Activating Extension - (EA-PLM)

Would you please tell me what are the implications for activating extension EA-PLM.
Which tables are updated and which screens are changed, is it feasible to activate the extension.
Your valuable inputs will help me a lot.

Hi Rashmi,
If u r working in ECC 6.0, then goto IMG settings thro SPRO;
Click "Activate SAP ECC Extensions";
Select "EA-PLM"
Click "Activate Changes"
After the activation, the current status will be changed from "OFF" to "ON"
The activation date and time also will be shown in the activation date field.
Mind You, Once you activate that extemsion, be ready to face the consequences.
I meant working in "WORK CLEARANCE MANAGEMENT"

IMac can't read data through 32' USB Active Extension / Repeater Cable

My iMac doesn't seem to be able to read data through my 32' USB Active Extension / Repeater Cable. The cable is brand new, and it works flawlessly to connect my Microsoft Kinect Sensor to my Xbox 360, so I don't think the cable is the problem. Does anyone know how I might solve this issue?
Here is the cable I am using:

Have you researched allowed USB cable length for computer connections? I just bought an extension and that cable carried the warning that USB lengths greater than 10 ft were not supported by most computer systems for device connection.
Just talked with a computer support person at work who said he had never heard of anyone being able to use a cable that long. Can you get closer to your computer and use a shorter cable?

Activation extension?

Hi. Thanks for the wealth of knowlege on the forums. I've read them for a long time, just now posting for the first time.
It has come time to upgrade me and my boys' phones. But I guess I got myself into a little catch-22 situation... I wanted to make sure the iPhones that I planned to buy for them came in time for Christmas, but I wasn't aware of any deadline for activation (my bad). I also didn't expect the phones to arrive in only 2 days (not complaining, thanks Verizon!). But I just found in the forums that I have to activate them within 14 days. So now I have new presents for under the tree, but they won't be wrapped since I'll have to activate them before christmas, thus deactivating their old phones. I wanted to give them iPhones on Christmas morning....
Has anyone ever heard of a way to get an extension on the activation timeline of a Verizon phone?

Help activating extensions

Hello,
I cannot activate Extensions under the Windows tab on Adobe Premiere Pr CC. I have downloaded the Extensions Manager and have successfully installed the English Speech Module. I have tried restarting the application and also restarting my computer.

Activation of buiness functions for FS-ICM should not have any impact or issues w.r.t to other modules already running in system..
You can go ahead and activate required business functions.

I dont think you can deactivate the enterprise extensions. Check txn. SFW5 and check the logs and see what erros you got ?

Activate extension PLM and SCM

Hi All
For Business package for Maintenance Supervisor ./Technical/Planner ,i need to activate the extension for PLM and SCM.
Can anyone let me know how can i do that?
We are on ERP 6.0 EHP3 with xRPM installed as add-on.
Moreover if anyone of you have configured BP for Maintenance for Supervisor /Planner/Technician ,it has another requirement of BI 7.0 Add-on.
Do i understand correctly that i will have to install BI as add-on on the ERP system??

You can use SFW5, SFW4 and SFW3 here you can activate the PLM extenstions.

Extensions are not available in Photoshop CC 2014

Photoshop CC 2014 installed, but the menu window is not active extensions.
In the preferences to the plug-in is active "load panels extensions"
I also tried deleting the preferences when you start Photoshop, but it does not work

I want to rearrange the extensions in what order I like :)

I am loving FF and the extensions.
However, I want the extensions to be put in the order that I want.
For example, there are some "active" extensions, such as AWESOME SCREEN SHOT, that I want to be displayed.
There are some "passive" extensions, like SELF-DESTRUCTING COOKIES, that I want in the >> drop down menu, as I don't actually interact with them regularly.
Is this something that can be done?

If you are talking about the extensions on your toolbar, you can reorganize them in the customizations page. Either:
* Enter '''about:customizing''' in your address bar, or
* Go to Menu [[Image: New Fx Menu]] > Customize
In the page that appears, you can click and drag extensions to different spots on the toolbar, or keep it under the three bar menu on the right pane. Extensions placed in the main pane will not be displayed for use.

Extention set EA-FIN activated rules out the use of FEBA transaction

Hi all,
When Extension set EA-FIN is activated you can no longer call up the standard Bank Statement Processing (FEBA), instead FEBAN is called.
Does anybody know a way to still call FEBA after EA-FIN is activated or provide some insight into why FEBA does now call FEBAN.

Hi Gudmundur,
After eytension has been switched on, the coding of FEBA executes in a different way. Coding has obviously been prepared to do so since Rel 4.7. It checks for the activated extension and jumps to FEBAN. That's it, you do not even get a message about that ...
There is one message you can switch on, to force FEBA to still be FEBA even though extension has been activated:
Maintain table views for messages: SM30
View: V_T100C
Application Area: NEW_FEBA
Message 001 for FEBA instead of FEBAN
Message 002 for FLB1 instead of FEBAN
FEBA will stay FEBA but issue an information to the user. That's it. If you want to, you can certainly start FEBAN at any time you want to ...

For EH&S to be up and running with standard data, following steps required for configuration of initial actions:
1) Activating SAP ECC Extension EA-PLM (Manual Step)
The purpose of this activity is to activate the required SAP ECC extensions
Note: This is cross-client configuration. Make sure that your client has appropriate settings (transaction scc4).
The required SAP ECC Extension will be activated
2) Adopting Standard Specification Database Structure
The purpose of this activity is to adopt standard specification database structure.
Standard specification database structure will be adopted.
3) Creating Entries for table based Value Assignments
The purpose of this activity is to set up a default setting for the display of such tables.
The latest versions of EH&S use a new way of displaying properties. They use adjustable tables instead of the earlier fixed fields. The control information for this table display has to be set up, too.
EH&S properties can be displayed as tables in the EH&S specification workbench.
4) Generating Standard Phrase Sets(Manual Step)
The purpose of this activity is to generate the phrase sets for the standard value assignment types. Phrase sets control which phrase values can be used in certain EH&S properties.
Note: Execute this step only once, otherwise data will be inconsistant.

Too slow on internal references (InD CS6 [8.0.1] on OSX 10.7.5, 3.4GHz iMac with 16GB memory)

I'm making a 400-page book in the latest version of InDesign. Other books of similar length present no problems, but this particular book has huge numbers of internal references. For example, it says "see page xx for more information," and I'm specifying the xx with an internal page reference, so if the text reflows later the displayed page number remains correct.
That all works fine.
The problem is that there are a LOT of such references, and InDesign response is getting slower and slower. It now takes about 60s to display a reference panel when creating a new one, for example, and about the same length of time to just select a color for a text string.
The Mac has plenty of free memory, according to the activity monitor, so my guess is that reducing the number of active extensions will help.
My questions are:
1. Is there a list anywhere of what each particular extension actually does, so I can tell if I might need it for this job or not?
2. If there is something else I should try in addition to or instead of the above, PLEASE TELL ME!

If the cause is indeed constant live updating of cross-references, you might want to investigate the commercial InDesign Cross-References plug-in from dtptools.com. It offers the option of turning off live updating. It can convert existing InDesign cross-references to its own (and back,) so there's no manual work needed. There's a free trial. It avoids the problem common to many plug-ins: error messages when opening an InDesign document on a machine that doesn't have the plug-in installed. There's a free Cross-References Reader plug-in for those users. Existing cross-references are maintained when text reflows, but the full product is required to create new cross-references or change their formats.

Adobe Flash Player keeps crashing

It just started this today. Any page I go to it says Adobe has crashed. I went through the link provided by Firefox to disable the hardware acceleration but I can't right click on the logo because it crashes. It crashes no matter how many times I hit refresh. I'm not very computer savvy so the things I know to do are pretty limited. Thoughts?

As an aside, did you use Firefox's Refresh feature recently? I'm wondering because your "More System Details" doesn't show any activated extensions; most people pick up an extension or two or lots more over time. If you did a refresh, there would be an Old Firefox Data folder on your desktop.
This is some standard guidance that addresses the most common issues with the Flash Player plugin. I'm sure you've seen some of it before, but just in case:
(1) If you have any recorders/downloaders that interact with Flash media make sure they are as up-to-date as possible, or disable them temporarily.
(2) Disable hardware acceleration in Firefox and in Flash
(A) In Firefox, un-check the box here:
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > General > "Use hardware acceleration when available"
That takes effect the next time you exit and start Firefox up again.
(B) In Flash, right-click the media and choose Settings, then the first mini-tab and uncheck the box to use hardware acceleration. More information in this support article from Adobe: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues

(3) Disable protected mode (Windows Vista and higher)

Reset Sample Calculation option greyed out in ECC6 but ok in 4.6c for QAC3

We are upgrading our 4.6C system to SAP ECC 6.0.
We have activated the EA-PLM enhancement package for QM.
When we go to QAC3 transaction code the option of Reset sample calculation is greyed out in ECC 6.0 system but in 4.6C system the option of Reset sample calculation can be used.
Please let me know if there is any configuration for activating the option : Reset Sample Calculation in QAC3.

You can use Transaction VL71.
Because check the following
Goto TCODE SHDB record the TCODE VL02N, Give the any one of the delivery no and select Output from Deliveries and SAVE.
Now process the the recorded Transaction you will get the message -"LEAVE TO TRANSACTION" is not allowed in batch input.-

IllegalArgumentException in makePersistent()

Hello,
I have been repeatably getting the following exception when trying to make
a newly created object persistent. It happens always on the same object in
the middle of transaction after bunch of other objects were processed OK.
The trouble-making object is a subclass of another object (using
multi-table inheritance)
I can even persist its superclass, but when I try the subclass, I get this
generic runtime exception.
I tried to run this as the only statement in transaction as well as as
part of longer transaction (sameresults). I checked that transaction is
active and PM is not closed.
Kodo 2.4.0, MS SQL Server 2000 via MS JDBC driver. It seems to be
happening in standalone configuration as well as inside of container.

The Alteration is the parent class, the AltProject is a subclass of it.

What this basically does, is whenever the Procejt gets updated by some of
the business processes, a 'Project Alteration' gets created (It is pretty
much following the 'snapshot' pattern to maintain history.) Alteration

Maximum cable lengths for USB / FW / DVI & sVGA?

I've hunted around on the net and can't find any kind of definitive answer regarding maximum cable lengths for USB, Firewire 400/800 and DVI / sVGA monitors. Can anyone shed some light?
I'm about to shift my studio into a new room, and have the oppourtunity to stick my G5 and external drives into a corridor cupboard adjacent to where my studio is - in other words, noise free bliss! But....
...if I map out how far my computer monitors, keyboard and audio interface will be from the cupboard, and take into account the twists and turns involved in neat routing, I'm looking at a distance of about 10 meters. I need to know if any of these devices will be OK with such a long run of cable, and if not, if it's possible to achieve a good result using hubs or repeaters?
So, can anyone help me out with info on:
an Apogee Ensemble (Firewire 400)
an Apple keyboard (USB 2.0)
an LCD flatscreen (DVI)
and another LCD flatscreen (sVGA)

I was just researching the very same thing, though it does not sound like my studio setup will be as sweet as yours. Here are a few things I ran across:
FIREWIRE-
"The maximum cable length specified by the IEEE1394 standard is 4.5 meters. However, more recent tests have shown that certain high quality firewire cables can achieve longer lengths without significantly affecting transmission quality. Several manufacturers sell firewire cables longer than 5 meters (some up to 50 meters)."

But don't go past the 11th post or so, they go off on another subject... the use of hubs & the words "active extension" in that post caught my eye. A quick google search came up with this site:

I'm not making any claims at all about how true these sources are, I just have the same questions and decided to toss what I've been looking at into the discussion. Feel free anyone to jump in and tell me its all wrong - I'd love to hear whats right.
