Activation of datasource :Error modified version

Hi All , Change icon is greyed out is there any program that i can run to activate the real estate datasource. or what is the other way to fix it
1. i activated the datasource in rsa5
2. it comes in rsa6
3. then in bi 7.0 i replicate the datasource but it shows modified version and change and activate button is greyed out.
please help me asap since its a BMW first deliverable and all my datasoources are in modified version. Kindly help

Hi, I've seen this problem before. I deleted the datasource in BW and then replicated again.

Changing Datasource modified version to active version

Hi all,
Datasource 2LIS_02_ITM is in modified verison in BW production,After transporting the datasource in R/3 side and replicating in production ,the datasource is showing still in modified version.Any idea to solve this problem.

Hi,
First make sure your datasource is active in R/3 production. You can check this in transaction - LBWE and in RSA3 extraction. If the datasource is inactive, RSA3 extraction gives 0 records.
If everything is in place in R/3, try to replicate in BI using transaction - RSDS.
You can also try activating your datasource using the below programms
RSDS_DATASOURCE_ACTIVATE_ALL
RS_COMSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL
RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL

How to delete modified version datasource

I have a datasource in M version and A version. I am getting datasource activation error in BI 7.0
Please let me know how to delete Modified version.

I removed a field from LO datasource 2LIS_11_VAITM , activated, tested successfully in R/3.
I replicated the datasource successfully in BW. But when activate the data source I am getting short dump ST22 ,the error message is " The ASSERT condition was violated". I am BI 7.0.
BW side in datasouece I found a not equal to sign ( which means M version is not equal to A version) and datasource is inactive.
ST22 -

Error analysis
    The following checkpoint group was used: "No checkpoint group specified"
    If in the ASSERT statement the addition FIELDS was used, you can find

Modified version is differant from active for ds in test system

Modified version is differant from active version in test system for ds 0FI_AA_12 (unequal sign close to ds).
Once I try to load data to PSA , the system generates the following error :
ds is not replicated
I replicated ds many times , re-transported it but nothing helps

Hi,
After you replicate the datasource,it will become inactive and so you need to activate it again.
Always replicate first and then activate.

We have created a generic datasource. While we are activating the datasource, its throwing up a message saying: "Error in database while accessing a table." And also "Generation of conversion exit and PSA update". Please advice.

There are issues still pending in our report design. Besides the above issue, we have also got another issue related to Absenteeism column.
Example:
The report needs to show the absenteeism column on a monthly basis. If an employee goes on a unscheduled leave for 10 days which are scattered in two months (Ex: he takes leave from 28th April till 7th May), then if the report is executed for April, for that Employee, it should show only 3 days, i.e. 28th, 29th & 30th. The remaining days have to be displayed in the Absenteeism column of May report, i.e 1st, 2nd...till 7th.
There is one record whenever an employee goes on an unscheduled Leave.

Hence this record has to be split into two, based on the no. of days the employee has gone on an unscheduled leave in both the months like below.

Error while activating the datasource during migration

Hi Guys,
When we were trying to migrate the datasources from 3.x to BI 7.0, we are encountering an error with the activation of the datasource. The datasource itself has been migrated but the ativation log gives and error

Has anyone encountered this issue? Your input is highly appreciated.

Error while activating BC datasources

Hi guys,
I am getting this error while activating BC datasources...it is only with my login, rest of the users can work well.
Error:
DataSource 0BP_ACTITLE_TEXT; switch to package BUPA_CENTRAL_DATA_BW is off
this happened with all DS in the BC, the problem occured because while activating initially my connection got disconnected and then this problem started.....
how do i rectify this? any help would be highly appreciated.....

Activated all datasources by mistake

Hi all,
I have the following problem - while I was trying to activate in RSA5 an FI data source, by mistake (I didn't click on the Select the Subtree +/- Button) I Activated ALL datasources (around 1046) which were added in a request.
In order to solve this I compared the Development with the Production, and deleted all the Data sources which were not in Production, and also deleted all the objects from the request.
Everything seemed ok. But, now that i did the replication of Data Sources from that system, in the BI system, I encounter the following problem: no data source has "arrived", other than the ones already existing, but for the ones already there, it has added a modified version (by me).(status changed from active to modified)
How can I undo this? It does not bother me, but the next time someone does a change here, problems may occur.
Please help!!!

Use the program RSDS_DATASOURCE_ACTIVATE_ALL to activate the data sources.
now goto R3 system --> RSA6 check the data source which you want are active or not.
If not activate them and replicate them into BI system.

Hierarchy Datasources in modified status

Folks,
Hierarchy datasources (replicated ones from R/3) are all in the modified version. They are 3.x datasources. I tried to activate them using following methods:
1) replicated them again
2) activated the transfer rule again
3) installed the datasource on BW side again
3) tried using program RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL
None of the above methods worked and the datasources are still in the modified version. Though the loading status are all green but it seems that no changes updated in BW.
Please guide/suggest. Thanks in advance.

i assume you guys are on NW04s BI 7.0, all DataSource that are created in BI 7.0 are new design, master data attribute, text and transaction DataSource can all be created in the new BI 7.0, but for hierarchy DataSource, it remains as 3.X, if you double click on the Hier DataSource, you will see the title "...Emulated 3.X ...", so the DataSource should be working perfectly fine except it is in "Modified" version, i believe it is just SAP has not or can't a way to upgrade hier DataSource.

Wanted: a modified version of PlaceMultipagePDF -- to impose

SCRIPT TO IMPOSE AN INCOMING PDF
I need a script that uses a modified version of the sample script supplied with CS4 (called PlaceMultiPagePDF.jsx, or the Applescript equivalent). Instead of placing the pages sequentially:
1 –> 1
2 –> 2
3 –> 3...
the script would place the PDF pages in 2-Up Perfect Bound imposition order. The arrangement is outlined in the attached document. It would be very flexible to allow for any combination of signature lengths. As a simple example, for a 8-page booklet, the script would place the pages from the PDF in this order in InDesign:
1 –> 2
2 –> 3
3 –> 6
4 –> 7
5 –> 6
6 –> 5
7 –> 4
8 –> 1
I have written a Pidgin BASIC code that handles the page sequencing (see attached document), but I have to steer clear of actually scripting it -- my programming skills end at MS BASIC ca 1986 (which I still use occasionally on my 512k Fat Mac as I can't get anything out of modern BASIC). Why did they ever complicate things with Java and the like?
Anyway, I have manually stepped through my flowchart several times and haven't come across an error, so all that is required ("all" he says, in hope) is to interrupt the pages coming from the PDF, and instead of 1 -> 1, 2->2... the script steps in and says "Whoa there... you're not going to page 315, you're going to page 297. Would it be that simple? As simple as inserting a bit of renumbering code as per my flowchart?

Thanks for the script, Jongware, but it is not quite what I need.I think yours generates one huge saddle-stitch arrangement, whereas I want the ability to generate a group of smaller ones (effectively a variable-length perfect-bound arrangement), thus my listing of "numbers of sheets" in each signature as the input.
Someone has been kind enough to write an Applescript that does the job. I haven't fully tested it, but really, what is there to test? It seems to work for me. One problem: it can't handle InDesign page numbers other than plain numbers, but I can work around that if I need to. Imposition from InDesign here I come -- run the script, paste the output into Page Range of the Export dialog box, and stand back while the bytes fly.
If a script could be run from the open Export window (to allow setting up of the various options), this script (or a JS version) could be carried one step further, not that I'm wanting to at this stage. The start page and the various signature lengths could be entered; options set up in the Export window; then the script could:
1. Generate the imposed number sequence and place them into the Page Range field of the active document;
2. Export the PDF;
3. Call on PlaceMultipagePDF, set to automatically create a new InDesign document and place the PDF pages.
It would be a very flexible, simple way of obtaining variable-length, 2-Up imposition from InDesign.
