Hello, i have buy an iPhone 5 from second hand but no way to return back to the first owner because of the geographic distance (i'm living in Democratic Republic of Congo but the phone comes from South Africa).
How can i use the phone? In my country there is no Apple Support.
How can i send it to Apple otherwise?

dhong123, We can answer that question! You can activate the device online via My Verizon: http://bit.ly/xB4iTc . Make sure the iPhone 5 is powered off and dial *228 and press send on the iPhone 4. Wait until activation is complete then you can activate the iPhone 5 on your friend's account.

Yup, I've had the unlimited plan for about 4-5 years, and I do everything I can to keep from losing it, for obvious reasons.
As you advise, I've been using the iphone in airplane mode with wifi activated which works fine when I am in wifi range. But of course when I'm out and about I want to use my data roaming for internet, maps, skype, whatever so I take it out of airplane mode.
The trouble is that I get incoming calls and am charged international rates even when I dont answer. I havent looked lately but I think AT&T charges me for one minute even for unanswered incoming calls.
Any ideas?

Whenever a menu choice is grayed out, that is because you have Restrictions turned on in Settings. Be sure to turn it off.
You are confusing an itunes store account with an icloud account. You two can continue using the same ID for itunes (thus sharing purchased music, apps, etc.), but you really should have separate accounts (different IDs) for icloud, since an account is intended for one user to keep his/her devices in sync.
To create a new icloud account, go to
http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/
Then go to Settings>icloud and scroll to the bottom of the screen and tap Delete Account. (have restrictions turned off) That will disconnect the device from the account but will not delete data in icloud or other devices. Then sign in using the new ID.

Activating new iPhone & downloading software

Anyone else having issues activing new iphone because of iTunes software and Apple password? I keep downloading the new software on computer, but phone saying not loaded. And when I try to connect using Apple log-in & password, Apple is telling me I have been locked out and need to do password reset which I have done twice. I am not getting anywhere with this. It's the new IOS7 Activation Lock that prevent thief restoring/wiping stolen iPhone for reuse.
There's no way to bypass this, you need the owner's Apple ID & password.

You'd only get that message if iOS 7.0 Beta was installed on this phone. There is no fix. Either return the phone for a refund, or give it back to your boyfriend & have him get it fixed.
