Activate derivation

Dear all,
Here in customer service module. we are preparing BDC for Service order, what we need to do in distribution rule. we have to go in Profitatblility segment and then after entering material group and Service contract number we have to activate Derivation button. so that we can do Profitability analysis.
here in BDC recording " Activate derivation" button is not apearing. but when we do it manual ( without recording ) we can see the button.
or if some one can tell me direct T code to perform Derivation for sales order .. then it will be simplyfied.
Regards,
Amit kushwaha

Hi,
Characteristic values derivation is done in KEDR tcode. When sales order is created, we need not do any specific derivation but the system will derive all the characteristic both std and custom ones by taking into consideration of KEDR values.

    Hello,
I have created an event PC_Create in the BO BUS0015, for creation of Profit Centers. How do I link this event to the transaction code KE51(Profit Center create?)
I have tried to link through change docs by maintaining records in SWEC and SWED.
Are there any other settings needed for the event to get triggered. Have checked SWEL , no event triggering is taking place.
Alternatively if anyone has used user-exits for KE51/KE52, i can include Swe_event_create

  • Unable to derive funds center in F-90 Asset purchase from vendor

    Dear All,
I have maintained the fund center value in the asset master and also maintained the derviation rule in FMDERIVER for a combination of Cost Center > Funds Center.
When i try to post asset purchase using F-90 t-code, it is asking me for funds center in the asset line item. The system is not deriving the value from asset master or derivation rule maintained. I am unable to maintain the funds center in the posting as the field is grayed out.
Request you to kindly provide your valuable suggestion.

  • Incorrect Commitment item derived for GR/IR for service orders

    Hi Guys
We are currently on support pack 14, release 200 of EA-PS. I'm experiencing problems in with FM account assignment derivation. Especially with regards to service entry sheets.
The system is deriving account assignments well from goods reciepts to invoice reciept stage. The problem kicks in when clearing GR/IR - clearing using transaction code MR11. The system derives the expenditure commitment item using the GR/IR account in FI. I created assignments for my commitment items to be derived from G/L accounts as there is a one to one relationship between my G/L account and commitment item.
This condition results in a debit and credit entry being posted to the same commitment item in one transaction. I would expect only one item to be posted to the expense commitment item as it is the only one in the two line document whose financial transaction field set to 30. The GR/IR commitment's financial field is set to 40.
    Regards
    Thuso Mudau.

    Hi,
First thing I's do is to activate the FMDERIVE trace and see what is this commitment item derived from.
See what GL accounts are posted in the financial doc, and have a look at the log to see if the commitment item is derived directly from those acocunts.
    Let me know the results...

  • Deriving the profit center / segment during Bank Reconciliation

    Hi SDN,
One of our requirements is to generate a Financial Statement by Segments.
For this reason, we also need to derive / tag our Bank Reconciliation documents (Manual and Electronic) to the corresponding profit centers or segments. The problem though is that during FF67 or FF_5, there's no way we can enter these data.
At the same time, we can't set a default profit center via FAGL3KEH since these bank accounts may be used for multiple profit centers and not defaulted to one only.
My question now is, can we use the document splitting functionality so that we can "inherit" the profit center / segment from the payment document during bank recon?
To give you an idea here's a sample flow of what we wanted.
Customer Invoice (GL view)      - OK in the system
Dr  Accounts Receivable  (profit center 1) *inherited
Cr  Revenue Account (profit center 1)
Incoming Payment (GL view)     - OK in the system
Dr Incoming Clearing (profit center 1)
Cr Accounts Receivable (profit center 1)
    Bank Reconciliation
Dr Main Bank             (profit center 1)
Cr Incoming Clearing (profit center 1)
Currently, system does not inherit the bank reconciliation document to the right profit center. Is there any way we can do this in the system?
    Thanks

    Dear,
During bank Reco system inherit the Profit Center from the document which it is clearing. There is no need to maintain Default the same in FAGL3KEH.
Please activate splitting at Profit Center level.
    Hope this helps!!

  • Derivation of Functional Area in FI document

    Hi
We have an issue with the Functional Area derivation while posting the FI document. One FI document got posted with 4 line items, with 3 GL accounts. Two line items are from one GL(Which has cost center) and remaining two belongs to other GL accounts. Here the issue is, one of the line item(same GL) has Functional area and other line item doen't have functional area.
Is there any configuration/check needs to be done in deriving the function area. Where I can find that in the system(Our system is 4.7). When I checked the posting progam, I found a note saying Functional Area will be visible/invisible depending on the cost-of-sale flat active/inactive. Cost-of-sale flag is active for the company code.
would you please let me know, how this was happend.?. How to over come this.
    Thanks in advance.
    Thanks
    Lakshman

    Hi Lakshman,
    1. For activation/deactivation of Cost of Sales Accounting, the path is IMG - Financial Accounting - Finacial Accounting Global Settings - Company Code - Cost of Sales Accounting - Activate COst of Sales Accounting for Preparation
    2. You can derive Funcational Area by maintaining Substituation Rules and Activating them. Follow the path  - IMG - Financial Accounting - Finacial Accounting Global Settings - Company Code - Cost of Sales Accounting -  Set up Substitution for Cost of Sales Accounting - Define Substitution.
After define substitution, activate the same.
    Hope this will help you.

  • GR/IR - Commitment item derivation

    Hi everyone,
In our case (ECC 6) the GL acct number and CI number are always the same. However, when i look at a couple documents that have GR/IR posting, the GL account and commitment item are different. I cannot see any possible derivation rule that can possibly cause this. I did see other discussions in this forum about a 'fmderive-bypass' for GR / IR transactions. Can someone explain in more detail what this is and if it is relevant in my scenario? Secondly if if GR/IR GL account 123 derives commiitment item 456 (instead of CI 123), then wher exactly is this set? what setting do i need to look into to find out where and  why this is happening?
    Thank you,

    Hi ,
As per the issue that you are facing , you have defined the same commitment item for same GL A/c .
The possible reasons for the same are the derivation rules that you have defined in FMDERIVER .
Kindly check the derivation strategy that you have defined - FMDERIVE .
Secondly check the relevant GL A/c what is the commitment item that you have enterd there .
For having a check on how the derivation is taking place during the transaction , you can always activate the trace and see how the commitment items are getting populated .
for activating the trace do the following : go to FMDERIVE - double click the relevant derivation strategy - click on the test button and in the bottom u will see an option for trace activate that and you will find that a green signal is populate at the right end corner .
do take care to check the transaction from the same user ID where in you have activated the trace .
    Cheers ,

  • Method is called in the superclass, instead of the derived class

    Hello,
I have created a FI workflow for releasing invoices, and a BO called ZSF1FIPP that is derived from FIPP. in ZSF1FIPP I had defined all the methods needed for the workflow, like GET LEVEL.
In all the workflow tasks, the object assigned is ZSF1FIPP.
When I test run the workflow, I get an error like, straight in the first task:
'Method GET LEVEL is not implemented in FIPP'.
    That is very puzzling.
The WF was transported from another system, and activated without error in the new system. I have deleted and then recreated the ZSF1FIPP object, with the same result in workflow. If I test the object alone, it works without a glitch.
If you have any clue about this, please advise.
    Regards,
    Adrian

    Hello,
Thx for answering to my question.
In swo1 I have enterd FIPP and then the button subclass. Then I had filled all the details requested by sap, and created the ZSF1FIPP subclass.
If I ciick the general details button, I cand see FIPP as super class.
Do I have to do some thing else also, to activate the link ?

  • Derivation of functional area in CO

    Hi all,
CO postings with the use of the functional area are incorrect because:
    - the validity dates of the functional area (settings made in FM_Function) should prevent me from making postings in CO in certain cases. For example, I'm making internal CO postings (KP06) for the year 2008 period 12 and the functional area is valid until 2007 period 12. The system lets me register the postings. In the other hand, such a control is effective in FI because a FB60 execution controls the date with the functional area validity period.
For me it's a bug. Can you help me to identify it?
    Thanks in advance

  • Integration between HR and FM derivation

    Hi,
Does anyone know how not to integrate HR with FM?
Currently, when we try to execute a HR transaction, for e.g., PR05 for travel expense claims, the system prompts for a Fund Center to be derived.  How do I deactivate this?  I did not configure anything at all in FM to integrate HR.
    Requires help urgently please...
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Maz Lin,
Following the path: IMG->Public Sector Mangament->Actual and Commitment Update/integration->Activate and deactivate funds management. Remove the check boxes from the company codes.

  • Error occurred in derivation rule in SAP

    Hi All
i am trying to post the document as well to create the new PR i am getting the below error messge as
'Error occurred in derivation rule. See long text
    Message no. K/101
    Diagnosis
    : Fund From Commitment Item
No entry in a derivation rule was found for the specified source fields.
The derivation rule was set up so that an error message appears when this happens.
The required derivation rule entry would need the following source fields:
    Commitment Item
    350801
    Procedure
Create an entry in a derivation rule for these source field values. Make sure that entries exist for all the valid source field values. If the derivation should not always be carried out, you can also define a derivation rule so that no error message appears if a derivation rule entry does not exist.

    Hi Krishguna,
You need to check your derivation rule, T. Code: FMDERIVE for Fund then activate the trace, this will help you why fund is not deriving from commitment item, or tell us the detail of derivation for fund you have set.
    Thanks

  • Derivation Rules Not Working for other company codes

    Hi,
I have 5 Company codes and only for one FM was activated. now i want to activate FM for all 5 company codes. for which i have assigned the FM area to all 5 company codes. I have also assigned the derivation strategy to all 5 company codes as well. now when i post a transaction for any other company code derivation rules is not being process hence no commitment item or fund center is derived. however for the original company code for which FM was activated in the first derivation rule are working fine means system is deriving commitment item and fund center. can any one tell me why derivation rules are not working for other company codes? do i have to add Company code in source field of derivation strategy? could this be the reason? because in beginning there was no other company code so we did not included any company code field in the first place.
    Regards,

    Faizan,
Go to  Funds Management Government> Actual and Commitment Update/Integration> Activate/Deactivate Funds Management.
In the screen create an entry for each Company Code and Funds Management Area combination.
Activate the AA Derivtn flag if you want the derivation to be called and the Update flag if you want to update commitments and actuals in FM.
    Thanks

  • Deleting derivation rule for the existing characteristic in operating conce

    Hi all
My customer has two characteristics" Billing Doc(VBELN)" and" Warranty status" in the development and testing client and not in the production now.
Option 1 : Is to delete them but as the data is already posted for the same in the test and development client,it is lot more complex( involves  implementation of OSS notes-SAPNET note 21207) .
Option 2: If we decide to keep them for now:These two have a derivation rules too. So  can we simply delete the derivation rules so that data will not get posted to them( So will not effect the PSG i.e ce4xxxx table in production once the same transport is moved to production). There are no dependencies on this derivation rule.
Option 3: Can we also remove them from segment level characteristics?
Please let me know pros and cons ?
I really appreciate your time and effort.
    Thanks & Regards
    Sri

    Hi,
If the characteristics have not been transported to production then why don't you delete them in the dev/test system ? Here you can take the risk.
To delete characteristics or value fields, perform the following
    activities:
    1. Delete the corresponding characteristics and value fields from Customizing in all clients (this includes forms, reports, planning
layouts, and so forth). To locate characteristics and value fields, use the appropriate where-used list in the Customizing Monitor. You can access it by choosing Tools -> Analysis -> Check Customizing Settings (TA KECM).
You can jump directly from the where-used list to the relevant Customizing transaction and then delete the appropriate field there.
    2. Switch to the screen for maintaining the data structure of an operating concern (Maintain operating concern).
    3. If you need to effect other changes to the datastucture for the operating concern before making any deletions, effect those changes and save the data structure.
    4. In order to be able to select the fields of the data structure, choose Extras -> Characteristics (or Value fields) -> Unlock.
    5. Select the characteristics and value fields to be deleted and remove them from the data structure with the "Reset fields" function.
    6. Reactivate the operating concern. The system starts by checking whether the operating concern contains any data and whether the fields to be deleted are still being used in any Customizing settings.
    7. If none of the fields are still in use, the system then starts the re-activation. If the operating concern does not contain any data or does not require the database system to be converted, the tables are activated. You are then able to activate the environment for the operating concern. In this case, the following activities no longer apply.
If the operating concern already contains data, a system message tells you that the database needs to be converted. If you proceed, an activation log appears (at the top of the list).
    8. Analyze the activation log. If it only contains error messages telling you to convert the tables, proceed with the next activity.
You must otherwise remove the cause of the errors before the tables can be converted. In this case, you should answer "No" to the next prompt, which asks whether the conversion transaction should start.
    9. If you still only receive error messages telling you to convert the tables, choose "Back" and start the conversion.
    10. Plan a job for the conversion. A list of the tables to be converted is shown for this. If the tables only contain a small amount of data (less than 10 000 records), then all the tables can be converted in one job. In that case, you can select all the tables.
For larger tables, conversion should take place in several jobs.
However, you should ensure that table CE4xxxx (where xxxx = operating concern) is the last table to be converted.
Warning. No other changes can be made to the operating concern during the conversion.
A copy of the table is generated during the conversion. The database system should have sufficient memory available for this copy.
To schedule conversion as a job, use the "Schedule selections" function.
You can display the current status of the conversion by selecting the "Refresh" icon. Tables disappear from the list once they have been converted sucessfully. If a conversion is taking a while, it is also possible to leave the transaction. You can then continue the conversion using DB requests -> Mass processing in one of the following ways:
With the job overview. You access this by choosing System -> Services ->Jobs.
Using the database utility transaction. You access this by choosing Utilities -> Database Utility in the ABAP Dictionary menu.
You can use the status function to call up the status of the operating concern during operating concern maintenance. You need to activate all tables after conversion.
    11. To analyze errors that have occurred during the conversion, you can use the database utility transaction by choosing Extras -> Logs. The log has the same name as the conversion job: TBATG-date. You can also restart the conversion with this transaction.
For more information on the database utility, choose Help -> Application help while still in the above transaction.
    12. Once you have activated all the tables in the operating concern, generate the operating concern environment from within operating concern maintenance.
You can then use the operating concern again.
Please, refer to the IMG documentation under Controlling ->Profitability Analysis -> Structures -> Define operating concern
-> Maintain operating concern, for further details.
    regards
    Waman
