Action 15.0.0.1 of Microsoft.Office.Project.Server.Upgrade.FullFarmDependentProjectDatabaseSequence failed

Hi
I try to upgrade a Project Server 2010 environment to 2013. When I run
upgrade-spprojectwebinstance
it fails with:
Action 15.0.0.1 of Microsoft.Office.Project.Server.Upgrade.FullFarmDependentProjectDatabaseSequence failed
Anyone seen this error?
Thanks

Hi Xtenser
try to check the ULS log. There might be a hint, that there is a blocking job in the Project Server Queue. This can block the upgrade process.

    Hi,
Do you get and error when the command is executed or when you try to start the execution (the command is not valid)?
If you get the error when you try to start the execution, I would suggest re-typing the command and make sure all parameters are valid.
Please give us the error details if you get the error when the command is running

Anybody ever get any events like this before? I'm not finding much or nothing on Google or on other forums, so I thought I would run it past and see if anyone has experienced anything of a similar
nature. And yes, the farm account obviously has creator/secadmin permissions, at this point of our deployment....
I look forward to any and all feedback. Thanks and good afternoon!

I figured out the answer to this myself. For those few who might run into something akin to my error...
During the off-hours of where I work, I re-applied the farm account credentials to all dB server VM SQL services that had the account for a log-on (i.e., MSSQLSERVER, SQLSERVERAGENT, etc.) as well as all SharePoint services on our WFE/App Server VM (a two
server farm is what we host), in that order. Then I rebooted the dB server first, followed by the SharePoint server. Upon coming back, everything was working fine again. I was able to provision a site, no probelm, and it seemed to even be a little snappier
    when doing so.
One note: doing this procedure gave me a "One or more services have started or stopped unexpectedly" error in the Health Analyzer, for the SPTimerV4 service. When you get this, simply enter into the item and click on "Reanalyze Now;" this will quickly clear
the error out of the Analyzer, and all should be right with the world! :)

    Hi Mubarak,
Please firstly make sure you installed SharePoint Foundation 2010 with SP2 in a Windows Server 2012 R2. Since only SP2 slipstream installations are supported on Windows Server 2012 R2

  • Software Updates: Microsoft Office, Quicken, Macromedia Flash Player fail

Over the past three months or so I have been prompted to install updates of Microsoft office, Quiken for Mac and now yesterday Adobe Flash Player. In each instance I have been unsuccessful in installation due to the fact that the installation reaches 4 more components to be installed and remains continually searching Mac HD for files to update. Eventually I have to cancel and am unable to install the updates.
As this has happened now with three different applications, I suspect that each is looking for a common folder within Mac OSX to update which it can't find. Any ideas what might be missing?

For Adobe Flash Player plugin, there should be three things in Macintosh HD/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/: Flash Player Enabler.plugin, Flash Player.plugin, and flashplayer.xpt. There is also a "Macromedia" folder in Users/Home/Library/Preferences/ I don't know if that is what you are looking for but those are things I have on my computer.

  • Microsoft Office 2008 SP1 Upgrade Problem

    Hi,
I have Office 2008 running perfectly on my computer, and just recently downloaded the two upgrades from the MS website for SP1 12.1.0 and then the latest update for 12.1.3. However, when I install 12.1.0, every time I try to open an MS application, it pops up with the setup assistant, asks me to register, closes, asks to check for updates, and then quits. It won't let any programs run. If I do a fresh install of Office 2008, it works again. The minute I upgrade, it stops.
    Any ideas?

I had a problem installing 12.1.3 yesterday and had to completely uninstall MS Office before it would successfully install. I would suggest calling MS Support, they will coach you on the correct way to fully uninstall Office 2008 and then assist on how to install it so the update works. It took me about 40 minutes on the phone yesterday but it was solved. The phone number I used was (866) 474-4882.
    Gotta love Microsoft software...not!

    Hi,
In regarding of the issue, we may go to File, Options, add-Ins and where it says Manage ( Com Add- ins) click the Go button and make sure the Bluetooth option is not selected first.
Then, we'd better collect the detailed information.
Collect the ULS log from SharePoint.
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/opal/archive/2009/12/22/uls-viewer-for-sharepoint-2010-troubleshooting.aspx
Go the Event Viewer and get the Project client Event log.

We could analyse the log ourselves or upload them in the thread.
    Hope it's helpful.

It's recommended to download and install
Configuration Analyzer Tool (OffCAT), which is developed by Microsoft Support teams. Once the tool is installed, you can run it at any time to scan for hundreds of known issues in Office

  • Need help with Microsoft Office for Mac upgrade question.

My MacBook died, great computer after six years! I just purchased my new MacBook Pro last night. I noticed that the MacBook Pro/OS X Lion does not support PPC software as I was trying to install MS Office 2004, which I have the 2008 upgrade for. Since the 2008 is just the upgrade it wants a previous version already installed and I cannot install 2004 MS Office, does this mean that I have to start over and just buy MS Office 2011?

I'm afraid so. Too bad you didn't apply the 2008 upgrade while your old MacBook was working. Then you could have migrated 2008 to the new machine from the MacBook's hard drive even if the rest of the MacBook was dead.

  • Project Server 2013 - Out of Office Sync - Only two months in future?!?

    Hello there guys,
after Long Long search for the problem, I've found out that our Project Server 2013 only syncs the out of Office time from our Exchange Calendar for the next two months.
But for our Project planning we Need of course a more longtime synchronization, at least 6 or better 12 months.
I didnt find any Option where I could set it to sync more then 2 months of the out of Office times in the calendars.
I've spent already so much time on this Problem... When I set the Project Server time 2 weeks(!) in the future, then the sync will also sync two more weeks in the future, but not more.
The timesheet periods are also set for the next 12 month.
Does anybody have an Information/help regarding this Problem for me?
How can I set the Out of Office sync to synchronize more then just 2 months?
    THANK YOU VERY MUCh!!
    Regards
    Lukas Meyer
PS: Using the current October 2013 CU.

I've searched the Verbose Log and found the following:
    12/17/2013 14:38:16.32 Microsoft.Office.Project.Server (0x0928) 0x1A6C Project Server Exchange Sync aaubf Verbose PWA:https://servername/PWA, ServiceApp:Project Server-Dienstanwendung, User:PROJECTSERVER\system,

So the Project Server is only asking for two months of User Availability on the Exchange. Where can I Change this Setting so that the Project Server syncs more then 2 months?
Otherwise this functionality is quite useless in my view as we are planning our Projects longer then only 2 months...
    Thank you!

  • I've upgraded to mountain lion and now cannot use microsoft office--what happened?

I've upgraded to ox Mountain Lion and now cannot use any of my Microsoft office software.  What happened?

It appears that you upgraded your computer to Mountain Lion and were using Microsoft Office 2004.  In the short term, if you need to open and modify Word files, go to the file in the Finder and Control-Click on it.  A menu will come up: go to Open With... and select TextEdit.  This should allow you to open, modify and save the file for the short term.
You can do the same trick to open Microsoft Excel files in Preview and print them; but I do not think you can modify them in this way.
Workarounds for Microsoft Office 2004 since upgrading to Mountain Lion:
    1.  Upgrade to Microsoft Office 2011.  This version works in Mountain Lion.  However some of your legacy 2004 files may convert badly.
    2.  Restore the version of OS X that you were using before Mountain Lion.
    3.  Partition your hard drive and/or attach an external hard drive and install Snow Leopard on it and use the 'dual-boot' method of booting into Mountain Lion when you need it and booting into Snow Leopard when you need to run your PowerPC applications such as Microsoft Office 2004.
    4.  The method I use, which allows me to run my PowerPC applications concurrently with Lion:  I installed Snow Leopard (with Rosetta) into Parallels 7 in Lion:
