Activating an old copy of CS2

I recently bought my daughter an iMac on eBay for schoolwork. For my business I have long owned licensed copied of CS2 and 3. I wanted to install CS2 on her iMac so she could access Photoshop and Illustrator in case she wanted to teach herself some image creation/manipulation. I spent the 30 minutes or whatever installing from the original CS2 disks, but when it came to activation at the end of the process, there was no response from the activation servers.
Does this mean that the installation will expire after the statutory 30 days or will she be able to carry on using these obsolete versions?
Just to be clear, I have one copy of CS3 installed on my work laptop - that's the only installation of the Adobe CS products I've purchased over the years that is active.

OK, the old clockwork self-adjusting personal helpdesk chugged into action, five minutes too late as usual. Turns out that the phone activation number is still online and working. So CS2 is up and running, and another digital artist is in the making... well, I can hope.

Cannot activate my old copy of CS2 after upgrading to Windows 7

I've just updated to Windows 7 and was forced to reinstall my copy of Creative Suite 2 Standard. On trying to use the software I went through the activation routine and it would not activate online, or via the phone.
How do I activate my copy of this software. I still use this and want to keep this as an option before I move on to Creative Cloud.

Activation issues with older software, CS2

since i couldn't find a way to get kai's power tools to work with my copy of CS6, i decided to boot up an older mac running OSX 10.4 to run my copy of CS2. my old mac has been offline so long i needed to reactivate my copy of CS2, but it requires a new activation code.
what i get is this:
"Activation Server Unavailable"
"Activation was unsuccessful because the activation server is not available at this time. Please do one of the following:
-Click the Retry button
-Click the Cancel button...
-Click the Phone Activation button to activate your product over the phone"
"Error code 24:24"
i've already gone and downloaded everything adobe told me to download but that didn't help. all i want is a way to reactivate the suite i already have, not reinstall a whole new suite, at least, not if i can help it...

Apparently you have two catalogs now, one from each installation. If you did importing, tagging and editing during the first installation, that will all be in the first catalog. Find the first catalog - it is a file with the suffix .lrcat and the default place for LR to put it is usually your Pictures folder - and (with LR closed) double-click on it. LR will launch with catalog #1 active.

Any way to obtain replacement copy of CS2?

Migrated to a new PC...trouble is, I cannot find my copy of CS2 to install on new machine. It was actually an upgrade from CS that I had downloaded...somewhere...I called Adobe and was told they cannot supply a replacementI would need to upgrade to CS3 (which I'm not interested in at the moment). I find this hard to believe...have I been informed correctly? Any ideas how to obtain a replacement (not interested in cracks, btw)?
OR can someone tell me the exact filename of the original download so I can refine my search on my old PC?

The US English download of the CS2 upgrade for Windows has the file name "PhSp_CS2_UE_Upg.zip". If you find this on your computer and try to install it, you will need to have your serial number, of course. You will also need to have the earlier version from which you upgraded.

Thanks for that clarification. Being a PC-only guy, I could not recall when the break came for the Mac CPU's, and OS's.
As the first released version of Ps was ported only for the Mac (was that release 1.0, or 1.0.1?), and then not released for the PC, until version 2.5, I knew a little bit of the history, but you just filled in a big blank for me. That's the sort of stuff that I missed, back when the Ps Forum was split by platform - I never read the Mac side.

Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the thingy on the page):

To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

Sounds like you have another iPhoto library someplace - under no conditions would iPhoto revert a library to an older one - you just need to find and open the correct one
Depress and hold the option key, launch iPhoto and use the resulting select library to look st the libraries you have

When I copy and paste on my ipad, an old copy keeps pasting instead of the new paste. How do I get rid of the previous copied information? Doesn"t that function automatically paste the newest copy?

I'm planning on selling my old copy of OS-9.0.4 retail version.
The original CD case is gone- but I still have my other documentation. It did not come with a manual.
What does the buyer of this software need to use it? All I have is a registration number- is that enough?

Just the pressed, silkscreened, "Full Retail" CD, and your assurance that you are not retaining or using any copies of it. \[And most buyers will not ask for that last item.]

Was the SIM card activated on another phone? I assume this is an ATT style trying to use on T-Mobile? Was the SIM installed correctly? Is the carrier (like T-Mobile) operating IOS 6 devices yet?
If the SIM is a valid SIM from say T-Mobile, you may want to contact them for assistance activating the SIM card.
Activation and SIM issues typically point to the carrier. And if this was a CDMA phone say working with verizon, it will NOT work for ATT or T-Mobile as they use different electronics on the 3GS. The SIM slot is for international use only.

Lightroom works a lot differently than Photoshop Elements. But in my opinion it is a lot more efficient for many things. However, there are some things that Lightroom cannot do, such as create panorama images, move objects within an image, and other tasks that require pixel manipulation. So Photoshop Elements can be used as an external editor to help you accomplish the tasks that Lightroom is not designed for. The two programs working together can provide you with a good workflow. How old is your Photoshop Elements?

How can I prepare a greyscale image, so that it will look as good as possible on an old copy machine? I have a job that they want to print on a cheaper to use, copy machine, Is it called xerography?
I'm seeing 4 different shades of grey on the machine's output.
