Activate workflow transportable

Hi Gurus,
When generating the workflow, it is asking me for a workbench request. Is this transportable to other clients/server? Also, when activating event, it also asks for workbench req. Can I transport it as well? I tried it several times but it doesnt reflect in our QAS/PRD. How can I activate event/workflow?

Hi Paul,
When you create a workflow template with tasks etc the system would ask for a workbench request. For all customizings like agane t assignment, start events, a customizing request is required. Both of these requests can be transported to other systems.
Please note to transport workbench request before the customizing requests.
Also synchronize the buffers after transporting the same using transaction SWU_OBUF.

Now for this task, I want to assign the PO creator. I do not want to assign Agent as a specific SAP user. It should be the generic user who creates the PO.
Business Requirement: A mail should be sent to purchaser, when the invoice is blocked for price reasons.
Please Advise.

I want to set a deadline monitoring for a case when the approver doesnt execute the workitem even after 2days. (so I believe I need to use "Requested Start")?
Further I understand how this is done, my question is can we do change it to the standard template or do I need to copy it and then make the changes.
Also Kindly share some information on using SRM ALERTS for the same functionality to send reminders/alets to approvers on delay of approving task.

Unable to activate Workflows can use app permissions feature

Iam unable to activate Workflows can use app permissions feature in sharepoint 2013. it throws sorry something went wrong error. Kindly somebody help me in resolving this issue

Workflows can use app permissions feature is only going to be activated if
1) You have configured your workflow manager properly. Make sure there are not issues with your workflow manager and you can create workflow using SP 2013 Workflow Manager.
2) You have configured apps for SharePoint 2013. Again you will need to make sure that you have hit all the check when configuring SharePoint 2013 apps.
Follow these two articles to make sure that you have configured apps for SharePoint 2013.

Use DirAPI to auto activate ID transports

All,
I recently comppleted DirAPI development to make mass changes to PI CC. Now the next step I would like to work on is:
Problem Statement: When we have more than one ID transport consisting of common Business System, Change Control team has to work with us to activate first transport before the next transport can be imported. This is becoming very cumbersome i.e if we have multiple transports more than one team is involved in importing and activating the cts+ transports.
I had read somewhere that we can use directory api toll to auto populate the communication channels and activate them automatically so that the next transport can be brought in without PI team intervention.
Please advice..on how this can be achieved.

Hi Vicky - How about below process?
Updating the channels which are in the change listThe channels will be in under change list of "nwds_ctsadm(cts user). So using the below utility update the channels with valid details.
Tool to update several communication channels in a change list in SAP PI - I'm sure you already aware of this.
(you might have to use the same user in your excel so that you can avoid the "change list transfer activity)
Activating the change listAs you might have noticed in the blog by William LI, you can activate the change list using directory APISo activate the change listChangeListServiceVi/ChangeListIn service should work for you i believe..
As you can merge the above two things into a single application (your excel utility), handover it to Basis team to execute this task after the transport has been imported.

CcBPM - can't activate workflow when using expression in Condition editor

Hi,
My workflow (generated by ccBPM) won't be activated when I try to do an IDOC comparison (on DOCNUM), using an index (count), in the ccBPM Condition Editor.
The condition looks like this:
(msgs_receive[count]./HRTRPR01/IDOC/EDI_DC40/DOCNUM = msg_receive./HRTRPR01/IDOC/EDI_DC40/DOCNUM)
There seem to be no errors when activating the Integration Process in the Integration Repository, however when looking into the SXI_CACHE, XI Directory cache, my integration process gets return code '99', even after reactivation.
I get this error:
Syntax error in expression Line1 Ext. IDE63443806B4211DBC393F1DE0ACE61FE
The exception occurred (program: CL_SAI_SWF_RULE
Symbol 'CE/KO' expected at position 1 in expression 'count{XSDSIMPLE::xsd:string;}'
The only interpretation I make out of this is that it doesn't like my index (count) variable.
Can anything be done to fix this?

Return code - 99
1) Export parameter might be wrong.
2) Check Oss Notes 901366 & 708338.
3) 99 occurs when there is a mismatch in the mapping
4) 99 occur if all the active correlations are not used.
5) Try this SXI_CACHE select your business process and
click on activate. change the the return code to 02
and upon activating again.

Problem in workflow transports

Hi guys,
I have a strange problem like I made some modifications in PO release wf. It is working fine in Development and it was working fine in Production also for a couple of wks. But I do not know what has happened suddenly, it is taking the oldest version of the workflow . Is there any specific way in transporting workflows.
Please reply back to me asap , as it is creating lot of problems to us.

i faced a similar issue, probably this should help u out :
Phenomenon:
You have changed your workflow template in client 000. If you look to the workflow definition in another client with SWDD, then you see the newest version as just maintained in client 000. But at runtime, the old (former) version of the workflow definition is used.
Cause:
When activating a workflow template, then also some client specific data is replicated from client 000 to the other clients. In this replication there is currently an error. I just talked to a workflow colleague. The problem we have observed seems to be just the tip of an iceberg ... . They are working on the issue(s) related to this.
Workaround:
Execute function module SWD_WFD_REPLICATE_FROM_9999 in the client, you need to have the newest template definition. Enter your workflow template ID (with pattern "WSxxxxxxxx") in parameter IM_TASK and execute. Make sure that you do not lock the template in SWDD.
Then you also (may) need to execute transaction SWU_OBUF to synchronize the buffer.

Workflow - Transport

Hi All,
Please let me know steps / checks to be taken care before and after Transport of Workflow across systems.
We have defined Business Objects, Workflow Definition, Organization Structure, Customizing Setting, Prefix Number Range under various tasks and TR.
1. Is there any sequence in which various task / TR is to be released?
2. What steps to be taken care after TR is released?
3. Will the Organization Structure, Assignment etc be transported after releasing of TR?

Hi Ramesh,
Normally you release the transports in the order they are created. If this is the first time anything's transported the sequence shouldn't be a problem. mostly because one object is in one transport, but double checking couldn't hurt.
After your transports are transported refresh the buffers so the changes will take effect. Also check your agent assignments. If you have defined any tasks as general tasks, you have to do this again on the target systems.
If the Organization Structure will be transported depends on your settings. Normally if you use HR the organizational Structure will not be transported because it is maintained on the Productive system.
These are some points I could give, but I don't think this is conclusive and others can maybe give some additions.

Does anybody know if they can be used in SRM 6.0?
And if they can be used for classic and extended classic scenarios?

The PO Response workflow is in SRM side, not in SUS client.
I think SRM50 templates are obsolete because new workflow framework has been implemented in SRM60.

Issues implementing "workflow transports"

hi all!
I am trying to configure a simple workflow for change requests (transport):
In stms, the workflow engine has beend define. For the moment no QA. RFC is fine and my user has been defined as approver for all request(system, projet, number ='*').
When an order is released the pop up appears and i can fill all the required information. Test is ok, i send the request. A message says that everything is fine, waiting for admin approval.
But i don't recieve anything in my stms inbox. However i can see it if i use the search tool.
I have a sap_all, do i need a special profile to do so?

finally the problem was because of an old rfc customizing..
Other question: we have two environemments where we can create transport request. From the controller, transport workflows are working fine.
From the other one, i can only send requests to the controller.
Any idea?

Workflow transport dependencies

Hi ,
I am about the transport my workflow to quality system and I cant afford to miss out on dependencies etc as the testing demo is to start tomorrow.
Could you please advice me on the order of transports given the problems of dependent objects you faced ?
this is the order of transport planned :-

busines object method uses> function module
If FM go first, as it is standalone, I mean it is not calling BO method so wont search for it calling point. dont worry
task uses> busines object method
they can go together
workflow template uses> task
they can go together
so suppose a situation is that workflow template reaches when the task is not there in QA system then does it create error so much so that even after task is imported into QA, the workflow template will still be erroneous ? and will involve retransport of workflow template ?
Dont worry, just transport it nothing wrong will happen, if accidentally some thing goes wrong, you can always re transport it.
If you still think that it will create issue, talk to your Basis Admin he/she will create transport of requests for you and then you dont have to care about sequencing issue.

When the requirement/Info structure is transported, it has to be activeted to take effect. To do this, run program <b>RV80HGEN</b> in the target system which will activate all requirements. This will add the requirement to program RV61BNNN (SAPLV61B => LV61BNNN).
Else, the execution of program RV80HGEN can be included in the transport so that the program is run in the target system. To do this, edit the request in SE10.
Select the request and press the Display Object List button. When in the object list, press Display <--> Change then New Entries. Add <b>R3TR XPRA RV80HGEN</b> to the object list: and Save.
Next, transport the request normally. This would resolve your problem.

Cannot activate "Workflows can use app permissions"

And I create a develop site to share my apps.
First, I try to activate the app permission, but it fail.

Activate workflow on archivelink

I would like to archive curriculum with archivelink. I use the type document :HRIRESUME.
Now with OAWD I see my settings and archive my documents.
I'm trying to activate a workflow on this category but I have some problem.
For first I don't understand If It is necessary execute both settings in spro in particulary:
"Call document type Customizing Wizard" in this step the system ask me the doc Type I put HRIRESUME then a document type template I put the same , I flag Workflow document type then the system proposed me object type PREL method Create Task TS30001117 for create and assigment but If I continue the system gives me a warning :
Method CREATE for object type PREL
suitable, since it is instance-dep. !!!
So I see the B:O PREL but no method with independent istance exists and so I don't know which I put.
I don't understand as the workflow triggers infact we have only task ( TS30001117).
I tried to execute the settings about
Call Workflow Wizard .
I create automatically a workflow without event but really I don't know which
Object type
Method and event insert
Also even in the parameter for method
Somebody Could I helpm me?

You need to use a Criteria workflow and not a basic workflow.
Create a new criteria workflow in the Workflow Admin Applet
Choose the criteria - for the purposes of the test choose a security group, tick the criteria definition checkbox and then specify the criteria.
For example you could setup criteria of Public security group and Content Type matches 'Document'
Add the steps / users to your workflow
Then you need to enable the workflow.
Every time you now check in a 'Document' in the Public security group it will go into this workflow

Duplication of workflow, transport of workflow

Hi All,
In an application we use workflows for certain procedures.
We have workflows that are almost alike to each other. These we have to build one by one nbecause it is impossible to duplicate a workflow. (the function is greyed out).
Second. As we go from one environment to the other we use export repository but helas, the workflow is not exported. Is the only way to transport using archiving and unarchiving?

Ans: Yes, you are right. only archive and unarchive is only way to export repositories over the systems like:
development>quailty>production.

i think we are still on sameissue as Amol give steps, this is not the actual duplicate.
Duplicate always means to have same things in your record,
if you are changing names then how it remains dulicates.
