function by choosing Tools ® Administration ® User Maintenance ® Role Administration ® Roles (transaction PFCG).
           2.      Enter the role to be transported and choose Transport Role.
The Mass Transport of Roles screen appears. You can control the default settings for the options Also transport single roles for composite roles and Also transport generated profiles for roles using Customizing switches (see Role Administration Functions in the section Functions of the Utilities Menu).
You should not change the authorizations profiles of the role after you have included the role in a transport request. If you need to change the profiles or generate them for the first time, transport the entire role again afterwards.

  • LDAP (openldap) authorization with DAP (dymamic access policy)

    Hello,
We have a asa 5520 and we try to make a ldap (openLdap) authorization with DAP (Dynamic Access Policy). We have problem with logical expression. We need more example of logical expression and we need to know how debug logical expression. We try to use de Debug dap trace and debug dap error but we need more debug informations.

    Hi
I guess you are using an ldap attribute map, to map the ad group to a group policy. This does not work as you may expect when the user is part of multiple groups, I.e. the user will always be mapped to the same group (first or last in the list, not sure).
Possible solution : remove the ldap attribute map, and configure dap rules that check the ldap.memberOf attribute instead

Are you looking to leverage certain group in AD to be assigned to a specific subnet? If yes, then this can be done through dynamic vlan assignment.

  • Autheticating useing Cisco ACS 4.2 integrated with Active Directory 2003

How do i check that users are Autheticated useing Cisco ACS 4.2 integrated with Active Directory 2003, any one help me in this thanks

You can't actually see the user's membership from ACS. All you can do, create group-mapping under external database >> group mapping section. This would give you an option to map external (AD) group with an Internal group. The group memberrship need to be modified under Active Directory.
Once user is succussfully authenticated and learned as a dynamic user in ACS user setup database, it would be mapped with an ACS internal group based on group mapping we did.
Let me know if you have any doubts.

  • Structural Authorizations with Training & Event Management

We have implemented TEM in R/3 4.72.  We also use structural authorizations with our decentralized HR functions.  Our problem is that if a user has one of the profiles assigned, they can get all the way to booking the class and then receive an error that they have no authorization to edit attendances.  If the user has NO profile, they are able to book a class with no problems.  If I add the P-E evaluation path in the profile, it fixes the problem with booking a class, but then gives the users global access (which is what we are trying to avoid).  I know there must be a key somewhere to making this work.  If anyone knows what it is, I would appreciate finding out.
    In the profile, I have given access to objects D, E, F, G, L, R and P with the P-E and P-S-O evaluation paths (using RH_GET_MANAGER_ASSIGNMENT) function.
    Thanks.

    Hello Michelle,
I think you could solve this issue by using Context Sensitive Authorizations. It is available from 4.7 and above.
