I have brought a new computer for work. when i play Youtube videos on IE its keep says " Activate Plug In" but with Chrome and Firefox its working fine. i am using windows 8. any idea for the cause.

You shouldn't use click-to-play in current Firefox version because there are still to many issues with it and it doesn't work for all plugins. 
That is the reason why it is disabled by default.
Set the Boolean pref plugins.click_to_play to false on the about:config page.

I don't know what kind of plug-in I need to activate. In fact I don't even know what a plug-in is. All I know is that when I attempted to download some photos and a document, both from an outside source, a box appeared saying "missing plug-in." I have used the the photo website many times before with no trouble. The one clue I have is that the most recent attempt to download the photos said that I needed to update my Adobe Reader, which I did, but alas, to no avail. Help! Please!

Why did the most recent update set all my plug-ins to Ask to Activate and disable an Adobe one?

Firefox update and none of my plug-ins were working till I went and changed them from Ask to Activate to Always Activate. This Adobe Acrobat NPAPI Plug-in says it needs to be updated but when I try it does not update. It returns to the same need to update screen. There is a problem with your latest update.

I did try to update the plug-in. I would not. I fixed the problem by uninstalling the new firefox and downloading an older version and making sure it didn't install the maintenance program. This keeps it from updating. I even tried the 31 beta firefox and it set all plug-ins to ask to activate. Until you can fix this problem I will remain using the older version that works properly.

For MS Visio (any version) only the appropriate version of Acrobat *PRO* provides PDFMaker for Visio.
For Visio 2013 specifically you must have Acrobat XI Pro (updated to at least 11.0.1).

QuickTime Plug-in for Chrome under OSX: how to activate?

How do I activate Quicktime plug-in on Chrome running under Yosemite?
QuickTime is obviously installed on my Air because it runs e.g. with Safari.
Surely I don't have to re-download QT?

Basically QT is 32-bit but Chrome is 64-bit and the Chromium team don't intend to fix it.

I want to know how I can re-activate the necessary plug-in in order to access youtube again.

I tried to watch a video on youtube.com, but every time I did, a message would pop up about allowing plug-ins for this site. Or you can only change the permissions for the plugins and possibly others to the default on the about:permissions page or in Tools > Page Info > Permissions if you have YouTube open in the currently selected tab.

Why won't Mozilla Firefox automatically actaivate the plug-ins like it used to do. I tried to follow directions on our website for fixing this but it did not work. I am running

In the past, to protect you from [https://support.mozilla.org/kb/use-plugins-play-audio-video-games plugins] that have stability or security issues, Firefox could only turn off the problematic plugin. Now Firefox can prevent the plugin from running automatically (which prevents many issues) and then let you choose to run or update the plugin.
