Activating New Device, Screen is frozen or something?

I am activating a new Iphone device. I wasn't sure what I was to do, so I took the SIM card out, and put it back in. Went into settings to reset the new Iphone, so that i could go into my Icloud Backup from my previous device. Now my new device is showing nothing but an apple, and something to illustrate progess of a download or reset, but that progress isnt going anywhere?

Reset your phone:
Press the sleep/wake button & home button at the same time, keep pressing until you see the Apple logo, then release.

I am beyond frustrated - 888-294-6804 phone is absolutely useless. Here I am - bought and activated new device. Want to transfer all set prepay plan (according to My Verizon it already has). Hello eatmorecheese! I can feel your frustration in your post. I'm so sorry you've had issues getting through to a Prepaid representative. In order to reach a Prepaid Department representative, please call 888-294-6804. When prompted, enter your prepaid phone number. Then press 4, 5, 4 and enter the pass code for your account. If you do not know the pass code, enter in four zeros. Then the system will then transfer you to a Prepaid representative.

I turn off/on and get the same frozen screen. My computer does not recognize ipod. Itunes does not recognize ipod so I cannot restore.... Should I take this ipod back and get a new one? Is this normal?

Before you can use the iPod you have to activate it by connecting it to a computer with iTunes. Try the following to get your computer to see the iPod so you can activate the iPod.

Once again, KP is correct, but I just want to add that if you don't see the backup in the drop down menu on the summary page of iTunes when you choose the restore from backup option, then the backup is unfortunately gone. If you backup your computer, the iPad backup should probably be in that computer backup. I use Time Machine with my MacBook Pro and can access backups from months ago.
On a side note, I also archive backups from time to time. If you right click on a backup name in iTunes>Edit>Preferences>Devices (Windows) or iTunes>Preferences>Devices (Mac) you can save that backup or archive it. It will be date and time stamped. I have no idea why I do this to the degree that I do it, but I probably have 12-14 iPad backups archived in iTunes.

My iPod touch was destroyed -- do I need a new screen or new device?

My 4th Generation iPod touch was run over by a car. The screen has been completely destroyed, with the display now only showing white with several black splotches and there is no detectable touch response, but when plugged in by USB and opened in iTunes, the data on the device seems to be intact. My question is: could my iPod be sent to Apple to have the screen repaired, or do I need new device because the damage is irreversible? (I'm not worried about losing my data here, everything is backed up, I'm looking for whatever option has the monetary advantage.)

Looks pretty bad. If you have an Apple Store nearby, you should make an appointment at the store's Genius Bar, and take it there for a hand-on evaluation. Certainly, do not pay anything close to $200 for repair, since you can get a refurb current gen iPod touch (that runs iOS 7) for $219

If your computer doesn't see the phone when you plug it in, you may have to take it to an Apple Store.

Try a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. When the screen goes blank power On again in the normal way.] It is absolutely/appsolutely safe!

Where exactly did you get this phone?
Do you have a SIM in the phone?
There are 2 primary causes for this.
Either you don't have a SIM in the phone, which is REQUIRED to activate it, or the phone was hacked to unlock it.

Reset the iPhone by pressing and holding the sleep/wake button and the home button for 20 seconds (maybe longer) until the Apple logo appears, ignore the red slider. Then turn back on. You won't lose any data doing the reset.
