Activate photoshop on a new computer new windows version

Hi, I have problems using the photoshop CS on my new computer. It asks me to contact Adobe to activate it. I could not do this any way it has suggested.

The activation servers for CS and CS2 have been taken down. Adobe has a non-activation copy of Photoshop CS2 free of charge for you. Download the installer and use the serial number listed next to it.

How do I activate Photoshop on my new computer?

( sorry to be taking so long to reply: I've got small grandchildren
bedding down on the floor of my study for their visit with us..so I have
    limited access to my computer..)
    Yes,
I've tried to download that version, but the installation date given for
the program shown on my computer indicates it is the old version, which
I had used for making chapter illustrations I needed a few months ago
(under the 30 day grace period for updating what I hadn't realized was
an old program).  That is also the one that stated  when I tried to open
it that the serial number was incorrect  (taken from the WIN CS2 line on
the table in the provided Adobe).  Is it possible that I need to
uninstall my original CS2 version (which I had downloaded from the disk
seven or so years ago)?   Is that program preventing the "upgrade"
    ("retrograde"?) from the website?
Later- I have also just discovered a charm for additional Photoshop
program labeled "Adobe Image Ready CS2" on  my start window.  It appears
to function like the original CS2.  Is that the non-activation version
you mention and that I had indeed downloaded this CS2 version?  If so,
that's it. If so also, should I delete the original CS2 program or is it
needed for the Image Ready CS2 version to properly function?
    Thanks.

I did not deactivate a photoshop cs6 before there was a new "C" hard drive installed on my computer and a Win7 Pro fresh install too. How can I activate photoshop on the new hardware if I can't deactivate it on the old hardware that is no longer available? Any help will be appreciated.

If it's the same machine (same CPU) there should not be any need to activate.  The actiovation is tied to your CPU.

  • Re-activate Photoshop CS5 on new laptop: can't locate serial number.

I have Photoshop cs5 installed on an old laptop, and want to transfer it to a new Windows 8 tablet, but I can't find my serial number. I *think* I downloaded the program from Adobe, because I still have the Photoshop download directory in my Downloads folder. But, I have no email with the serial number, and it's not registered in My Account on adobe.com. How do I de-activate from my old machine and re-activate on the new? Thanks for any help.

  • Old version of photoshop compatibility with new Windows 8

Will Photoshop Elements 2 install correctly in Widows 8.1?

Photoshop elements 2 should work on windows 8.1 as long as your hard drive isn't bigger than 1 TB.
Pse 2 can't see hard drives that are bigger and/or have more than 1 TB of free space.
How big is the hard drive on your new computer?

  • Installing Photoshop CS4 on new Windows 8 machine

When I try to run Setup.exe to install CS4 on my new Windows 8 machine, an error message comes up "The Installer Database is corrupt.  Please contact Adobe Customer Service."  I have already installed Lightroom 4, and it worked correctly.  What should I do?

if you've had a cs4 (trial or otherwise) previously installed, run the cleaner (http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html) and restart your computer.
then install using compatibility mode and running as administrator.

  • I just installed Photoshop CC on new Windows 8.1 pro system and now it wont create new file or open existing files.

Ugh this is so frustrating and I suspect it is an easy fix I am too tired to figure out.
I just got a new PC and installed Creative Cloud and Photoshop CC, logged in and launched Photoshop. It launches fine, no error messages or anything. The tutorial window pops up and I close it. Then if I try to create a new file (the option window comes up) nothing happens after I submit the options. I mean nothing. No error message, no crash, no file canvas nothing. If I try to open an existing file it loads Photoshop as if it is going to open the file and Photoshop loads without any error messages but no file, again nothing.
    Please help.
I am so behind in my work lol.

After three or four tries, it just started working - I didn't change any settings or anything. I was just showing my friend how it wouldn't work and bam it opened a file finally...
    never seen this behavior before...

  • Does bridge come with photoshop with the new cloud version?

I had to buy a new computer today and looks like I have to start using the adobe cloud versions of the programs. I don't see bridge? Does it come with it?

Bridge is a separate install in CC but is of course included.

  • Transfer and activate photoshop elements on second computer

I have Photoshop elements 6 - still have the box with serial number but the disc is missing. The computer i have been using has died! I have the hard disc so can access the programmes and files etc but am aware that I can't just copy from the old computer to a laptop. How can I get the software onto the laptop and use the S/N to activate?

i think photoshop elements 7 is the earliest version with installation files still available from adobe.
afaik, you'll need to upgrade (http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop-elements/buying-guide.displayTab3.html) or try and use your pse 6 from your old hd.

  • How do I activate Photoshop Elements 10 even though the latest version is version 12.

I have an unused key for Photoshop Elements 10 that I want to use.

if you follow all 7 steps you can directly download a trial here:  http://prodesigntools.com/photoshop-elements-10-direct-download-links-pse-premiere-pre.htm l
and activate with your serial number.
if you have a problem downloading, you didn't follow all 7 steps, or your browser does not accept cookies.
the most common problem is caused by failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).
failure to obtain that cookie results in an error page being displayed after clicking a link on prodesigntools.com

  • Activate photoshop in new computer without deactivating in the old one?

    Hello,
My old computer is dead and I need to activate photoshop in my new computer without having deactivated in the old one. Do anybody know how to do it?

You are allowed to have two activated installations, so if you only ever had the one then there is nothing to keep you from activating a new installation.  If you would like to free up the inaccessible activation then you need to contact Adobe Support thru chat and ask them to reset your activations.
For the link below click the Still Need Help? option in the blue area at the bottom and choose the chat option...

  • Photoshop transfer to new computer?

Firstly, I'm not sure if I'm putting this in the right place, and I didn't see my issue anywhere else..
I have Photoshop CS6 Extended Student & Teacher Edition on my current laptop. I am getting a new laptop within the next week and am wondering if I will be able to install and activate Photoshop onto my new laptop without having to re-purchase the program or have to pay any extra fees? I could swear that when I first purchased the program, it told me I could activate it on up to 2 computers, but I haven't been able to find where it says that, so now I'm not so sure I ever did...
    Any help would be great!
    Thanks!

Just make sure to run Help --> Deactivate on your old system, if you no longer plan on using it.
