Activating Permission Changes Not enabled.

Hi,
When we port the track from one DTR server to other, it created few issues in Some DCs of the track and hence we are trying to manually correct the files in DTR repository itself. For doing this i have 2 question and have given below.
1. Whether if i add or change the Files already existing in DTR manually, by changing in File system(without using NWDS), will it reflect in NWDS when i reimpoort in NWDS?
2. For manually modifying the permission set for the DC folder, i have to set the permission. for this, I went to DTR perspective and in the folder where write access is required. I added a ACL principle which will give write access to Group NWDI.Administrators. But after adding the principle, I couldn't Activate the changes as the Button "activate all changes" is disabled. if i close NWDS, the change i did just disappears. Please Let me know on how to enable this "Activate" option or what to do for activate the permissions set.
Please help me in this as this has been bugging us for long time now.

Thanks for the info. The problem is , Even after trying several option, some how Via NWDS we were not able to correct the DC problem. Days and Days were spent on it and SAP OSS finally said that the source track from where the Track is ported to new server is corrupted. we cannot do any thing to the source dtr even if it is corrupted as any mistake might create some problem and might even loose soem data. Since the Standard way of Transport is not possible, we are looking for an alternative options such as Manual Tranportation.
Can you you please explain me why there could be a problem if we Modify in file system directly. All we
expect is a server restart or NWDS restart if not reflecting in NWDS.

Enhancement Section Activated but changes not taking place

Hello Friends,
I have been getting a dump error for FM GN_DELIVERY_CREATE_FOR_DIALOG which says that
"spe_version" does not exist in table "LIPS".
I found a enhancement option that commented out the perform that lead to the subroutine which has the error code.
I have activated business function LOG_LE_INTEGRATION via SFW5 which activates among others switch LE_SFWS_SC3.
I can see the global status of the switch as ON.
This switch is associated with enhancement spot ES_SAPLV50S which has implemented an enhancement section in inlcude LV50LF14 lines 191 -194
However, despite activation the changes are not taking place and i am still getting a dump error.
I am also not able to set a break-point in the FM because the program cannot be generated
My question is: Is successful program generation a pre-requiste for enhancement source plug-ins to be effective?
Any pointers would be highly appreciated.

Hi Minhajuddin ,
With "enhancement spot" we have come across similar short dumps and inactivation of spots even when steps are taken as per procedure.Please check if any notes are available for the same ,since most of the time it fixed the problem.

Hi All,
I have Lync standard 2013 server on-premise and Exchange Office 365. I have enabled my users for Voice.
When I add a user to a response group I get the warning that the user is not enterprise voice enabled. This is strange as the user is enterprise enabled and can make and receive calls.
I also have Event ID 31138 on my Front End server.
"during the active directory update not -uc enabled agents were found
The following agents are specified as agents but are not UC enabled:
sip:[email protected]"
Any thoughts?

Did you change the default SIP Domain before?
If yes. You may need to remove agent from database. As the agents of a Response Group are added to the rgsconfigdatabase, within the database you will find a table called dbo.Agents. When open it you will see an overview of theagents which are member
of the groups. You can do the following steps to remove an agent from this table:
Right click on the dbo.Agents table and select the option Edit Top 200 rows
Search for the user and remove the specific record.

Try using Firefox. Flash usually works on Firefox when it won't on Safari. I noticed that the Safari does not show the same version as Firefox does. Iwonder if that could be the problem. Safari on the left shows 10.1, Firefox show 10.3

Had the same problem. I uninstalled icloud, restarted my pc and reinstalled icloud and it's working fine. Hope this helps.

Factory Unlocked on T-Mobile: iMessage & Facetime Both Verified As Activated But Do Not Work

Hardware: Iphone 4
OS: 5.1.1
Factory Unlocked
Network: T-Mobile (USA).
Hi all.
Like many I am having a problem getting iMessage & Facetime to work, however, the unique problem I seem to be having is that while both iMessage & Facetime report back that they are activated, neither work.
Anything attempted to be sent through iMessage fails to send. Standard SMS/MMS is only available. Iphone users attempting to send me iMessages are only able to transmit via SMS/MMS as well.
Facetime will not connect to anyone. Every attempt is met with an immediate "Call Failed." prompt on both my end and the Sender's end.
I am completely miffed as up until this on my other iPhone, a 3GS running 5.1.1 also on T-Mobile, there were no problems with iMessage or Facetime (unofficial tweak)
Thus far I have done the following which has yileded no success:
- Delink my Apple ID from iMessage & Facetime > Turn off Services > Turn off Phone > Restart > Reactive Services > Relink Apple ID > Reactivate and Verify iMessage & Facetime.
- Hard Reset (Power + Home)
- Change DNS to 8.8.8.8
- Remove my Apple ID > Turn off Phone > Restart > Reactivate & Verify iMessage and Facetime w/o linking Apple ID (Phone no. only).
I'm at a loss at this point. Does anyone have any other ideas? It cannot be a factor of Tmobile as Tmobile plays no factor in iMessage & Facetime ability, they are both network agnostic features as I understand. Additionally, both these features work on my 3GS.

At another users suggestion I:
Disabled both iMes & FT, turned off wifi, rebooted, and then enable both without wifi.
Waited 15 minutes to activate
No dice. They both required me to enter my Apple ID, gave the me the warning about charges for text message to activate, waited 10 minutes and again both reported as activated.
Tried sending an Imessage and it failed (both with Wifi off and then Wifi on). I have not tried Facetime but I expect more of the same.
As a final measure, I reset the phone, restored and re-activated which did not solve the problems.
Immensly frustrated at this point. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Camera Raw Editing is not enabled strikes again

Hello everyone, I've always open raw files from bridge in ACR, since last evening, suddenly, while I am trying to open an image in camera raw I keep getting an error message that reads " Camera Raw editing is not enabled. Camera Raw editing required that a qualifying product has been launched at least once to enable this feature." At last I cannot open files in ACR from Bridge at all. After a search in the net I've seen that it seems to be a rather common trouble but none of the solutions I've found (I've read of all in this forum) works for me. Did someone found a final solution to it? Im going crazy traying to understand what is that qualifying product in the message.

FWIW, this has happened to me twice as a result of a nightmare computer upgrade. I had to change my motherboard and CPU several times and twice, these different combinations caused Adobe activation to become confused. I got an error about number of activations exceeded and also this error about Camera Raw editing is not enabled. How I solved it:
a) Called Adobe Support who were able to reset the number of activations, activated Creative Suite.
b) Exit all open Adobe applications and restart them, it worked.
This is a minor varation on the previous user's comment, where deactivation/activation worked. I believe that Adobe Support did the deactivation.
It would be nice if Adobe activation were smarter; I've only ever had one computer, never two and certainly never three.

Active directory change question regarding affects on exchange 2013

I have some universal security groups that are meant to be distribution groups in a 2008 R2 active directory forest. These groups are being utilized by exchange 2013, I plan on turning these groups into global distribution groups in active
directory (all changes will be made in active directory only, not in exchange).
Question is; What will happen to the mail boxes using this group? Will it break the mailbox? How will users be affected?
I plan on doing testing of my own but if someone else has already done this and has ran into issues this will help me out greatly.

Mail enabled security groups can be used for two purposes.
1.Used to distribute emails to its members.
2.Unlike mail enabled Distribution groups , Mail enabled security groups will have SID value , so it can be mapped on any resources (for eg : share folder ) to get the access permissions to it members.
In your case ,You would like to change the scopes for the mail enabled security groups ,Before changing the group scopes just have a look in to the following link which states clearly about the group scopes and its usage.

Why is the 'Choose icon...' button in the Options tab of the field property dialog box not enabled?

I am using Adobe Acrobat Professional XI running on Windows 8.
This “feature” has been bugging me for some time now. I remember it happening when I used Acrobat 9 Professional (Windows XP) and it is still happening in Acrobat XI Professional. I think I figured out a situation when I can reproduce this “feature” conistently and I hope someone fixes this.
Try the following and see what happens:
1. Acrobat Professional is not open.
2. Launch Word and start editing a document (or some other authoring tool that can generete PDF document).
3. After editing the document, generate a PDF version of the document.
4. Launch Acrobat Professional and edit the PDF document generated in 3.
5. Add a button.
6. View the button's properties.
7. Change the Fill Color property in the Appearance tab to none.
8. Change the Layout in the Options tab to Icon only.
Now here is what bugs be. Shouldn’t the 'Choose Icon ...' button be enabled? It is not enabled after step 8. It is possible that 'Choose Icon ...' button is enabled for some of you. I this case, it would be nice if at least one of you who experience the same bug say so in this thread so that Adobe doesn't think I am sending them on a wild goose chase.
I can enable it by selecting a different tab and then returning to the Options tab. A similar thing happens when reverting back from 'Icon only' to 'Label only' but I am not sure how to reconstruct a scenario for this one.

You're right, it has been that way for a long time. I've never bothered reporting it as a bug since it's simple enough to deal with, but reporting it would be a reasonable thing to do.

BitLocker not Enabled on HP ElitePad 1000 G2

I have an HP ElitePad 1000 G2 that I am using MDT to apply our 8.1 x64 Update image. This task sequence works fine on all other systems on which it has run. On the ElitePad, when the task sequence completes, BitLocker is not enabled.
Running manage-bde-status returns:

If I click Turn on BitLocker in the control panel applet or run the following commands:
manage-bde -protectors -add c: -recoverypassword
manage-bde -on c: -recoverypassword
The recovery key protector is created and uploaded to AD and BitLocker shows as enabled.
Any ideas to why this is happening?

Glad you seem to have sorted things out.
The warning about the warranty is light hearted, I think at one stage it warned "here be dragons" but also intended to make us think as it warns that making changes may produce problems.

Why firefox 3.6 downloads all of the files again after restartarting the browser from a website if the "clear history when Firefox closed" is not Enabled?

We have a corporate website, we officially support FF3, FF4, IE8 and IE9. Our web site is quite big, so we really need browser caching, first time page load is around 15 seconds. With files in the cache getting new page is less than a second.
Everything works perfect except with FF3. With FF4, IE8, IE9 if we are on the website, clicking everywhere is fast, the page is in the cache. If we restart the browser, it is still fast, it loads files from the cache.
But with FF3 we have a problem. Every time we restart the browser, it is loading the files again from the server, instead of using the local cache (checked with Firebug). I can reproduce the problem anytime, it is the same with every FF3 instances. I double checked, the "clear history when Firefox closed" option is not enabled.
Could you advise please how to use the local cache either after browser restart?

Just read that the default memory storage on FF is set to 5 mbs. You can up that by clicking on tools, advanced and overriding the default and set it to 50 mbs (if you use lots of tabs) or 10 mbs (if you use just a few).
I open a blank tab and clear the cache periodically, while I am working. I can have several tabs open and watch videos on Youtube, by doing this. Have you cleared your cache?
Since I have an older computer, I've also used CCleaner for years. I use it often, but always before signing off. You can get it free...search for CCleaner, download from Pirifoam free. I didn't change any of the settings and it clears crap left behind from uninstalling programs, clears all browsers at once of: cookies, history, passwords, etc. I love it!
I had freezing, before using the "open blank tab, clear the cache" thing. Now I have no problems. Plus, as I said...you can change the default memory usage for FF and that should help too.

Remote Desktop Connection - cannot proceed because authentication is not enabled

I try to connect via RDP from a Windows Server 2008 R2 to another 2008 R2 Server.
I always get the error message.
The connection cannot proceed because authentication is not enabled and the remote computer requires than authentication be enabled to connect.
On the target machine the Remote Settings are set to:
Allow connections from computers running any version of Remote Desktop.
Firewall is disabled on both servers.
Therefor I do not understand why I get an error message, that authentication is required.
The target box is a nearly fresh syspreped machine with all current Hotfixes installed.
I already found a lot of people having that problem by using XP (old RDP client), but no one seems to have this problem when connecting from 2008 R2 to 2008 R2.

First I would like to confirm if you have deployed RDS (Remote Desktop Services) and you got the error, if so, please check this option
TS Configuration, >> RDP-Tcp Properties >> change the Security Layer to "Negotiate"
Then Recycle the TS Gateway service.

If this issue has nothing to do with RDS, and I suppose you used the cmd "mstsc" to remote access. This issue may also occur because of the version of mstsc, please make sure it has been upgraded to the new version.
In addition, Did you have another newer server available like Server 2012? So we can test and try to use Server 2012 to remote access Server 2008 R2, and check if the issue persists.

Set-tmp-permission is not running in my Solaris 10 Netra CP3060 blade serve

Hi All,
In my Solaris 10 - Netra CP3060, the following particular script is not running:
lrc:/etc/rc2_d/S00set-tmp-permissions
lrc:/etc/rc2_d/S07set-tmp-permissions
Above script is to set the default permission of /tmp & /var/tmp while rebooting if it found any inconsistencies. I changed the file permission of /tmp and rebooted my server. As the above scripts are not running, it shouldn't change the file permission to default. But the file permission changed after reboot.
Please let me know is there any other service running related to this in my server. Was this script incorporated in SMF facility, if so whats that service name?

Now, I need to run unix command something like

XP Mode in Windows 7 on T400, CPU virtualization not enabled (but it really is) error

I installed Windows 7 Pro 64bit on my T400 this week. I'm trying to get the XP mode VM to run because the VPN's for work aren't compatible with Windows 7 yet. When using the tool to verify compatibility of the T400 with Microsoft's new VM software it says that hardware virtualization is not enabled. According to microsofts help page that means the laptop is compatible but the CPU virtualization needs to be enabled in the bios. I followed their instructions to enable it but there was no change. I returned to the bios to verify & sure enough, it's on. I installed XP mode vm & vm software but it wouldn't run stating the above problem.
Has anyone else run into this or know how to fix/get around it?

I found the answer in another forum. Apparently just restarting isn't enough to make the switch work properly. The computer needs to be shut down & left off for a few seconds then started for each change to CPU virtualization to be applied.
So, I disabled it again. Turned it off for a few seconds. Re-enabled, turned off for a few seconds. Then it worked after booting to windows.
