Actions Panel not displaying

I am posting this here simply because I couldn't find
reference to this elsewhere and perhaps it will help someone
someday.
In Flash CS3 I had a problem with the Actions panel not
displaying. I tried F9, choosing Actions from the Window Menu,
right clicking on a frame and selecting Actions from the context
menu, restarting Flash, rebooting the computer, etc. It just
wouldn't display.
I finally took a good look on my flash desktop. At the very
top, right below the menu bar, was this little horizontal bar,
about 2 to 4 pixels in height. It was a dark grey, virtually
blending in with the window background. It had no graphics or text
on it, just a horizontal bar. It was probably the bottom few pixels
of the window frame. This was my actions panel all curled up, no
header bar, no nothing. I clicked on it, an voila, my actions panel
appeared.
My main questions are these: How did this happen and why was
it just a a blank vertical bar? Why not the regular title bar you
see when you minimize a panel?

I received this information from Adobe for my mac when the
top actions panel ribbon was showing but the window would not open:
As an initial troubleshooting step, please try to reset the
Flash CS3 configuration to
further isolate the issue:
To reset or re-create the Flash configuration:
- Close all applications
- Go to your Hard Drive
- Then Users
- Choose your user login (with house icon)
- Go to Library
- Then Application Support
- Choose Adobe
- Open Flash CS3 or Flash 9 folder
- Open "EN" folder
- Rename Configuration folder to Configuration_OLD
- Launch Flash again and try accessing the Actions Panel.
It worked for me.

As an FYI: Adobe discontinued developing the Spry framework last year. And Spry was removed from DW CC. You can keep using Spry if you wish, but most of us have switched to other solutions that work better in IE10 and Touch Screens.

RH7- Insert action does not display window to select the file.

I have a nightmare situation with RH7 with no clue to resolve. What are my options to fix this
I am having trouble with robohelp, selecting insert action does not display the pop up window. This prevents functions such as inserting images & files, importing files and creating hyperlinks to documents created in word, frame maker.
when I perform this action, the pop up window appears virtually but is not visible to make the selection and RH freezes.
I have to end the process or press esc to find some work around - so far none available
Please help.

Welcome to the community.
Have you recently gone from a dual monitor setup to a single monitor? When this happens, RH can sometimes keep tossing dialog boxes over where it thinks the second monitor is. I typically use a program called ForceWindowVisible (get it here) to push wandering dialogs back into view. Give that a try and see if it works. Hope this helps,

Character panel not displaying all options

Hi!
I need some help, when I open the character panel it only displays about half of the type changing options, such as kerning, leading, tracking & font size.
it does not display the stretching or the other four options to manipulate text. can anyone help me??
When I used to have CS3 it did, and now with CS5 I'm not sure why it's not automatically displaying everything in the character panel.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Swing Panels-not displaying correctly

I have created a GUI using Panels. Panels are created at runtime and added to the GUI dynamically.
But content of these panels are not displayed properly. For beg. some items appear only when I move the mouse over them. When I resize the GUI, content of the Panels are disappeared.

In the future, Swing related questions should be posted in the Swing forum.
Panels are created at runtime and added to the GUI dynamically.You need to use the revalidate() method on the Container that you add the panels to. This will cause the LayoutManager to be invoked and all the panels will be repainted in there new location.

Preflight panel not displaying / broken

The Preflight panel will not display. Invoking it from the main menu (Window > Output > Preflight), or the bottom of the document window or via the keyboard shortcut - none of them work - the preflight panel appears for the briefest moment and then disappears. No other part of the interface appears to be broken or behave the same way.
System
Mac OS 10.6.8, InDesign CC version 9 and Indesign CC version 9.1
Previous versions:
Exact same behaviour in CS6 (8.0.1)
Works fine in CS5.5 (v7.5.3)
Steps taken to troubleshoot:
Replicated the problem in a Mac OS X guest account.
Replicated the problem after resetting the preferences (as described in Troubleshooting 101 post: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/526990?start=160&tstart=0 )
Tried disabling preflight (via bottom-of-document preflight menu). Tried creating new profiles.
Deleted / reinstalled the preflight profiles?
Not sure how I might do this, but it has occured to me this might be worth pursuing.
Using non-standard preflight profiles ?
No, using the supplied preflight profile.

Data base panel not displaying recordset info

I am using dreamweaver cs4 running on i mac
Problem
the descriptions in my database panel are not displaying on the bindings tab the recordsets just abreviate to "reco" and when I expand a record set all I see is the llighting bolt
I want to be able to view full record set name and table names how do I do this ?

The first thing to do is to click the 'refresh' button on the r/h side of the databases panel.
If this does not work, look in the folder on your testing server where your php files are stored for a folder named - _mmServerScripts and delete it.
The file path would be something like - yourdrive - htdocs - sitefoldername - _mmServerScripts.
Close DW and then restart DW, and a new folder by that name will be created, along with the files that dreamweaver requires to communicate with the server, (warning - never alter the files in this folder). Should this not work then it may be a problem with your DW installation, php configuration or MySQL permissions.

TK Actions panels not installed un PS CC 2014

I use the TK Actions Panel in PS CC by loading them through the menu Extension.
Now in PS CC 2014, the Extension menu is still Grey and i can not installed the TK Actions Panel.
Does anyone know how to proceed?

I am not sure if TK Actions Panel is Flash based extension. Flash based extensions are not supported by PS CC 2014 anymore. You have to continue to use it in PS CC until its HTML based counterparts become available.

TK Actions Panel Not Showing

I purchased the TK Actions/Video set from GoodLight.us. It comes with a set of Actions : "TKActions" which have been installed as directed into the CS5 Actions folder. They appear when Actions is opened and appear to function correctly. However, the Panel from the same set will not show in "Extentions"on the CS 5 page and it is supposed to as listed in the directions. It was copied/pasted in Plug-ins/Panel in Cs 5's program files.
I have updated the flash player since there was mention of Flash in some applications when I searched for help.
Any ideas?

     This update was mandated by Adobe's forthcoming changes to Photoshop CC. The next revision to PS CC (Photoshop 15), due out in a few weeks, will remove support for Flash-based panels. The current TK-ACTIONS and TK_ACTIONS panel use Flash to do their thing and will no longer work in the soon-to-be-released PS CC update. HTML5 is the new standard for extension panels and is already incorporated into the current version of PS CC. (Flash will continue to be the standard for Photoshop CS5 and CS6.) Since I use PS CC and rely on the panel in my own developing workflow, I re-coded the panel using the new HTML5 standard. This also gave me the opportunity to add some new features to the panel.

Actions panel not opening with Option+F9 in Mac

Hi,
Does anyone have this problem? This has always happened. I use CS4
When I press Option+F9 it doesn't do anything, it only forwards a song if I have iTunes on.
The only solution I use is going to Window and choosing 'Actions' but it's much tedious than using the keyboard.
If anyone can give me a solution I'll be much obliged.

Navigation panel not displaying correctly

Hi!
I've had this acrobat 9 pro problem for a few months but it's finally gotten to me - information displayed in the navigation panel (IE - layers, bookmarks, examine document etc) do not display properly. I can't really describe it, so here are some screen grabs. I've tried resetting the navigational pane but to no avail.
Is this an issue that has come up before? How can i resolve it?

I have seen such an issue on Mac Mavericks but again that's not a supported environment for Acrobat 9

Why is the actions panel not appearing?

I am unable to view the Actions Panel window in a document I've already done a lot of work in. It worked previously - I created an Actions Layer and was able to add action script, however, when I try to open it back up to edit the action script I wrote, neither the F9 shortcut nor the Windows>Actions pulls up the Actions Panel. In fact, when I try either method, nothing happens.

try changing the workspace to default (or anything different from your current).

Does turning off »Use Graphics Processor« in the Performance Preferences and restarting Photoshop have any bearing on the issue?
Are Photoshop and OS fully updated?
As with all unexplainable Photoshop-problems you might try trashing the prefs (after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved and making a note of the Preferences you’ve changed) by keeping command-alt-shift pressed on starting the program or starting from a new user-account.
System Maintenance (repairing permissions, purging PRAM, running cron-scripts, cleaning caches, etc.) might also be beneficial, Onyx has been recommended for such tasks.

Weeding out bad fonts never seems to be a bad idea, either. (Validate your fonts in Font Book and remove the bad ones.)

If 3rd party plug-ins are installed try disabling them to verify if one of those may be responsible for the problem.

I have unchecked "Use Default Configuration" in "People Refinement Panel" web-part.
I can only see "Job Title" in refinement panel.
In above xml code, the metadata property "DepartmentR" is mapped to "People:Department(Text)". I even full crawled after creating this property but this property never appears in Refinement Panel. I even performed full profile synchronization
in User Profile Application but still no luck.
Please help.

Make sure the managed property has the following set
1. Allow Property to be used in scopes: Ticked
2. Reduce storage requirements for text properties by using a hash for comparison: Ticked
3. Add managed property to custom results set retrieved on each query. Note: Only the first 2 kilobytes of data is available for display by default: Ticked

Actionable link not display in email

Hi all,
I tried to achieve actionable link for (approve,reject) in the email but the email displays only the link for worklist application, it doesnt contain link for approve or reject.

i think what you have is standard - It's not the same as the Gmail app - Have you tried the official M/S email app for Hotmail
