Activating Metadata Navigation and Filtering feature results in no access to Site

Hi
We have found that when this feature is activated all access to the site is lost and users get "Sorry, this site has not been shared with you"
ULS with taxonomy set to verbose:
System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access is denied. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800700...
DelegateControl: Exception thrown while adding control 'ASP._controltemplates_15_metadatanavtree_ascx': System.Threading.ThreadAbortException:
Thread was being aborted.
Deactivate the feature and access is restored. Note we have just deployed the Dec 14 CU but this does not happen on our Staging site which also has the Dec 14 CU
Any ideas? Obviously users want to enable this feature!

For your issue, maybe the permissions for the Portal Super User and Portal Super Reader were not correctly positioned on the web application policy:
You need to add Portal Super Reader account with Full Read permissions on the web application policy and you could access site pages even when Metadata Navigation Filtering was activated.
You need to addPortal Super User account with Full Control permissions on the web application policy and you could create the new site collection, access site pages even when Metadata Navigation Filtering was activated.

List metadata navigation and columns filters not working.

I'm having an issue with SP 2013 whereby if I apply a filter through metadata navigation subsequent columns filters don't get applied.
Here I've applied a filter through the navigation and it applies the filter successfully to the documents in the library
If I now apply a column filter by content type and select the value Promotion Calendar, I get the following
It appears the filter is selected and I can indeed see the filter applied via the dropdown but it doesn't apply the filter to the list view. I've confirmed this also on another environment using different columns for the metadata navigation.
The environments are patched to Dec 2013 CU.

The scenario is be default that Managed Metadata navigation tree in document libraries does not allow further filtering on other columns.
For a workaround, you can use Key Filters instead.

Document Library Template with Metadata Navigation and Key Filters

When saving a document library as a template, any configured metadata navigation and key filters columns are lost. Has anyone else experienced this issue or know a viable workaround? Can anyone shed some light on why these settings are not saved with
the template?

Metadata Navigation and Library Column Filter Bug

To whom it may concern,
When document library metadata navigation is enabled and a user clicks an item in the metadata navigation part, the library updates to reflect the selected filter. Subsequent filtering actions performed on columns in the library do not filter the list

My reason for re-posting this is 2 fold.
1. The answer to the thread above is not an answer, it is a work around.
2. Presenting the option for a user to continue filtering a view, but having that option do nothing is a bug. The option should be hidden, or it should perform the expect action.
Please either inform me of an expected timeframe for resolution, or point me to an exacting set of steps to take in order to escalate this issue to someone who will take action to fix it.

According to your description, my understanding is that column filtering cannot work after filtering on the managed navigation in SharePoint.
I tested the same scenario per your post in my environment, and I got the same results as you got.
We will help to submit the issue to proper pipeline for you.

How to Install Metadata Navigator and LIght Weight Designer

Hi ,
What is the purpose MetadatNavigator and LWD . ?
Is it mandatory for ODI during Data transfer from source to target.. ?
I have JDK 1.5 installed ......
Any additional hardware specification or requirement needed to Metadata navigator and LWD required.........?
( I saw in the setup document that we require ............J2EE 1.4 compliant application server, such as OC4J 10.1.3 and above. )
Can anyone guide me on this ...........
Data transfer will be a one time activity for my requirement.........

The Metadata Navigator and Lightweight designer are not required to move data.
Installation is as described in the Installation documentation, very simple.
The purpose of the two:
Metadata Navigator provides a web-browser based interface to the contents of the repository and execution logs, making it easy to see all the artifacts defined in your repository, see the data flow and data lineage in a graphical form, to see the execution logs, and to be able to start, and re-start the execution of scenarios, from that web-browser.
The lightweight designer gives a web-browser interface to be able to modify mappings defined in your interfaces.

Metadata navigator and agent

I have a question on Metadata Navigator.We are trying to install Metadata Navigator in a 64 bit server. But our agent is running in a 32 bit server.. So when we run a scenario using Metadata Navigator can we select which agent it has to use. We dont have M.N yet. So it could a basic question.

Navigation and other features suddenly stopped working after I upgraded to FF4.

A day or two after I upgraded from FF 3.6 to FF4, all the ordinary navigation features stopped working. Backspace/alt-<, even the back and forward arrows, Crtl-R to reload a page, and the address field doesn't show the current URL unless I click the identify information icon. All very odd. None of the keyboard shortcuts work.
My bookmark toolbar does not load automatically, although I guess that Vista is the source of that issue.

Doing a downgrade is not anything I have done or feel comfortable with. Is there a clean procedure to accomplish this?

Known Issue: Activating types AppDisplayInfo and AppInfo will result in 0x80080005 (CO_E_SERVER_EXEC_FAILURE).

Activating these types Windows.ApplicationModel.AppDisplayInfo and Windows.ApplicationModel.AppInfo will result in 0x80080005 (CO_E_SERVER_EXEC_FAILURE).

Work around:

Using these types is not supported in this pre-release version of the Windows 10 SDK.

Attempting to report using multiple subqueries and filtering on result set

I have an Oracle view which shows historic logs of changed data, effectively an audit view. The view is over two tables, a header and a detail table. I guess for the purpose of the question that is not too relevant but the structure of the view is. This is the view:

This is OK but..
I only want to include rows where the same picklist / rel_no / line_no / part_no combination exist more than once (because there is always an insert and delete for the analysis I am doing).
AND
where for that combination, the lot_batch_no OR serial_no are different.
Effectively the system does an insert / delete rather than an update, so that is why.

Benefits of using "Managed Metadata Navigation Filter"

Hello,
I was interested in understanding the potential benefits of the usage of Managed Metadata Navigation Filter inside a library or list.
Is there a direct benefit apart from taking advantage of the actual navigation space for filtering, in comparison to just filter this metadata normally through the columns inside a view?
Any contribute or thought is welcome!

Modifying the source for my metadata navigation

I have an Enterprise Wiki site collection that contains 5 sub sites. and i want to enable filtering the main site collection and the 5 subsites using metadata terms. to do so , i did the following:-
1. i have enabled the meta data navigation for the 5 sub sites and the main site.
2. i have enabled tree view for the 5 sub sites and the main site.
3. finally i have added the following web part , which will do the redirect , when clicking on any term inside the metadata tree:-

the problem i am facing is regarding the source for the filtering, for example if the user is inside the main site and he clicks on one of the terms , then only the pages that are within the current site collection and have the selected term, will be displayed,
while i want to include all the sub sites in the filtering . so can anyone advice on this please?
in other way , i am trying to have the same behavior in the defualt search. as currently if i am inside the root site for the site collection and i search for certain word, SharePoint will search the main site and all the sub sites for the word, while
if i am inside certain sub site only pages within that sub site will be searched. while in the metadata navigation and filtering if i am inside the main site and i want to filer based on certain term, then only pages within the main site will be filtered ,
rather than including all the sub sites pages...

Can anyone advice on my question, as i can not find any documentation that talks about changing the content source of the metadata navigation. so that i can specify to include all the sub sites , when filtering pages using the metadata navigation ??? please
any advice ?

Execute Scenario in Metadata Navigator

Hi there,
I just created a scenario of an ODI interface and it works well in Designer. But when I tried to execute it in Metadata Navigator, an error message shows up: "Connection refused: connect" Does anyone know how to solve it?
OC4J is used as application server for metadata navigator and AXIS2 is deployed to OC4J as web services container. Is there any extra steps that I need to go throught to get it work?

I was facing the same issue as you were facing in step 1 (not able to execute a scenario of an Interface from Metadata Navigator).
But i tried running a scenario of an Interface using an agent (not the local agent) and it worked for me.

50L3400U has no ClearScan 120Hz ON and Off feature.

I bought this Toshiba 50L3400U in May 2014 and I'm very picky when it comes down to features functionality, I did a picture calibration, I tweaked all the settings to my likings, updated the tv's firmware.. But I noticed when I watch sports or a fast pace movie, I see refresh rate issues.. so I go back to the menu and turn Cinema Mode On, however I do not find that it makes any difference, whether is On or off.. Also the ClearScan feature is not in the menus.. I want to know how to get 120Hz without using "ClearScan" because is not in the menus, yet its advertised on the box and on the website as an ON and Off feature that anyone have access too from the menus.. I researched the web and read some where that ClearScan turns ON when you turn Cinema Mode ON ... But my gripe is, when I turn Cinema Mode ON it doesnt do anything.. its the same as if was off .. I toggle between ON and Off with no results.. This model needs some software updates to add the ClearScan 120Hz feature to the menu and enable Cinema Mode..

This may sound the same as my previous comment, and I agreed with what you said but I want to know if my Toshiba 50L3400U led tv has this feature as some call it the "Soap Opera effect" .. its when you're watching a movie and is as if you're watching a "Reality TV Show" or a "Soap Opera" it removes that shade of gray effect that movies tend to have and makes it look smoother.. Some people dont like this (Soap Opera effect) feature because they claim that movies look fake.. but somehow I enjoy and like this feature.. I was convinced that by enabling ClearScan (which is nowhere to be found) it would make things smoother ..so clean that by watching a movie I was going to get that Soap Opera effect that so many TV's have these days .. In fact on this website it claims that this TV has ClearScan 120hz on the main menu as a On and Off feature, a separate feature of its own.. a feature that would enable to double the refresh rate thru hardware processing. I also noticed by enabling "Cinema Mode" On ..I dont see that it makes any changes, whether I watch a movie on blu ray, Netflix, HBO, ShowTime etc.. Yet my neighbor is watching a random movie on a random channel on a diff brand tv, I can see the "Soap Opera Effect".. As some claim that "ClearScan 120hz" is within Cinema Mode .. why not make it simple with a software or firmware update, just add a dropbox, by clicking on Cinema Mode a dropbox open, Click ClearScan to enable if you so desire. Because as of now Cinema Mode and " if " ClearScan is under Cinema Mode when enable they're not making any changes nor diff no matter what I use to watch movies on...
