Action sequence using PS Elements 10

Hello Group, first post here anyway, I am trying to make an "Action sequence" picture using PS Elements 10, example: I took a few pictures of a guy surfing and what I would like is to merge 3 or 4 shots into one picture (I hope I explained this right) SO what I would end up with would be a guy surfing on the same wave but it would show him on it in 4 different places although its just the same wave.
                  Thanks, James

I am using Windows 7.  I think that the best path might be a third party conversion program.  Do you have a recommendation?
Thanks,
Fred Czerner

  • Using the same action sequence with multiple buttons and exclusive conditional interactions

    Hi all,
first of all, pardon me for my english and if I post questions already answered, but I can't find anything about that.
I'm new to flash and I decided to use Flash Catalyst to speed up the building process of a multimedia presentation for university.
I have a menu with 10 buttons that change a text box on rollover (I converted it to a button label) and I need to reset the name of the current page on RollOut. Since the action sequence for it is the same of every button on one page, is there a faster way to apply the sequence than repeating it for every button? (I had to do it 10x10=100 times... and what if I made some mistake? )
Another question is I want to disable the interaction of the menu button of the current page, but conditional interaction let me choose only an "if in state" condition an not a "if not in state". How can I do this? should I simply disable the button on that page?
Thanks a lot for the help!
    Cheers from Italy

I answered to myself by grouping buttons and disabling the button in his state.
    Thanks anyway!

  • How do I use Premiere Elements 9 to synch and mix 2 video feeds?

I am trying to put together a wrestling television show using Premiere Elements 9. We use 2 different cameras, a stationary hard camera and a moving ring camera. In the past I have used an Avio system where I manually synched the 2 feeds and then I was able to drag and drop the ring camera feed on to the stationary hard camera.  How do I do this function using this software? Thanks!

    Welcome to the forum.
Unfortunately, PrE does not have direct multi-cam functionality. PrPro does, allowing one to sync up to 4 cameras, and if you Nest Multi-camera Sequences, you can do more, though not quite so easily as with four.
With PrE, it's probably easiest to place your main camera Clip(s) on Video Track 1, and edit that as needed. Then, bring in the second camera's Clip(s) onto Video Track 2, and reduce the Fixed Effect>Opacity to ~ 40 - 50%, so that you can "see through" them. Then, adjust those, Trimming, as desired, leaving gaps between them. When done, change the Effect>Opacity back to 100%. Transitions can then be applied, if desired, to the Head & Tail of each of those Video Track 2 Clips.
So long as the footage from the two cameras is the same Frame Size, and also matches the Project's Preset Frame Size, nothing more needs to be done, as the footage on Video Track 2 will just visually replace any Frames on Video Track 1.
If you do much multi-cam work, PrPro might be a great investment, as it's Multi-Camera feature will make life so very, very easy.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
PS - it seems that a few months ago, there was another multi-cam question here, and that Steve Grisetti had a slightly different workflow, than the one that I described. I will post a link to that thread, if I can find it.

  • Issue with order or sequence of wbs elements appearance in planning layout

    Hi Experts
we have an issue with order or sequence of wbs elements appearance in BPS planning layout.
In BW - 0wbs element -  hierarchy order is as below
    1
    2
    3
    4
    5
    6
    7
    8
but when we check the same wbs element in BPS planning layout, it appears as below
    1
    2
    3
    4
    6
    7
    5
    8
Request you to advice how to correct the order.
    Best Regards
    krishna

    Hi,
I came across a similar situation once. I dont remember exactly.
We have two different DataSources on wbs hierarchy. The hiearchy was loaded using the two datasources.
By mistake we were trying to use the hierarchy created by Datasource2, instead of hier created by datasource1.
    Can you check that.

  • Got action sequence to "loop" but it shows in all states - conditional statement to fix it?

Using Flash Catalyst & Notepad (to open and alter the code in the "Main" MXML file) I'm able to "loop" an action sequence on the home state for my swf by changing the code as follows:
    ORIGINAL CODE
    <s:Parallel id="Sequence3">
    ALTERED CODE
    <s:Parallel id="Sequence3" effectEnd="Sequence3.play()">
The desired effect is a sequence (of 4 images) that loops whenever a user is viewing the home state.  It is activated "On Application Start"
The PROBLEM is that the loop continues in all other states (it appears in the background - behind the objects that are supposed to show up on the other pages and only begins to show up in each state when the sequence begins another loop).
I am assuming I need a conditional statement --- something along the lines of:
    while (condition){ statements;}
...in other words, ONLY while currentstate = "Home" it should loop the sequence. What would be the correct code for this conditional statement and where would the conditional statement be inserted to loop the sequence as desired???  Or... is there another better way??
My current code for this action sequence is:
    <s:Parallel id="Sequence3" effectEnd="Sequence3.play()">

    Thank you!!!!!!!!

    Figured out my issue...
I had to select each layer for the 4 photo sequence and "Remove From State" for each layer.  If this is done with all layers except the "Home" state, the images show only where appropriate.
So...   "Loop an action sequence" is really easy.
I've seen a lot of complaining that "FC can't do it" but with a very simple code mod, I was able to do it WITHOUT using the video timer method.
I should also mention that I've never worked with Flash at all before this project and am only self-taught in HTML (basics).  I was able to make a pretty good looking Flash component for a web site and never would have attempted it without FC.  I have to say, while FC is a bit limited, GUI-based Flash is a great add for Adobe and will save me over $2k per year in web admin.

    Editing MXML Documents
To edit your projects MXML documents we first need to find the path to  the Flash Catalyst workspace. To do this publish your Flash Catalyst  project (CMD / CTRL + ENTER). Now, the browsers URL shows the path to  the project workspace. So in this URL,  "file:///Users/judah/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Flash  Catalyst/workspace/Project/bin-debug/Main.html", the project MXML  documents are located at, "file:///Users/monkeypunch/Library/Application  Support/Adobe/Flash Catalyst/workspace/Project/" when on a Mac.
    Flash Catalyst project files
    Project Files Description
/src - location of the application source files
/bin - the location of any additional flex libraries
/bin-debug - location of testing swf
/html-template - location of the html template that wraps around your application
/src/Main.mxml - the main application file. make your application changes here
/src/Main.css - the css stylesheet of the main application
/src/components - the location of custom components and component skins
/src/assets/graphics - location of optimized FXG graphic symbols
    /src/assets/images - location of images
You can edit these XML documents in any text editor. To apply the  changes you need to save the file and refresh the Flash Catalyst  project. You can do this by opening the changed document in Flash  Catalyst code view. When we do this it will recognize the document has  changed and prompt you to use the newer version of the file. Select Yes.  If the project does not rebuild immediately publish it using CMD +  Enter.

  • How do you do action recording in Photoshop Elements like you can in regular photoshop?

How do you do action recording in Photoshop Elements like you can in regular photoshop?
One of my clients is a club promoter and they would like to put their logo on the bottom left of their photos from their events. Usually I can do this by opening the logo (which has like 50% opacity), copying the logo, recording an action set, pasting the logo i copied to memory into the photo, resize the photo and export and close the photo, save the action set and then just batch- automate and choose all currently opened images to run the action on.
*I mentioned the 50% opacity because I want to put the logo on the photos but not totally hide what's underneath the logo.
How do I do the same with photoshop elements?
    -Line

Just another option that may work for you there are a number of relatively cheap and a couple of freeware programs that are listed here, there are many others I am sure.

I have not used any of these so I can not recommend of course but most have trial versions.

The DVD Creator.dll file was in the proper location but I could not find a Run As Administrator Option.
I did delete Prefs file and try again to open the app then the project and received the same problem.  And the scratch disks were all directed to the Elements 13 path
Yesterday I did try additional solutions
Removed the Elements 13 App vis the Control Panel, copy the original downloaded .zip File to the Desktop and reload the entire application with no success solving the problem
In addition to that I contacted a site called Rescue.com? and the guy told me that he was a representative of Adobe, which I was not sure was the truth.  He looked at my system and told me that Premier 13 was not compatible with Windows 7.  I called BS on him told him that Adobe site said it was compatible and he told me I had a Trojan on my system and he would refund my money for Elements 13 and sell me version 12, which would be compatible, along with a better security system than the Norton 360 I told him I had.  At that point I immediately terminated our communications and called Norton to have additional checks performed to ensure no additions were added to my system.  They had me download and run Power Eraser from them and it found nothing wrong.
I also temporarily turned off the firewall and tried to use the Elements 13 but had no success.
I also went to Microsoft Windows site and searched for the Exception code: 0xc0000005 that was displayed in the event viewer and they indicated there was a hotfix available and they would email me that fix.  ave not received the email yet.
I’m getting very frustrated but thank you for your help.  I will update you with and additional results or actions I get or perform.

  • Why use Lightroom if I'm currently using Photoshop Elements?

Have been using photoshop elements for a long time, but many (most?) nonprofessionals I know are using lightroom, sometimes in conjunction with photoshop suites.  Is there a reason to add lightroom to the arsenal?

For me, and this is just my opinion, Lightroom has better cataloging and
import options but both have strengths and weaknesses. You have a lot of
power to catalog and edit your images using Lightroom/Photoshop but with
that power comes complexity. Some people don't want to deal with moving
their images from Lightroom, to Photoshop and back to Lightroom. However,
if you need to be able to use a complex naming scheme for your images
(dates, places & a sequence number) or nested keywords (tags) or you want
to be able to adjust images on a tablet while away from your main catalog
then Lightroom may be worth investigating. You can download and take it for
    a 30-day spin.

    Order of Troubleshooting...
    (1) Video Card Driver Problem
Does the computer use a NVIDIA GeForcce video card/graphics card? If so, stop and read the announcement at the top of this forum.
It describes the Premiere Elements 10 NVIDIA video card driver problem and gives the fix. For your convenience the following is a
copy/paste of the Announcement. Very important to rule in or out the known Premiere Elements 10 NVIDIA Video Card Driver issue.
Premiere Elements 10 NVIDIA Video Card Driver Roll Back
If you are a Premiere Elements 10 user whose Windows computer uses a NVIDIA GeForce video card and you are experiencing Premiere
Elements 10 display and/or unexplained program behavior, then your first line of troubleshooting needs to be rolling back the video card
driver version instead of assuring that it is up to date.
Since October 2013 to the present, there have been a growing number of reports about display and unexplained workflow glitches specific
to the Premiere Elements 10 user whose Windows computer has a NVIDIA GeForce video card. If this applies to you, then the “user to user”
remedy is to roll back the NVIDIA GeForce video card driver as far as is necessary to get rid of the problems. The typical driver roll back has
gone back as far as March – July 2013 in order to get a working Premiere Elements 10. Neither NVIDIA nor Adobe has taken any corrective
action in this regard to date, and none is expected moving forward.
Since October 2013, the following thread has tried to keep up with the Premiere Elements 10 NVIDIA reports
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1317675
Older NVIDIA GeForce drivers can be found

A February 2014 overview of the situation as well as how to use the older NVIDIA GeForce drivers for the driver roll back can be found

    (2) "Movie" Properties
We need to know the properties of your source media, such as,
    Video compresson
    Audio compression
    Frame Size
    Frame Rate
    Interlaced or Progressive
    File Extension
    Pixel Aspect Ratio
We could direct you to video and audio properties readout programs, but let us see if we can get the information needed from knowing
the brand/model/settings for the camera that recorded the video.
Please check out these 2 important concerns, let us see what you have, and then we can decide what next. The video card driver matter may fix all.
Do not hesitate to ask if there is anything that you need help to understand what is needed.

How do I set the thumbnail image of my videos that export to my computer?  I'm using Premiere Elements 11 on a windows 8.1 PC 64bit.
Or how does Premiere 11 determine where to set the image for the video it is exporting?
I already know how to use Freeze frame and save the image to my computer by Publish+Share/Computer/ Immage.
    Thanks,

This is not Adobe. Rather user to user. We are all visitors here.
Just a bit of history....back in the days of Premiere Elements 4, you could set a "poster frame" in what was called the Project area. You did this by right clicking a blank area there and, from the drop down menu that appeared, selecting View/Preview Area, and using the poster frame feature there.
As I said, when a video imports into Premiere Elements, the thumbnail of the import has been presenting as the first frame of the video. With this Preview area "poster frame" option, you could set the video's thumbnail in the Project area so that the first frame was another frame in the video. But, this "perk" was restricted to thumbnails of the video in Project area.
If you exported to file with the first frame modified video, the export's thumbnail in Windows Explorer would present with other than the real first frame or the poster frame as the first frame.
Also, in more recent versions, I have observed that the export to file does not display the real first frame of the video in Windows Explorer. Seems random, but I have not kept track.
And, remember, at the onset I wrote
As far as I have ever seen, Premiere Elements Windows uses the first frame of the video for its thumbnail in the program.
I know of no way within Premiere Elements to control what the program opts to do in this matter. In some compatibility
issues, it opts to give no image but a generic one.
I did not say that you can expect to have the Premiere Elements' export file's thumbnail in Windows displaying with its real first frame. And, the more you get into this, depending on the versions, more details need to be added to my comment about "...first frame of video for its thumbnail in the program..."
I would have to look into all this further to get perspective on the contributing factors.

Add On...The Poster Frame feature appeared in versions 4, 7, 8, and 9 by my count.

  • When I am using Premiere elements 13 I get a message that pops up "that there is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive", this also happened 3 months ago How can I get rid of this again?

When I am using Premiere Elements 13 I get a message that pops up "There is no disk in the drive" I click on it and it keeps coming back "very annoying", but about three months ago it happened to me and I was told to change the file name from OldFilm.AEX  to OldFilm.AEXold. Well now the file is back in Folder OldFilm.AEX. Here is a screen shot the files are highlighted. What should I do now to correct this once and for all, or can I? Thank you for your time.

I would do another rename to disable or just delete all the OldFilm.AEX and OldFilm.AEXOLD in that NewBlue Folder.
If you do, please let me know if that OldFilm.AEX regenerates itself the next time you open Premiere Elements 13.
Here is the strange story...at least from my Premiere Elements 13 Windows perspective...never had the No Disc error issue
Here are some details to sort through trying to figure out why you have 2 OldFilm.AEX file in the NewBlue Folder.
    1. The original OldFilm.AEX file of Premiere Elements 13 has the date of 9/4/2014 (just before the version was released on 9/24/2014).
After the 13.1 update is done (whenever date), that OldFilm.AEX file has the date of 1/31/2015. I first saw notification of the 13.1 Update
    release early in February 2015.
    2. Now in Premiere Elements 13.1, if I take my OldFilm.AEX (date 1/31/2015) and disable it by renaming it to OldFilm.AEXOLD, close out of there, and reopen
the program, the OldFilm.AEX is not seen to regenerate. The OldFilm.AEXOLD remains there as its lone self.
    3. So, I am thinking that your OldFilm.AEXOLD in the screenshoot is "original equipment" that you disabled to get rid of No disc error.
Why the OldFilm.AEX is there also is not clear, but the dating on it suggests that it came along with the 13.1 Update.
Bottom line: let us try the deletion or disabling one more time and see what happens.
Looking forward to further reports on your findings, as your time permits.
    Thanks.

I recently had some 8mm film transferred to DVD. I am trying to edit the film clips using Premier Elements 4.0. so I can reburn the films on a single BluRay disc. Some of the film clips copy into the project but others don't. I tried copying the VOB filed onto my hard drive and then changing the file extensions on the VOB files to MPEG but this was no help. Some of the VOB files contain numerous film clips but my software does not appear to be able to recognize them as such. I need to know if replacing my old Premier Elements with the new Version 13 would solve this problem or not. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    What do you have now.....
What computer operating system do you have?
We can go into the finer points of source and your intentions, but for now it would appear that you are using SD 4:3 source media to get to a HD 16:9 result. Lots to discuss in this regard.
What was given to you on the DVD disc? DVD-VIDEO 4:3 or something else?
If DVD-VIDEO on DVD disc, you should expect to find on the disc a folder named VIDEO_TS. That is your target for your video files.
If you were given a DVD-VIDEO on DVD disc, then all you want from it are the video files, specifically
VTS_01_1.VOB, VTS_01_2.VOB, and so on through that series until possibly getting to
VTS_02_1.VOB, and so on. How many files you have beyond the VTS_01_1.VOB file will depend on the size of the DVD-VIDEO.
Does the above scenario apply to you?
The alternative might be someone giving a DVD disc (data disc) which contains just the VTS files mentioned which were copied from
the VIDEO_TS Folder. So, you do not get the whole VIDEO_TS Folder, just the essential video files. Does this scenario apply to you.
I see no need to replace your Premiere Elements 4 with a later version unless you have a huge project and need a later version that will be a 64 bit application running specifically on Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit computer.
Consider...Premiere Elements 4 and if you have DVD-VIDEO on DVD....
    1. Place the DVD disc in the burner tray
    2. Open Premiere Elements 4 and set the project preset for NTSC DV Standard (assuming you are working in a NTSC setup)
    3. Go to
    Get Media
"DVD, Digital Camera, Mobile Phone, Hard Drive Camcorder, Card Reader"
"Adobe Premiere Elements - Media Downloader" and its Advanced dialog.
Set the Source in the latter dialog for the drive which has your DVD disc inserted in its tray
You should see your VTS_01_1.VOB thumbnail in the "Adobe Premiere Elements - Media Downloader" Advanced dialog.
With this VOB selected, click on Get Media to get the file from there into the project.
    Should work fine.
Complications may be involved if the people who processed your footage gave you something other what is described above.
Please review and consider, and then we can plan our project strategy accordingly.
    Thank you.

When you make a DNG that's like making another raw file, so you will need to convert the DNG file just like your original raw. Don't use the Save button in the raw converter. That's just a link to the DNG converter. Normally you would click Open instead and then save in the editor as a jpg or other image format of your choice.
