Act as Proxy option

Hi ALL,
i m using a "Act as Proxy" option in obiee.
i have configured it using following link
"http://debaatobiee.wordpress.com/2009/11/01/obiee-act-as-proxy-feature/"
but when i select "Act as" option from adminitrator setting then i get following error.
"This functionality has not been correctly configured by your administrator (Can't retrieve the list of target users).
The account entered does not exist or you do not have permission to view this account."
Pls help me to solve this issue.

I hv started all sevices properly and i m nt using SSO.
but i tried it and i got some success. and still i hv a problem.
in my case proxy_table is:
PROXY_USER TARGET_USER ACCESS_TYP
proxyuser1 targetuser1 FULL
proxyuser2 targetuser2 restricted
proxyuser3 targetuser3 full
proxyuser1 targetuser4 restricted
when i login with proxyuser1 then i can see targetuser1,targetuser4.
when act as targetuser1 then proxyuser1 can see the dashboard created by targetuser1 but cant not edit it.
while ACCESS_TYP for targetuser1 is FULL.

Hi,
You probably have "Required for authentication" option checked in your init block and for some reason this init block failed.
1. Check DB connection
2. Try for a moment to uncheck "Required for authentication" option and see wha hapens.
3. Maybe there is user name spelling problem in your PROXY table

OBIEE 10g Act-As Proxy Error

Hi,
I have configured the “act-as” proxy function in OBIEE 10.1.3.4.1 and from the drop down list I am ok to act-as for some users but for some the following error appears (and I am logged out of Answers):
Unable to Log In
Odbc driver returned an error (SQLDriverConnectW).
Error Details
Error Codes: OPR4ONWY:U9IM8TAC
State: 08004. Code: 10018. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: 08004]
[nQSError: 10018] Access for the requested connection is refused.
[nQSError: 13023] An external user ‘A33369′ can not run as an internal user ‘K2824′. (08004)
Any ideas why this error comes for some users and what I need to do to mitigate?
I have checked the proxy users table in the DW and there is a row for A33369 and K2824.

Exchange 2013 pre-authentication & Reverse Proxy Options

Hello,
I wanted to see if anyone has any suggestions on reverse proxy options that can do pre-authentication like TMG use to do? I am currently trying to deploy out a new Excahnge 2013 setup in coexistence with an existing Exchange 2010 environment
which will then be migrated over. And one of the requirements is to block certain users from accessing webmail externally while still allowing others to access webmail. That is currently achieved by using a TMG server but that is going to be decommissioned
along with Exchange 2010.
I have been searching online but so far I have not found anything that seemed to meet this requirement. I have seen that IIS Web Application Proxy tied in with AD FS would do the job. But there is some issue there with Excahnge 2010 still being active that
won't allow it to work. Some suggestions I have seen online involved changing permissions on the IIS directory or modifying web config files but those options didn't seem like they provided a consistent result.
So I am looking for some sort of option that is either inexpensive or some means of leveraging existing Microsoft technologies to achieve my goal any suggestions would be helpful.

Computer acts as if option key is pressed.

I will be working in illustrator and all of a sudden the computer acts like im holding the option key down when Im not.I have an external keyboard and its not a keyboard problem cause when i unplug the keyboard it doesnt fix it. it used to go away after a minute or 2 but now the only way to fix it is to restart. any one know what is causing this?

It may be an issue with the external keyboard ...to rule this out you can try operating in Safe mode for a while...

There is a recent update that addresses keyboard issues ...you can find this via the 'Software Update' link under the Apple Menu in the upper left corner.

Setting up "Act As" proxy functionality in 11g

I have scoured the internet and this forum without resolving this problem so thought I would ask here. I have setup the "Act As" configuration on the server but cannot get it work. Whatever I do I receive the "This functionality has not been enabled by your administrator." message. There are no errors in sawlog0.log or NQServer.log. I have gone over and over the XML (posted below). I even introduced errors into the XML configuration files which did throw an error when they could not be parsed. The session variables have been created and the RPD can get to the proxy table. The users involved have the proxy right. Any ideas? It is probably something simple but I am not seeing it.

I had seen this and it didn't work either. What I did get to work was going back to the format of this file from v10. This file is still located in the directory from the 11g docs.

Consuming web service:web service proxy option- service call(ECC6.0)

AS POC we have generated web service from BAPI_FLIGHT_GETLIST from ECC6.0.
0.we tested using web browser it was working fine.Then saved the WSDL to local pc
<u>On SYSTEM B</u>
1.I have created proxy using wsdl saved on local pc,
2. Created RFC Destination Type "H" giving the web service path
path : /sap/bc/srt/rfc/sap/ZBAPI_FLIGHT_GETLIST_WSD host & http port number.
3. created Logical port using LPCONFIG adn provided the RFC destination.
4. created service call from abap dynpro by using third option "web service proxy"
then selected the proxy generated above.
when i go to component controller context and see,

       output
           FLIGHT_LIST
            <no elements under this>
Under FLIGHT_LIST i dont see the node Item then list of elements under that.
How to use this in view as such i dont see output individual parameters??
If i use function module and create service call
then i could see properly like and could use it in view.

At client locations, one or more machines on which the product is installed may not have access to internet. I am wondering if we can point the client application to a local BlazeDS which can act as a proxy for a remote BlazeDS.
Especially, what if we use Remoting, instead of HTTPService or Web Service.
What about publish/subscribe messaging?

Reverse proxy OPTIONS request

Hi all,
After recommendation, I am using the reverse proxy in Sun Web Server 7.0 to send requests to my web application in Tomcat. In my Tomcat web.xml, I have configured all requests (no extension or path) to be handled by a dispatcher servlet. I have a session filter which needs the HTTP host to setup the session correctly. This works fine but every so often I get a null pointer exception. On closer inspection, I can see this in the error log:
[28/Sep/2009:22:26:31] info ( 2308): trying to OPTIONS http://localhost:90, check-http-server reports: HTTP7750: server localhost:90 online
Is this the reverse proxy? Can I get round this somehow without changes to my application?

I'd fix the Servlet filter. It sounds broken. I think I may have to do something in the servlet filter like ignore requests with OPTIONS methods. I'll try to give a bit more explanation; we are supporting multiple countries so we have the following domains:
http://uk.mysite.com/
http://fr.mysite.com/
http://de.mysite.com/
etc.
These domains all point to the same webserver and java requests are reverse proxied to the same Tomcat web application as we have a single codebase that serves all countries. The web application session filter will use the country code from the server host (e.g. xx.mysite.com) to setup the session so we can show the correct language to the user.
The reverse proxy setup has been setup like this in obj.conf:

</Object>I use localhost as I don't need to specify any country specific domain here. This works fine but the reverse proxy health check will send localhost as the server host to the tomcat instance. The session filter tries to map localhost in our country lookup mapping which doesnt exist and then throws a null pointer exception.
That said, I get the impression you want to send
requests to a single Tomcat instance on the local host. No, this is just for development purposes. In production we will use the reverse proxy to load balance over 4 JBoss servers so we will need the set origin SAF.

& I have to add one more fileld as select-options in the same screen.
It's in modulpool. Shall i use SCREEN-EXITS for this? what will be the preferable solutions?

Better not to modify standard SAP code. Check for screen exits/ BADI's for this transaction

Original UserId while Acting As Proxy

Hi All,
I am trying to obtain this
1. I login into the analytics as myself. Session USER variable = monika.garg
2. I Act-As <x.y> using the Act-As drop down
3. This resets the USER variable to x.y. My details are lost
4. I am trying to figure out how can I retain originally logged in user email address while Acting-As somebody else.
5. Something of this kind
RUNAS = x.y
Original_USER = monika.garg
Is this possible? I see that clicking on STOP button brings back the original user details and hence BI Server is maintaining it somewhere.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

I found this -
If I capture :USER variable in ProxyBlock itself, then I have the originalUser information.
ProxyBlock definition as suggested in Oracle documentation -

I modified it to -
select targetId,proxyid
from Proxies
where 'VALUEOF(NQ_SESSION.RUNAS)'=targetId and ':USER'=proxyId
But, what I fail to understand that what is the order of init blocks. Because :USER variable carries origianl user in this init block but when I run a report to display :USER variable, it show the target user.
Any inputs?

Editing multicam clips - where is proxy playback option?

Whenever I have been editing Mutlicam clips, I would always choose the "Proxy" option in playback as my media is stored on an external drive. If i didn't, it just wouldn't play smoothy.
After updating I can't seem to find the option to choose proxy and the clips dont play smoothly, playback jerks after a second or two.

Any ideas? If it goes to the trouble of creating proxy media (and the proxy files are indeed still where they should be) - surely there should be a way of using them?
Also - can anyone settle an argument: If a project is edited in 'proxy playback', does that need to be switched off to export in full quality?
I used to think it did, but not sure at all now with 10.1.

Ah! Found it in the top right menu!
Selected 'Proxy' and was greeted with the familiar 'beachball of non response'.
Forced quit as usual and when I relaunched I was back editing in Proxy land!
All is smooth and lovely again!
Now, I wonder if i need to switch it back to get full quality export?
Any ideas?

Exchange 2013 using ARR reverse proxy OWA options won't open

Hi,
I've been using the exchange team's blog post (http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2013/08/05/part-3-reverse-proxy-for-exchange-server-2013-using-iis-arr.aspx)
as a guidelin on configuring my ARR deployment in my lab.
Everything was working perfectly right until i got the last part of the blog on restricting the pattern matches.
The rewrite rules all work fine and everything is working as expected with the excpetion of the fact that i cannot access the options in OWA. ECP itself works great if i access it via the
https://ecp.domain.com/ecp url, but as soon as i use the https//mail.domain.com/ecp it just wont display anything.
Looking at the failed request logs it just shows that it executes a 302 rewrite to ecp.domain.com, which is what i would expect it to base done rewrite rule matching
https://mail.domain.com/ecp to the ecp.domain.com server farm.
If i look at the iis logs it looks like it's getting into some sort of loop (the section below is about a 10% of a single attempt to access the options pages:

Mac book pro keyboard acting as Option + Shift are constantly pressed

Hi guys,
My MBP keyboard is acting as if Option Shift are constantly being pressed. For example, pressing on letters brings up special characters (pressing k will bring up ). I have tried disabling all the modifier keys in "System Preferences", but the result is still the same. I have also tried installing all updates on my OS (Mavericks). The onscreen keyboard acts in the same manner as the physical keyboard, but an external USB keyboard was working as expected.

I have similar issue: both left and right shift keys time to time being pressed, it disappears after a while...but once I couldn't log in as the shift option puts caps lock on....really annoying.
The only reason in my case is the keyboard cleaning that I have done recently...
There is no quick fix for this I am afraid.
Options:
1.Apple replaces the keyboard you pay around £200 I think....
2. Buy new keyboard on Ebay and replace it yourself £40....
