Activating Numerous Process Chains

Hi,
Does anyone know how I can activate numerous process chains in BI 7.0, do I have to go into a particular variant for each chain and manually mantain each of the variants to activate or can I do many at a time? If so how?

Hi Guys,
I am activating the metachains which inturn activate the process chains. When I have numerous process chains with metachains, is there an easy way to activate the chain without having to go into the process chain/meta chain > go to first event and maintain it to activate? Once this first event is activated the whole process chain is working actively. This problem only occurs as I have transported a lot of process chains from Dev and have to activate them in Prod.

We have included DSO activation in Process Chains. This process takes a long time to execute. We manually cancel the corresponding process in Process Overview and repeat it from chain. The chain runs daily and this issue also occurs on a daily basis.

Figure out in which class does your process fall in:
Class A- High Priority
Class B- Medium Priority
Class C- Least Priority
Background processes
Class A jobs
The number of work processes reserved for job class A is a subset of the number of background processes.
You should only reserve work processes for job class A if it makes sense within your system organization. Work processes reserved for class A jobs are no longer available for job classes B or C.
Set parallel processing for a specific BW process in the (variant) maintenance of the process
Call the function for setting the parallel processes.
You can call the function in the process variant maintenance of a process chain or in the process maintenance. The function call varies for the different BW processes.
For example, in the data transfer process you call the function with Goto--> Background Manager Settings.
The Settings for Parallel Processing dialog box appears
Under Number of Processes, define the maximum number of work processes that should be used to process the BW process.
If you enter 1, the BW process is processed serially.
If you enter a number greater than 1, the BW process is processed in parallel
In the Parallel Processing group frame, make the relevant settings for parallel processing in the background:
Enter a job class for defining the job priority.
The job priority defines how the jobs are distributed among the available background work processes
In the group frame Parallel Processing, you can define whether parallel processing should take place in dialog work processes or in background work processes for the processes ODSACTIVAT, ODSSID and ODSREQUDEL for the DataStore object
Transport:
The entries in tables RSBATCHPARALLEL and RSBATCHSERVER are written on a transport request of the Change and Transport System.

DSO cannot be activated when process chain is launched from BPC

Hello,
we are facing the following issue in our project: we have created a process chain that loads transactional data into a DSO and then a BW cube. From there we will be launching the data into BPC.
The process chain that we have built is working and loading OK when this chain is launched from the RSPC trx. However, when launched via the datapakage "Execute Process Chain in BW" data are loading OK from the source system up to the DSO, but the activation does not take place.
The error that we are getting on the BPC data package is:"An exception with the type CX_SY_DYN_CALL_PARAM_MISSING occurred, but was neither handled locally, nor declared in a RAISING clause
Call of the method IF_RSPC_GET_PARALLELIZATION is SINCHRONOUS of the class CL_RSPC_CHAIN failed; the obligatory parameter I_VARIANT has not been filled."
Has anyone faced this issue before? could you please help on this topic? I have tried several options and all of them are pointing to the parameter I_VARIANT.

Hi Reddy,
I've deleted deltas load from DOS, then I launched and activated a repair full load from ECC, it worked well.
After that I went for delta load so the load was OK but the activation failed.
The message 'Type of data update' was: Repeat of the last delta and the Nº of Transferred and Added was zero.
¿Do you think I could solve the problem if I do a repair full load from ECC then I delete the Delta init and create a new Delta init?
Any another idea?
In conclusion I'm not yet solved the problem so advices are welcome.

Error in ODS activation in process chain

I am getting errors when activating request using process chains.
Error message is Message No. RSM1102.
Please suggest if any notes apply for this.

Hi,
This happens when data is not acceptable to ODS definition. Data need to be corrected in PSA.
Check for Infoobject which has caused this problem in the monitor details tabstrip. Delete request from datatarget after changing QM status to red. Correct data in PSA and update data back to datatarget from PSA.

Error while Activating a process chain

Hi,
I have just modified the existing process chain with the new info package for loading into ODS and then delta update into the Info Cube.
when i am clicking on the option schedule and activate.
Its giving error as :
"InfoPackage ZPAK_49RJW545FSO2MB3NF1MIZ9NJ9 is
generated; NOT able to be used as loading variant"
This is a IP, which is used for delta update from ODS to cube.
I have checked the IP, its fine like i can do the delta through this pacakge manually.
Please help, points will be rewarded....

Go and check whether the Info Package exist ,
You can check in Rsa1 and give IP name and find it.
If your IP is not there please create it,
If tehre please check the all parameter associated with it.

Master data activation by process chain

hello all,
As I have seen that we have to right mouse click and activate master data after loading so that we can report on it. Thats a essentila step right?
How can we achieve that in process chain, when we run infopackage to load master data do we add some other variant to activate that data ?

yes we can acheive this using process chains, create a variant on this , in the process chains screen on the left side, u can see "ATTRIBUTE CHANGE RUN" in "OTHER BW PROCESS"

Error while activating Process Chains

Hi all,
while activating the Process Chains, i am getting the following error "Job BI_PROCESS_PSAPROCESS could not be scheduled. Termination with returncode 8"
when i double click on the error msg, i got the following help msg: "

Diagnosis
Program RSPROCESS is to be scheduled as job BI_PROCESS_PSAPROCESS under user ALEREMOTE.
Can any one please show some way to solve this problem? please do this favor, i have been suffering with error for a long time.

Hi,
Just analyze the error message that you get while activating the PC, don't give any server name.If you are trying to run process chain using Flat file, it won't work,
and you should have source system R/3 or you have own datasources in BW system itself at that toime you can use PC to extract data. If your source system is Flat ile, it won't work. other wise you should place your flat file in application server, using AL11 tcode.

You cannot schedule or perform any batch jobs with the BW or source system background user.
The error RSPC 065 occurs in the process chains:"Job could not be scheduled, termination with return code 8"

Reason and Prerequisites
The user type is
"CPIC" up to 4.6B
"Communication" as of 4.6C
This user type may not execute or start any batch jobs, irrespective of the user authorizations.
Solution
Set the type of background user to
"Background" up to 4.6B
"System" as of 4.6C
This user type corresponds to the "Communication" type and may also perform background functions.
Through the Customizing, the BW user is automatically created by mistake as a communication user.Depending on your BW system release, you can solve this problem as follows:
BW 2.0B
 Import Support Package 24 for 2.0B (BW2.0B patch24 or SAPKW20B24) into your BW system. The Support Package is available once note 456551 with the short text "SAPBWNews BW 2.0B Support Package 24", which describes this Support Package in more detail, has been released for customers.
BW 2.1C
 Import Support Package 16 for 2.1C (BW2.1C patch16 or SAPKW21C16) into your BW system. The Support Package is available once note 456566 with the short text "SAPBWNews BW 2.1C Support Package 16" has been released for customers.
BW 3.0A

Error in process chain activation

I am learning on 3.0b,(on my pc) while using process chains, at the time of activating the process chain it is giving the following error "JOB BI_PROCESS_PSAPROCESS COULD NOT BE SCHEDULED, TERMINATION WITH RETURN CODE 8". Why am getting this error, is there anything wrong with my system or software or there any mistake in activating process chain" (what ever may be the process type i use, i am getting this error), plz help me.

Hi Ganesh,
The possible reason for that error is the User type of the background user. Please check out OSS note 511475 which talks about this problem and possible solution. I have used this earlier.

BI Content 7.57 SP4 Activating Process Chain

Hi,
I am trying to activate a process chain from BI content . My source system is ERP 6.0. While collecting objects for activating this Process Chain BW gives an errors. It says some of DTP and Transformations are missing. I have put two of the errors are at below.
When i search these missing objects on the BI content these objects are not exist. Also on the BW system they are not exist. I could not find any solution for this problem.
Can you please show me a way for solving this. I am stuck on this.

BI_CONT 703 0000 - Business Intelligence Content.
Is my BI_CONT add-on installed successfully?
And also i am not able to see BI_CONT in imported packages list.

Incorrect data after activating the request through Process chain.

Dear SDN chaps.
Today morning. I encountered a strange issue in DSO..
I have DSO which is updating from the AL11(application server) flat file.
While i am loading it to PSA there were no issues and after loading it to the DSO there is no issue and its passing through the routine and the data is populating properly in NEW data Table .But after successful activation of the request through process i am getting the wrong records in active data table.
Then i deleted the request and reran it manually i mean triggered the DTP and ran the manual activation surprisingly accurate records are coming through manual process..
I am just wondering why it is not working through process chain and why it is showing incorrect records through process chain execution and how it is showing accurate records through manual uploading process..'
Could some one please help to come out from this..By the way mine is SAP BI 7 SP20 &SP05 for BW 7.01

We are doing PSA deletion and then we are uploading the data to PSA as well as DSO.
Now the issue is not in the part of loading we are facing the issue in Actiation of request if i am executing the activation through process chain it is sucess but the values are incorrect. If i am doing the manual activation it sucess with correct data.
Even i tried with a new chain but still i am facing the issue.
Surprise thing is in new data table the data is perfect in both the ways like manual upate and Process chain update only during activation i am getting incorrect record in the active data table..
Appreciate your help on this....

Statistics technical content activation issue with MD process chain in BI7

Hi,
Let me give you history of the issue first.
I had to activate the Statistics in BI7. I followed the SAP Note 965386 and activated the Technical Content.
Faced activation issues in MD process chain, Content Master Data-0TCT_MD_C_FULL_P01. It dint get activated, Followed the SAP note 1065919, which asked me to remove the below process from RSPC and activate it.
Load data- Process Variant Attribute and
Load data- Process Variant Text.
I did the same and it got activated after removing them.
Issue is. Later knew that manually activating the Process chain from Content would have activated those Infopackages aswell.
Now how should I get those processes into the chain and activate? Based on your suggestions, I can let you know what all I have been trying to fix it?

I have this issue solved. I replicated the data sources, activated those infoPackages manually and then added those variants into the process chain manually. So my MD chain now has all the necessary process.
Now i need to schedule them and see if it runs with out any errors. I will keep this thread open till i run it to take your help if i get any errors while running them.

Problem in Activating Hierarchy Attribute change run through process chain.

I have the problem in Hierarchy change run processw running through process chain..and also process chain completes successfully without any error..
Even hierarchy change run completes successfully the hierarchy objects are not activating,
so daily when i have to activate hierarchy objects manually..
and what i did was in one attributechange run process i have included 10 hierarchy object is it correct or else i have to separatly create 10 attribute change hierachy proceess in the process chain.. pls through some lights on this issue

Yes.. i already include the save hierarchies process in process chain...
my main problem is hierarchy infobject are not activating using process chain and also even process chain is not giving error message.. and in which log table the hierarchy objects are maintained (such as run time, date , status etc..).
IS there is any other settings to be made in process chain..

BI Admin Cockpit - Problem in activating Process Chains

Hello,
We're trying to activate the content for BI Admin Cockpit.
While activating the process chains, we get a "red" message as
mentioned below.
"Object '0PAK_5JTN7F5HTP45CGZ04PQTMCNTI' (ISIP) of type 'InfoPackage'
is not available in version 'D'
Message no. RSO252"
OSS message 966131 suggests that "The InfoPackages mentioned are shadow
InfoPackages and the message is unnecessary because there should not
have been a search for the package at all." and we should apply the
correction (as part of SPS10) for this purpose.
We are currently on SP11 but still having the same issue and hence not
able to activate the process chains for BI Admin Cockpit.

Hi Ashish,
We had the same issue. You must have one of following:-
BI_CONT 702, Support pack 7
or
BI_CONT 703, Support Pack 4
Once you get either of above, you will not have that problem. But you might have some problem in process chains because of roll up of aggregate in delta PC. Just ignore that and you will be OK...( This problem is because there is no agg. defined and PC is trying to do roll up..which make no sense and hence there is error)

Process Chains & Misc

Dear experts - I am a novice to bw and if someone could share their ideas regarding the following, I'd be very thankful.
I have activated a process chain and tried to execute it. This is a onetime execution and is not dependent on any event. When I tried to execute a process chain for the first time, I was prompted for a date and time for scheduling for which I chose "now" and had given the date and a future time (which was a few minutes after). But the error msg said this was a past date and time. This message kept on appearing for whatever time I had given.
1. Is there some other date that I have to change elsewhere ?
And the confusing part is after trying for a few times, the chain started executing suddenly (Sounds funny, but really I don't know how it started).
and I am confused..
Any stepwise procedures that you could help me with ?
Is there some other scheduling that I need to do other than mentioning the date and time even for onetime run ?
And if someone could share any information on the business content reports/data models/data targets available for campaign analysis based on external lists..
that's really helpful.
When I transfer the data from crm to bw, what datatargets could I make use of for surveys' information ?

Hi,
You are setting the time in the correct dialog box but i believe you are placing the wrong time. Make sure you are inputting a time in the server's time zone. The server's time and timezone maybe different form yours. To check your time zone and the server's time zone, go to transaction su3 and proceed to the "Defaults" tab and look at Personal Time Zone of the user and the Server. When you know your time zone and the server's then you can input the correct time in the process chain scheduling.
Please advise if this has solved your problem.

Error in transporting process chain

i added two DTP's in the process chain and transported. The transport ended with errors.
The following is the error msg:
Results of check for process AND EVEN_4CEJM320EVCIY0L5L62W61JVB in chain PC_BI_TD_POSDM_CAST:
Process variant AND EVEN_4CEJM320EVCIY0L5L62W61JVB does not exist in version A

I saved and activated the process chain but still transport to QA ending with errors.
When i saved the process chain in DEV, i am getting the msg:

What does that mean?

If I got your question properly, Your AND Event is not Collected at the time of Transport.
Try to Re Export the Process chain with all necessary grouped objects.
Version 'M' of chain PC_BI_TD_POSDM_CAST was saved without checking

Try to Check-- Save and then Activate and Then Transport .
Please follow the Sequence for the transport, You may recheck the flow again
