Activation CS2

How can I activate a CS2 Creative Suite Production Studio Premium when my activation burned out with the old HDD.? The other activation is on another computer and is in use. I attempt to activate the product on the same computer where the HDD burned out, on a new HDD.

Thanks, al lis working now

  • Activating CS2

I have reinstalled CS2 after completely erasing and reformatting my new Macbook Pro hard drive.
For some reason i cannot activate Photoshop.
(Working on the assumption that my old Macbook Pro's activation may still be current (it's not available for access at the moment) I have deactivated CS2 on my desktop computer.)
    Where to now?

Most likely you'l have to get in touch with Adobe to resolve this problem.
Contact Adobe Support to activate by phone, 1-866-772-3623.
Have a look at this document for more details: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/100/1008779.html

  • Activating CS2 on third computer, don't have access to old computer.

Hello, I bout CS2 with my wacom tablet many years ago and I am now on my third computer I have installed this product on.  However, I no longer have access to either of the two previous computers to deactivate.  I've already tried to use chat support, but it doesn't work on any browser I have and calling on the phone just directs me here.
I can't afford to buy a new version (not to mention I use it infrequently enough that going 'subscription' is not feasible either), please help.

    you're in luck:  http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/creative-suite-2-activation-end-life.htm l

Encore is a goner. Licensing restrictions with the MPEG stuff prevent Adobe from providing an unprotected version.
En clair, problème de license avec le MPEG, ce qui explique qu'il n'est plus présent à la réinstallation. Je n'ai pas encore cherché pour la version cs3.

  • CS2 in vista =3D filter missing, activating CS2 affects monitor display

I have photoshop CS2 in Windows Vista Home Premium. At first it was working fine. Then I noticed that the 3D filter is absent. Still the rest of the program was working fine. Now when I go to open the CS2, it takes about 3 to 5 minutes to open, and when it finally does open, it causes everything (both photoshop and non-photoshop items) that is displayed on the monitor screen to be 'fuzzy', and the CS2 screen does not fit the monitor screen properly. Also, the 'Save-As' fly-out seems to have reverted to a primitive version. For example, there is no 'Save as JPEG' option pesent. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but there was no difference. My torment continues, no doubt I have lost a few strands of hair
...does anyone have any suggestions for fixes to these problems?

"Trash the prefs" – translation for non PS geeks:
Try resetting your preferences as described in the FAQ.
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/375776?tstart=0
You either have to physically delete (or rename) the preference files or, if using the Alt, Ctrl, and Shift method, be sure that you get a confirmation dialog.
This resets all settings in Photoshop to factory defaults.
A complete uninstall/re-install will not affect the preferences and a corrupt file there may be causing the problem.

  • Activating CS2 without internet

I have a old but new unopened Illustrator CS2 and want to activate it ut Adobe says it no longer activates them anymore. The trouble is the product is going on another machine without internet connection. Adobe said I should download it but how do I do that without internet on that machine?

use a computer with a connection and download it to usb storage or external harddrive that you transfer to your connectionless machine.

  • Having trouble activating CS2 Creative Suite

I've been trying for weeks now to activate my software but i'm just no getting anywhere, i have contacted Adobe via Chat and all they keep giving me is this link
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/creative-suite-2-act ivation-end-life.html
    https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/entitlement/index.cfm?e=cs2_downloads
I've followed the instructions on it and when i get to the end of download it comes up saying "The installer could not start because of the following reasons: Missing or invalid personalization Information or Missing resources libary.
I contacted Adobe again on at with the above but they say because the software is so old they cant help and have told me to come onto the forum to see if someone can help me

you when extract those files they, by default, extract into different directories.  they should be in the same directory.
so, to remedy, move the extracted files to the directory created when disk 1 is extracted.

  • Same Photoshop CS2 activation issue with new installer also.

Dear Adobe support team, we have downloaded the Photoshop cs2 from the link http://www.adobe.com/downloads/cs2_downloads/index.html. As per your suggestion I un-installed the older version and installed new version and tried to activate the product. But I have failed to activate as per your instruction. I want to get rid of activation message. Kindly also let us know what all do we have to un-install before the fresh installation.

    Thanks for your support.
We are able to active CS2 in administration login. Now there is no activation message.
Now there is a different message window popping up. Every time I launch Photoshop CS2, the adobe updater message is popping up. I am not able to take screen shot of the window. We tried deactivating this in msconfig options but no success.

  • CS2 Activation Error on OS X 10.5 - Phone Support useless

Has anyone been able to active CS2 on OS X 10.5?
I get an 'not enough numbers' error.  I've called support three times over the last 15 days, and two weeks ago they offered a solution within 48 hours, a week ago they promised a solution within 48 hours.
I have a educational copy bought several years ago.  I migrated from a Mini to a MBP and well... I find support useless and full of crap.
    --san

there are 24 digits in a serial number.
Also CS2 is not supported in 10.5.x and never will be. If you can get it to work great but you are on your own.
If you have a new Mac its an Intel Mac. CS2 is not native to Intel Macs and must run in Rosetta a PowerPC chip emulation. This ads another level of problems.

  • Crazy to install CS2 on Quad Core 64 bit Windows 7 notebook?

I've been a video producer/director/editor since 1970 and have witnessed most all the progress and insanity of the "corporate wars" to dominate video production and later, video editing.  I no longer see any reason to differentiate between still photography, video production, editing, web authoring, print production, graphics, CGI, CAD etc...ad nauseum. My dream has long been to have one very powerful laptop that could do most everything that a creative person desired on location anywhere in the world.
My new notebook is an ASUS Quad Core G71GX with 6 GB RAM - an Nvidia Geoforce GTX 260M - and 2 - 500 GB, 7200 rpm hard drives - Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit OS. These days I shoot most video using a Canon SX1 IS at 1080 30p and the files are playing back beautifully on the 1920x1400 display at full frame rate. So for me that covers the basics. I will be upgrading from Windows 7 Home Premium to Ultimate shortly. Does anyone have issues/questions about the platform?
As to the software . . . I have been using Adobe stuff for 20 years or so.but did not get into their video editing products until Premiere 6.5. Than I jumped in with both feet and became a beta tester for the CS2 video collection. I still have my complimentary Premiere Pro 2.0 and it still works on my older XP Pro notebooks.
But now we are here in 2010 and all the major PC platforms are running 64 bit Operating Systems and I just figure that I should hold out for a true 64 bit Master Collection [which many people call CS5]. In the meantime I decided to install my CS2 Creative Suite and Premiere Pro 2.0 just so I could have the benefit of these programs while I am waiting for the 64 bit to release.
I purchased my CS2 back in 2005 as a download and last night made the attempt to install it onto the ASUS. As expected the serial number did not work so I called Adobe Installation support and got started after they prompted me for the "challenge" code. When I entered it the installation began nicely UNTIL the first folder [CS_2.0_UE_Ret_D1] finished loading and UP POPPED a window saying "Please insert CD #2" with only an OK button. Well, I didn't have any CDs because the suite was delivered as a download way back when and there seems to be no way to get to Disk 2 folder.
I finally decided to Quit the install when up pops a window that says [paraphrasing]. Your Photoshop program on Disc 1 has been verified and so try again to install. I said OK and up pops a window with all the various programs and the option to select Install. I selected each one [except GoLive because I now have Dreamweaver CS4] and proceeded. I sort of kluged my way through the transition from D1 to D2 to D3 to D4 folders and by all indications had a successfully installed, registered and activated CS2 suite on the ASUS notebook. Restarted the machine.
Opened Photoshop and up comes an error message "Your Adobe Photoshop user name, organization or serial number is missing or invalid. The application cannot continue and must now exit" "OK", which I pressed and Photoshop closed. Checked the other CS2 programs and none of them would open.
I would appreciate any pointers on how to get CS2 Creative Suite to install properly since Adobe Tech Support says such installation help is out of date and recommended this forum.
BTW: I run Videography Lab and am the "seminal author of videography". OCT 1972 American Cinematographer. I have a different take on the meaning of videography than most folks. After 38 years of research and contemplation I believe "Videography means 'I know to write' or conversely 'writing my knowing'" The platform that I've been talking about is the technology tool that enables such communication in "the Age of Videography" [Miller Freeman Publishing - 1996].
Call me crazy and than help me get this sorted out

PS: Does anyone beside me expect a sudden and dramatic shootout between Final Cut Studio & Adobe Creative Suite soon?

    Hi Michael--
Upon continued research we found your statement "CS 2 isn't compatible with Windows 7 32-bit no less 64-bit." not quite true. We grant you that, in it's raw state, Windows 7 will not install, activate, register etc. CS2 programs. That's been the Adobe position for quite a while.
Now that we have Windows 7 in hand and can play we found that if you have Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate edition you can acquire for $89.95 and download/install in an hour or so "Windows Virtual PC" and "Windows XP Mode".[Note: This feature is not available on Home editions].
We purchased the platform and once it is installed we had a "Windows XP platform" on our Windows 7 machine. From that point forward the installation of CS2 and many other of our old favorite programs was a snap. We've opened and worked with Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign etc. with no problems.
And, by the way, Premiere Pro 2.0 intalled easily on Windows 7. We're testing it now with some sub-1080p projects.
As to the long nagging problem of Adobe Installer not recognizing the downloaded CS2 CAB files during installation, we worked around by just saying OK when the installer asked for the next disc and immediately clicked on the desired disc in a seperate exlorer window which contained all the download files.
So that's the workaround for us. Now we wait to see who wins the race to enchant users with 64 bit editing and imaging suites.
    Thanks for all your help.

  • How do I deactivate CS2 Premium software when I no longer have computer?

How can I deactivate the license for CS2 Premium software for a computer I no longer have, so I can install on my current computer?

Deactivation is no longer available for CS2 or earlier since Adobe decommissioned the CS2 activation server a couple of years ago.
Error: Activation Server Unavailable | CS2, Acrobat 7, Audition 3
On your new computer, download the new non-activation CS2 from the above link and enter the new serial number provided at that link. Your existing CS2 serial number will no longer work.
PS This will only work for Windows. CS2 will not install or run on modern Macs since the PowerPC code it is written in is incompatible with Intel processors.

  • Where have the CS2 filters gone after leopard upgrade?

I have CS2 on a Powerbook G4 1.5Ghz operating on Leopard 10.5.7. The Powerbook was previously my brothers so I inherited all the software on it. CS2 was reinstalled after a recent upgrade from Tiger to Leopard.
Since then, I have had only 5 filter options in Photoshop - Blur, Noise, Pixelate, Sharp and Stylize.
I have searched everywhere for the files on the system, in case they were accidently moved, despite the fact I never mess around with the system folders.
I have been able to add plugins by placing them in MacintoshHD> Adobe> Plugins> CS2> File Formats. The plugin then appears in Photoshop.
Also, I noticed that when I go to Applications> Adobe creative suite> Adobe Photoshop CS2, there is no "plugins" file (like there is for Illustrator outline the filter options).
Im really missing the basic filters I used to have especially the halftone and its options.
I have searched this forum and notice someone had the same problem, but the suggested solutions have not helped me. I neither have a backup copy of CS2 or the original disk. The CS2 software is an educational package (from UCLA).
Would anyone have any advice on how I can get the basic filters back?
    Many thanks!

Well excuse me sir for having a hand-me-down-mac.
    Call the FBI!
You should not be so quick with your accusations.
FYI, my family had 2macs. One with CS, the other with CS2. Both macs were upgraded to Leopard, then the computers were swapped around as I preferenced Photoshop CS2. Adobe have never mentioned anything about "pirated software" - in fact were most helpful when I rang them and they re-activated  CS2 - consider your statement as "idiotic".
I should report you for abuse.

  • Is it possible to change UI language in CS2?

    Hello,
I bought and installed Adobe CS2 Standard Edition (bought in English) many years ago, and I was able to select the language I wanted for the UI during the CD installation. Now that I want to switch the activation to another computer, I discovered the activation server error. The error page* mentions that the product should be selected and installed in the language that it was orinally bought in (in my case, English). Can I still change the UI language after I have installed it or am I stuck with English? Feedback would be much appreciated.
    * = The error page for activating CS2 may be found here: http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/creative-suite-2-activation-end-life.htm l

No, only the language the product was installed in will be available. If you need a different language, you will have to choose it during install/ run a reinstall in the different language, but that may not at all be possible, because the serial number also determines the language...

  • Reinstalled Illustrator CS2 but can not activate

HELP!  I replaced my computer and reinstalled Illustrator CS2 (works fine for me, I don't need an upgrade) but it won't allow me to activate over the internet and when calling the activate over the phone it simply tells me to go to the adobe.com/go/activate site.
This of course tells me to uninstall and reinstall. That is not the issue.
How do I keep this program to which I paid for, active now that I have re-installed it on my new computer?

    laurens,
Adobe has stopped the activation servers, so you need to go to this Adobe page and use the non activation CS2 version(s) along with the relevant replacement serial number(s):
    https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/entitlement/index.cfm?e=cs2%5Fdownloads
If you have the Premium suite, you will have to download Acrobat and GoLive separately.

  • Problem loading CS2 disks

Trying to load CS2 onto Win 7 machine. PC gets through disk 1 fine (takes about 20 minutes). The PC cannot read disk 2. Physical disk looks to be in perfect condition. What to do?

    Forget the discs.
They won't work anyway since they contain a copy of the software which requires activation - and Adobe shut down the CS2 activation server a couple years ago. So your CS2 serial number will never successfully activate the software again.
Download a copy of the non-activated CS2 from Error: Activation Server Unavailable | CS2, Acrobat 7, Audition 3
Install then enter the new non-activation serial number provided at that link. Your existing serial number will no longer work.
