ACS Appliance - Where is the bulk import?

On the Windows version there is the command line utility which allows for the bulk import of users and clients. With over 250 TACACS+ client to install on an ACS appliance I do not want to have to add them in manually, one by one, but don't seem to be able to find the way to import them. Can anyone help?

On the appliance the only way is to use RDBMS Sync.
The ACS quick help and online docs all have quite good documentation about how to create the account actions transaction table so I wont describe it here.
You can actually set more device params via RDBMS sync than you could csutil.
I doubt its been updated for the new device parameters you can manually setup in ACS v4.1 though.

Bulk Load Utility
The Bulk Load utility is aimed at automating the process of loading a large amount of data into Oracle Identity Manager. It helps reduce the downtime involved in loading data. You can use this utility either immediately after you install Oracle Identity Manager or at any time during the production lifetime of Oracle Identity Manager. The Bulk Load utility can use either CSV files or database tables as the source of data. Data imported into Oracle Identity Manager is automatically converted into OIM Users or accounts provisioned to OIM Users.

The oimbulkload folder is in the zip file 'root' folder.

Where is the las import album ?

Hi,
I just updated to OS X 10.10.3 and Photos.
I imported photos from a camera (with USB) and I should see a last import album in the album view with these photos. But there is not.
I have :
All photos ;
Faces ;
My photo stream ;
Panoramas ;
Videos.
But no Last import album.
Anyone has the same problem ?

Where do the photos imported from my xperia to my macbook using bridge for mac software get stored?

Using bridge for mac software, I tried to import photos from my xperia to my macbook. It was shown that the import was successful. But I cant find the imported pictures in my iPhotos folder or anywhere else. Why is it so?

Where is the new "import settings" tab in itunes preferences... ????

when i go to itunes>preferences>advanced to set my file size setting for choosing what kind of file i want my song to be on import, i see no tab for import settings like before....... also checked itunes help and it didn't say it was in a different place......help??

Bulk Import into contact list error.

ACS Appliance Upgrade

I obtained the 3.3 release from Cisco. I'm currently running v3.2. When I go to System Configuration -> Appliance Upgrade Status -> Download -> Connect -> Download Now, it returns "No Distribution in Appliance". I can see the 3.3.3.11 in the software install table. but it returns the error above when trying to transfer the file. I'm running Apache / Windows XP SP2. Anyone seen this before?

Without Distribution server, normally you need to load the new image into the current ACS appliance itself before execute the upgrade process. The new image can be transferred via serial or ACS web-based 'system upgrade' option.
If I am not mistaken, the error you're getting was due to unavailability of distribution server.
If you stuck with the image transfer, try to use CLI/console mode.
Typicall upgrade method has 3 steps:
1. Load new image (download from Cisco or using CD) onto a distribution server.
2. Load the upgrade image onto the Cisco Secure ACS Appliance from the distribution server. Do it either from within the HTML interface, or from the serial console. The Cisco Secure ACS Appliance will verify the transferred files to ensure that they have not been corrupted.
3. Apply the Cisco Secure ACS Appliance system upgrade. You can do this either from within the HTML interface, or from the serial console.

Bulk import

Is the bulk import tool installed when one install oracle on their windows system? I want to do bulk import to my DB and I don't seems to figure out how can anyone give me some guide in doing bulk import, I'm using windows server 2003. thank you in advance.

If you are on 10g you can use both SQL loader or datapump.
It depends what kind of import you are talking about.
I would recommend datapump through the EM console if you are going to clone a whole DB including schemas, control files, datafiles etc.
It worked smoothly for me, cloning a DB from a windows to a linux server.
If you are going to import csv files or pipeline separated values files, I would recommend SQL loader.

ACS Appliance Database Reset (3.3.2)

Is there a possibility to clear the complete database on acs appliance without changing the ip configuration?

One simple way... is to create a backup of a "clean config".
At any point you could restore the clean config. Maybe a bit late for you now.

ACS appliance and remote agent testing

Having problems with integrating ACS appliance with Active Directory. Have installed the remote agent on a member server and from the ACS appliance can enumerate the Active Directory groups correctly so there is at least some communication happening.
Looking at the remote agent logs whenever a request for the AD groups comes through you see corresponding log entrys. When a user tries to authenticate though there are no logs coming through to the remote agent. So maybe it is not being sent to remote agent?
In the failed authentications log on the ACS the error is unknown user, it does show the correct username + domain as the person trying to authenticate.
The Windows server is setup for unknown user policy.
ACS version is 4.1.1.23, Remote Agent is latest version available.
Any ideas or things to check?

As per your last line, It seems that ACS and RA ver are not same. Please note that ACS appliance and RA software ver has to be same else it won't work.

ACS appliance -- AD -- RSA Securid Server

I have Cisco ACS appliance running version 3.3.2.2 and Windows Active Directory on Win2000 Advanced Server and RSA v5.2. I already installed successfully the remote agent in Active directory.
Authentication using EAP-FAST from my wireless client going to ACS to AD is successful.
But when authenticating going to RSA failed. I can't find logs that my ACS is communicating successfully with RSA.
Here's more info:
In Active Directory, remote agent for ACS installed succesfully. Agent for RSA is also installed succesfully.
In ACS appliance, remote agent was already pointed to AD.
No RSA SecurID Token Server found in my External User Database Configuration list. I think this is the problem.
How can I manage to configure RSA SecurID Token Server in my ACS appliance?

The configuration guideline for the ACS is described in "Configuring CiscoSecure ACS for Windows NT with ACE Server Authentication" at

I had this up and running with a customer. There was no AD involved though, so it is not entirely your case and there might be other obstacles on the way.
ACS with ACE however works, though there were some nasty problems to be solved on the way to success.
One thing to point out straight away also mentioned in the document mabove:
Challenge Handshake Authentication Protocol (CHAP) cannot be used with the ACE tokens alone because of the requirement CHAP RFC (1994) that states:
CHAP requires that the secret be available in plaintext form. Irreversibly encrypted password databases commonly available cannot be used.
This precludes use of the ACE tokens for straight CHAP unless there is a separate CHAP password. For instance:
username: xxxx
password: xxxx
Password Authentication Protocol (PAP) is a better choice here.
This means the user has to enter "username*token" - the customer finally wrote a Java applet to construct the propper combination out of different clearly named input fields to simplify the input for unexperienced users.

Migrating from Windows to the ACS appliance

I'm in the process of migrating ACS from Windows to an appliance. I did a recovery and I chose to restore the DBs and the system config. However, I'm getting emails from the appliance with the name of the old windows machine where ACS was running. I guess this a result of restoring the system config. Does anyone know how to configure the emails to be sent with the current appliance name? And it is not possible, how can I restore the appliance to factory defaults so I can do the recovery again only for the DBs? Many thanks,

well ... the easy way out is to re-image the ACS appliance and then replicate between the Windows server and the appliance . This will replicate all your settings from the windows ACS to appliance except the external database configuration that you need to manually configure.
Note : for replication both the ACS for windows and the appliance should be on the same version .

Where's the CiscoSecure ACS agent

I am implementing a ACS 1111 Cisco Secure ACS Appliance and am trying to find the agents that are needed for the windows workstations to authenticate thru it. I cannot find anything that isn't 3 years old and only for 95/NT. I know there's got to be newer versions of the software so where could it be.

Bulk import of switches into ACS

i have a new acs 1120 running 5.1.0.44
i have over 1000 cisco switches to add to this ( good thing i have the unlimted lic) .
All of the switches for the most part are the same type is there a way to bulk import these switches into the ACS? Bascially say hey 192.1.1.1-253 is a certain switch.
The 2nd part of this question is im pretty sure i am going to have to log into ever switch to config it to talk to the ACS any way around that?

What you need to do is as follows:
1) Go to
Network Resources>
Network Devices and AAA Clients. Devices can be imported from here
2) Press File Operations then Add, then Next and "Download "Add" Template"
You will get a file similar to the following (this is what is displayed by default for ACS 5.1)

When I import files (copy from jpeg or copy as DNG from raw, where is the full size original stored?

I have the photos go here file, does LR5 put the untouched original there? Do I need my own file for originals and if so, how does LR5 know where to find the full size original? I have everything working but don't understand where my untouched originals go after import. Say I import off my card to My Pictures/Lightroom Catalog/ Photos go here ..... are my originals there? What if I erase my card now, do I only have partial size negatives basically? I don't understand why LR5 didnt put in an originals do here file that imports the full photo to a stock folder. I am so confused I am about ready to throw out LR5. I even bought your instructional DVD and it doesnt make where the original files location clear, it just repeats that LT5 does NOT import the original, just thumbnail and instructions, where is the program getting the photo when I double click to open it , or am I only seeing a lower resolution version of the photo and the full res is now gone because I formatted the card?

When you import photos, you can choose "Copy" or "Move" or "Copy as DNG", and then select a destination folder on your hard disk. This happens on the right hand side of the Import dialog box. So your original files go to this destination folder.
Alternatively, if your photos are already on your hard disk, you can import by choosing "Add" and the original photos remain in the existing location.
If you're not sure where the photos are, open Lightroom, go to the Library Module, and on the right hand side is the Metadata Panel. Set the dropdown to "Default", and it will show you where your photos are stored. Alternatively, you can right-click on any photo and select "Show In Finder"/"Show in Explorer" and Lightroom will take you to the exact folder where the photo is located.
So, bottom line, you are in total control of where the originals go, and if your forgot where you put them, or made a mistake, you can always find out where they are.
What if I erase my card now, do I only have partial size negatives basically?
If your import was successful, then the photos are now stored on your hard disk. So you have the full size original for Lightroom to work with.

Lightroom does import the original, which means, in Lightroom jargon, that it records the location and metadata about the photo; in other words, Lightroom knows where the photo is, but Lightroom NEVER contains your photo, your photo is ALWAYS stored on the hard disk.
Because Lightroom now knows where your photo is located, it is important that you not manage your photos (move, edit, rename, delete) outside of Lightroom. Photo managements tasks now must be done in Lightroom. (There are advanced methods that let you manage your photos outside of Lightroom, but these would be NOT RECOMMENDED for beginners)
