Actionlist is missing error with Reader 9.4 on Win2008
Hi All,
The 3rd party SW that I need to install requires Reader 8 or 9 as a pre-requisite. I need the UK option. I can download fine from adobe.com/reader/download/otherversions (they certainly hide the older versions well). However when I run the .exe on my server (on E: drive), I get the same Actionlist is missing error that others do. The only solution appears to be to go to adobe.com/reader/direct, but that only allows me to download Reader X, which I can't use.
I found a link to an ftp.adobe.com (looked legit) which had an .msi file. When I ran that, buttons labeled in Russian appeared on a legit looking install screen. I quickly shut it down, chosing the path of discretion.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Ed
There is an English version of Adobe Reader shipped by Adobe, which I guess is the one you are looking for.
You can get the same from: http://get.adobe.com/reader/otherversions/
Also, the FTP site that you tried, please try and access the en_US directory which has the English Reader that you want to install on your system.
Thanks
Ankit

Error 'Internal Error' with Reader X
Hi,
we got an "Internal Error" by opening PDF Documents wie Adobe Reader X. These Documents works fine with Adobe 9. We deteimined the error remaining on the jpg which is in the document. We created the jpg again an now we could open new documents with adobe reader x.
Our problem is that all old documents have the old version of the jpg. Becouse of technical restrictions we aren´t able to creat the documents with the new jpg. We have to open the old pdf document with adobe X.
Does anyone have an idea whats wrong with adobe x? Is it possible, that´s a knowen error and it would be fixed in the next version?
Thanks for any help
RegardsHello dbausnd2,
It may not be your answer but I encountered the "internal error" message you described on some documents
For me, disabling protected mode as described in following link solved it
http://forums.adobe.com/message/3463596
According to this, "protected mode" is a new feature in X, it could explain your 9.0, X behavior difference http://blogs.adobe.com/livecycle/2010/11/technical-details-of-adobe-reader-x-protected-mod e.html
Interestingly, right clicking a file, selecting "Open with Adobe Reader X" would trigger "internal error" for me on the affected documents. But right clicking, selecting "open with" and then "Adobe Reader" did not. Go figure. Also, opening from the reader's file menu worked.
I imagine disabling protected mode reduces your system security, so that is something to consider -
Error with Reader 8.2.4 update package
I get a Windows Installer error: This package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package.
I am using this the same way I installed previous update packages such as 8.2.3.This sounds like a corrupted download. Download it again from http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/8.x/8.2.4/misc/AdbeRdrUpd824_all_incr.msp

after updating to adobe reader 11.0.3 my registry was corrupted with a gapi32.dll missing error. It was not missing and was conflicting with outlook as this dll file is a common file. The only way I could fix the problem was to do a system restore back to when I had the 11.0.2 version and everything will work with that. You have a problem with version 11.0.3 installation. The same thing happened on 3 computers so I know it is this new version of adobe reader which is the problem.
It would be great, if you could provide us with the following details:
1. The OS you are working on.
2. The version of MS Office installed on your machine.
3. A screenshot of the error message along with the scenario in which the same is displayed.
4. How exactly did you go about updating Reader 11.0.02 to 11.0.03. Was it via the updater mechanism or by downloading the patch from the Adobe site.
Also, it would be great if you could let us know if there was any other Windows or Antivirus related updates applied on your machine in the same timeframe as the Reader update. -

Error in reading table TFK056A with interest key
While posting interest I am getting the following error "Error in reading table TFK056A with interest key". I have configured my interest keys well. Please assist.
Hi Panashesean,
The reason for this error could be you have in the line items an interest key (ikey) which is missing in table TFK056A. Though you have a different interest key in the master record the system will consider the line item first.
Interest Key Documentation states:
"If more than one interest key is defined for a line item, these interest keys are normally prioritized as follows:
1. Interest key in line item
2. Interest key that is defined for transactions identified as additional receivables
An interest can depend on the operative company code in the rule for
additional receivables.
3. Interest key in dunning level
4. Interest key in contract account master record"
You need to remove the interest key in the line item for the system to use the master record ikey OR or define (ikey) in table TFK056A.
I hope this works.
regards,
David -

Have a problem with Lightroom 5.4. Since the program crashed yesterday it won't launch, it comes up with the message "Lightroom encountered an error when reading its preview cache and needs to quit". " Lightroom will attempt to fix this problem next time it launches". Except that it doesn't, I keep getting the same message and the program closes. Does anyone know what I can do to repair it? Can't back up, can't do anything.
There are dozens of threads in this forum that describe the fix

Why is it that when I am trying to install an adobe product, I get 33% of the way through and then it gives me an error "unable to load metafile"?? It happened with Reader and now with Flash player. With the Reader, I was able to find a different installation link using the troubleshooting guide. I cannot find the same with flash player. Please tell me how to install Flash player because there is a website that I cannot even view without it. BTW That is annoying that I cannot even see the website without flash player
my system is XPUse these installers:
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
Flash Player for Mac OS X

With Reader XI There was an error opening this document. Access denied
Hi there, It looks like I have a simular problem. I also get the error "There was an error opening this document. Access denied." This when I tried to open the file by clicling on the file. When I try to open the file from out Adobe reader it gives me the error "You don't have permission to open the file" I use Adobe XI. My OS is W8.1 By clearing protected mode doesn't help. This is what I found sofar: Only the PDF files in the documents and subfolders are giving me this error. PDF files in other folders are fine. When I copy PDF files from the documents folder to Desktop they open without any problem. First I thought I might be a permission problem with the Documents folder, but I have full access. Other files in the Documents folder like Word and Excel files open fine with MS Office. My laptop has WinXP and is shared with my PC when I open PDF files on my laptop by using the network share they open without problems. So it looks like only the PDF files in my Documents folder. I'm not sure but before upgrading to W8.1 from W8.0 I can't remember if I had this problem, but I think I did not have it. To make it even more interested is that I have also Adobe Acrobat Writer on my PC what I use for my buisiness. When I open the PDF files with this program they open without any problem. Therefore I believe it is not a permission problem, I still believe it is a problem with Reader XI, but than only after upgrading to W8.1, but as I already mentioned I'm not sure for 100% only that sofar I know it never happened under W8. Has anyone out there simular problems? And hopefully with a fix.
This is what I did sofar: Deleted reader XI and reinstalled same problem.
Because I think the problem is with reader XI I deleted again XI and installed reader X.
With this version I can open PDF files located in the documents folder without any problem.
For now I keep using version X until they fixed version XI
This proves that reader XI will not work under W8.1 when opening PDF files in de documents folder.

It's the .lrdata folder in with your catalog, named something like "My Catalog Previews.lrdata".
Delete entire .lrdata folder, making sure you get the one in the same folder as the catalog you're opening. Do not delete anything else, and if you have something like "My Catalog Smart Previews.lrdata" - that's not it.
http://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/preference-file-locations-lightroom-41.html
When Lr comes up, consider initiating whole-catalog building of standard previews (Library -> Previews menu), lest you be "forever" greeted by temporarily gray thumbnails and "loupe loading" indicator in the future.. -
Hi All
My computer crashed with lightroom open, since restart I get a msg 'LR encounted an error when reading from its preview cache and needs to quit'
I'd appreciate any suggestions
Many thanksMany thanks for your help, at lease the LR is working now. How do I rebuild previews and smart previews or will this happen automatically?
Many thanks
