adobe response is not helpful. I Have my serial number but it asks for another request code or something like that.

You have Photoshop CS6 as an upgrade, that is the reason it asks for previous version qualifying serial number.
If the code is being asked for some other product, please provide me the details through personal message, I shall always follow it up for you.

As indicated in the header question, I've been unable to get PS CS3 to run (other than in "trial period" mode) on my new laptop. I purchased CS3 a few years ago and had it up and running on my former (now deceased) machine; I still had the activation key. I installed the program on my new machine (running Windows 7.1), seemingly uneventfully. But when I now enter the activation key, I get an error message informing me that the number is not valid.
Does the activation key become invalid after a certain time period, or is there something I can fix? I'm interested in upgrading, but would like to have the familiar version available until I get around to doing so (just retired; lots of time-consuming changes afoot).

Just to clarify - in terms of backing up one set of these, would that just be so I had it on disk and didn't need to re-download from Adobe if the installation got corrupted somehow? Or do I need a backup for some other reason?

Activation of Photoshop cs on my new laptop computer

I just purchased a new laptop computer. I have been using Photoshop cs for a number of years. I have now installed it to my new computer from my installation cd, but I received a message that it needs to be activated. I tried to do this, but the activation failed. I was directed to a 800 telephone number, but was told that telephone activations are no longer available. I was then directed to chat on-line with someone, who then directed me to this forum. Please tell me what I need to do to activate my Photoshop cs software on my new computer. Thanks.

Short answer: download the non-activation version of CS2 (even though you own CS) from the above link and use the serial number provided at that link to license it.
Your existing serial number will no longer work.

Windows 8.1 activation error 0xC004F074 for new laptop

i just bought a new Lenovo ideapad with windows 8.1 pre installed and i m unable to activate windows.
I don`t have the product key so i installed the magical jelly bean keyfinder, got the 25 product key installed and tried the three methods on the most of the blogs (slmgr.vbs

Hi,
As the pre installed system activation belongs to OEM manufacture, in my opinion, it would be better to contact Lenovo to check why their system doesn't activated. If this is your laptop itself problem, you could ask lenovo to help you rebuild your system
and activate it.

De-activating CS6 from a new laptop which is NOT in my possession

I recently bought a new Toshiba laptop and de-activated Photoshop CS6 from my old laptop and re-activated it on the new laptop. The new laptop is faulty - at the moment it is with a Toshiba Agent, who can't repair it. Toshiba is refunding the cost of this faulty laptop. They are wiping the drive clean next week.
My problem is; how do I de-activate CS6 from the new faulty laptop, which I no longer have? Also, I don't know whether to re-activate it on the old laptop, or wait until I can purchase a new laptop again. Is there a limit to how many times CS6 can be de-activated and re-activated? This software is already on my desktop, so the enquiry is about the software being on 2 machines.

For problems like that you need to deal with Adobe Customer Support. This ias a user forum site not Adobe support. Adobe support is not all that it should be however they are set up to handle problems like yours. Disk crashes are common and I have had to deal with Adobe support for a couple of Head crashes over the years. Each of my activation problems were handled with one phone call to Adobe customer support. The hardest part these days is to find the Phone number. Adobe.come does its best to make it hard to find. Google knows the number start there.
Install CS6 call Adobe during the activation process they can help you activate the install.

How can I export my Active logins and my extensions list to my new laptop (( I'm using Firefox 3.6.4 and Win. 7 on both ))

I just want to export my big "login" list as because of depending on firefox to remember it and automaticly retype it I 've forgetten many of them! so if I can move this list to my laptop it would be easier and greater than login to every site and fourm I've joined and re-join again and lose my member or I've to ask a new password from each site then go to my email and login then change the password to the old one, it would be very nasty to do this to all of my logins!.
and also can I move my installed extensions with there currently option to firefox in my laptop having the same version of firefox "3.6.4" or I've to install them again in the laptop?.

Lightroom activation following licence transfer and install on new laptop

I have acquired LR 1 upgraded to 3 on transfer from another user and used succesfully.However on downloading to new new laptop the serial number (original and upgrade ) is red crossed and i can't activate.Can anyone help , Adobe refrred me to technical department and warned me of 'long telephone delays' while recommnedng this forum.

Yep... if you have a disk you can instead of using that just d/load the latest version from Adobe and use the serial number. Saves updating the disk version but either will work ok!!

hello, i ordered photoshop on creative cloud in August 2014 on a monthly plan, had no problems installing and using etc, until both mine and my girlfriends laptops were damaged. I then stopped paying my monthly plan. and PS was deactivated. I recently got a new laptop which im using currently, it is an aspire one with windows 7. I paid my debt to adobe to reactivate, Creative Cloud Photography plan (one-year) . I then downloaded creative cloud and logged in as usual, i go to the apps page to install PS but it only has an option that says TRY. i looked into the problem and found that with my account i can only have PS installed on two devices, and the only two solutions i saw was to uninstall on the other devices and then re install. This is my problem, my girlfriend chucked her laptop straight in the bin whilst I have mine in the cupboard in pieces not working. or the other option was to open a new account with adobe. I dont really want to follow that option as I have just paid my debt and subscription for the next month and i dont want to change my email address associated with the adobe account. Any advice or solutions will be appreciated, thank you.

You do not need the older version installed in order to install the upgrade version, but you do need the serial number from CS4 to prove that you qualify for using CS5. During the activation process for CS5, after you successfully enter the CS5 serial number you will be asked to select the qualifying version (CS4) from a list and to enter its serial number.
If you registered CS4 when you originally installed it then you might be able to find the serial number available in your Adobe account online in the Products section.

I own CS6 on my old laptop and can't find the discs. How can I recover it and install it on my new laptop?

I have the serial number for CS4, and I have the box for CS5, but can't find CS6. However CS6 is installed on my old laptop. I am moving to a newer laptop, and discovered the absence of the discs. I probably stored in my office and can't find them now. In fact, the office is a disaster since my husband died and I can't find anything! Well, maybe the printer, but that's about it. Any suggestions? I do not want to start paying $50 a month for a subscription or even $20. I want CS6 on here. Is there a download online for owners? I think I can get the serial number on CS6 that is installed on my old laptop.
Used to be you could chat online with a customer service rep and get this all straightened out. Now I can only find help in forums. If anyone knows how to get through to a customer service rep, please let me know.

For the serial number, if the software was registered when it was originally installed then the serial number should be available thru the online Adobe account for which it was registered.

I have 2 active itune accounts on the same laptop. My orginal account was set up 3 yrs ago I believe for an ipod that I have but I hadn't used it in a long time. I recently bought an iphone 4s and my daughter was helping me with itunes. She made me another itunes account under another email address that I use for facebook instead of using the account I already had. I have purchaed a few songs and ring tones from this new account, but since then I logged out and started using my old account a week or so ago. What I want to do is delete or cancel the newest account but don't know how to or what to do. The email I get from "Apple" is being sent to the email address I use for facebook and not to my orginal aol email account. Can you tell me what I need to do to? I only want one account and I would like to keep the old account.

You need do nothing more.
You will need to authorize your computer for both accounts as you have purchased from both accounts.

HT1420 How can you deauthorise devices from an iPad? I no longer have the computer which is associated with my account and I'm trying to add my new laptop but all i have is iPod iPad and iPhone that are associated with that account.

I had an old apple ID and now I have a new one. I made many purchases in my old ID and I'm trying to transfer that information to my iPad and iPhone however, it won't let me connect my new laptop so I can make those changes. It says I have 5 devices but I don't have 2 of those old devices. The only ones i have are my iphone ipad and ipod but it looks like i can deauthorize all devices on those.

Deauthorize all then authorize the active computers.
ipods/ipads/iphones are not authorized at all. Authorization applies only to computers.
