Activation at store/home

I reserved my iphone to pick up at the apple store. Do I have to let them activate it or can I do it in the comfort of my home. Also, let's say they have problems activation(as some others have said happened with 3gs), can I just continue to use my old iphone and then activate when things have slowed down?

The store should give you the option.

Your existing iPhone will continue to be activated until your new iPhone is activated. Your existing iPhone will be de-activated at the same time your new iPhone is activated.

Hi Monty,
Sorry to say it, but this is normal for Apple TVs. I've owned a TV2 and a TV3, and neither lasted for an entire year. They are quite fragile and of low quality, and as you can see here, quite fussy even when they work. The wi-fi receiver on these are cheap and unreliable.
Consider the $99 an annual rental fee. They rarely work for a whole year, so if you are going to use the platform, you will have to replace them constantly.
Also, when one dies under warranty, never, never send it to Apple for repair. Go to the Apple Store for replacement. I sent my ATV3 in for warranty repair using a box sent to me by Apple, and although FedEx tracking showed it was accepted by Apple, it was never seen again. Apple won't replace it or even return my calls.

Some pages of my website are not active from the home page

Built my website with iweb. When I go to the site the tabs to all the pages show, but several of them are not active from the home page. If I go to one of the active pages I can then click on the other pages. Is there a way to fix this? I've tried reloading the entire site, but several of the tabs remain inactive from the home page. Any help would be greatly appreciate - Thanks, Jodi

Thanks Roddy - I tried moving it down and it didn't work - That line is in the Template I used to build the site and is on every page. I did finally get the command A to work, but there's nothing covering those bottom three tabs.
However, when I put my mouse in the area of the box where it has my name (the image you sent me above) it shows a link desktop/site/booker_files and I noticed I have one of the rss feed blue arrows, but I can't seem to delete it. I wonder if that has something to do with it. It does the same thing on the website if you hover with your mouse.

I figured it out!
I read a solution for something that sounded similar.
Anyone in similar position:
Open iTunes app on iPhone, and pick an option from bottom, such as music. Then scroll down to bottom of page and where your iTunes ID is, press on it, and pick sign out.
Then return to home screen, and double press home button and press and hold on first icon showing, until a minus symbol appears in the top left of icons present. Press on each minus symbol on each app in turn, until all app icons have disappeared. Then Restart the phone by pressing and hold the home button and the on/off/standby button at top of phone, until the apple symbol appears in centre of blank screen.
Swipe to turn phone fully on and open settings and scroll down to iTunes and apps option and tap that. Pick sign in and put in your apple ID, it will accept it and then return to home screen and open iTunes a you'll find it works fine
Simple really, but some like me won't think f this themselves!

Itunes Store Home Country Mysteriously Switched

I opened my iTunes store recently and searched for an album, however, once I found it I noticed the prices were all in "Kr" which I found out is the abbreviation for currency in either Norway or Sweden. How would my Store have switched like that? I know that I didn't do it because I don't know how to...the program prompted me to return to the U.S. store when I signed in, so the problem is fixed. I just want to know if I was hacked or something else happened that would have caused the switch in the first place. Thanks for any help

I'm a rookie on iTunes and the same happened to me. I went looking for a German song on the German site, forgetting how I had reached there. Try this : go to the iTunes-Store home page (the thing that looks like a garden shed in the top-left-hand corner of the store panel is the link) ; at the bottom of the page should be -- assuming your page the same as ours -- a little button with part of a Norwegian autc. flag on it. Select United States from the list next to it and, when the page comes back, you should see Betsy Ross instead.

I need to delete computers that are no longer active from my itunes Home sharing account so that I can sign up the new computers. I am using a Mac laptop. The computers that were previously linked to the Homesharing are no longer available, they have been wiped and are not in the house anymore. Does anyone know how to do this?

The apps aren't stored in your personal iCloud account and don't use any of your storage. They are only stored in the App store. The iCloud symbols are only links to your previous purchases in the App store so you can download them again. If you don't want to see certain apps, you can hide them in iTunes on your computer as explained here: iTunes Store: Hiding and unhiding purchases. Once hidden in iTunes, you should no longer see them on your phone.

Is the Iphone 5 Activation at Store at Time of Pickup Optional?

I bought an Iphone 5 as an upgrade to an existing phone last night and chose the "in store pickup" option. I got an email stating it was ready and went to pick it up. All was well until the associate told me that the by completing the checkout process (ie scanning the barcodes on the side of the box) would instantly disable my existing phone! The problem was the existing phone was across town and my wife needed it for several more hours until she got home.
I asked to take the phone and activate it myself later and the associate indicated this was not possible. I left the store and now have to return this weekend when I have time, since the location is not close to my house/work. I am very annoyed about the wasted trip, but I will be livid if Apple retail locations force you to immediately activate. What about surprise gifts (which mine no longer is, since I have to organize the pickup around my wife's schedule)? I activated my mail-ordered Iphone 5 just fine at home. Why is there a difference?
Did I get bad information from the associate or did Apple make activation mandatory at retail locations?

Hmmm. I just ran GeekBench here in Sydney and it has identified my A1429 iPhone 5 as a CDMA version. Whatever, it is running fine on LTE on the Telstra network here.
Is this just a glitch in GeekBench or is Apple really using the Verizon A1429 version interchangeably with the GSM-only A1429 as the world-phone?

Quit iTunes. Open a Finder window. Click on "Go" in the menu bar. Hold down the option key and the Library folder pops up. Click on that. Go to the Preferences folder. Find and move the file "com.apple.iTunes.plist" to the desktop. Open iTunes (iTunes will behave like you're opening it for the first time but you'll have all of your contents). Try the store again.

Haave you tried closing the iTunes store app via the iPad's multitasking bar and seeing if it works properly when you re-open it ?
iOS 7 : double-click the home button to open the taskbar, and then swipe or drag the iTunes store app's screen from there up and off the top of the screen to close it, and click the home button to close the taskbar.
iOS 6 and below : from the home screen (i.e. not with iTunes 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the iTunes app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't fix it then you could try a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

I agree to NOT store them in iPhoto. If you anticipate having large media (movies, music & photograph) library I'd recommend storing them on external HD's. Apple provides directions on how to move these libraries in:

What lights show / don't show on front of router (count them off)?

Dun tink that creative customer support sucks cos I had been dealing with them in the past and I can say that their service are quite gd and fast. If you wanted a refund, I tink you need to contact the store that sells you the product. Dun tink creative will refund you though.
