Activating email spellchecker often freezes screen and requires restart
I complete the email and it contains spelling errors.
Hitting the spell check button starts the little circular ball (thing) and the screen freezes.
I have to finally exit the Thunderbird email programme entirely and restart. If I am lucky, the draft file might have captured some of the email, however I then have to manually correct spelling errors or I get a repeat of the above.
Any assistance much appreciated. Thanks
How do I fix this?
Use iOS 6, wait for iOS 7.1.

Tuesday night I was texting a friend and when I went to open her message, my screen went blue and restarted. I just wrote it off as weird and went on about my business. Later that night, I tried to turn on my phone and it would not turn on. I plugged it up, held down the power button, and pressed the home button all numerous times. I looked online and it said to do a "hard reset" by holding down the power and home button at the same time--my phone then came on. Throughout Wednesday, it would give me a blue screen and restart--nothing major just really annoying. I took it to the local Verizon store where I bought the phone from and he said that it was some type of hardware defect and I was still under my year warranty so I could get a new one for free--the free phone won't be here until tomorrow, Saturday. I took it home and it didn't give me any trouble for a couple of hours. The next day it was cooperating and then I left town for a little while and it acted up (blue screen and then restarting) a few times. When I got home, it acted up again and so I restarted the phone and it was working fine. A few minutes later, I tried to check my messages and the phone was off again. No matter what I do, my phone will not come back to life. It had at least 45% battery last time I looked at it. I decided to plug the phone up to my computer and see what it did--my computer recognizes that there is a phone hooked to it and it says that it's in "recovery mode". It also said that if I'm having issues with my phone, that I need to reset the phone via iTunes. I guess the questions that arise are
1. Why is my phone doing this?
2. If I reset my phone, will it go back to working again? I ask that because I don't want Verizon to charge me $300 when they send me the replacement phone and I won't need it (assuming that the phone decides to work once it's been reset).
3. What type of hardware defect is this that is causing this issue, not only with my iPhone 5S but others as well?
4. Shouldn't people be notifying Apple and letting them know that they need to fix this issue?
5. Should I report this issue to Apple even though I didn't buy the phone directly from them, but through Verizon?

Which OS you are using?
Maybe its a driver problem. Have you checked the device manager for yellow exclamation marks?

I'm running an iBook G4. On occasion, a black and white display appears (in multiple languages) and requires restarting by holding the power button.
What you are seeing is a kernel panic.

Email address in People screen and FND user screen
In HR when we create a person record ( Employee / Contingent Worker / Contact etc ) we have a field for email address.
UK HRMS Manager-> People -> Enter and Maintain -> People
Now when we create a user account for the user, in FND user Screen, the email address is auto populated when we type in the name of the person.
System Administrator -> Security -> Users
Now if we change the email address in the People Screen either through PUI or through Employee Self Service, the email address is different in the People screen and in the FND user screen.
1. Am I correct in assuming that the workflow notifications still uses the email address in FND User screen ?
2. Is there a way (a concurrent program or something ) that synchronizes the email address in FND User screen with the one in People screen ?

If the user record is linked to an employee, then this is the one that Wokflow will use. If the user is not linked to an employee, then the user email address will be used instead.
There is no way to re-synchronize this - you would have to relink the user and employee again.

Mail freeze's and then restarts

once i receive a new email and i go to reply to it Mail, freeze's goes to an error screen and relaunch's Mail, but whenever i got to an older email i am able to send the message through. Any ideas?Unrelated to why it is not gathering the email into the Inbox, let me address about POP. For POP access, Gmail assembles a subset of the new messages in the Inbox for presentation to the first email client that signs to download. After that, Gmail remembers that one computer has already accessed the message, and does present it for any second computer and email client to download, even though the messages remain on the server. That is why it can said to not be true POP3, and there are things to get corrupted in the process.
With the change, you must sign onto your Gmail account via your browser, and then click on Settings. Once on that page, click to enable IMAP in under Status in the section for IMAP access. Sorry to not mention this earlier, but I was rushing out the door for some errands.
Did you delete the Outbox.mbox folder, btw?

Gray Screen and Random Restarts
In the middle of working recently I've been getting a gray screen and I can do nothing. On one ocassion it restarted and gave a "Your computer restarted because of a problem..."
It's a 2011 27" i7 iMac running 10.8.2.

Help appreciated.Well, this is back with vengeance.
I've tried removing the Telestream software and the BlackBerry software and I still get a blank screen randomly. The last one happened last night when I tried to download AppCleaner to make sure all files from the above programs had been removed. As soon as I clicked 'download' it went blank and froze.
This is persistent, and the annoying thing is that I can't get it to restart when I want. I tried pulling out the power cord for a while, several PRAM resets, Safe Mode, try to get into recovery disk to check the drive, etc, etc.
Sometimes a few PRAM resets seem to work, other times it will go into the recovery disk, but most of the time it just seems to randomly boot up again after not working for ages. I can't find a pattern and I've tried this many times.
At the moment I can't get it working. I've just removed some Crucial RAM that was installed to see if that helped, but to no avail.
Bugging the life out of me. -
After updating to iOS 7, iPod touch 5th gen randomly partially blue screened and then restarted.
I was using my iPod touch 5th generation to listen to a podcast through the podcast app and searching the ebay app for some stuff and three quarters of the screen turned blue and part of the top of the blue part showed alternating colours of between what was on the screen and blue. Then my iPod restarted (and took a long time at that) and then it was just as if my iPod had restarted. Please help. This is first and only time that this has happened and nothing else was open on my iPod.
Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings -
Airport routinely locks up and requires restart
I have to frequently restart my ae. It would work great, then suddenly hang and I loose access to the internet. I then force a restart of the base station and it works great for some period of time until once again it requires restarting.
My old airport never had this problem.
The problem affects both wired and wireless access.
Very perplexing and frustrating.software update apparently solved this problem

Mac OS X Leopard suddenly freezes with grey screen and must restart
This is the second time in 3 days that a grey screen comes up and the computer freezes. Can anyone figure out what the problem is? Is it an upgrade issue?

System model name: iMac7,1 (Mac-F42386C8)I too have had this problem. It is not a Kernel panic, as far as I can tell. I have two Apple Cinema Displays connected. Both are dark, yet this time my mouse arrow is present. Most other times the screens are just dark. This is the first time I can ssh into my box and look at processes running. Other times the box was dead to the world. This most often happens after: a) lock screen, or b) Screen sharing into the box remotely. When I arrive back at work, the system is on, the screen is black, ssh into it may or may not work. This time I tried to kill all my processes one by one. Nothing released the machine display. Screen sharing into it also yields a black screen. I wish I knew how to restart a process like "WindowServ." Reboot computer via ssh command and display are up and running again.
I ran MemTest extensively from single user mode. No errors. I switched boxes, for I bought two identical systems (one for server, one for workstation.) I switched hard drives and ram. Issues still exists on both machines. -
i have an emac on 10.3.9 and it started having pixel problems, where when you dragged a box around the screen some pixels would freeze. now when you drag a window around the whole emac freezes.
it doesent seem to happen when i boot up in a safe boot.
does anyone know what this is a sign of and how i fix it?

p.The eMac has a CRT, not an LCD, therefore there are no pixels. It sounds like the video driver has been corrupted, and unfortunately the only way to remedy this is by doing an archive and install of the system.
Plus, you haven't said which model you have or how much RAM. It could be a sign of low memory coupled with a system problem. -
Droid x - Dropped Calls, Freezing Screen and Now its auto dialing
Just got my Droidx cell phone and at first loved it,but now getting frustrated. Quick 1-2 minute calls are ok anything longer and it is dropping the calls. Also periodically the screen freezes. Now last night it called a friend 30 times during the night, I hadn't called her so not sure why it picked her number. Any thoughts would be helpful.... I can't have a phone that is going drop calls and randomly call my contacts.

Emails on the lock screen and not receiving emails
For some reason that i set up the Ipad air to show the emails on lock screen too. but it doesn't work now. but it worked before over a month ago. now something went wrong now. I tried to restore it but still the same problem. and now i even didnt receive any incoming emails automatically now.
Did I done something wrong? I haven't change it at all since i brought the ipad. HELP!!!If new emails aren't automatically being fetched then go into Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Fetch New Data - does that have Push set 'on', and Fetch is not set to 'Manually' ?
If it's not automatically checking for new emails then you won't get notifications on the lock screen, but also check that Mail has the correct setting for notifications : go into Settings > Notification Centre > Mail (Mail should show somewhere in the list of apps), tap on it to select it, then tap on an email account - does the account have 'alerts' selected at the top of that screen ? -

I've never had any issues at all with my iPhone 5s. After I ran the IOS 8.02 update, everything seemed fine. Yesterday afternoon (about 8 hours after the update), I went to update my voicemail greeting. So I can open the phone app just fine, use the phone with calls, listen to voicemails, etc., but as soon as I tap the GREETING within the voicemail section, everything in the phone app freezes up. Shutting down and restarting the app does not help. I have to restart the entire iPhone to regain access to the phone app. Interestingly, I can receive a call during this 'freeze' by tapping the ANSWER button during the incoming call. Just can not make outgoing calls, listen to voicemails, etc.
During this freeze, a message occasionally appears stating that the greeting server can not be reached.
Beyond that, no ideas.
Any thoughts?
