Action continue shortcut
Hello,
I'm a professional photographer and use a lot of actions in photoshop. When I integrate a stop, do an alteration and then want to continue my action, I every time have to use my mouse to click the play button in the bottom of the action frame. I'm looking for a keyboard shortcut. You can program one but then you have to use it for every line in your action. It doesn't automatically continue to the next stop, like the button on the bottom of the action frame does. Is there a shortcut for? Or an other way to resolve it?
Thank you
Bart
You could break up your action in several portions, and assign shortcuts for each action. Crude, but it works.

PS5 Action Keyboard Shortcuts Not Working
PS5 Action Keyboard Shortcuts Not Working -- Running 10.6.7 on a Mac Pro. Any suggestions?
I've tried restarting, changing key combinations, etc. Nothing works and I'm wasting time using my mouse...
Any help is greatly appreciated.I had this problem too but using Windows 7. I tried resetting, renaming the shortcuts, swearing loudly, none of it worked. I found out it was a totally unrelated program, Xfinity Protection Suite, that was the culprit. My virus protection program added it as an 'upgrade.' AFter I uninstalled it everything was back to normal. Have you installed anything new onto your computer lately that could be interfering?

Action Options (shortcut keys) disappear
I'm setting up shortcut keys for actions on a new Mac Pro (the garbage can model). When I close photoshop then reopen it, the shortcuts are gone. The action is still there but the shortcut associated with it is gone.
Any ideas?
It's really that simple. Create action. In the actions menu, select the action and "action options". Create shortcut. Run action with shortcut. Close Photoshop. Reopen. It's gone.Have you tried repairing permissions?

Have you saved your Actions as atn-files? If you reliad those do they store the shortcuts? -
How can I keep a background action continue on a slide
I bought a set of motion backgrounds from Graphic Node - short movies I can insert into Keynote presentations.
The instructions tell me that if I want them to have continuous playing, I need to chose Quicktime Inspectore and select Loop under the Repeat pop-up. I can't find that. Any hints where I might access that?
I have written to the company and have not heard back.If you are using Keynote 6.1
Inspector > Format > Movie > Repeat; then from the dropdown menu select: Loop
You will also need to set this:
Inspector > Animate > Build Order > then from dropdown menu select: Start After Transition
The Inspector is the side panel on the right hand side.
If your using Keynote 5.3 or earlier, command I (the letter I) shows the Inspector panel. -
Is there a way to trigger an action on or after a specific date?
Hi,
I wanted to set up AS3 to trigger an action on or after specific dates (quarterly, 1/1, 4/1, 7/1, 10/1). Is this possible?
I can script getting today's date, but I am not sure how to script: if today's date is greater than or equal to (>=) one of these quarterly dates (greater than is essential since the video may not run on the specified date, so greater than is needed). Year is not needed, since the goal is quarterly action. But, would need to start over each new year, so quarterly action continues each year. Can't seem to get my brain around how to construct this and how to script it.
Any help appreciated.if you can accept the user's date, you can compare the user's date's time property with your date's time property:
var triggerDate=new Date(2013,0,1);
var userDate=new Date();
if(userDate.time>triggerDate.time){

Buggy action - 'the command "high pass" is not currently available'
Hi, I've recently been speedtesting a couple of mac minis with different RAM and scratch configurations. To speedtest I'm running a Photoshop action.
Today, I added 16Gb RAM (2 x 8Gb) to a 2011 i7 2.7 ghz mac mini and discovered that my previously well functioning speedtest action gets stuck at the High Pass filter step. It pops up a warning - 'the command "high pass" is not currently available'. If I then highlight the high pass stage in the action palette and click play, the filter works and the action continues.
I googled and found a suggestion to reinstall Photoshop. I did this and the action completed properly - but only once. When I tried to run it again it got stuck as before, at the high pass filter stage.
Any ideas?
(The steps in the action prior to this problem: background layer duplicated (layer via copy), image mode from 16bit to 8 bit, unsharp mask on copied layer... then i'm wanting to run the high pass on the same layer, but it stops...)Boilerplate-text:
Are Photoshop and OS fully updated?
As with all unexplainable Photoshop-problems you might try trashing the prefs (after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved and making a note of the Preferences you’ve changed) by keeping command-alt-shift pressed on starting the program or starting from a new user-account.
System Maintenance (repairing permissions, purging PRAM, running cron-scripts, cleaning caches, etc.) might also be beneficial, Onyx has been recommended for such tasks.
http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/system_disk_utilities/onyx.html
Weeding out bad fonts never seems to be a bad idea, either. (Validate your fonts in Font Book and remove the bad ones.)
If 3rd party plug-ins are installed try disabling them to verify if one of those may be responsible for the problem. -
Hi everybody,
I'm refactoring an application to deal with Actions, and I've run into a slightly confusing situation. (I would have put this in the Swing forum, but technically it doesn't involve a Swing problem, just a conceptual Actions question.)
I need to create menus on a MenuBar, and thus far, I'm doing it with a for loop, like this:
for( condition ) { create; }The problem with that approach is that it doesn't seem to offer a lot of flexibility. For each menu item, I have a string read in from a file formatted like this:
Item Text=InfoTip=Action=Keyboard Shortcut (where applicable)OK, so after all this rambling, my question is this:
It doesn't appear that you can transfer a string (ie. "Action" in the above string) into a direct function call to an action. The only way I can think of to make this happen is to map strings to actions and check with a lot of if statements, like this:
for( condition )
// Split string on "="
// Create menu with array[0]
// Add infotip from array[1]
// Add shortcut if applicable from array]3]
// Check all possibilities for action string
if string is "blah", add this action to the item
if string is "zz", add a different action to the item
etc.
}It seems to me that there must be an easier way to add the actions, but I can't think of it. Can anyone give me some ideas, please?
Thanks,
Jezzica85Create a Map<String, Action> and put pairings of your action strings with their respective action classes before they're used to create your menu items. Something like private final Map<String, Action> actions = new HashMap<String, Action>();
actions.put("fileopen", new FileOpenAction());
actions.put("filesave", new FileSaveAction());
} then you can assign action actions.get(array[2]) to the new component in create(), avoiding the if statement.

For my project, after the end user completes the quiz, when
they "Click anywhere to continue" I want the next URL to open in
the current window, not a new window.
I have established the following settings under
Edit/Preferences/Project/Start and End:
Project End Options:
Action: Open URL or File
Open URL or File: A URL link with browser option set to
"Current"
The current Quiz/Pass or Fail settings are:
If passing grade:
Action: Continue
At one point I had also tried for the Quiz/Pass or Fail
settings:
Open URL or File: A URL link with browser option set to
"Current"
No combination of the three has seemed to work successfully
to have the URL open in the same browser window; it keeps opening
in a new window.
I am still pretty new at using Adobe Captivate, so any
suggestions would be grately appreciated.
Thanks!
SuzannaHi Suzanna and welcome to our community
What version of Captivate are you using? I'm using version 3
and tested this in both IE and Firefox and both versions seem to
behave as you are wanting.
I guess I should also ask what your output is. Is it .SWF or
.EXE. If it's .EXE, I'm doubtful you will be able to avoid the
separate browser window.

How to override confirmation message as part of batch action?
I have created an action in Illustrator CS5 that ungroups a radar graph and deletes the axis lines. And I would like to run this action on a batch of 100 files. The problem I am having is that when I run the action, I get the following pop-up message at the ungroup command:
If I click OK, the action continues. But, as part of a batch, it becomes a bit tedious to have to click "OK" 100 times, and it sort of defeats the purpose of running the action as a batch.
I see options in the batch window to override action "Save As" and "Export" commands, but is there a way to have the batch override this confirmation message? I suspect there may be a way to do this with a script, but I am not proficient enough with scripting yet to take that route.
Thanks for looking at my questions.
NWOne year of patience. That's commendable …
Neil, I have not done what you did, but my suggestion would be to take the Flatten Transparency command instead of the Ungroup command in your action.
You should get the same result – that is, ungrouped (expanded) graph objects – if you carefully set up the Flatten Transparency dialog. -
Can you make a fully automated Action using Save for Web? - Illustrator CC
I have been trying to create a simple action using the Save for Web feature. When I run the created action it stops on the Save to Web window until I click on "Save" then it brings up the finder window asking me to select where to save it and I then have to click "Save" At that point the Action continues to run and completes.
I'm using this process to export JPEGs of client labels for an web based government submission. The guidelines are pretty tight and the Save for Web gives me the best results for File Size, Image Size, and Quality... basically the files have to be small, but legible. Our files are organized in a Client/Project/SKU structure so batch processing with the Export command is not really an option.
I have created many actions & batches over the years, but never had this kind of issue with such a simple action. Is there a way to bypass these prompt similarly to what a batch would do?I would love to know the answer to this as well. I am having the exact same issue. Super annoying

Edit action on purple submit button
I am creating interactive PDF forms, and I see that Acrobat adds a submit button in the purple message bar, but how do I add or edit the action for that submit button? It is only visible when in preview mode so I am unable to double click and add an action (such as email) like when creating a new button within Properties.
No Jay. The embedded buttons on quiz slides are not normal buttons.
If you tell what you want to achieve? Because after the two-step process (submitting) either the action specified under Success or Last Attempt will be executed. You can replace the default action 'Continue' by an Advanced action.

In all previous versions of Illustrator I had saved Actions. One Action that saved as a PDF into a certain folder. In Illustrator CC the location in the Script isn't remembered in the action. It is there when I create the Script and it works fine. But as soon as I quit and open Illustrator again, the scripts don't work. When I run them, it asks me for the save location.
So, this is obviously a work-around and somewhat untested at this point, but we've seen success with the method I reported earlier.
1. Load AI as normal (on first load, basically)
2. Open the Actions Panel
3. Leave the "Default Actions" in place
- this does NOT mean simply leaving the file in places in the .../Presets/en_US/Actions folder
- the "Default Actions" .aia file is in place automatically, so long as nothing else has been changed
4. Load other sets, as needed (other .aia files)
- here, our action sets are well-established... they were re-saved for CC without much change from CS6
- they contain between 6 and 20 actions, per set
On re-starting AI or re-starting the computer and re-loading AI, everything that was loaded stays in place. The individual parts of actions continue to work and no steps are "lost".
I have tested this on 3 machines so far with some success. I have 5 "testers" working through this today, who will ultimately put the application and this work around thorugh its paces in a much more thorough manner. Within a week, I'll be able to report more definitively on the success of this work around. -
Make Captivate behave more like Powerpoint?
Hey all,
I'm working on a project where we want to use Captivate as our platform (so it's HTML-friendly and responsive), but we'd like for it to behave more like Powerpoint. The two main features we'd like to have are:
Allow for a mouse-click anywhere on the screen and/or keyboard shortcut to advance the presentation, rather than having to click a specific button to continue
Allow for there to be objects that appear in succession on the same slide. If there's a square, a circle, and a triangle on a slide, what's the best process for having them fade in one at a time? It seems like click boxes and pausing might be the way that we have to do this, but I'm hoping there's an easier alternative. (or one that makes more sense to me)
Any help is greatly appreciated.
ThanksYou need only a click box if you want to control the appearance of the next object by a click. If they can appear automatically after each other (in sequence, is also possible in PPT) you don't need click boxes. Here is a pretty complicated example, where I needed clicks for a presentation on an Adobe Summit:
You see 4 click boxes, which I put on top of each other on a specific location of the slide, which is possible because they are staggered, not active at the same moment. They have the action 'Continue'. I didn't put them over the whole slide, because there was also a shape button functioning as Next button that is not visible here because it is on the first slide, timed for the rest of the project. -
ASA 5510 with Cisco 2811 Router Behind it - Not forwarding traffic
Hi all,
Some might know that I have been dealing with an issue where I cannot seem to get forwarded packets to reach their destinations behind an ASA 5510 that has a Cisco 2811 connected directly behind it.
Some examples that work.
I can SSH into the ASA.
I can SSH to the Cisco Routers behind the ASA.
I cannot reach items beind the Cisco Routers.
My Configuration is this (I am sure I included a bunch of info I didn't need to, but I am hoping it'll help!):
I have a static Ip assigned to my Ouside Interface Ethernet 0/1
It has an IP address of 199.195.xxx.xxx
I am trying to learn how to shape network traffic (this is all new to me) via the ASA and the Routers to specific devices.
The Inside Interface on the ASA is 10.10.1.1 255.255.255.252
The Outside Interface on the 2811 is 10.10.1.2 255.255.255.252
I can ping the router from the ASA. I can SSH through the ASA to the router.
BUT I CANNOT ACCESS DEVICES BEHIND THE ROUTER.
So, I wanted to BAM that statement above because I just don't kjnow where the issue is. Is the issue on the router or the ASA, my guess is, the router, but I just don't know.
Here are my configs, helpfully someone can help.
ASA errors on the ASDM when I try and hit resources; specifically a web device behind the ASA and the 2811. It's Ip address 192.168.1.5 it's listening on port 80.Static IP, not assigned via DHCP.

no message-leI ran those commands while I had the nat off on the router and here are the results. note, i didn't make any changes to the ASA as you only said to remove the router RIP which I did and reloaded and no change.
As long as the statements ip nat outside on the Fastethernet 0/0 is off and the ip nat inside is off on the vlan and the overload statement is taken out, I cannot hit the internet.

Error: USer request cancel of current operatin
Hi,
My database is in 10.2.0 and OS is Windows 2003. We are having some inhouse MIS reports. One report was running earlier without any error. But past few days I am getting the following error:
Can any one help me.
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80040e31'
[Oracle][ODBC][Ora]ORA-01013: user requested cancel of current operation
/mis/procedures.asp, line 291
thankyou
satyanagORA-01013 user requested cancel of current operation
Cause: The user interrupted an Oracle operation by entering CTRL-C, Control-C, or another canceling operation. This forces the current operation to end. This is an informational message only.
Action: Continue with the next operation.
So it means that you need to check back with the application. If its coming from the MIS than check back what's happening in the file that is given in the error.
Aman....
