It is costing me 31 cents everytime I switch Imessage on. Charge comes from an international text message used to activate Imessage, is this normal?
If you are using a supported iPhone carrier, they usually do not charge for this. It is an international text to the UK server to activate iMessage and FaceTime. You need to take this up with your carrier. If you are not using a supported carrier, you will just have to deal with it if you want to use iMessage and FaceTime.

When you do an upgrade, sometimes the pad goes back to the isp server for the unread count. These are likely old e mails that you never opened, and are so far down the list that they dont make it to your oad. In any event - go to the mail server via safari or on a computer and use webmail. You can find those emails there and delete them -

I also want to ask about the "Get yahoo! messenger on your mobile phone", it says I will receive the IMs as SMS message so does that mean I won't be charged for data usage and instead it will be counted as a normal txt msg rate?Any text messagge sent to you, via computer, another phone, or text alerts from your bank, for example, are included in your unlimited texting plan (I have the same unlimited text plan--there is no extra charge.)
You can also use the Mobile IM on your phone (it may already be installed), set it up with your Yahoo ID (or AOL, or MSN - all three messenger services work) and then your friends on Yahoo IM will see you as logged in and your IM's will all be counted as text messages. My daughter has friends in the UK and Canada that she communicates with using her Mobile IM.

Thanks for posting. That’s a good question. We don’t have an additional charge for you to be able to obtain text message details. If you simply want to view certain information such as date, time and number, as Grothka mentioned, you can login to My Verizon and view the last 3 months of messaging details.
If you would like to retrieve the content of the text messages, as budone stated, we do require a search warrant. Keep in mind text messages are only kept approximately 3-5 days but never more than 10 days due to system limitations. I’m sure you’ll find this information helpful. Have a great day. -

99.9% of the time, the cause of this issue is the fact the phone was jailbroken/hacked to unlock it for use on networks other than the network the phone was originally locked to. Apple maintains a database of officially unlocked iPhones, and when Apple's servers detect phones such as yours, activation stops & you get the message you got.
So, either get a sim card from the carrier your phone was originally locked to, or get it officially unlocked, if you want to activate it. Because it appears that it was not officially unlocked. -

Yes to receive an iMessage the recipient would need an iOS device (iPhone, iPod, iPad) and an internet connection. This is a messaging serviceprovided by Apple so the recipient does not need to check emails. If the contact does not have internet access at the time the iMessage is sent then a normal SMS through your carrier can be sent instead if you have "Send as SMS" turned on in Settings>Messages.

Copy that voice memo, create a new email and paste it and send it to yourself! You can save it to your computer now and send it to someone else

The contact and you will use iMessage - if it's available. One of you may not be on WiFi or using a cellular carrier that supports iMessage. Presumably neither of you turned off Settings > Messages > iMessage.

"Message Not Sent" Error When sending picture via text message
I have a Droid 2 and I am unable to send a text with a picture. I use the phone in the field and need to send images of land with a text message but so far am unable to do so. I have checked my options settings in My Verizon and do not see anything that may be preventing from doing this function. It is not a signal strength problem.
