  • HP Laserjet Pro M1217nfw, support for ePrint Home&Biz on Android devices

Got my new LaserJet Pro M1217nfw installed on my home (secure)wireless network and am printing wirelessly from 3 windows laptops.
Started trying to get my smartphones to connect and print to it. Droid X Verizon, running gingerbread latest Verizon update. Download ePrint and ePrint Home & Biz to it. Upgraded my printer to latest firmware and SmartInstall, got an EPrint email address assigned to it. Am able to ePrint from phone just fine, but Home & Biz does not print, it detects printer and says has printed the file, doc, or pic but nothing comes out on the printer. I see from your lists of supportted printers that it is not
supported on th 1217nfw. Is it planned to work on it in the future? Can you give my some hints or workarounds if it is possible to get Home and Biz to work?
I tried the Wireless Direct feature on the printer, but really don't understand its purpose, since the printer and my phone are both
connected to my local wireless network, why does the wireless direct use a different SSID and assigned a fixed IP address?
    anyway disabled that feature.
    Thanks for any help!

At this time ePrint Home&biz app is not supported on the HP Laserjet Pro M1217nfw. Other than ePrint using the printer emial address there isn't another solution with an Android device.

  • Why doesn't my eprint work on my android anymore?

Why doesn't my e-print work on my android anymore?

Panoramic was only something apple had in the Betas and has not been seen on any device, even the 5S, since they released the full versions of iOS 7.

  • EPrint from Android is printing to the wrong printer

This is very odd.  I have a brand new OfficeJet 8500A that I just set up.  I got ePrint configured and created an ePrint account, installed the ePrint app on my Android phone, and tried to test it.  On the phone I put in my printer's ePrint email address, and it correctly identified it as an HP 8500A.
So then I went to try printing a test document, and it said it was going to print it to my 8500A - but it actually printed on my Photosmart 8450!  The Photosmart is on the same home network ast he 8500A, but it doesn't do ePrint as far as I know.  I think it predates the creation of ePrint.  And in any case, I certainly never did any kind of configuration to tell ePrint to use it.
Can anyone explain why it's printing to the wrong printer?

    Hello,
The ePrint Center and ePrint functionality (the ability to send an email to your printer) is different than the ePrint Home and Biz app. The ePrint Home and Biz app can be used with printers that are on your local network. It is possible that you simply selected the 8450 in the dropdown menu on your android device. Please verify you have selected the correct printer and if so, we can do some further troubleshooting.
    Thanks!

Dlink routers provide Multicasting support disabled by my erxperience.
Try the following steps and then check for any change:
Enter the router EWS page by typing its IP address.
From the top menu click Advanced.
From the left menu click Advanced Network.
Make sure the Multicast Streams checkbox is selected.
Click Save Settings to apply and reboot the router.
Make sure the devices have reconnected and check for any change,
If there still having issues, I would recommend you to update the latest firmware for your router:

  • Is it possible?? - Will HP ePrint talk to a local networked HP printer that is NOT ePrint enabled?

    Hello,
I'm looking for help with configuring HP ePrint Home and Bus (Android)
    System:
    Netgear WNDR3400 router
    Google Nexus 10 Tablet
Custom built PC- Windows XP Pro
HP Photosmart C5250 (connected to an IOGear USB Printserver)
Both my main desktop PC and my laptop can print to the HP Photosmart C5200 thru the USB print server, it is working fine.
    QUESTION:
How do I configure HP ePrint home and Bus on my Google tablet to print to my networked HP printer?
I cannot get the HP ePrint app to SEE my networked printer!
    Thanks,
    Unit_10
Please disregard any instructions for setting up WAN ePrinting.  Entirely unnecessary,

The printer must be on the network directly for the app to see it. Using a USB print server is likely where your issue is occuring. If you had a printer that supported wireless or ethernet, it would be seen via the app.

  • Info problema Android

Hello I'm having problems with my android phone, I installed the app eprint
I followed the setup process via email and numeric code returned by post but it does not detect my HP Officejet 4500 Wireless
the same printer and instead recognized with the same application on the iPad without any problems detect and trouble-free printing

    Hello raz73,
Thank you for being an active member of the HP Support forums.  I understand that the HP ePrint app is not recognizing your Officejet 4500 wireless printer.
The HP ePrint app on your Android mobile device will only find the printer when the Android mobile device is connected to the same wireless network that the printer is connected to.  I've included the document "Printing from Your Android Device with Non-Web-Enabled Printers (No HP ePrint Support)" which will walk you how to print using the app from you Android mobile device.

  • HP LaserJet Pro P1102w - I wish make e.print work

Hi there,   I just bought my p1102w and cannot access the embedded webpape the ip of my printer gives me. (I'm running a Win7 ultimate and my wireless router is a TP-Link wr541g/wr542g.)
I've printed the Dev. Configuration page and it gives me 3 different IPs:
    Network information:
IP 4 address & IP Default Gateaway (the same) (169.254.xx.xx)
    IP Subnet Mask (255.255.x.x)
    Direct Print Conf.
    IP 4 address (192.168.xxx.x)
None of them takes me to the embedded webpage.
How can I solve that problem so to configure the eprint settings for my android phone?
    Thanks for any help

First, make sure that your printing and computer are on the same network. From the IP addresses that you posted, it looks like the printer is "talking" to itself (169.254.xx.xx address). You should have an IPv4 address that startes with a 192.254.xx.xx. Once you have this, you should be able to reach the embedded webpage.
Example of my network summary report (different from the configuration report):
        IPv4 address: 192.169.xx.xx
        Subnet:           255.255.255.0
        Wireless Direct address: 192.168.xxx.x
The above information was found on the Network summary report, which is different from the configuration report. This report is found under the reports menu, usually one or two down from the configuration report. The IPv4 and submet address are under the TCP/IP(v4) column on the upper left side. The wireless direct setup is found in the 3rd heading down on the right side.
The wireless direct address is used if you want to set up a point to point connection. You would only use this to print or scan directly from your device to the printer.
Check out this website for more information on wireless direct printing

  • HP Officejet 8500 909 AG

Is my Officejet 8500 909A capable of ePrint? If so, how do I get the email address of the printe? I have an Android tablet running Outlook and there is no print capability for emails. I was advised to forward it to ePrint.

    Hi SM1251,
Welcome to the HP Support forums.  I understand that you would like to print from your Android tablet to your Officejet 8500 A909g.
Your printer does not have the ePrint feature but you still can print from your Android device to the printer. I have included a document on how to do that.  I have also included a document with the FAQs for the HP ePrint mobile app. For additional reference I have also included a document about printing using Android 4.4 KitKat if that is the Android version your tablet is running.

  • Printing envelope and cont. to print from phototray set made main tray in properties?????

envelope wizard keeps printing from phototray. have changed setting to main tray in properties and cont. phototray???

Unfortunately any image file sent to ePrint will automatically be printed out on photo paper with printers that have a seperate photo tray.
Depending on how you are ePrinting, you do have a few options though. If you are printing from a Apple or Android device, their is an app that will allow you to choose the paper size and type when printing.
For Apple products, you want the HP ePrint app.
For Android based devices, you want the HP ePrint Home & Biz app.
If you are printing from a computer, you can download the ePrint Mobile Driver and that will also give you those options.
Reply back with how you are printing and let me know if you need any help getting this set up.

  • Server tools

  • Print from samsung galaxy note 10.1 to HP Envy 5532 printer

I have brand new printer HP ENVY 5532 but am unable to print from my samsung tablet without sending an email. The things l need to print are not always email . What do l need to do please keep any replies basic as my IT knowledge limited

    Hi alibow,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums. I see that you would like to learn how to print from your Samsung Android tablet to your Envy 5532 printer.
It sounds like you have already setup the ePrint feature of the printer as you mentioned that you are able to email a print job. To print other items, such as photos and web pages, please download and install the HP ePrint app onto your Android mobile device. Please note that your tablet needs to be running Android 4.0 or later to use the app. I have included the HP ePrint Mobile App FAQ for reference. The document still shows that Android 2.2 or later which is no longer valid.

  • HP ePrint red or green status on Android

I have an HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus e-All-in-One Printer - A910g and have been printing quite happily to it from my Android phone using the HP ePrint app. Recently it has stopped working and I have a red dot as the status on the left instead of the usual green one. I have checked that I am running the latest version of the app and that the firmware on the printer is also at the latest version. I have the same problem from my other two Android devices (another phone and a tablet). I have tried rebooting the printer and resetting and removing and installing the app, but there is no change. I can print to the printer from my desktop and laptop without problems though.
What does the red dot indicate? I haven't managed to find any information or help on the app so that I can diagnose the problem.

    @aptanet
If you are using the updated app then you are observing correct behavior.
To answer your question regarding the red and green lights. Red = busy and green = ready.
If your printer has a printer being sent to it or is being prepared for a print job from either the PC or  a mobile device. The mobile device will observe the printer as "busy" thus the red light.
If the printer you are sendin your print job to is in the ready state  and able to send a print job to it, then a green light will be beside the printer icon.
If it is bouncing back and forth, please make sure that other devices are not sending print jobs to the printer a the same time the app is trying to send a job to the printer.

  • Issue on borderless printing using android HP ePrint app with HP LaserJet Pro 200 color M251nw

    Hi,
I am trying to print a pdf document which is of A4 size (11.7 x 8.3 inches without any borders) from android tablet using HP ePrint app along with the printer HP Laserjet Pro 200 color M251nw. When it is printed on A4 sheet, it adds the border on all the sides around 12mm-left, 11mm-right, 8mm-top, 9.5mm-botton margins.
On the printer the firmware datecode shows 20121026, Also the ePrint app which I am using is latest and upto date.
Please let me know how to print the borderless print in A4 sheet.

    Hello revlib,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
Turning off the Wireless Direct on the LaserJet Pro 200 color M251nw should have disabled the SSID from broadcasting. Since disabling from the front display did not resolve, let us try from the Embedded Web Server (EWS).
To access the EWS you need to enter the I.P address for the M251nw into the address bar of your web browser. The I.P address can be collected by touching Setup ()> Reports> Network Summary.
Once in the EWS, click Network> Wireless Direct Setup> select Off and Apply.
Let me know if this has help

  • Printing from Motorola Xoon tablet to Officejet Pro 8600 Plus via Android ePrint app

    Hello!
My Officejet Pro 8600 Plus printer
    - is connected to my Laptop (Win7 64bit) via USB cable
    - is connected to my router via WLAN
    - is configured to use ePrint with a registered mail address
    My Motorola Xoom tablet3
    - has Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4 installed as operating system
    - has the HP ePrint Home&Biz app installed
    ePrint
    - ePrint app is configured
    - the app identified/shows my printer as it should
    - I successfully registered to ePrint on the HP website
    - I am using a registered mail address for connection between app and ePrint online
As soon as I select a document on my tablet and try to print it,
    - the app shows up a "rendering document" message for a short time
    - a preview of the document should show up, but it doesn't!!
    - I can see the selected document as "pending" print job
    - no documents will be printed
    - pending documents can't be deleted and remain in the tablet's display
So, I desparately need help! Why does my printer not receive or print the documents from the Xoom tablet?
Thanks a lot for your help!

I understand that It was not a problem with the connection. When dealing with wireless networks, it is always a good idea to set a static IP.  It makes things more stable.  The reason I told you to enter Google's DNS was not to connect you to Google.  All a DNS does is create a pathway to the internet.  Once any device finds the internet via the DNS it then goes where it is supposed to.  It just uses the DNS as a referance for the internet.  Web services should work fine with your router DNS, I have just had more success using Google's public DNS.
You never mentioned wether you did all the power cycling that I asked you too.  I know it does not make sense, but power cycling everything on the network so it can all reconnect fresh, solves most issues like this one.  However, if you have power cycled everything and you are still having issues, then try removing the Xoom and the printer from the network, and reconnecting them.  Sometime, you have to completely remove the printer and mobile device from the networks and reattach them before they will comunicate.
If none of that works,  you may need to call the cloud services department to have them take a look at the issue.  You can find the number by logging into your ePrintCenter.com acount and looking under the help section.  When you get an agent on the phone make sure to tell them everything you have done, so they do not have you do the same steps.  Honestly at this point if it is not working the next step is a semi-full reset, which will cause you to loose your ePrint email address, as well as reset everything back to factory settings on the printer.  I am not allowed to share how to semi-full the printer via the forums, however the phone agents can walk you through one.
