Activating on a second computer

I've transferred my Elements 7 from a desktop to a new laptop, but I'm told it's activated on two other computers already.   This is not so - how can I get this sorted out?

Please contact customer service they will increase the activation count.
You should always deactivate your software before reinstalling when you are unable to do so..this error message comes...http://helpx.adobe.com/contact/

    A week and a half ago I bought a PS/LR subscription for my iMac running OSX Mountain Lion. A coule of days ago I decided to partition my drive and install Mavericks onto it leaving the original system untouched. I successfully installed PS on the Mavericks partition as my second allowed computer. That's fine. But when I went to install the second iteration of LR onto the new partition it recognized the originally installed version. Apparently LR cam be run by a system drive other than the one it's installed on. By contrast, I was unable to use PS unless I installed that second version on the Mavericks partition.
    However, when I try to launch LR it asks for my activation code otherwise it won't run. But when I go to the CC desktop app, it claims that LR is installed and available. I don't have any record of the activtion code that I can find. How do I get ahold of that thing?

  • CS5 on-line activation fails on second computer.

    I have been running CS5 for years on my old computer.  Just bought a new laptop.  Still have all CS5 documentation including serial number.  My copy of CS5 is registered with Adobe.  When I loaded CS5 on the new computer and tried to activate it, the activation failed repeatedly.  My purchase agreement states that I can load CS5 on two computers.  Tried to use the phone number for phone activations, but Adobe apparently no longer allows phone activations.  While I have been dealing with this matter, Adobe has somehow apparently downloaded A NEWER (CC?) version of the CS programs onto my new computer.  The icons have all changed, and when I attempt to activate now, the prompt box displays a serial number that is completely different from my CS5 serial number.  I need to talk to a real, live knowledgeable support person from Adobe. 

    Hi there, I just checked your serial number and can confirm this is not an issue with your activation count. You still have activations remaining.
    I do, however, think that there is some confusion on your computer with which version is trying to get activated. To fix this, I recommend running the Cleaner tool: Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6 to remove the existing Adobe products and then re-download Design Premium for Windows here: Download CS5 products
    It's just like starting from scratch to prevent version confusion...please let me know how this goes!

    My second computer (laptop) changes depending on where I'm going. With CC I understand that I can activate a third computer and then deactivate one of the previous computers. If I were to need to change once a month or once every 2 months, is it possible to keep installations on the 3 computers and switch back and forth. In the end there were always only be 2 computers active and only 1 being used.

    Yes, I do this regularly. Works fine.
    Could be installed on more than 3 computers provided it's only ever activated (signed in) on 2 simultaneously at any one time.

    Your single license allows you to have two active installations, meaning you can have it installed and enabled on two machines.  You can have the software installed on as many machines as you like, but only two of them can be in an activated state at a given time.
    As far as using the two machines at the same time goes, the jury is currently out on that - I had the question in for clarification but did not get a response yet.  They recently rewrote the license agreement and the portion that explicitly stated you cannot use the two at the same time was either removed or relocated somewhere else that I have yet to find.
    If you mean that you want to have another machine licensed for someone else to use then you need to buy a new license for that other person.

    The CC has been activated twice, April 2013, July 2014, it needs to deactivated from one of the computer to install it on the second computer, it might be that accidentally, it has been activated twice.

    In case the previous computer is not available to De-activate then you can choose to " De activate all" while installing & activating it now, it deactivate the previous one & activate this with one activation count remaining.

    When you say you were able to install on OS X 10.6.8 on your first computer, how long ago did you do that? The reason I ask is that Photoshop CC supports 10.6.8, but Photoshop CC 2014 (released this month) does not. That might be why the current version won't install. What you could do instead on your second machine is use the Previous Versions feature of the Creative Cloud app to install one of the older versions of Photoshop that does support 10.6.8, either Photoshop CS6 or Photoshop CC.
    Also, regarding CC activation: You don't have to manually deactivate installations of software you installed with the Creative Cloud desktop application. As you install the software on more machines, it will let you use the two most recent installations you signed into, while automatically signing you out of all older installations.

    If you have more than one email, are you sure you are using the correct Adobe ID?
