Activate Scenarios with Solution Builder CRM Best Practices V1.2007

Hi,
I finished all steps in Quickguide for CRM Best Practices V1.2007 until the end.
All worked fine without any problem.
Now I want to activate a scenario.
1. In the field Workbench I get a list of 15 Request/Task, I`m only able to select one.
2. In the field Customizing I do not get any values.
3. How to maintain this fields?
3. Do I have to create a customizing request?
Can anybody tell me how to proceed with this step? I copied the standard solution to my favorite Solution and marked seven scenarios.
Perhaps there is a another documentation than Solution_Builder_Quick_Start_V4
Regards
Andreas

Hi Andreas,
In the same popup window, at the bottom, you will find options to create work bench and customising requests.
You can assign only one workbench and one customizing request for all the activities of solution builder.
If you do not have an existing customizing request, choose the option to create one.

  • CRM Best Practices V1.2007 with ERP HR Integration, C01 and C05

    Hi,
working on Best Practices CRM V.1.2007 I  now should proceed with Building Block C01 (CRM Organizational Model).
I want to use the CRM System integrated with a new installed ERP System and HR Integration.
Therefore I have to use the Building Block C05 (CRM Organizational Model with HR Integration) instead of C01 (CRM Orgnizational Model)
My Question: Is it allowed to proceed with C05 by doing the work direct from the SAP GUI Menu; afterwards I could confirm the steps in the Solution Builder for C01?
    Regards, Andreas

    Hi Andreas,
Yes, you could do that. But be aware that the other building blocks for master and transaction data replication should not be started unless you are done with the org model BB C01.

  • Where to download CRM best practices

    Hi, guys:
I was trying to find the way to download CRM best practices from service.sap.com, however, I cannot find the path to find the document, if you know where it is, would you please let me know?
    Thanks,
    Eric

    Maybe
Thinking InJava would be a nice place to start.I just checked my library to see whether I own Effective Java (just
changed that). My first reaction was: "WTF? I have a J2ME book? And
JDBC, of all things!?" :)lol! In a way I like the idea of a j2me technology stack; I just find the
realization thereof a totally, dumb mess. Those telecom drones don't
really want to be compliant so nor will their implementations they
    provide either.
JDBC is just a necessary evil, no more no less. xml is an invention of
the devil's bad and nasty sister though ;-)

  • Using WebI with SAP BW Data - Best practice for introducing BW Accelerator

    Hi,
We have a significant investment in using BOE XI 3.1 SP2 integrated to SAP BW 7.0 EHP 1 SPS05.
Now we intend to introduce BW Accelerator to improve the data fetch performance for the Adhoc (WebI) Analysis and the formatted reports built using WebI (Infoview).
Data handling in question is approx. 2 Million+ records for each WebI report / adhoc analysis (20 to 30 columns).
The solution could be BW Cubes --> BW Accelerator --> BW Queries --> BO Universe --> WebI using Infoview
Does it really help in introducing the BW Accelerator like the case described above ?
Understand that the BW Accelerator could improve the performance of the underlying data and hence the BW Queries do work faster; but does it really improve (9x to 10x) performance for the MDX Queries generated by the BO Universe ( BOE XI 3.1 SP2 ) & WebI.
What is the roadmap for the future wrt BW Accelerator and SAP BI BO Integration; if we intend to use WebI ?
Or should be migrate to BO Explorer as the front end for Adhoc Analysis ?
Is BO Explorer able to present 1 Million + records with 20-30 columns ?
What is the best practice / better on performance; as an integrated product / solution ?
    1) BW Cubes --> BW Accelerator --> BW Queries --> SAP Integ Kit --> BO Universe --> WebI
    2) BW Cubes --> BW Accelerator --> ??? --> BO Explorer --> ??? --> WebI ???
    3) BW Cubes --> BW Accelerator --> ??? --> BO Pioneer --> ??? --> WebI ???
    4) BW Cubes --> BW Accelerator --> ??? --> BO Explorer
    5) BW Cubes --> BW Accelerator --> ??? --> BO Pioneer
    6) BW Cubes --> BW Accelerator --> BW Queries --> SAP Integ Kit --> Crystal Reports (to handle above data volume)
    7) BW Multiproviders --> BW Accelerator --> BW Queries --> SAP Web Analyzer (to handle above data volume)

    Hi,
We have a mix of Adhoc Analysis (60 %) and Formatted Reports (40%). We selected WebI as the tool for the purpose & used it for requirements which process approx. 2M records. We faced bottleneck issues on performance (we are on BO XI 3.1 SP2 & SAP BW 7.0 EHP1, SP05).
We are further analyzing possibility to introduce BWA; if this can handle similar record processing & still preserve our investment on OLAP Universes, WebI, SAP Integration Kit & training users on WebI frontend.
I see a lot of documentation suggesting "BO Explorer and BWA" - understand that BWA would improve the DB time and BO Explorer would help on the Front-end / OLAP time.
Request your guidance on the road map & continuation of investment using BWA + WebI.

  • Building a best practice web application using ColdFusion and Jave EE

I've been tasked with rewriting a software using ColdFusion.  I cannot seem to find a lot of information on best practice development in ColdFusion.  I am an experience Java developer who has never used ColdFusion before.  I want to build this application using a synergy of ColdFusion and Java EE technologies.  Can someone recommend me a book that outlines how to developer in ColdFusion?  Ideally this book assumes the reader is an experienced developer with no exposure to ColdFusion.  Ideally the methods outlined in the book are still "best practice" methods.

With IBM version of DOJO and JSF, will Eclipse and Tomcat help to speed up the development or do you suggest me to go for Rational Application Developer and WebSphere Application Server.
If I need to go with RAD and WAS, then I am new to RAD and WAS, is it easy to use RAD and WAS for this kind of application and implement web applicaiton fast.
Any feedback will be great help. Those don't sound like requirements of the system to me. They sound more like someone wants to improve their CV/resume
From what I've read recently, if it's just fast you want, look at Ruby on Rails

  • SINGLE 9513 with A&B 9216 best practice....

We have a couple 9216's (A&B side - VSAN numbers identical) and have reached our port count limit. We purchased one 9513 with two 48 port FC modules and one X9304-18k4 line rate card (18FC/4IP). The goal is to make the single 9513 our principle switch ISL'ed to the 9216's.
Is having one 9513 a good decision? Our thoughts were that it has so much redundancy built in and the performance is far beyond what we need we could just use one. I have never had anything but an A&B side of the fabric so wrapping my head around this and trying to keep it within best practice is proving difficult.
The 9216A&B VSANS numbers are identical. When we ISL the zones will merge thereby collapsing the A&B sides together. I really don't want to do that (would essentially become a meshed fabric right). I am thinking that I need to rename the VSAN's on the B side to not match A. Maybe make the even numbered VSAN the A side and the odd numbered VSAN the B side. That way I can keep the ISL's independent from each other and prevent the zones from collapsing into each other.
Also keep in mind that we may (eventually) purchase another 9513 and just move one of the FC48 modules over to separate the A&B side again at a later date. I want to keep this as flexible as possible in case that does happen.
Thoughts - comments - suggestions all welcome! Just please be nice. I am learning....

I think you are right on. The single 9513 can not have duplicate VSANs for the A and B 9216s. The odd/even idea makes the most sense. This way you can leverage the 9513 redundancy. You can match the same VSANs that exist in the A fabric, and only permit those VSANs across the ISLs to the A 9216. You will have to renumber the VSANs on the B 9216 and then match them on the 9513 and again, only permit those VSANs on the ISLs to the B 9216.
Things to keep in mind if you re-number the VSANs on the B 9216. If you match the domain numbers used on the corresponding A 9216 VSANs, and make them static, even if someone cross connects a cable the VSANs will not merge since there is domain confict. If you change the domain from the current one in use, hosts like AIX and HP-UX will get a new FCID. You may have to rescan the host to resolve the lun bindings.
If you have AIX and HP-UX, you may want to ensure that the target devices they use, get the same FCID after the VSAN renumber to avoid having to perform the rescan. (this may prevent matching the same domains used on the A 9216).
    Hope this helps,
    Mike

Just keep in mind that before you do any configurations , there has to be a transition program from the mannual system to the automated system.
Document every step in the AS IS stage and then let them know what all is possible and not possible in the E-rec module .

  • Build specifications best practice

I am just wondering what other users do when building Installers to find what is the most efficient method.
I used to include the LVRT Engine (LabVIEW Runtime) in the Installer Build
    PROS:
    1) Only one Installer required for the Target Computer to install everything making it much easier to install.
    CONS:
    1) Installer is very large - hundreds of Megabytes making it harder to distribute upgrades (eg. through e-mail).
    2) Each time you re-build the Installer takes a VERY long time, because it has to include the LVRT.
    3) If you change to a different LV version you then have to re-build using the new LVRT and the application EXE.
So I decided to split the installation of the LVRT from the Application EXE.
    PROS:
    1) The Executable is now very small - say 10 Megabytes even for a large application making it easier to send upgrades.
    2) Very quick to build a new Installer.
    3) For each version of the LVRT installed, there might be several upgrades to the EXE making this approach more efficient.
    CONS:
    1) I have to now build & run an Installer for the Apllication EXE AND run the LVRT Installer to install application on Target Computer.
Assuming we use the second approach, what is the best way of building and installing new and/or upgrading EXE applications?
In my application I build a new Executable for each new software change and then create an Installer (with the same version number) to install the new executable as shown below.
However each time I build a new Installer a new Upgrade code is generaterd - {45D6510F-EB72-4DA2-A8E6-A4CB2363129A} in the Version Information window and when I run the new Installer, if there is an existing installation present it just installs over it - BUT when you look in the ADD/REMOVE programs list there is a NEW entry each time a new Installer is run.
Now to overcome this I could just use one common Installer that I upgrade each time with the latest EXE build as follows...
But then I don't have separate Installers for each version and if I want to go back a version I have to build the Installer again.
So what is the best method?
    Chris

    Norbert_B wrote:
For longterm support, i suggest you to split the installers apart. One containing all components for executing the application (so drivers, LV RTE), another one for the application and it's support files (ReadMe, config, ...). Let's call the first installer "Framework Installer", the second "Application Installer".
    One correction in terminology btw:
Since LV RT is the abbrevation for LabVIEW Real Time, we use LV RTE (LabVIEW RunTime Engine) as abbrevation for the components required to execute compiled LV code.
    So why split up?
First, the big Framework Installer is not going to change much. It has to be updated once you update LV or some of the drivers, but for anything else, this could stay the same.
Second, updates for the application can be supplied in small packages. Most developers like to use simple "copy&replace" mechanism to do this, which works fine once you update only a few files; but ojnce you have to update significant things (several files, changes in expected directory structure), i recommend you to use an installer.
    Additional note on installers:
Each installer includes something called "upgrade code". This is the key the installer uses to register the application on the system. Once running another installer sharing this key, the OS will treat that as an update of the existing component. This is suggested to use once you want to replace things for a newer version of the application. Manual copy and replacing might induce errors....
    just my 5 cents,
    Norbert
I also wonder about the upgrade code. Would you use the same code for framework installer and application installer? If so, wouldn't the application installer remove the framework again?
When using different upgrade codes the user will have 2 entries in the control panel > add/remove software. In that case I how would installing a new framework deal with the files modified by another installer (the exe installer)?
Also, will uninstalling both "products" leave a clean system (independent of the uninstallation order)?

  • Building tables - Best practices?

    Hi all,
I hope this is a good place to ask a general question like this. I'm trying to improve myself as a DB designer/programmer and am wondering what are the current practices used when deploying a database that must be kept running at the highest performance possible (as far as selecting data and keeping the database clean).
Basically, here are the specific topics of concern for me:
    - table sizing
    - index sizing
    - oracle parameter tuning
    - maintenance work required to be done on tables/indexes
The things I've studied on were all based on Oracle 8i, and I'm wondering if much has changed for 9i and/or 10g.
    Thanks.
    Peter

Actually I'm not very new to doing database work now, but I do still consider myself not quite sufficient in certain aspects of a typical DBA. For that reason, I'm trying to keep my questions very general as though as I'm learning them afresh.
It does seem that I'm trying to ask something that is too broad to bring up in forum discussions... I'll go back and do some independent studies then come back to the forum with better questions. :)
When looking through the 10g bug reports in metalink, it made me uncomfortable on some issues that people have been running into (been a while since I did the initial evaluation, and I forgot which specific issues I looked at). I realized that Oracle 10g provided a lot of conveniences with their new web-based EM and EMServer (especially interested in the new reports and built-in automations that Oracle provided), and also on grid deployments for high-availability systems, but we've been held back by many reasons to not go forward with 10g at this time. Having said that, moving to 10g is still planned for the future, so I am continuing the evaluation in several aspects that are specific to our design to determine what we can use and/or abandon in our existing deployment processes.
Thanks for everyone's time, best wishes.
    Peter

  • How do you center dialogs with multiple monitors. code, best practices

My existing code will take the pixel size of the java app, and using the size of the dialog, it will center dialogs perfectly in the center of the application. This is great for single monitors, but when multiple monitors are introduced it is a problem. With dual monitor, the dialog is split in half between the two monitors.
I should be able to determine which pixel/frame initiated the user's action; and then i am hoping to get some code or direction on:
    1. how to determine which monitor the user initiated the action on (knowing the px or frame location, how would i do this)
    2. how to center dialog on that monitor
if possible, it would be appreciated if you can provide some code; i cant find anything on determing pixel size of monitors and this seems to be a little bit of a project to do from scratch. open source, 3rd party, insight, guidance, all is appreciated. thanks !

  • Question About CRM Best Practices Configuration Guide...

In the CRM Connectivity (C71) Configuration Guide, Sections 3.1.2.2.2 and 3.1.2.2.3, it mentions two clients, Cient 000 and the Application Client.  What are these two client?  I assumed Client 000 was my CRM client, but that sounds the same as what the application client should be.
    http://help.sap.com/bp_crmv340/CRM_DE/BBLibrary/Documentation/C71_BB_ConfigGuide_EN_US.doc

    Keith,
Client 000 is not the application client.
The client which is used in the middleware(e.g.CRM quality client - R/3 Quality client or CRM Production client-R/3 Production client)is the application client.
You have to do it once in client 000 and in your own created client which is used in the middleware connectivity.
