Activation date pushed back twice

Hello,
I recently moved into a new flat and told BT 4 weeks in advance that I will be moving and I was told the line would be activated on the 27th of June. That day passed and only the phone line was activated. I called up and was then told that there was an issue with activating Infinity broadband so they gave me another activation date which is today. Today I called just to check if everything was fine and after about an hour of waiting in queues I was told that the order got "lost in the system" and that a new activation date has been set for the 16th of July.
Is this normal? How many times can they push back the activation date? Im considering cancelling my contract as it's becoming more and more frustrating. Can I cancel my contract if they haven't provided me with the full service?
I depend on the internet as I work from home and I've pushing back deadlines as I can't work properly without it. I already spent £80 on topping up mobile data and I just can't afford to keep working like this.
Has anyone had a similar experience? Can anyone give me some advice?

activation is by openreach who own the lines so regardless of ISP apart from cable you will need openreach to install/activate your connection.
as this is a residential line and is not supposed to be used for business purposes albeit many use it for checking business email and casual business use.  there is therefore no consideration about loss of business.  did you consider a business line which would give you a better level of service guarantee

After waiting approx. a month for my Fios install, I get an email three days before the initial install date saying that it has been pushed back, another 30 days.
I call to find out why, no one can tell me. I want to cancel my order, no one can help me.

  • Why was my delivery date pushed back a whole week????!!!!

I ordered my ipad 3 on sunday the 25th.. from then on till yesterday the delivery was april 4th to 11th, now the delivery date is  Apr 9 - Apr 16. they did this without informing me.

We're all just fellow users here and have no idea why your delivery date might have changed. Call the Apple Store or dealer you ordered from and ask.

  • Album, supposed to be released today, pushed back date to February, but I was charged today

This happened to everyone who preordered American Idol winner, Candice Glover's new album.  It was supposed to be relieased today; however the release date was pushed back until February.  I woke up this morning to find the "album" downloaded onto my iPhone...that is nine MP3s of four second snippits of dead air.  And my iTunes card was debited for $7.10 (I already had her single, so this was a "complete my album" transaction.
I need the money debited back to my iTunes card.  There are several albums I want to buy this month, and I can't afford to break out the credit card.  Money is tight this month.

    Hello LadyBeBop,
I'd recommend reporting the issue to the folks in our iTunes Store.

  • My order date has been pushed back to April 2nd when I ordered on Thursday! However people who ordered on Friday are still getting delivery on March 16th?

Hello everyone! On Thursday of last week I ordered the new iPad and I got a confirmed delivery date of March 16th! However my payment wasn't confirmed until 2pm the same day! So I still ordered it on Thursday! However after checking my delivery status on Saturday it was pushed back till April 2nd! However I checked with friends who ordered there's the day after me on Friday and there's will be delivered on March 16th whys this happened to me?

Yes, sure. Is there a way I can message you it privately? I don't really want to just post it on here (especially since I asked a question about it and Apple was so kind to delete it. Censorship ftw). If there isn't drop me a line snbd1 at student.london.ac.uk and I'll fw you her address.
Basically, I'll let her know you're writing to her. Make sure you attach your friends order confirmations as proof, because otherwise they'll claim it's heresay. She was very nice though, so I hope we'll get some answers.
edit: Ok, there isn't a private message option. Super. Don't want to cause her any trouble by publicly announcing her email address for people to spam, so drop me an email (use a throwaway account if you're worried about security )

  • Why has my delivery date been pushed back for The New iPad?

My iPad delivery date has been pushed back to March 20. Anyone else get the same email? When I ordered it, it said it would arrive on March 16. It annoyed me because I sat on my MacBook for 5 hours waiting for the Store to come back online after it went down a second time and as soon as it was back I ordered it!! Has anyone else received a similar email? The best part is the online store stated delivery for new orders as "delivered March 16" for an entire 24 hours after I ordered!!!

I know it's worth the wait, I've had the first two. But that's not the point of this discussion. I ordered as soon as it was available and then they tell me I have to wait, but everyone else who ordered at the same time doesn't? I don't care if they've been overwhelmed by orders. It happens with ever iPhone and iPad, they need to start getting sufficient stock for release day and stop giving us the same old story of how unexpected the demand was.
Then, you should be used to it and just expect it to happen. If you are unhappy, perhaps you should just go to a store and purchase an Android tablet and get it immediately. Problem solved.

  • Activation date just came, and went..

    Hi all,
It's kind of ironic that I decided to come back to BT because I had had enough of Sky. Being increasingly disgruntled with the service that Sky was providing over the last year (I had both line rental and Broadband with them), I literally couldn't wait to leave and come back to BT. So, I signed up with BT on Jan 1st (Through Return to Donor). I wanted to take my phone number with me. I then phoned up Sky a couple of days later and cancelled. At this point, Sky put the cancellation date for January 13th, but my BT activation date was 17th Jan (I think her name was Emily at BT who told me that, and who advised me to get Sky not to cancel on that date, otherwise I would have to pay a connection charge).
I phoned Sky and got them to change the date (After a lot of pushing). BT changed the date to 21st January for activation and so the cancellation date with Sky was also January 21st. So here I am, expecting my Sky Line Rental and Broadband to stop today, and BT to provide the phone service (With me signing up for Broadband once I get paid at the end of the month). I phoned up multiple times prior to today to make sure that there were absolutely no problems. The guy I talked to yesterday said: "There are no problems, sir. Everything is going smoothly with the transfer." I was awake at 8am today, and around 9am, the broadband and phone stop working. Sitting there, I'm expecting the phone to start working sometime soon. 10am comes and goes. 1pm comes and goes. 5pm comes and goes. You get the picture. It's now 9.19pm and no service. But that's not what's irritating me. What's starting to annoy me is that BT have disconnected me on the agreed date as they told me to make in relation to Sky, but haven't reconnected me. And judging by other peoples' stories, that means I'll have to pay a connection charge when I'm not at fault and I did everything that I was asked to do. Also, I dread to think what will happen in relation to the phone number that I've had for a long time.
The phone number to call is 0800 800 150 if you're not connected by 8pm. Since that's long gone, I'll be phoning in the morning. What would you guys advise doing? Get out now? My father had the same problem - He phoned regularly to make sure there were no problems until the day itself, and still got blessed with no working phone line. It took him over 2 months to sort it out, and I'm at University so can't afford to take so long, nor do I have the money to correct problems where I'm not at fault. I'm actually thinking of cancelling the order - Is that possible? Even though I placed the order on Jan 1st, and activation was supposed to be today (21st Jan), no service is being provided.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Additionally, sometimes a backing bean used in each of these task flows is constructed twice, and the following is logged in between the constructions:
<RichWindowManager> <updateCurrentWindowIdForPartialRequest> No window specified in request
<SessionDataUpdateManager> <__getPageDataUpdateManager> cannot register active data when window has no name
Neither of these things happen 100% of the time. Has anyone else experienced either of these issues?

  • 2nd activation date passed....still no broadband

After ordering broadband from BT we were originally given and activation date of Jan 26th. This was then pushed back to February 2nd and then, just hours later I received and email stating it would be the 5th.
The equipment was due to be delivered on the 2nd but actually turned up on the 3rd when no one was in so we had to pick.it up from a local post office. All of this was rather annoying but I could have lived with it if it had actually been activated on the 5th! I've spent an hour on the phone, banded about between different people just to be told it will be activated within.48 hours. How helpful. I definitely want my activation fee refunded and some kind of compensation but more than anything, I just want the broadband I'm paying for to actually work! It's now 15 hours after when I was told it would definitely be working by and still nothing!
I'd been with Virgin for years before this. Boy do I wish I'd stayed with them. What a joke.

There is probably a technical problem.
Regarding compensation, the following page should explain it.

  • Active Data Service

I'm looking for information on Active Data Service, or server push.
The only information I found is a Google Talk web client written in ADF (TP4), which no longer works with JDev 11g.
Also, it refers to Appendix H of the manual, which no longer exists.
Can anyone point me out if this actually works and some documentation / sample I can use?
    Thanks
    Jonny

We removed Active Data Services from the current production JDeveloper 11g - until it is a little better prepared.
Should be back there in the next major JDeveloper release.

  • BT Infinity Dartford pushed back AGAIN!

So this is my first time posting on the forum, but i feel i need to say this because its starting to get stupid. Back in June 2010 BT said i was going to be able to get BT Infinity 1 (40MB down | 2MB up). Well that never happened and the dates have been pushed back again to September 30th 2014 .
The only reason we switched to BT was to get Fibre Optic broadband as soon as it was available. That day never came and we are really starting to get fed up with the dates being pushed back, its almost been 4 years since BT first announced our cabinet was going to be upgraded but as of now it has not.
Our current connection is 1.9 Mbps down and 0.3 Mbps, and is not enough when two people are trying to play games on steam and the other two are watching YouTube videos. It is just such a pain that the fibre dates come and go as if no one is actually doing anything about it.
Even if my cabinet is not going to be upgraded anytime soon i would at least like an answer to the reasons why, according to openreach "We are in ongoing discussion with the relevant authority about the location of this cabinet." They have not said anything else apart from that for the past 2 years, no new information has been given.
What makes it worse, there is someone less then 100 ft from my house with a BT Infinity connection.
Is there anyone who can give me a bit more information that Openreach are giving me?
I am currently connected to cabinet P13 which is linked to the Dartford exchange.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Up until recently you could email Openreach and ask when your cabinet was likely to be upgraded however Openreach are no longer giving out that information, instead they are replying:-
Thank you for your contact to us. Please note that we will not be responding to you by email but, would like to point you to the Openreach Superfast Fibre website and the FAQ section that will provide answers to the most commonly asked questions. It will also provide links to those service providers that sell fibre broadband at the moment so you can check if your particular line is enabled.
    http://www.superfast-openreach.co.uk/where-and-when/
So in short, you just need to keep checking to see if your cabinet has been up graded.
If you use this checker it will tell what cabinet you are on and what services it can receive
    http://www.dslchecker.bt.com/adsl/adslchecker.welcome
I also found this which may be for your area.

  • BT activation date confirmed and changed 4 times! ...

Back in November last year I had placed an order to move my services (phone and BT infinity 2 at the time) to my new home (new build) and asked for an activation date of 22 December. At the time I paid for line rental for onw year in advance, which I now regret.
Shortly thereafter I started receiving messages and calls from BT stating that my services activation would be delayed and a date of Jan 26 2015 was eventually confirmed. As this date approached, I then got a message that the activation date had actually moved to May 22! Convinced it was an error of some sort (it also appeared on my account information online), I called BT and was assured that it would be much earlier than that but that they could not confirm when at the time. I called again later and it was eventually revealed to me that my current order was not progressing and they would open another. So, I had another order created with a potential activation date of Jan 30, but I was assured that they would try to fast track it. This was around Jan 15.
Time went by and I eventually received calls/messages/emails stating that a Jan 26 date was indeed confirmed for an engineer visit. The 26th came and nobody showed up. I called the next day, and the staff were apologetic about the situation and explained that it was an Openreach issue and that some work was still ongoing to get my services activated. I replied as I had before that many people in my street already had phone and broadband so surely the area was covered (the online coverage checker states that I can get BT infinity 2...). In the end a date of Jan 29 was again confirmed and I asked specifically if they were sure they could make it this time - I was assured that it would be the last slippage.
Sadly, it was not to be. Just yesterday I received a call saying that my service was again delayed and as such I would have to choose another activation date - the earliest offered being Feb 5. The reasons were again to do with Openreach not fulfilling their end of the bargain, and the fact that I was in a "bronze" zone. I replied that I was loosing count of how many times my activation date had been moved and re-confirmed, but was again assured that this would be the last time...
So now, I wait for Feb 5. I am considering cancelling my services with BT altogether but unsure of whether I would get my line rental saver payment back if I do so.
If a mod checks this and is willing to help, I would very appreciative. Thank you.

This problem was solved when I installed a new product version.

  • BAM Report and Active data cache

I am having problems with reports that have automatic active data retrieval.
    It does not work.
If I load the report it extracts the data correctly from an external data source. If I Reprompt or refresh it brings back changed data from the data source.
It does not automatically poll for changes even though it is set in the report properties.
If I stop and start the Active data cache service it starts polling and reconnecting, but not resynching the data.
In the Active data cache log I have the following entries :
    2005-12-01 09:36:54,062 [3576] ERROR - ActiveDataCache Viewset not found:
2005-12-01 09:36:54,078 [3576] WARN - ActiveDataCache Exception occurred in method GetChangeList

Has anyone any ideas on what the problem is ?
    Thanks

Can you identify your company and project.?
    a) Maximum capacity of ADC == maximum capacity of your underlying Oracle DB used by BAM as repository.
    b) Retention period - infinite - data is there in BAM ADC (also in BAM repository) till you manually delete it (there is no automatic delete of old data)
    c) Yes ADC stores its data internally in the Oracle database (aka BAM repository)
    d) No - we generally donot publish ADC internals. This is a known decision since end users will only work either to put data into ADC or plot reports/dashboards from BAM GUI. You have to be very specific on what your are trying to acheive and we can suggest possible alternates.
