Action link help OBIEE 11g

When I change the Column Properties --> Interaction --> Values to "Action Link", and choose a detail level report within the "Navigate to BI" the link does not work properly in the analysis.
For example, one team will show 3 records. When I click on the "3", it takes me to the entire detail level report, rather than just those 3 records. How do I correct this?

You said one team shows 3 records. Did you put Team Name as prompted in the detail report?
Please add all dimensions in the detail report as prompted in the filter section to pick values from the summary.

Conditional option for Action link in OBIEE 11G

Action Link in obiee 11g for a Hierarchy Drill Down Level

Requirement is:
We have a Time Dimension Hierarchy with drill down Levels(Year, Qtr, Month, Day). So now i wanted to provide an action link on detailed column(day) which will navigate to other report. I have tried doing it but unable to get the actual solution.
Can anyone throw some ideas on how to achieve this.

Can u tell me whats the error you r getting over ther,
Use the hierarchy flow, starts with the + symbol,
edit the column properties and go for interaction tab and give action link + drill
check the columns between the 2 reports and assign prompts between the reports then you can get the correct one.

Question regarding GO URL link with &Action=Navigate in OBIEE 11g

Actually I am working with the GO URL Links in OBIEE 11g.When I am trying to use the link as
&Action=Navigate&p0=3&p1=bet&p2="Time%20Periods".Date&p3=2+ '01/01/2011'+'01/31/2011'
The data is not getting filtered.It is giving me all the data which I don't need also..Is this a bug or am I doing any mistakes..Please let me know..

Actually I have a few parameters or filters and I am using those filters in the GO URL Link but that filters when I am applying in
&Action=Extract it is working properly.But When I am trying the same with &Action=Navigae it is not gining me the results what I want..

Actionable Framework in OBIEE 11g

I have a queryon the "Actionable Intelligence" in OBIEE 11g. I came to know we can invoke external bussiness applications in OBIEE through these. We have a .NET application which we want to invoke in OBIEE presentation through this. It should be a link in a dashboard clicking on which should open the application for us. Can anyone please brief me the steps how to achieve this.

It can be done by doing below steps.
1) before doing this take a backup of instanconfig.xml file and do the below changes...
You can configure various options that change the way that right-click interactions are handled in views for an analysis at runtime. The elements in the instanceconfig.xml file specify the default settings for a new or upgraded analysis. You can edit the properties of an analysis in Presentation Services to modify how the analysis handles right-click interactions in views.
Before you begin this procedure, ensure that you are familiar with the information in Section 3.4, "Using a Text Editor to Update Configuration Settings."
To manually configure for interactions in views:

How to pass values of the prompt through Action Link - URL in 11g

Hi All,
I am in OBIEE 11g v6.
Let's say, I have two dashbaord pages P1 and P2.
P1 page contains
1. Prompt PR1 - containing a single column EmpName
2. Report R1
P2 page contains
1. Prompt PR2 - containing a single column EmpName (same column as in PR1)
2. Report R2
Requirement :
Let's say a user select a value = David from the EmpName column in prompt PR1. In the Report R1, on one the measure columns 'Sales', I am using an action link - Navigate to URL ( I can't use Navigate to BI Content for some reasons). In the URL, I am giving the URL to page P2. Can I pass the selected value (which is David) to the EmpName column of the Prompt PR2 of Page P2 so that Report R2 is automatically limited by David when I land on that page through the URL?
Few things to consider are, I can't use EmpName column in my report R1 on page P1, I just want to pass the value of a common column from one prompt on Page1 to another prompt on Page2. Is that possible. Can anybody please help?

Hmm can you give a try one more time with
Add EmpName name and hide it on report R1 on page P1
and set EmpName as Is Prompted on report R2 on page P2 and with my earlier steps should work.
Other option is read this doc once that helps you how to pass value thru url.

Link to OBIEE 11g Dashboard Page from a 10g Dashboard Page

Hi all,
Is it possible to place a Link object on a dashboard page (within OBIEE 10g) and have that navigate to an OBIEE 11g dashboard page?
If so, how is that implemented?
Our 11g and 10g environments are on different servers.
For business reasons (and budgets) we are not migrating our entire 10g environment to 11g just yet.

I wanted to know whether the action framework in OBIEE allows us to perform some post processing on a report. I need to first obtain a report in OBIEE then swap values in a column based on a mapping table and then email the report to a list of users.

How to create Action links in OBIEE 10.1.3.4.1

I have a requirement where they need a action link to sibel data but in 10 g there is no option in drill down of Value interaction for coloumn values ,how to create it in 10g can any tell me all step by step procedure?

I don't know how it can be done with JDev 10. However, JDev 9 provides automatic stub generation for web services.
In JDev 9 its in file > New > stub for web service(As I remember).
I just checke with JDev 10 help.
Download the .wsdl file,
Include .wsdl in project
Right click .wsdl and generate stub.

Report Links in OBIEE 11g Dashboard not displayed correctly

In the Dashboard pages the Report Links for Export are not displayed correctly .
Instead of showing the multiple options for export/download it shows just text.

It can be done by doing below steps.

OBIEE 11g Action Link translation issue

Hi All,
I have a translation issue with the Action links in OBIEE 11.1.1.5 version.
The pop-up which is displayed on clicking the column having action link is not getting translated. This seems to be the issue with all the action links.
All other catalog objects, captions etc are translated properly.
Has anyone faced similar issues ? Is there a workaround for this ?

Action links are not getting translated. I faced a similar problem in OBIEE 11.1.1.6 version.
What you can do is replace that action link with a 'link or image' option in dashboard objects.
'Link or Image' types of object get translated in OBIEE 11.1.1.5 as well as OBIEE 11.1.1.6 version.

OBIEE 11g Actions and SSL

Hi,
I am attempting to use the action framework within OBIEE 11g, specifically invoke a web service. When I go to New -> Action I get a server error:
An error occured during processing of the SSL protocol
1093359936:error:14090086:SSL routines:SSL3_GET_SERVER_CERTIFICATE:certificate verify failed:s3_clnt.c:1059
The log viewer in Enterprise Manager gives us
UNKNOWN_CA alert received from [HOST] - [IPADDRESS]. The peer is rejecting the certificate chain as being untrusted or incomplete.
We have SSL on and it is working fine everywhere apart from when I try to create the action. I (and my colleagues) have trawled through all the documentation and googled everything we can think of with no success. Has anyone else seen this or maybe has an idea as to what is going on?

Thanks for your reply. The BI system is SSl secured so is running over https but I don't even get a chance to select any web service, SSL or not, (or even put in a wsdl url) as the error occurs directly I click on anything that creates a new action. It is therefore an issue with SSL on the BI server itself (or the communication between components) but I am stumped to what it can be.

How to remove the "text link" of an action link

Hi everyone,
after searching the forum and web with no luck, I need help on this topic. I'm working with many reports which link to others dashboards. These dashboards were created in OBIEE 10 and migrated to 11.1.1.3.
What we wanted to do (and achieved in 10g) was to be able to click on some data (on a value of a graph, a value/column header in a table) and navigate to another dashboard. OBIEE 11g does this from the Criteria tab --> Column properties --> Interaction and selecting Action Links.
In 11g, when doing this Action Links and clicking on a value, appears a "text link" ( screenshot : [https://picasaweb.google.com/102130000310148493868/Screenshots#5646178057282726354] ), so the user would need to do 2 clicks (one on the value and other in the text link).
Is there any way to remove this Text Link? It can be a bit annoying if there is always one option, and needless.

Hi Elena!
In teh Interaction Tab (in the Column Properties window), once you create the action,you will right there a check box that says: "Do not display in a popup if only one action link is available at runtime". Clik on the check box, and you are ready to go!
