ActionTec GT701D DSL Modem; DSL username and password

I am about to try to install the above modem and an Apple AirPort Extreme Wifi router. The modem says I will need my DSL username and password, but when I telephoned Verizon support the rep said I could make up any number and password.
I don't think he is correct. Where do I go to find my DSL username and password? It has been so long since I installed the current modem and wifi router that I have forgotten what the related username and password may be.
Can I get a little help from the community?

The DSL modem username and password can be the following below, but to be sure, are you looking for the PPPoE username and password? That's something different and is what actually connects up your DSL connection so that you can get connected to the Internet.

As for the PPPoE login, this is the Username and password which was created, or is otherwise known as the master password to your Verizon account. This is typically the master account that you use to log into MyVerizon. Otherwise, the Verizon agent is likely correct. In my area you CAN punch in any username and password, or for that matter leave that info blank and you'll get a connection.

Hi, currently i am doing an application which use external modem to communicate with another modem. I am facing a problem that how to communicate with the modem which require username and password. The step i had tested was created a dial-up connection in first modem. The dial-up connection require me to insert the username, password and phone number. The broadcast power of all wireless routers and devices is limited by law.....and all manufacturers run their routers full blast.....so the relative signal strength of wireless routers from one manufacturer to another will tend to be remarkably similar.....despite the fancy advertising claims.
You may want to consider adding another AirPort Extreme to "extend" the signal strength in your home. If you decide to do this, the "extending" Extreme would normally need to be located at a point that is approximately half the distance from your "main" AirPort Extreme and the general area that needs more wireless coverage.

E1200 modem: Username and Password don't work! help!

We cannot allow other devices (computers etc) on our network. the only one allowed is the one thats set up the network originally. I've contacted our internet provider, spyware and everyone else and they say its within the router. And the username and password on the laptop do not allow us in. Other devices say "authentication problem" or they are just not capable of getting onto the Wifi/Network. So, within our wireless network settings/properties we've gotten the name and pass key for going into our modem via the web...but it does not work. Need help with the username and password, the one we were given does not work......help? also, we do not have phone service where we live so calling and being on the computer is not possible....any email or forum step by step is the only capability. Thank you!

Try to check if you have the Cisco Connect Software installed on one of the computers. Router's default log in is admin for the password and just leave the username blank. If you won't be able to access it still, you may reset and configure the router again.

Need username and password

I am replacing my standard issue dsl modem with a non verizon modem/wireless router combo unit. It says in the install instructions that I need to have my dsl username and password. I would rather not have to call verizon customer service (never had a issue, but jsut a pain to call with those voice activated menus), so I am wondering is this the same username/password I use to access my email, etc. at verizon's website? Or some information used by my current modem that is totally different?

The Username and Password would be the User/Pass to access to your Verizon e-mail, yes. If it isn't that, it would be the User/Pass to the Master account if you use a Subaccount for e-mail. Hope I'm clear enough with that.
It might be worth pointing out that if your Westell modem was using DHCP and not PPPoE to connect to Verizon, you do not need a Login. Instead, all you need to do is leave the modem powered off for a few hours to allow the DHCP lease to break from the old modem, or you need to clone the MAC address of the old modem to the new modem. Otherwise, if you are in a PPPoE area that uses OpenPPPoE such as my area, you can use any Username/Password combination you'd like and it will connect.

IMac not remembering username and password

Hi,
I recently bought a Qwest wireless DSL modem and set it up with my iMac.
I chose my username and password for my network. I also set my security to have the network invisible.
It worked great for weeks, but the last several days when I would shutdown and then boot my iMac Leopard can't find my network and I have to manually enter my username and password in again.
I check the box so that it will remember, but no luck.
I reset the router but that doesn't help either.
Any suggestions?

have you changed user accounts? that could cause issues with your keychains. you should be able to see if your login credentials are saved under Applications > Utilities > Keychain Access.
if not, try creating a new location under system prefs > network.
reconfigure your airport connection under the new location.

Why does my username and password doesn't work on ff and it works on other browsers?

Hello.
I'm having a problem with login on my adsl modem page by using it's username and password.
I've been having the same problem since ff5 or ff6 and now the problem remains on ff9.0.1
When I type on address bar 192.168.2.1, to get on my modem's page and I try to login to change things or portforward etc, I get incorrect password message.
When I do the same on another browser like ie9 I don't have such issues.
I've try autofill form for my username and password and manual writing everything to ensure that I'm not doing anything wrong.
Even checked the saved password on ff and deleted it.
I've also tried to delete cookies and temporary files and clean registry.
No luck what so ever.

I'm using a NetFaster IAD 2 modem from intracom.
I don't know if that helps any

Reporting Services username and password prompting

We have several branch office locations and one reporting services server. All of the branch office locations can access the reporting services server, but we have one location for the passed week, each time they make a connection to this server, it prompts
them for a username and password and will not allow them to connect even if the correct username and password is correct.
I have tried adding the server to the IE intranet/trusted site list. Set IE security on all zones to automatically logon with current username and password.
What is strange is that this is the only branch office site that is having this issue. It is almost like kerberos is broken for this site location only.
DOes anyone has any suggestions what could be causing this problem for all computers in this one location. Nothing has changed on their local servers nor have we pushed any updates to the machines.

As per my understanding, I think this issue is caused by Kerberos authentication. Kerberos is an authentication protocol that allows clients that create authentication tokens to associate a specific destination to that token. In the failure case, there is
a mismatch between the destination specified in the token and the report server process configuration. Due to this mismatch, the underlying Kerberos authentication scheme supported by Windows prevents report server from authenticating the user.
To fix this issue, please try to remove RSWindowsNegotiate and ensure RSWindowsNTLM is specified in the rsreportserver.config file. For more details, please take the following article as reference:

Single sign-on and different usernames and passwords

I am building a Portal with WLPS 3.5 and WLS 6.0. I tried to get
information about the background of single sign-on.
I understand, that I need a Realm (i.e. LDAP Realm) to authenticate the
user for the first login to the portal (with username and password).
Now I would like to integrate my webmail-programm (to get emails from
Lotus Notes via Internet) as a portlet.
For my understanding the user has to authorizate to get access to webmail.
Therefore I create a ACL for webmail and this ACL is assigned to my
security Realm.
I would like the portlet to show after login the number of mails for the
specific user. But where are the username and password for webmail stored
and how are they received and forwarded?
I understand that my ACL included all users that have access to webmail
(i.e. all users). But I only want emails for the specific user.
Does WLS get all usernames and passwords while the first login? Do I have to
implement a algorithmen to get the specific username and password for the
requested resource in my portlet?
Has anyone solved a similar problem or can tell me where I can get more
information. I read the WebLogic Security document but I cant find a
answer to my questions.

I'm not an expert in this area, but I can give you a start.
As for single sign-on, there are different levels. For single sign-on across web-apps,
the servlet spec requires this (section 12.6 of th 2.3 spec) and therefore Weblogic
does this.
What you are talking about is single sign-on across back-end applications through
a web-app. BEA has partnered with Securant (just acquired by RSA) to provide this
kind of functionality. Browse to http://www.rsasecurity.com/products/ and look
at the ClearTrust product. BEA has also partnered with Netegrity (www.netegrity.com)
with their SiteMinder product. Neither is included in the Weblogic license. I'm
sure either vendor would be excited to explain how their product will solve your
problem if you give them a call.
As for where the username and passwords are stored, that is up to the realm. If
you are using the default WLPS RDBMSRealm, the username and encrypted password
are stored in the WLCS_USER table. If you are using LDAPRealm, they are stored
in your LDAP server.

You say its a multiserver farm, do you have more than one web server then?
If thats the case, have you tried accessing the site on each server directly?

I could do that, however when I select the icloud button (or whatever the heck it is) I am asked to enter the apple id and password. So if you are suppose to create another one for icloud you'd think it would give you the option at this point which would be logical.
