Activating Itunes Match

I want to update my IPhone 4 IOS app and receive a message I have to activate ITunes Match on my computer ITunes?  i cannot find the location on the ITunes website?

There's no Microsoft on my side, only Apple.  I ended up solving the issue:

I guess some files were silently corrupted in the sense that they always played fine and iTunes never had a problem with them... until it tried to scan them for matching.  I guess somewhere in that code there's an uncaught exception.  Tsk tsk, Apple... I'd never let that through a code review

  • Activated iTunes Match, now most of my music is missing...

    After I upgraded to IOS6, I activated iTunes Match. Now almost all of music on my iMac is missing. When I click on a song, itunes says it can't find the song and asks if I want to try and locate it. All the songs now have have exclamation marks in a little cloud next to them.

    I upgraded yesterday and all of my music was gone.  I found a backup file of my music on my external hard drive.  I put the files in my itunes media file and they are now showing up on itunes.  However I lost all of my playlists.  If you have a backup file maybe you can restore your music.

    Although I am confused as to why you think you need to cancel iTunes Match. Didn't you originally subscribe on the US store? Or were you signed into the Indian store with a different Apple ID?

  • Activating itunes match kills my network

    activating itunes match consistently brings my 15mb internet connection to a crawl. Packet loss etc.. kill itunes and my overall connection goes back to 15 mb. While iTunes Match is running and doing its thing connection is like 1 or 2mb and packet loss. This is a consistent repeatable problem.

    You haven't said if the first iTunes Match session on your computer has been completed.  If it has not, then it's possible that's contributing to your troubles.
    Even if it is not, the first suggestion I have is to go to the settings on your Music app and toggle the new setting that appears once you have match enabled.  Set it so show only the songs that are on your iPod Touch.  By default it will show you what is in the cloud, plus what is local on the iPod Touch.  So long as that music got on the iPod Touch from the computer you are using for iTunes Match, it should all still be there.
    You may also want to power off the iPod Touch, wait a minute and power it back up.

  • Activated iTunes Match, songs on iPod that were not in computer library deleted

    A few days ago I activated iTunes match on my iPod touch, iPhone 4s, iPad and my computer. I wasn't exactly sure of the full potential of iTunes match and was hoping for an easy way to get all of my music onto my new iPad. I have synced music to my iPod over the years using various people's iTunes libraries and therefore do not have all of the songs that were originally on my iPod, in my iTunes library on my computer. Activating iTunes Match has since physically deleted these songs which were not on both devices from my iPod. The songs appear to be present, as I can see them within playlists and such, but I am unable to play them when selected.
    Is there a way to restore the songs I originally had back onto my iPod or is it a lost cause?

    Unfortunately the music is gone.
    iTunes Match does not scan an iOS device. Any music that is on an iOS device, but not in an iTunes library which means it won't be in the cloud after iTM finishes the scan, match and upload process, is deleted.

    I have temporary relocated to the USA from the UK and I urgently need to change my region settings.  I have spent my remaining iTunes balance and cancel my auto renew to iTunes Match (as asked to do on my account page) but it isn't allowing me to change region.  The message that I have an active iTunes Match account keeps appearing. WHY?!?!?!

    Yes. They wouldn't say it if it wasn't true. System requirements are stated on the iPhone box and Apple website.
    Other alternative is to activate the phone on someone else's newer Mac OS X, but you'll still need iTunes to sync, backup, install etc.

    I've subscribed to Itunes Match and have no problem on my Macbook pro. Nevetheless, i'am not able to activate the service on my Ipad 1 64go with IOS 5.01. I've an error message saying that I am not yet a subscriber to itunes match when i try to move the cursor Itunes Match to the activated position.

    Hi lauren,
    In your iPad's settings, go to the 'Store' tab and sign out. When you sign in, you should be able to turn the iTunes Match switch in music on without trouble.

    J'ai un petit problème, je viens de m'abonner a iTune Match et je ne suis pas capable de l'activer dans mon iPhone (dans réglages, musique). J'ai un mesage me disant : "Vous n'êtes pas inscrit à iTunes Match pour le moment. Utilisez iTunes sur votre ordinateur pour vous inscrire". Pourtant, je n'ai pas eu ce problème avec mon iPad 2 qui a fonctionner tout de suite.

    J'ai excatement le même soucis.
    Je ne parviens pas à utiliser iMessage avec mon numéro de téléphone.
    Seule l'adresse mail de mon compte Apple fonctionne (mais les destinataires réceptionnent mes messages avec l'adresse mail, mais mon numéro ne s'affiche pas. Ce n'est pas pratique)
    Idem pour FaceTime, il ne s'active pas avec mon No de téléphone.
    - J'ai effacé complètement l'iPhone (sans faire de restauration), sans succès
    - Mon opérateur à changé ma carte Sim, sans succès
    - Si je place une autre carte SIM dont les fonctions iMessage et Facetime fonctionnent dans mon téléphone, cela marche aussi !
    Le problème est donc bien lié à ma ligne et mon numéro de téléphone
    (Cette ligne à été portée de Freemobile vers Sosh, ceci explique peut-être mon problème)
    Par contre, mon nouvel opérateur Sosh m'affirme que non, à son niveau il n'y a pas de problème.
    Apple me dit que de son côté, il ne peut rien faire...
    Je commence à m'arracher les cheveux !!!!

    After subscribing to iTunes Match I noticed some of my songs play count had tripled.
    Anybody have the same problem?
    This is a big burden for me as i'm a play count geek.

  • On my iPhone 5 (since activating with iTunes Match), I CAN NOT see all my music. There are artists that I can not see, nor their songs. BUT I can see them on the iPad3 and on iTunes on my PC.

    I can NOT see all my songs on iPhone5 since activating iTunes Match about a week ago!
    ALL songs are available on my iPad3
    ALL songs are available on my Win7 computer iTunes
    I just did:
    Transfer purchases from iPhone and a Music Sync
    NOTHING. Tunes and artists are still NOT SHOWING on my iPhone5\
    BUYING another copy makes it available on te iPhone, but at double the price
    However, some show as PURCHASED, so I can't get another copy on the iPhone
    There are MAJOR PROBLEMS with iTUNES MATCH!
    This problems is ONLY on the iPhone 5

    It might take a while (30 minutes or more) for the initial sync to finish.
    When it finishes, here's how to see all you desktop bookmarks:
    # Press the "Search" button on your Android phone, or tap in the Firefox address bar.
    # Press the "Bookmarks" button (with a star icon).
    # Tap the "Desktop Bookmarks" folder.

  • Weird scrolling since iTunes Match is active?

    I have recently activated iTunes Match on my Mac. It works fine, except one thing: Scrolling through my iTunes library is REALLY weird now. When I use the two-finger swipe gesture to scroll down or up, it first scrolls really fast, then slowly for a long time. When I try to scroll back because it scrolled too far, it takes a while until the scrolling is finished, then it scrolls back (again much to far). If I for example swipe upwards three times in a row, it would scroll up to the start of my library and then bounce against the window corner several times.
    This is so weird and a little hard to explain. Scrolling was all fine with iTunes before I started iTunes Match. Does anybody else experience this?

    Are you on Lion? If so, I don't think this is related to iTunes Match. iTunes 10.5 adopted Lion's 'rubber-band' scrolling, but as you've noticed, Apple have done a really shoddy job: scrolling in iTunes is much less responsive than other apps, and the physics is quite different. There's not much you can do except leave Apple some critical feedback and hope they fix it in an update.
