Hi all! I firs and only user of my iPhone 4s apple. But after upgrade AppleID for activation is not valid but i do not change it! and the iPhone buyed in USA CA unlocked and i have a package! Apple support not answer to me what can i do!

My Sister got an iPhone with iOS 6 and wanted to upgrade it to iOS 7. We tried it via iTunes through the USB cable but something went wrong. I think iOS 7 downloaded correctly but, When the phone started up it had the message on the screen and the same one popped up in iTunes:
My sister had lost her old apple ID's password, so she had made a new one to use for iMessage and downloads from the App Store. The old one is still linked to the phone. We took it to our carrier's store and the IT guys said there was nothing they could do...
My point is this phone is brand new and the only thing wrong with it is the fact that it's locked. Is there at least a part in the iPhone we could change or something to get it back? or a factory reset?

You have encountered the anti-theft Activation Lock. You must enter the required information which is the "old" Apple ID. You will have to try and recover the password here:

If unable to do so, try to contact Apple Support:

Click "Other Apple ID Topics". If you are unable to enter the information, you iPhone is a brick.

Activating Objects after Upgrade

i have done a BW 3.5 to 7.0 Upgrade
After upgrade i see that some of the objects are in active.
Please let me know whehter there is any program/report to active the objects which was active before

Can't turn off Rotation Lock after upgrade to iOS 8

After upgrading iPad to iOS 8, the device is locked in portrait mode. I assume this is what "Rotation Lock" means. In Settings, Rotation Lock is checked and cannot be changed. I don't have this problem with my iPod Touch. What is the fix?

They are not connected.
Mute and rotation lock are independent. However, as I said above, they can be controlled by the same side switch, but it depends on what said switch is set to in Settings->General->Use Side Switch For.

IPhone 3G locked after upgrading the software..Plz help

I have upgraded the iPhone 3G through iTunes. But it restored my phone after upgrading. Now its asking for activating the phone. A USB connector and iTunes icon is displaying on iphone screen. I am using an airtel SIM. The iTunes is displaying a message that SIM card inserted is NOT supported, use a compatible SIM card.
Before that everything was working fine. This carp happened after upgradation.
does anybody have a solution to this??

Sounds like you had a jailbroken/unlocked iPhone. Airtel is one of the authorized carriers in India, so if you bought the phone from them, contact their tech support. If you got the iPhone from somewhere else, contact the seller for help - upgrading/restoring removes the jailbreak, so you've got a paperweight now.

Icoud locked after upgrading OS

recently i upgraded my ipad os to the latest. after that my icloud cannot work because it was locked automatically !!.i dont know why and how? i am very sure that i did not lock the icoud because i didi not even know that the icoud can be locked.i did not set the passcode.now i am caught without the restriction passcode. i cannot reset ipad because it requires also the restriction passcode. my PC also was troubled with iTunes installation after upgrading because it cannot instal the new updated iTunes version. and now i cannot syn my ipad ( with new os )to my PC with old OS. How can i activate the Icloud in my iPad ?or how to reset it .

Unlocked iPhone became locked after upgrade to iOS6 - what should I do?

I bought an unlocked iPhone at the Montreal Apple store two years ago whie I was on student exchange there.
Since about a year ago I've been using it in Israel with Israeli carrier. Didn't need to jailbreak it or anything, since it was bought unlocked.
However, after upgrade to iOS6 this morning, it became locked and I can't use it again.
Any ideas what to do? Did this happen to anyone else?

You need to contact the Apple retail store in Montreal where the iPhone was purchased.
If you still have the receipt, the receipt should indicate unlocked.

Iphone4 locked after upgrade (version 4.3.5)

My Iphone4 locked twice after upgrading the operating system. The problem is the 4.3.5 update? It simply locks the unlock screen. Please, someone is also going through this?

Unfortunately there is no way to downgrade. This sounds like something with the software is acting funky. Try finding the .IPSW file on your computer and delete it. It will then download a new version of the .IPSW software and hopefully help you out. If that does not work, I would suggest restoring from a different computer or taking it to a local apple store where they can run diagmostics on it and try to help you out. You could walk out with a new device if they feel as though the software is what's causing your phone to malfunction.

My phone doesn't notify of texts/iMessages when it's locked after upgrade. Any thoughts?

After upgrading to iOS 7 on my 4s, my phone won't alert or light up on lock screen to incoming iMessage or texts. Facebook and others still work . All my settings are correct so I'm not sure. It'll alert if my phone is unlocked but not locked. Obnoxious ya know?

If it's documented as to what the problem was, that required your iPad to be replaced (which it would be on the trouble ticket), then simply take it back to the store where it was replaced and show them that the identical thing is happening.

Activation lock after iOS8 Upgrade

I regrettably upgraded my OS to 8 tonight and it immediately crashed my iPad mini. After several tries, I was able to restore the iPad using iTunes on my PC. However, I am now getting the message "[appleID] cannot be used to unlock this iPad." This iPad was given to me brand new as a gift more than a year ago (no warranty). I have only ever used one Apple ID with this iPad. If I create a new one, how to I get back all of the apps and music associated with the old one?? I am out of the country and have no plans to be anywhere near an Apple Store in the near future. Did I just lose everything?? Please help!

Creating a new ID will not help. It can only be unlocked with the Apple ID used to sign into iCloud. Since you say you've only used one Apple ID, I can only assume that the iPad wasn't really given to you "brand new" as you were told, or the person who gifted it to you had set it up themselves before giving it to you.

Problem in activating bufferpool after upgrading to 9.5 ( fixpack 1)

After I upgrade the database from version 8 to 9.5 (fixpack 1) I get the error message that the bufferpool cannot be started because there was not enough memory available. The database comes up with smaller size(16K) hidden bufferpool.
However, It works fine when I set the registry Variable ( DB2_OVERRIDE_BPF) to the size which was defined originally ( i.e 50000 pages). The size of the bufferpool was never changed during the upgrade. I am uisng only one bufferpool ( IBMDEFAUlTBP) for the database. The database is running on dedicated server running AIX ( 5.3 ML 8).
Is there any way to activate the database and start the bufferpool(IBMDEFAULTBP) with 50000 without using the the registry variable.

Hello Nasir,
DB2 V9.5 requires more memory that your previous V8 installation. You most likely need to allocate more memory for the instance. Are you using STMM? Check the db2diag.log to see if there are any Memory allocation failure errors for the timeframe that you are getting the error. I suspect you will see the following in the db2diag.log :
"Insufficient INSTANCE_MEMORY to allocate new memory set."
Check the following SAP Note for the V9.5 parameter recommendations.

One more thing to consider:
APAR IZ36972 ACTIVATION OF DATABASE WITH 20% OVERFLOW MAY UNNECESSARILY FAIL DUE TO HITTING
INSTANCE_MEMORY LIMIT
Another defect that could be the reason for memory over allocation by DB2 is APAR IZ41879.

So, please go to fixpack 4 to eliminate these possible defects.
This APAR is first fixed in fp 4 currently you are on fp 1.

SIM locked after upgrade

I upgrded to an iPhone today. Got it home. Got it working almost perfectly after a little bit of work. iTunes then prompted me to "upgrade" the iPhone's softare, so I said yes. After the update the phone rebooted and said the SIM was locked. Should I have gotten an unlock code when I bought the phone? I'm on t-mobile in Germany.

In Germany, the iPhone is carrier locked to T-Mobile.

hi there.. i am hoping someone can help me, i had to format comp due to virus, so i reinstalled windows (xp home) and installed itunes from the original ipod disk, all went well, imported all my music back into the library and so far so good.. i then upgrade itunes by following prompts set in the program... installs fine, so no prob with mcafee firewall or virus protection, but when i try to open itunes after install i get a message saying:
the itunes music library.itl file is locked, on a locked disk or you do not have write permission for this file.
please help me!! i have uninstalled and reinstalled itunes no prob, in itunes 4. something it all works fine, but as soon as i upgrade i am locked out.

Your libary.itl probably got locked by McAfee and never got saved properly during the virus incident/debacle.
- Stop itunes
- Delete C:\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Library.itl
-Start iTunes
You are totally going to lose all your ratings and other great stuff from your previous iTunes, but I don't know what else would fix it.
When you restart iTunes, it will rebuild your ITL file, since you deleted it.

Hi, I'm from Mongolia. I've bought an Iphone 4 recently. When I bought it, it was already unlocked with Gemey SIM. It was working fine until I upgraded it to iOS 6.1.3 with BB 04.12.05. Now it's locked. What can I do? I'm really lost here. Please help me

99.9% of the time, the cause of this issue is the fact the phone was jailbroken/hacked to unlock it for use on networks other than the network the phone was originally locked to. Apple maintains a database of officially unlocked iPhones, and when Apple's servers detect phones such as yours, activation stops & you get the message you got.
So, either get a sim card from the carrier your phone was originally locked to, or get it officially unlocked, if you want to activate it. Because it appears that it was not officially unlocked.
