Activation of transfer Rule not available: Help Sought

Hi All,
I have encountered error in loading data due to
dataSource not having the same status as the source system in the Business Information Warehouse. There is a timestamp difference. The recommended solution in HELP was to replicate the datasource again and activate the transfer rules.... I have done the prescribed replication but have not been succesful in activating the transfer rules. The activate button is disabled. I tried to delete the transfer rule and assigned it again. But still the activate button is disabled?

Hi,
Replicate the datasource first. Then once you are done with that. Run the program RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL in SE38. You will get a selection screen . Give the Source system name and the infosource name execute. This would activate your transfer rule. We use this in the production enviornment.

Hi,
Dont understand why are you activating the transfer rules in production system directly.
We normally activate objects in development system and transport to quality and production environment.
if you are trying to activate the transfer rules directly then you need to check if all the dependent objects are collected and activated in BI system.
Looking at the error message i feel that curreny field is missing in the transfer rules ... Just read the datasource fields and see if there are any fields missing related to currency.

This is Venkat, unable to activate Transfer rules.It doesnot Showing any errors while activating the Transfer rules and also in the DISPLAY LOGS.But while trying to transfer the field(0crm_guid)from assignInfoobjct-field by using propose transfer rules spindle to Communication str/Transfer rules it was not allow this field to transfer into the transfer rules.After activating it was showing the message Transferstuctute was activated.

it seems the transfer rules not transport.
try in dev, change transfer rules,
and from menu extras (beside go to) -> object directory entry -> transfer rules -> in next screen, check if package/development class is $TMP, click pencil icon, and choose your package/dev class, system will prompt request, create new request and transport.
if package/dev class isn't $TMP, try following,
rsa1->transport connection->left panel choose 'object type' and middle panel 'infosource' and 'select objects', and choose '0fi_ar_4' and 'transfer', then you will see 0fi_ar_4 in right panel, we will use this infosource to collect transfer rules.
you may need to specify the source system assignment in transport connection when collecting objects, click 'source system assignment' and make sure your r/3 source system is marked.
choose collection mode 'manual' and grouping 'in dataflow before', and 'execute', after objects collection finished, expand the infosource and make sure your transfer rules and datasources are there and marked. click transport (truck icon).
also make sure you maintain the source system mapping in TARGET system (QAS), rsa1->tools->source system mapping (tcode rslgmp), fill 'orgsrcsys' with r/3 dev and 'trgsrcsys' with r/3 QAS, do the same for BW Prod with r/3 qas for 'orgsrcsys' and r/3 prod for 'trgsrcsys'.

Failure while activating the transfer rules

While activating the transfer rules, in that process when the system is trying to activating the transfer structure an error is occuring.
Following is the error log.

Every time when I try to activate the transfer rules, it generates a new table "/BIC/B000xxxxxxx".
Let me know if any more details required.
Though there is a SAP Notes(513758) with Symptom which is same as our problem, its of not much use. It only says search for other SAP Notes with KeyWords from error log. We couldn't find a relavant SAP Notes sofar.
Please guide us in resolving the issue.

Hi Aswani,
To further prevent this from occuring, you should assign a BASIS person to monitor the BW system using tcode DB02 and watch out for critical objects prior loading process. That way, this error could have been prevented.
You can also device a way to predict which table spaces are needed to adjusted on a scheduled basis based on your actual data growth.

Conversion exit error while activating the transfer rules

Hello gurus,
We are doing a function module extraction with 3.X data sources.
On activating the transfer rules , i am getting a conversion exit error for "0fiscyear", but in the infoobject we don't have the conversion exit for it.

1. Please check in the transformation, its necessary to provide the fiscal variant mapping as well when ur mapping fiscal year object. as on the basis of that value fiscal period will be derived.
2 I guess ur doing direct mapping (Time conversion) and there is no routine written for that. if any u can check that as well for any error.

I'm still getting that same message how did you fix it? i installed the wmv player or Flip4Mac (i'm unsure if thats the same program), but even after i am still getting the pop up saying " The movie ____.avi" can't be opened. What am i doing wrong?

Tried to update to IOS6 and now my ipad is trying to restore -- getting error "activation server not available" help! Have I lost all my video files?

I was trying to do a simple udate of the ios software. I connected to ITunes and the Ipad screen popped up saying there was an update available. I clicked on the update and it started updating and also there was a message saying it was backing up. But then I got a message to click here to complete the update -- with a restore. I did that and now my IPad is n ot woking at all -- I get the initial startup screen and a message that says "your ipad cannot be activated because the activation server is not available" I've tried connecting to itunes and get the same message -- server not available. The devices menu option is grayed out so I cant sync, backup,, restore nothing.... HELP! please! I only wanted to do a simple update -- now I think I've lost all my pictures and video files -- is there a way to get them back??

Try restarting everything and then try to sync or reactivate. Quit iTunes, reboot your computer, reboot your iPad and then try again.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

Transfer Rules not Activating when transported to QAS.

Folks:
We are on BW 3.5.
I have transported and activated the datasource in BW QAS.
But the Transfer rules are not activated in QAS.
I have transported the info-pakge successfully.
When I try to activate the transfer rules manually in QAS I get the following error message:
You do not have permission to create table /BIC/B0000116000
Message no. DT097
Is there a authorization issue here that is affecting the replication of the datasource?

I forgot to mention that the datasource is 0DIVISION_TEXT.
We are on BW 3.5.
I have transported and activated the datasource in BW QAS.
But the Transfer rules are not activated in QAS.

I generated a generic datasource the fields from r/3 are:-vbeln,erdat,netwr,waerk. when i wanted to activate the transfer rules and transfer structure then this error comes :-

when i cheked in service.sap.com then they are saying install support pak 4 for 3.5
but we are already using sp 17 for 3.5

Please check following
1. Check on your R/3 source system first RSA1-> Source system-> right click on your R/3 system and Check
2. try Restore in same menuu for your R/3 system
3. Replicate the datasource
4. Now manually activate the transfer rules
5. still if it is a problem then in SE38 tcode run the program RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL

Transfer rules not availble in Business content

Hi,
In process of installting Purchasing module related business content I am facing problem with Transfer rules. I have activated all datsources related to Purchasing module in R/3 side and replicated in BW .
Except for 2 datsources all other replicated properly. the datasources 2lis_02_itm and 2lis_02_hdr replicated and are in modified version. why they are not in active verion. can anyone help me in this??
and when i go to business content only infosurce, communication structure are available for this datasources and transfer rules are not available. I tried the option sof delting the datsource and replicating again, activating the source system etc. and replicating it number of times.but nothing worked.
and another issue is when I replicated it didnt propmpt me anythng to selct the option of replciate in 3.x or 7.0 version.
Request anybody's help in this to get the transfer rules.

Hello,
Install the business content for purhcasing properly in BI7.
If you install 2LIS_02_ACC for eg.. you will see... Cube/DSO-Transformation(TRCS)-Infosource-Transformation(RSDS)-datasource.
Sometimes the TRCS or RSDS will be inactive after installing... check the start routine of the transformation and correct accordingly..
Let us know how it goes..

Two issues: activation of transfer rules and data load performance

I have two problems I face very often and would like to get some more info on that topics:
1. Transfer rules activation. I just finished transport my cubes, ETL etc. on productive system and start filling cubes with data. Very often during data load it occurs that transfer rules need to be activated even if I transport them active and (I think) did not do anything after transportation. Then I again create transfer rules transports on dev, transport changes on prod and have to execute data load again.
It is very annoying. What do you suggest to do with this problem? Activate all transfer rules again before executing process chain?
2. Differences between dev and prod systems in data load time.
On dev system (copy of production made about 8 months ago) I have checked how long it takes me to extract data from source system and it was about 0,5h for 50000 records but when I executed load on production it was 2h for 200000 records, so it was twice slower than dev!
I thought it will be at least so fast as dev system. What can influence on data load performance and how I can predict it?

1 How freequently this activation problem occurs. If it is one time replicate the datasource and activate thetransfer structure( But in general as you know activation of transfer structure should be done automatically after transport of the object)
2 One thing for difference of time is environmental as you know in production system so many jobs will run at the same time so obiously system performance will be slow compare to Dev System. In your case both the systems are performing equally. You said in dev system for 50000 records half an hour and in production 200000 records 2hrs so records are more in Production system and it took longer time. If it is really causing problem then you have to do some performance activities.

Active Directory server is not available

i have just setup and started testing a new exchange 2007 on my network. we did not have a exchange before, so this is a new install.
my domain, xxx.com is a windows 2000 native AD. the exchange 2007 is a win 2003 sp1 x64, it is also a DC and has all roles assigned to it
in my network i have
dc01 win2000 sp4 dc (gc)
dc02 win2000 sp4 dc (gc)
exch01 win 2003 sp1 dc, rid, pdc, fmso, gc, infrastucture and naming
the install went well, and i have been testing it for the past 2 weeks this dummy accounts. test smtp connectors, etc. all was working fine. to the point that i have started planing the migration of the users
today i did some mods to IIS for a owa free SSL from startcom (as well as the root CAs). i have remove it since.
i now get the following errors when i start the console, or shell. :
Active Directory server exch01.xxx.com is not available. Error message: A local error occurred.
It was running command 'get-ExchangeAdministrator'.

(over all i like what i have been seeing in ex2007)

i think that you might be confusing "AD user account" and "profile". you DO NOT delete administrator from your AD Users and Computers. you only delete the Profile (\documents and settings\administrator folder). you can NOT do this while you are logged on using the administrator account.
be sure to backup any data in your my documents and any favorites
create another user that is in the domain admin group of your active directory, log on with that account and verify that the exchange tools works. then follow this to remove the profile.
>1). Logon the Exchange server by using another admin account.
>2). Open Control Panel, select System.
>3). Select Advanced tab and click the Settings button of User Profile.
>4). Delete the Profile of user which encounters this issue.
>5). Click OK.
>6). Restart the server and logon it by using Administrator account.

once this is done, logon with your administrator account and try the tools again, they should work.tn
