Activating Batch Material

Hi all,
We have to activate batch management for a lot of materials that have stock.
To avoid creating new materials with batch management activated and transfering stock from old ones, is there any other way to activate this process?
The material type is valuated, so if the decision is to consume all stock for every material, which movement type is most adequated for this case? And to receive again back the stock, which movement type is adequated?
Is there any other possible solution?

1)activate batch management for a lot of materials that have stock.
To Activate Batch Management for lot of material that have stock is not possible first you have to stock out for all the materials for current & previous period.
2)avoid creating new materials with batch management activated and transfering stock from old ones, is there any other way to activate this process?
This you achieve through the help of Basis person by disallowing authorizations to create or change material & stock transfer.
For the existing stock issue it to cost center through 201 movement type & then activate batch management.

I hope, you know necessary settings for my situation. Because on our russian SAP-forum I haven't got answer until now.
Situation:
We have Batch Material Stock on the plant.
And it is necessary to do for that stock Quality Control every 2 hours.
I activete 09 type of control in Material Master.
Create quality specification for material.
Create in QA05 Schedule\ Schedule periodically \ Repeat period - 2 hours.
But it doesn't work - inspection lot does not create.
Who knows what I shall to do?

Everything is ok, but when I want to record result (in qe51n) for inspection point and at the end of the process press the button "Inspection point" -> "Batch carac." -> "Continue" -> error appear "ABAP/4 error during dynamic assign beyond program bounds".
Is it because I haven't edit FM from config 150 Inspection point?
I don't know how to do it. And deside to config all the process before give to edit that FM to our ABAP-consultants.

Remove a batch material

Hi
An old batch material appearing with some quantity in MB52 and MMBE. Transfer posting to unrestricted is unable to done since the QM view is activated and moved to quality stock . How i can make this batch not appearing in MB52 and MMBE.

For one material the expiry date is the problem and the date is 11.05.10
The movement type is 101.
If it is automatically moved to quality there should be movement in MB51 but it is not showing
How i can move from quality to unrestricted?

Sales ret order batch material

Hi all.
In my sales scenario Batch management is active. In sales Invoice for single batch material two line items are generated . one with zero qty and other with actual qty . Now my pblm is that when i am creating sales return order with ref to invoice both the line items are geting copied to sales order. i dont want to copy the line item with zero qty . pl. help is there any solution to copy only req. line item .

In copy control settings, in t.code VTAF, at item level, there is a field copying requirements. Check the routine assigned in that field. In t.code VOFM (menu copying requirements->orders), copy the routine and create a new routine with additional logic, to check for billing document line item quantity not equal to zero. This way, zero quantity field can be avoided from copying.

Prerequisite of activating batch management

Hello there,
I've seen a lot of posts saying PR, PO, Plan order Production order must be clear before activating batch management for a material. But when we test with our system, it is allowed to activate batch management for the material even there is open PO / planned orders. Only not allowed for open SO.
Would like to confirm what is the real answer. PS, currently we have not made any change to confirgration about batch management. Would it make some difference of system behavior?

As advised in note 30656, changing the batch indicator can only be performed when there is no existing stock in present and previous period. The system behaves like this due to possible inconsistencies that would occur if you post goods movements for previous periods when there was no batch management.
You will need to delete any open documents and reverse any material movements on this material. If batches (even zero stock batches!) are still assigned to the material you must delete them and reorganize the tables MCH1, MCHA and MCHB.
At this point the flag could be changed.
Please also consider the following...
1) If you want to change the batch management, it is not enough to check for stock. You must also reorganize all existing batches for the material. You can do this using the TA MM73 and MM74 or SARA. After you have reorganized the batches you should be able to change the batch management. The Object to use in the txn SARA is MM_SPSTOCK.
You must first set the deletion flag for the batch using txn MCH2.
2) If you have defined the batch level in the TA OMCE to 'unique at material level' it is not possible to turn off the batch management flag in one plant. You can can only turn it off for all plants at the same time. That means if you want to turn it off, the system checks all plants for the existence of stock. In other words, the batch management flag will be the same for all plants at any time if you use the batch level 'unique at material level'.

Batch & Non-batch material - 1 mat. doc - 2 EI automatically

Hi,
I am facing an issue while capturing Excise Invoice (EI) at depot.
If non-batch material and batch material are combined into one material document which is generated after post goods issue (PGI) to create EI, two separate Excise Invoices are getting generated automatically.
But while capturing Excise Invoice for both materials at depot, I am NOT able to capture in T-code J1IG by Goods receipt material documents.
How to handle such case? Could you give us some suggestion?

Does the ext directory have the php_oci8.dll? In the original steps the PHP dir is renamed. In the given php.in the extension_dir looks like it has been updated correctly. Since PHP distributes php_oci8.dll by default I reckon there would be a very good chance that the problem was somewhere else. Since this is an old thread I don't think we'll get much value from speculation.

Cancel insp.lot for batch material with serial number?

We have a problem with an inspection lot....
A few months ago we made a goods receipt for batch material... it ended up in Q- stock.
The weeks went by and the material was changed ito a serial number material... that process works fine...
But now we want to scrap the material that is batch-handeled ... the inspection dont want to let go.. it want serial numbers... even if I create serial numbers for this the inspection lot
dont let me register any numbers.. So I cant cancel/delete it... And after all I just want to scrap the batch...
Can someone help me?

if stock of that material with serial numbers exist, then scrap that stock and disable the serial number for the material by deleting the serial number profile in the work scheduling view of the material master.
then try cancelling the inspection lot. After cancelling the inspection lot, activate the serial number for that material again and bring back the scrapped stock into the unrestricted use.
Note: please advice the users not to post any stock for that material till you complete this or else block the posting t.code for all the users.

Shelf Life of the Batch Material

The shelf life is maintained for the batch material during GR process .IF the shelf life expired how to bring the stock under quality inspection for re-checking?

Created batch material and made po, migo,miro now change to non batch.

Next I will change MM02 by removing Check box to normal material
It should work for me.

SSIS Package stuck at validation phase in active batch and running forever.

There is a peculiar situation where an SSIS package has been running forever in active batch (cmd). It is stuck at validation phase . However upon restart it executes normally . The scenario occurs intermittently like once in a week or two. There is also
no blocking or locks on the server.

But it does execute on a manual run from the job. I saw several other threads in a similar fashion , and there are solutions but those look inappropriate and temporary and do not deal with active batch ( dtexec) , looking for a standard and a permanant
solution and whether there are any service packs or patches? Its SSIS 2008 and AB8.

How to Unlock Batch/Material in my code?

I would like to unlock this batch/material in the system at runtime. The problem evolves from another program that gets called and submitted from the origianl program that locks the DB in the first place. Bit, I'd need to do the update in the submitted called program. How do I unlock to get rid of the message below?

such transfers will be made with movements, movement can be created with MIGO transaction or the old transaction MB1B (and several more)
Just goto SE93, enter the transaction code, display the detail and you will find the program name.

Archiving batch material

I want to archive a batch material. I've run the job created by tx SARA, but it appears an error in the log saying that this material have a reservation. I went to the reservation list and it doesn´t exist any reservation for this material ...
any ideas?

Is FS tick is present ie. RESB-KZEAR = X or not check.

Batch Material _Restricted Use

Dear Exports,
While posting the stock (Batch Material) in the MB1C is taking as a restricted stock automatically. whats went wrong in the configuration.
if we post the non batch materials in the MB1C transaction, it works fine and posted as as un restricted use.
Generally materials falls in the unrestricted use.
Please let us know what setting i missied for this.
Early response will be highly appriciated as this needs to resolve ASAP.
