Activating Family Share for Windows only iTunes Users

Dear community fellows,
a search for "family share windows" shows, that the topic was yet discussed in the 4th quarter of 2014 but not yet solved at all, therefore I would like to start and reactivate it again:
How can I, a Windows only customer and user of the iTunes Store, share my huge collections of bought songs with my family? All ways described in the documenation, especially the one that creates the impression that can be done via iCloud for Windows fail.
My wife uses an iPad Air, my children use iPhones. When my wife invites me to join the family, I receive an invitation email containing a link to view the invitation, but that link does not work and clicking it always results in a message that this link cannot be opend in the browser (tried via Outlook 2013, Firefox, Chorme, Internet Explorer on a laptop using Win 7 32bit and via Firefox and Chrome and Mail on an Android smartphone).
When I try to read this mail via the web interface of my mail provider using Safari on my wife's iPad, I am informed after clicking the invitation link, that I am already a member of the family (which is not the case, the status in iCloud as displayed on the iPad for me is already "Invitation was sent" (I use the German interface, so the original message on an English one might be different from my translation).
So: How can I accept the invitation to join my own family and grant the other members access to my iTunes purchases?

You may move your audio tracks to a public folder on your network and point each iTunes music folder to it.

    I am not certain, but I believe there is a version of Dazzle for the Mac. However, it is not the route I would chose.
    You really need a proper analogue to digital converter, like the ADVC110, to connect to your camera via the usual RCA cables, and to your Mac via firewire.

  • Jabber for windows only allows the logged-in AD user to log into his jabber account only

    Hello gang,  
    I have this strange issue with jabber for windows 10.5.  So if you log into a pc with your microsoft active directory domain account and try to log into jabber with the same user credentials, you can log-in fine. However, if you try to log into another jabber account that is different from the AD account that you are logged into the pc with, you will not be able to log into jabber.  You will just get an error from jabber that says that your credentials are incorrect. I actually deleted the jabber folders in the  local and roming data folders, thinking that maybe it was caching the password but even that did not help.
    Has anyone seen this problem before?

    I've also experienced this.  If you are logged in as a local user on the computer you can switch to any other Jabber user, but if you are logged into your computer with a domain/AD account you cannot login as a different user, only the domain user that is signed into the computer can login to Jabber.  Does anybody know of a workaround or fix?  Is this a setting that can be changed?

    Having issues with Family Share and iCloud?
    I can't seem to share all my music for Family Share - in particular CD's that have been imported into my account don't appear to be available. Additionally, it seems like I continue to lose music loaded to the cloud, sometimes its a whole album and other times portions of whole albums are missing. Is this a "feature" or "fault"?

    The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach.   • Safari for windows and itunes won't connect to the internet

    Hi all,
    I tried to connect to the itunes store this morning and it does't work. I can't tell you the last time I actually used the itunes store. Months ago at least. I'm not getting an error message or anything. The bar gets less than half way accross then just stops.
    Second problem. After finally getting fed up with internet explorer I decided to change my browser to Safari (for windows). It insalled fine and opens ok. But it just won't load any web pages. Again, no error messages or anything. The bar gets part way accross then just stops.
    I have tried all of the tips on the apple website and I've also tried all the tips in the forums that have worked for everyone else but not me.
    I've added Safari and checked that itunes is allowed in my firewall. Even tried turning my firewall off.
    I've checked that I'm not connecting through a proxy server.
    I've tried resetting the host file.
    All of the software on my computer is up to date.
    I've tried flushing the DNS settings.
    I've run diagnostics in itunes. (All ok)
    My internet explorer runs ok so there is no problem with my internet connection.
    I've tried just about everything I can think of and nothing works so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    I'm also having this problem for about 3 months now. Tried contacting twice with Apple Support and after a few tips, they just stopped responding. Tried uninstalling the entire Apple Suite (QuickTime, iTunes, Safari, Bonjour, etc.) and still didn't work. APPLE, PLEASE HELP US HERE!

    Apple, once again I ask you to help us on this one. In the next holliday I'll nuy a tablet and a phone to my mother and I'm considering getting an Android. I have a lot of apps in my library now, but I'll not format my PC just to get iTunes and Safari working. Sorry, but if it doesn't work or we don't receive any response, I'll ditch Apple products for good.

    finally every time I try to active windows 7 it says "the product key
    you entered wont work with this edition of windows 7 you must either run windows 7 setup or enter a windows home basic product key"
    do I picked a wrong version in the installation of windows 7 ? whats the matter ? my windows got three more days to be activated and I dont know what to do, there wasn't any description on
    my college website on how to active
    please help me ASAP !

  • Family Share for a multinational family?

    Apple now has this nice feature called "Family Sharing" so if the wife or husband buys a license, everyone in the family can use it, if allowed by the software company.
    However, it also makes all shared apple stores single language!
    If I want to speak dutch, and yes I do, and the wife English and our son German, Apple says this is forbidden. They only support single-language families and multi-language families are forced by apple to pay for each license over and over again.
    According to apple, a family that speaks more then one language is not family and they don't support that. Apple only allows you to speak 1 single language.
    Is there a way how I can get an official statement from Apple how they stand to Nationalism?

    It isn't a matter of what language you speak or nationalism, it is a matter of the store you use. iTunes/Mac App Store accounts are limited to one store at a time. The store is for one country. To use the store for a specific country you must be a legal resident of that country and provide a payment method from that country that has been approved for use. Switching the store for your account is a big step because it limits your access to content that you previously purchased when your account was associated with a different store. Family Share is also limited to a specific store, the store where the person who has set up the Family Share has their account.
    All of this is because of the content providers who are the owners of the content that Apple is allowed to sell in the iT/MAS. They determine the stores, and so the countries, in which Apple is allowed to sell the content. The license for the content is originally for the country in which the content is sold. There isn't a store where English, Dutch and German is used, so there is no legal way for a family share to be set up and content shared.

    its my Apple ID and it's basically been hijacked on a device I dont own and someone else has been set up as family share organizer in my own Apple ID and I can't seem to do anything about it.

    You really need to get the apple id straightened out before you start, or you will pay the price forever!   You have a couple of options.  I assume your dad is cooperating with this project.  I think you are probably right about using his apple account.
    Make sure you have established the second e mail address and that to works.
    Log onto apple.com, and in the upper right, log into the account.  Once in the accout, click on the area where you can change you data, and add the second email address.    Apple wil verify the adress by send it an e mail, and won't do anything further until you respond to an e mail sent to that address, so watch for it.
    After the address is verified, on your accout page, make that address your primary address contact from apple.  That way if apple sends confirmations for apps and things, they will go to the new address, and your mom won't see them.  Then set the pad up using the same aple Id as your dad.  Remember, you have not changed the apple id or the password, you have only changed the e mail address for contact.   ( you can change it back after the surprise)
    The other suggestion...  I have given a coule of pads to folks, and one of the real fun parts for them and for you is o
    Ending the box, and doing the set up.  It is a great way for them to learn enough to use it.  Press the buttons etc.  pick their own apps.  You can gift her all the apps you want, and she can learn how to download them herself.
    I gave a pad to mom in law, and did pretty much what you are planning, and at the end of the day, having it all set when she openied it made it harder for her to learn, rather than easier.
    But you are doing a god thing, and I am sure she will enjoy the pad.

  • 'Install Updates and Shutdown' option not appearing for Windows 8.1 users

    Windows 8.1 users are reporting, and I have verified, that they are not being prompted to install Windows updates while shutting down, even though the updates are downloaded.  Here are the relevant Windows Update gpo's from a sample Group Policy Result
    for a typical user on one of our Windows 8.1 workstations:
    (Note: The "Specify intranet Microsoft update service location" is the last policy in the updates section, and the value specified there is not relevant to this question.)
    These same settings when applied to Windows XP workstations used to prompt users to install updates at shutdown.  That is, the default shutdown option was "Install Updates and Shutdown".  That was a great workflow because all client workstations
    were shut down every night and the user didn't have to worry about updates installing while they were using the workstation.  All client workstations are now running Windows 8.1 Pro and the only way updates are getting installed is by manually pulling
    up the Windows Update dialog and initiating updates from there.  That is even worse than automatic updates that install during business hours.
    I do notice that
    a notification that updates are available appears in the login screen, but one can not take action upon it from there, and most users don't know how to find the update screen once they sign in; and
    once updating is begun, then the Install Updates and Shutdown option becomes a default - but by that point its rather cosmetic: that is the only option (to configure the partially installed updates during shutdown) and there is nothing
    that could be done to NOT do that at that point. 
    Is anyone having similar issues?  As far as I can tell right now, there is no ability to actually switch the user's default option to
    Install Updates and Shutdown in the same way as in previous Windows editions even though the GPO is identical.

  • Family Share for less minutes

    Is there a solution that meets my needs.  
    User 1 needs data and talk about 50 minutes
    User 2 needs talk for 200 minutes.
    Prepaid would work great for user 1, but no data.
    Prepaid could work for user 2, but would not save any money over the family share 700
    I'm just trying to see if there is a way to save $10 a month, or $240 a contract.
    It would be easy if I was over 65.
