Activating my iPhone please respond

Hey
I got my iPhone today and i did all the stuff in itunes (i am new to AT&T and i am getting a new number) so far i have waited about 7 hours and nothing has happened. I know that it could take much longer but i would like to know how long people have waited for that are in my position. Also when it is activating does it have to be pluged in at all times? And last is the screen supposed to stay the same the whole time it is activating were it says "ACTIVATE iPHONE connect to iTunes"

The first time I called, the system answered and told me they were too busy to even take the call and hung up.
The second time i called, it answered, said the wait was 60 minutes, I accidentally hung up the phone about 10 minutes later.
The THIRD time i called, the system answered, said the wait time was 60 minutes, THREE Minutes later, I guy answers, walks me through a process, PRESTO - 5 minutes later i am activated,
So I asked him how - here's what he said - there is a problem on the AT&T side with account features that conflict with iPhone - my account had improper settings (or at least setting that conflicted with iPhone) on two things he called "1APL' and "MMV2"
The procedure he stepped me through, once he saw what was wrong with my account was to disconnect iPhone from the Mac, power it down, quit iTunes - I got the confirming email almost immediately. He had me put the iPhone Back in the dock and restart iTunes - PRESTO! I was connected. A quick test of the phone function and I was finished.
now to get a few songs and pic's ported over!!!
YEA!!!!!!! Only 27 hours!!!!!!!

The iPhone you have requires the original Apple id and password used to activate when new to unlock it and allow use
If you do not have this information then you will NEVER activate the iPhone
It is an anti theft device to make stolen iPhones useless

Check this post, the dial assist is part of the iOS 7.1, according to page 49 of the iphone_user_guide
Make calls to your contacts and favorites while traveling abroad. (GSM) Go to Settings > Phone and turn on Dial Assist. Dial Assist automatically adds the prefix or country code for calls to the U.S.
This user had a similar problem and solved it by switching off the dial assist feature in Settings/Phone/Dial Assist

Thanks for the question. After reviewing your post, it sounds like the display has a dark screen. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you resolve or isolate the issue.
iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting
Display has no backlight or dark screen
Toggle the ringer switch to see if the unit vibrates. If it does, it could be that iPhone is getting power, but is not displaying any image.
Try turning iPhone off and then on again.
While connected to the iPhone charger, try to reset the iPhone.
If the low-battery screen appears, charge the iPhone.

I have similar message but for me the Verizon guys said they unlocked it and when I actually connected to iTunes using Verizon sim card and then did the restore as new iphone then everything worked well and at the end i saw the message "Congrats, your iphone is now unlocked" and then I did the set up as new iphone for my kid.
Once new apple ID was set up, then I removed the verizon SIM and then inserted prepaid t-mobile sim card and after the phone booted up then I got the same message like above...."not supported"
What do i do now? I think the phone is unlocked right?
Also do I need to insert Verizon SIM card and do restore as NEW and this time do not set up the iphone but change the SIM card and then set up or ?

HHi guys, hope you can help..
i Managed to smash the screen on my iPhone 5 at the weekend, done it properly! most of the glass has come out and the screen is completey black And unresponsive. I'm over due an upgrade with Vodafone at the moment and I'll be getting the Iphone six.
im trying to connect my broken iPhone 5 to my laptop so I can back everything up.. However when I plug the phone in, the computer gives me a warning sign saying 'do you want to allow this computer to access information on your iphone' obviously I press continue and get put to another loading bar saying 'to allow access, please respond on your iPhone'
this is my issue, I cannot see or press the confirmation button on my iPhone.. Is there a way of getting around this?

If you have not previously synced your iPhone with your computer there is no way around it. If there was, anyone who found or stole your phone could get your information off it. Did you perhaps set it up to back up to iCloud?

Help please respond my iphone won't turn on

It's been charging all night last night and all day this morning and you know when it is in the process of turning on and the apple comes up, well every single time after the apple comes up it doesn't turn on normal, the apple just disappears and the entire screen goes black with just a loading circle in the center and it has been doing this for over 12 hours. I've tried to reboot it by holding down the circle button and the top button together and it turns of completely that way and then I turn it back on but it still goes to that black screen with the loading circle. Long story short, my phone won't turn on. Please respond if you know a way to fix this.

Here are steps to get DFU Mode: Open iTunes on computer. Connect iPhone to computer. (some turn off iPhone here, I do not) Hold both home and power buttons for exactly 10 seconds, release power button, keep holding home button until iPhone recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode. Usually takes 10-20 seconds of holding the home button. If the iPhone screen is black (blank) the iPhone is in DFU Mode.

So then do what it says...contact Apple or your wireless carrier.
However your phone is probably locked to another carrier and cannot be used on yours.

Phones bought in Middle Eastern countries will not have FaceTime on them because it has been banned by the Governments there, so if your phone does not have FaceTime on it and you bought it in the Middle East, then there is absolutely nothing that you can do.
Your phone will never have FaceTime on it and you can never get FaceTime on that phone. The only thing that you can do to get FaceTime on your phone is to buy a new phone from a country that allows FaceTime.
