Activate FMS4 AMI ( Amazon Machine Image )?

Greetings.
I just set up a new copy of the official Adobe Amazon Machine Image for FMS4.  It works great.  One show stopper: it seems to require a license key in fms.ini, just like any other FMS4 install.  The master log file has "invalid license key" in it. We tried giving it the "Activation key" -- no dice.  There's a license directory in /opt/adobe/fms with 3 .bin files.  We tried entering the path to that directory for the license key, but no dice.  The docs don't say anything about it.
So far today, I've spent over 3 hours being transferred around Adobe and listening to elevator music.  I still don't have an answer, and no one has stepped up to the plate and offered to get back to me.  At the moment, our testing process is on hold.  Would someone at Adobe please answer how we activate this product?  Barring that, could you please provide an Adobe support contact that has at least heard of the Amazon AMI product?
Thanks,
Paul

I wish they would offer a Flash media Streaming server which allow at least 1 (in words: 1) server side application ...
Do you listen Adobe ! ? Wowza is getting more and more attractive to us...

  • Where can I find the ColdFusion Amazon Machine Image (AMI)?

According to several articles I read last year prior to the release of ColdFusion 9, Adobe made an Amazon Machine Image for CF9 available.  However, I can't find it anywhere on Amazon's AMI list.  Conducting a search on adobe.com and these forums, I can't find any articles discussing the use of CF9 on EC2.
Can someone confirm whether or not there is a publicly available CF9 AMI image and where I can find it?  Alternatively, any existing articles on how to set one up with CF9 would be helpful.
    Thanks,
    -Jose

Bump... beyond the information released in Oct 2009, its been quiet.
Any updates - particularly from Adobe?

  • Trying p2v import of virtual machine image, server pool not chooseable

I'm trying to import a virtual machine image via p2v from an OEL 5 bare metal image. I go to resources, virtual machine images, Import, choose p2v, and then on the General Information page, it asks for Server Pool Name. The name of my one and only server pool is not in the dropdown. The dropdown only contains "Select Server Pool". I tried to fill in the rest and hit Next but it failed me on the Server Pool name.
How can I get the server pool name to show up in that dropdown?
There is one server pool, one server, and one vm already on that server.
    thanks,
    Peter

It's a bug, I had the same problem. I used this and it worked (copying and pasting from an old thread with the solution):
    Workaround:
VM Manager -> Server Pools -> Select Server Pool Name -> EDIT -> Check the box of “Enable High Availability” -> Apply -> Ignore the “Shared storage is not mounted, or the file system is invalid. The file system should be OCFS2 or NFS.” error message. Leave unchecked the box of ”Enable High Availability” -> Apply again:
    “The server pool updated successfully.”
Now you can retry the import.

  • GX620 HDD failed, where to find machine image as download?

My neighbor's hard drive failed (or it's the controller, but the HDD just clicks and the BIOS won't see it and I get a PXE-E61: Media test failure) and they did not make backups of the machine images from the image partition (at least, Google leads me to believe that's where it's at).
Where/how can I download the image for them so I don't have to go through the grind of reinstalling EVERYTHING for them? It's Christmas, someone take pity on the nice guy!
    Thanks in advance,
    Eric

    Thanks, dude, I'm with you.
For my own machines, they get wiped and reinstalled. I've upgraded many Vista machines to XP after fighting with Vista all the way through SP1. Someone remind me why I waited so long again?    I'd upgrade my wife's too if I had a license of XP Tablet laying around.
    http://dotnet.org.za/codingsanity/archive/2007/12/14/review-windows-xp.aspx
However, this is my neighbors' machine, they're far from power users, and predominately surf the web and run MS Office apps, so the default image should be fine and will save me chasing down any drivers (google seems to indicate some of the drivers are elusive - we'll see). Not sure I want to invest 3-5 hours customizing it for them, as much as I love them.
They didn't get any discs, just the machine, the backpack, etc.
I'll have to borrow a buddy's MSDN to get the OEM version of Vista and use the SerNo on the bottom of the machine since all my other machines came with images and not the real dealio. I have tons of original XP, NT, 95, etc. disks in the library, but no Vista.
No response from support yet. Never heard of MSI before my neighbors asked me to look at it last night, we'll see where we end up. Looks like a decent machine, found it interesting the BIOS' minimum overclocking was 15%. LOL

  • Time machine image on USB drive.....but USB needed for System restore?

I have a corrupted system image on my macbook air, that requires that I restore the system via the installer CD's....the problem is that I have a backup of my system as a time machine image, on an external, USB hard drive.
How do I do a reinstall of Mac OS, and a restore of my time machine image, if I only have one USB port that is needed to access the Installer DVD?.....how do I get my hard drive (with the Time Machine image) connected while the Mac OS installer is active?

The best answer to your question is to put the System restore disk in a remote machine and restore over the network. While slow, this will allow you to have the timemachine drive connected during the restore process.
If you do not have another machine then I am sure you can take your hardware to an Apple store and one of the Geniuses can get it up and going for you while in the store.
If you have a hub and the wired ethernet adapter that will drastically improve the speed of this process.

  • Problems with backing up with time machine: image file already in use

I back up my iMac with Time machine and my 1st generation time capsule works fine for a while, then I get the error message "The backup disk image marco’s iMac.sparsebundle” is already in use". And I need to delete it and start from scrach - annoying.
    Any help? thx
    Marco

If you are using OS 10.7.5 as your profile shows, you should have Airport Utility 5.6. If you select the drive and open manual setup you can disconnect all users.

  • Machine imaged with FOG keeps losing trust relationship and reverting name

A Dell Optiplex 980 workstation (Win7 Pro x64) that I imaged with FOG has lost its trust relationship to the domain and reverted its hostname back to what it was originally (when imaged). It has done this twice in the past few days.
I can disjoin/rejoin the domain and rename the PC with the local admin account (done this twice now also), but what could be causing the name to revert? I have never seen this before. I'm fairly sure that losing the TR is only caused because of the name change. Could this be a setting in FOG causing this? I have FOG set to *not* join the machine to the domain after image task, I do it manually. Maybe I should be having FOG do it? Thanks....

You need to make sure that your reference machines are sysprepped before proceeding to the deployment.
Also, you need to make sure that your AD replication and DC health status are fine. You can achieve that using
dcdiag and repadmin commands. You can also refer to my article here: http://www.ahmedmalek.com/web/fr/articles.asp?artid=23
The issue can also be caused by security software you are running on your machines.

  • Virtual Machine Image

    Hey guys
i was wondering if theres a guide to making a complete VM Image of my KDE Archlinux installation on the hard disk /dev/sdc on my pc, so  that i can run it in a virtual machine without having to resetup everything

    Hey guys
ok ive read the wiki and i do understand abit more now about disk cloning
But im wondering how id go about achieving my goal
    basically
    I have windows 7 on /dev/sdb
    and archlinux on /dev/sdc
I want to make a clone of /dev/sdc, an image, and put it /dev/sdb, and then convert that image, or find a way to use in VirtualBox in windows 7 without curropting my windows 7 MBR or installation
so what would be the best way to achieve this
basically what im asking is like. when you use dd and save the image as .img.gz , do you restore it the same way in a virtualbox, since VM would have different partitions etc. or can i save the file as a .vdi and would that work
so like how would i get that dd image to work in virtualbox

  • Can I transfer time machine image from one MacBook to another if both have same OS version and both have same size hard drive?

I purchased a MacBook Pro in December 2010.  Got it with 500GB, 7200 RPM hard drive.  Used Time Machine to create back up. Gave the computer to my son last week and just purchased a new generation MacBook Pro with the same hard drive as old Mac.  I have had issues with bootcamp on new Mac so I removed the partition and now new Mac will not boot without holding down Option key. I know I can do a re-install of the OS.   But, can I use the Time Machine back up from the old Mac to restore the new Mac to look just like the old Mac?  Partition and all?  I did have bootcamp working just fine on the old Mac.  Put lots of software on it that I now don't have on the new Mac (but would like to have).  So, am I just hopeful or can I use the Time Machine back up from the old Mac to restore my my Mac?  If so, how do I do it.  I am a recent PC convert who is pretty good on PC, but a babe in the woods on my Mac.

No.  Time Machine won't get your boot camp partition back.  There are excellent utilities that move entire hard drive contents among hard drives such as SuperDuper! and CCC, but as far as I know they don't work with boot camp partition.  My suggestion: reinstall Mac OSX on your new Mac (you don't want to hold Option key to start it everytime anyway), partition it with boot camp exactly (or similarly) as you did to your previous Mac (install the same operating system, which should be one of the Microsoft Windows I assume).  Use Migration Assistant as kaz-k suggested to move all the stuff on the Mac partition of your previous Mac.  Reboot both your Macs from the boot camp partition - I assume they are all on Windows platform.  Now you have two computers on Windows platform.  Use Norton Ghost or similar tools to migrate all the stuff from your old machine to your new machine.  Hope this helps.  Backup all your data before such operation.  Good luck.

  • How do I remove [date].inprogress image from Time Machine image?

I had a restart on my time machine during the back-up. Since, then all back-ups fail. I think it has to do with the temp file that is created named [backup date and time].inprogress. Regardless, all the files are protected and cannot be deleted. I tried changing permissions, but that is not allowed. All fails.
    Any guidance is much appreciated.
    I am using Yosemite 10.10.2.
    Thanks,
    Baba

Open Time Machine preferences, click on the Options button. At the bottom of the exclusion list click on the Add [-] button, select the drive in the File dialog, click on the Exclude button. Understand that this configuration will only remain as long as the drive remains mounted.

  • Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1.3 App Tier and DB Tier in US-West region

    Hi,
We need to setup 12.1.3 Vision instance on Amazon EC2. When I am checking details on AMI (Amazon Machine Images) for Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1.3 App Tier and DB Tier, I see below
“This AMI is currently available for use in the US-East region and for the High-Memory instance family (m2.xlarge, m2.2xlarge, and m2.4xlarge)”
Does it mean we can’t use it for US-West region? I could not find any phone number to contact AWS sales person.
we need to setup instance this week for client's demo. Appreciate quick response.
    Thanks,
    Jigisha

    Hello
See the logfiles adwork001.log to adwork004.log. The last lines show the errors ocurred. The best thing to do is to open an SR with Support sending those error messages.
    Hope this helps.
