Hi Ary,
>>how can I activate office desktop applications through GPO ?
As far as I know, group policy can’t help us activate applications.
Regarding how to activate Office 365, in order to get more professional help, we can ask for advice in the Microsoft Office 365 Community.

  • Use Powershell to bulk activate office 365 Education E1 Students license for 900 synced users

    Hi,
We have synced 900 users and we need to active "Office 365 Education E1 for Students" (STANDARDWOFFPACK_STUDENT)  license for them using the powershell.
With the following command I am able to activate one user at a time; Is there anyway to do it to bulk users ?
Set-MsolUserLicense -UserPrincipalName [email protected] -AddLicenses "teamxxx:STANDARDWOFFPACK_STUDENT"
And also with the "Office 365 Education E1 for Students" activation I only want "Office Online for Education" to be activated but not "Lync Online", "Sharepoint" and "Exchange Online".
Any help would be much appreciated, thank you.

    You have to get instructions from them on which keys are to be activated.  YOuo need to activate each product.  YOu are only activating the base product.  Lync and Visio are optional licenses.  It is not a PowerShell issue;
Notice this parmeters is plural for a reason:
    -AddLicenses
    "teamxxx:STANDARDWOFFPACK_STUDENT"
You can put an array of licenses.  STANDARD is just the base office product.  Ask themfor the license strings for the other or look at them online.
    See this:

Exchange is part of Office365.  I don't see how you can not have it.  Youc can control which products are downloadable.
    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  • Cannot activate office 365 after latest upgrade

Having downloaded the latest Yosemite  0.1 upgrade  I cannot activate Office 365 .
    Anyone else having this problem?

Yes I know 365 is MS, I wondered if anyone else was experiencing the same problem. As it happens i have discovered that a new password has to be issued by MS to activate or reactive this and other apps. I believe this is some kind of MS patch particular to Mac use of MS software - but I maybe mistaken. Anyway anyone using Mac Office 365 home edition may need to log onto their MS account to obtain a new password to activate their software.

  • Windows Desktop Application for text messages?

Hello, For Verizon Messages / text messaging - Is there a Windows Desktop application available to download? I would like to use an actual app instead of the browser on my desktop. • Every time I restart my computer, I have to log in to Microsoft Office 365 to use applications

After starting my computer, I have to sign into Microsoft 365 or enter a product key to open up Word documents, Excel sheets or Powerpoint. This is problematic because I don't always have internet wherever I go and thus, don't have access to Office. Help!

    Hi
According to your description, you want to work offline with Office 365.
Internet access is required to install and activate all Office 365 plans and to manage your subscription account. Internet connectivity is also required to access Office 365 cloud productivity services, including email, conferencing, IT management, and other
    services.
Many Office 365 plans also include the desktop version of Office, for example, Office 365 Small Business Premium and Office 365 Enterprise E3. One of the benefits of having the desktop version of Office applications is that you can work offline and have
the confidence that the next time you connect to the Internet all your work will automatically sync, so you never have to worry about your documents being up to date. Your desktop version of Office is also automatically kept up to date and upgraded when you
connect to the Internet, so you always have the latest tools to help you work.
    Compare Office 365 plans.
Office365 supports offline working in a number of ways.
SharePoint Online – Use SharePoint Workspace to synchronise Documents between your local PC and your SharePoint Online Site allowing offline working.
Use Microsoft Office Professional Plus – Subscribe and receive you can install the full install of the Microsoft Office Suite to use on your computer (and up to 4 others which you use) – this includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Onenote, Access, Lync,
    SharePoint Workspace & Infopath.

  • Windows desktop VM licensing

    Hi...
What's the licensing requirement to build the following test environment -
For 10 users to access 20 Windows 7 or 8 Professional virtual machines. All the virtual machines are based on a server/hypervisor. All the user workstations are using Windows client OS, Windows 7 or 8.  Occasionally a user may 'check out' a VM to his/her
own computer for testing purpose (original VM on server will be shut down.)
    So here's my questions:
From my reading for a user to access Windows client OS VM, locally or in data center, he/she needs OEM + software assurance or VDA. So if all user workstations are licensed with SA/VDA, do I still need to purchase 20 Windows Client OS license? Some people
suggests Data Center edition which I don't quite understand, as data center edition is for Windows Server OS.
My second question is, since users are accessing those 20 VMs remotely via rdp, is remote desktop license needed?
    Thank you in advance!

    In addition...
"Occasionally a user may 'check out' a VM to his/her own computer for testing purpose (original VM on server will be shut down.)"
Make sure you use KMS, otherwise you may soon run out of MAK activations.
    And clarification...
The reason that people recommended DataCenter edition is the cost. In the past it was cheaper to purchase Windows Server DataCenter edition than a number of Windows 7/8 licenses with VDI licenses + SA licenses. DataCenter license allows unlimited number
of VM's on a physical server, so a powerfull server could host tens, maybe hundred VM's (I've seen servers with 300 GB RAM). Server OS could be tweaked to resemble client OS (by adding desktop experience feature). In addition VDI and SA are subscription licenses,
while you coud buy Datacenter OEM license - one time purchase when you buy a server. I've seen customers using this option when they were using Citrix XenApp. XenApp would only present application window to the user, so (s)he was unaware what OS was running
in the background. Please be aware that prices and terms are changing constantly, so please check for the current costs and options.

  • Exchange / Office 365 / windows 7 / Windows Security

I am receiving almost every 2 minutes or so a message from WINDOWS SECURITY asking me for the password of my exchange email account. how can I dis-activate this?

    Hi,
Based on my research, here are some troubleshooting methods you can refer to:
    1. Repair your Outlook profile:

    2. Check the connectivity by the ExRCA:https://testconnectivity.microsoft.com/

  • Windows desktop application -- version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running

I am developing on 64-bit Windows7 Enterprise using VisualStudio 2013.  I created a new Windows desktop VB.net application and just created a release build of the default solution/project targeting "Any CPU".  I provided the EXE to a
colleague who is also running 64-bit Windows7 Enterprise but receives the following error...
"The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running.  Check your computer's system information to see
whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher."
I changed the build configuration to create a "x86" build but my colleague received the same error.  Any ideas why this would be happening (I checked and my colleague has .Net4 Framework installed as well)?  Thank you for your time and
    response!

"The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running.
Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher."

    Hi sunisha,
According to your description, you'd like to run the application in your colleague's computer.
I provided the EXE to a colleague who is also running 64-bit Windows7 Enterprise but receives the following error...
If you want to test the application, you could provide the whole Debug folder to colleague instead of the single exe.
"The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher."
Check if the collegue's computer is running 64-bit windows:
Enter Control Panel, click on System and Security.
Under this, you can view the system type. This will describe whether you have 32-bit or 64-bit.
You can also try compatiblity mode.
If the program is not compatible, then you may try to install and run the program in compatibility mode.
    Use the following steps:
    1)   Right click on the Program
    2)   Click on Properties
    3)   Click on Compatibility tab
    4)   Select Run this program in compatibility mode and select Windows Vista or whatever operating system the program was running successfully.
And if you still have questions, I suggest you deploy the application to the Local Network with clickOnce, then your collegue can install the application from the network.
    #ClickOnce deployment
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/t71a733d(VS.80).aspx
And also, you could recreate a new small application in your computer in Any CPU, then check if this small new application can work well in your colleague's computer. This can judge if the problem is caused by your application.
If you have any other concern regarding this issue, please feel free to let me know.

  • How to use linphone - open sip VoIP library in Windows desktop application.?

I want to develop an VoIP .net application in C# lang for windows desktop. Does anyone know any open sip VoIP library to use.? I know about Linphone. but it is available for Android, iOS and Windows(app developed using GTK- UI builder). If anyone knows how
to use Linphone for windows then ans also will be appreciated.
I am using MS visual studio for application development. Tell me its compiling steps as well. How to use that in WPF or WinForms.?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello,
The VoIP seems not MS product and can you clarify it? Basically, if it is third party product, you will need to ask for the API writer for details. For example, find a forum here:

  • Problems with VAMT 3 to Activate Office and windows

Hope someone can help with this problem.  =)
The  School that i work for has a Volume Licence Agreement  for Windows and Office, and now we are starting to deploy office 2013 plus.
Our problems started when we upgraded to VAMT 3.  The proccess went like this:
Downloaded and installed all components from the Windows
ADK, then imported the vamt 2 catalog (all the computers activated with vamt 2 are shown correctly)  then added the Windows 8 and Office 2013 MAK keys to VAMT 3.
Next step was to search for devices, (by hostname),
VAMT 3 found the computer, then proceeded to to update the licence status for the computer, then a window came up stating :  0/1 completed 0/0 succesfull  0/0 Failed .  No further error is shown.
in order to troubleshoot i completely disabled Firewall  and UAC, also added the suggested Dword  LocalAccountTokenFilterPolicy Value=1 to the registry on the client computer.
The Computer that has windows ADK has Windows 7 pro 64 bits and its up to date.
Any help is welcome.  Thanks in advanced.

    Hi,
You encounter a known issue described in the following article:
When opening a Computer Information List (.cil file) saved in a previous version of VAMT, the edition information is not shown for each product in the center pane. Users must update the product status again to obtain the edition information
