Activation of SAP M DSD

Hi Expert.
We need to maintan Salesman plan visits to the customer in SAP and for that
i came to know that DSD is giving us this functionality.
Whenever i am going to run any transcation of DSD its gave me message
that DSD is not activated you have to activate it.
Now my question is what will be effect on our running system when we will activate DSD.
How can we activate DSD.
How can we maintain Salesmen Plan Visit in DSD.

Hi Malik,
I have this functionality with industry solution " Beverages".
It has Business function set. which we need to activate/switch on. But once you will activate this set . You can swtich it off.
So you have to be very careful with this.

Error when creating a business activity in SAP BPC 10.1

Hi Experts,
I am failing to save a new business activity in SAP BPC 10.1 when setting up a new business process flow. I can validate the the activity successfully, however when I try to save the activity i receive the following message " Saving the workspace failed because of a missing root folder; contact your system administrator"

Hi Kudzai,
The error you're getting in BPC 10.1 is because the environments were migrated from BPC 10.0 or older version using transaction UJBR and it was not migrated to 10.1 after the restore.
SAP Note 2052538 provides resolution for this. Please follow the instructions of Upgrade Guide for BPC NW 10.1:
Execute migration program UJT_MIGRATE_100_TO_101 to migrate 10.0 data to 10.1 if the restored environment was backed up from a BPC NW 10.0 system
Execute migration program UJT_MIGRATE_75_TO_101 to migrate 7.5 data to 10.1 if the restored environment was backed up from a BPC NW 7.5 system

Activities are explained in CR010 & CR300. It is a transaction type used to record sales activities e.g. telephone call, email or customer visit or a follow up call, request to fill up a questionnaire or request to set the status to complete etc. in customer/partner engagement lifecycle. This has mainly information like: Activity type partner, texts & dates. However it is an order document like opportunity, sales order etc. & extra information can be added by including customer set types like we do in opportunity, quotation, sales order, conttract etc.
Activities are a central part of SAP CRM & used across application e.g. Interaction Center, Sales, Marketing etc.
I hope this should be sufficient & helpful.
If you need to understand more about basic concept of Activities please see the dropdown list for Activity types..this will give you a good idea as to what are the kinds of business transactions which can be activities.
Regarding Quotation thing...Quotation is not an activity but 'Create Quotation' or 'Create Quotation as follow up to a lead or opportunity' can be an activity.

Error Activating Hierarchy SAP BW 7.3

Hello Fellow BWer's!
I'm facing an odd issue regarding this instructions found in the forums:
BW 7.30: Hierarchy loading becomes easier with the help of new framework
Loading Hierarchies from Flat File using the new DataSource and Transformation Technology
While I try to activate a hierarchy based on thiese 2 whitepapare's mathods, I get first this warnings
After accepting the activation with warnings I receive this error messages: RSDS666,RSDS133,RSDS134,RSO404
I'm attaching also a file of the complete activation list.
Please help me to acheive this or suggest me a better way to load a Hierarchy With Time Dependancies from an CSV

I tried this by following steps in the first link I provided, this is, using Flexible Hierarchy and data is coming from a CSV file in my local computer, the only different thing here is that I'm trying to make it time dependant.
And the preview of the file is as follows:
Also, the error messages say are not clear to me
1.-The data object "L_S_DATA_0001" has no component called "HIENM", but there is a component called "H_HIENM".
2.-Code line has errors: " l_s_data_0001-hienm = l_s_hie-hienm."
3.-Syntax error in routine "ASCIIHIER " (Conversion method), line 253 of generated program"
4.-Error when activating DataSource ZAI_ORGU_HIE ZLOCALCSV

Business Activity in SAP CRM 7.0 WebUI

Hello SAP Experts,
In SAP CRM 7.0, under maintain activities, I have assigned categories to class interaction log, appointments and tasks.
The same categories have been assigned to some business activities. For example Category Sales Call (001) is assigned to Interaction Log. The sales call is in turn assigned to Transaction Type- Business Activity.
When I log on to web ui, I am able to see this business activity under Interaction Log and create the transaction.
In the same way, when I assign category u2013CX4 (Telephone Call) to class Phone Call to a Transaction Type-Sales Call (0001-business activity), I am not able to see the same in web ui.
The same holds good when categories are assigned to Class Miscellaneous, Letter, Meeting, E-mail etc, are in turn assigned to transaction types are visible in web ui.
Kindly clarify, whether all the business activities fall under APPOINTMENT, INTERACTION LOG, TASK, E-MAIL AND VISIT PLAN in WEB UI.
The other category class, apart from the above mentioned, where can they be used?
If yes, how do I do the customizing which would enable me to see all in WEB UI?

Hi Raghavendran,
I am facing the same problem. Other than Appointments,Tasks,Email and Interaction record I cannot create any other Activities.
I defined a new Transaction type assigned the category Misc but cannot create the Activity on WEBUI. As Raja suggested I have also assigned the Channel as WEBUI and ICWEBCLIENT but still does not work. Is there any Role specific customization that needs to be performed?
Please let me know if your issue is resolved and how you resolved it.

Hi Bahar,
have a look into the ume directory. There is a file called sapum.properties.bak.
Edit the file and check if the entry for ume.supersuer.activated (or similar) is set to true.
Rename the file to sapum.properties and restart the portal

Again: Switching a whole system to Unicode isnt just to "switch it on". You have to prepare your abap code, build up a sandbox, examine every interface you have.
There is no switch. Its a process which will take a mimunum of 3 month in preparation.

Automatic saving of actual end-time when saving an activity in SAP CRM

Dear SAP Experts,
is it possible by standard when saving an activity that the end-time of the activity is the moment when document is saved the first time?
Within the Date Profile '000000000001' it is possible to define the duration 'A_PLANTOTAL' 3 minutes but I want to have the exact time when saving the document for the first time.
Is that possible by Standard? I am seeing the problem that when document is changed and reopened again that endtime will change again.

Help, How can I split an activity in SAP-PS

Trying to split an activity in a project, cannot find any information on how to do it. (fonctionality is available in MS-Project, new user to SAP-PS)
Situation:
Activity starts and after 4days, it is put on hold for 5days and then restarts. How do you show this in the planning board?

That's not a supported function of the calendar on iOS. I believe it is because iOS syncs directly with the Exchange Server using Active Sync. I could be wrong, but I don't believe ActiveSync supports this feature (thus, it's not actually a missing feature in iOS, it's a missing feature in ActiveSync, which is a Microsoft product).
BB uses an intermediary service and does not sync directly between the device and the Exchange server.

To avoid downtime during Check disk activity in SAP servers

Due to errors in logical drives , often this CHKDSK activity has been carried out in SAP servers which require a downtime for carrying out this task. Could any one suggest if we can run this activity without any downtime or any alternatives/proactive measures can be done ? Please help on this.

How to check if cen is activated in sap

I need to do a procedure that depends on the use of a central monitoring system (CEN); for that I need to know how can i check if my netweaver 7.0 system has CEN activated or not!

To my or any ones knowledge since netweaver 2004 CEN is default.
RZ21--> activate background dispatching will create a btc job to collect the ccms statistics. but you'll need to install and configure ccms agents in the remote systmes for you to be able to monitor the remote systems in the CEN.

How can I tell if a company code is still active in SAP or not ?

Hi
Is there some table or other data I can consult to tell whether a company code is active or not in SAP.
If a company code is inactive is there some kind of flag or end date applied to the company code that allows me to see that it is inactive in SAP/
Any information on this would be gratefullly received.

Are there any transactions that I can use for this that are more HR driven only I do not have access to the others. I do have view access to a number of tables via SE16N and could perhaps try and get some other access but just wondering if there is anything else that could be used for HR to check.

CCMS Activation for SAP XI

I implemented a simple File to IDOC scenario with SAP XI 7.0 for SAP ECC 6.0 system.
Now I set up Business Process Monitoring within SAP Solution Manager.
There I can monitor the Interface Monitoring.
Here I am able to give Application Monitor, CCMS Monitor, Analyse & Monitoring Tools, Monitoring Activities.
Question:
What are the steps to activate CCMS monitoring for SAP XI?
What is the CCMS path to monitor the XI messages from SXI_MONITOR?
