Activation - old computer is gone...

We are a non-profit with a version of CS2 that is has a few licences - I think we are allowed to install it on up to three computers.
The problem we have is that we installed it on two computers that we no longer use. In fact, one of them crashed and we no longer have it at all. How can I install CS2 and activate it without de-activating the license on the computer that is gone?

While the license allow two activations the purpose is to allow A SINGLE
USER to work in the office and offsite such as on a laptop or at home.
If you've installed on two office machines to allow two or more people
to use the same license you are violating the EULA.
If the above is inaccurate then call Adobe and explain the situation.
They'll reset the activation counter for you.

iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848 - just media purchased from iTunes Store
i-devices are intended to by synced with iTunes (iTunes --> device), not transfer things to iTunes.  For transferring songs from i-device to computer see commercial software utilities (with the exception of iTunes purchases). • .how do i get my i pod touch music onto my new computer.  my old computer is gone?

I want to transfer my i pod touch music to my new computer.  My old computer is gone.

Plug it in and sync it.
It will erase everything from the ipod so make sure that you have copied everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one first.

How can I transfer music from nano to a new computer?  Old computer is gone.

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer files/docs/pics/music/etc.
Use your backup copy to put everything on the new computer.
If for some reason you have failed to backup ( not good), then you can transfer itunes purchases from your ipod.  Without syncing:  File>Transfer Purchases

    For iTunes purchases...
Connect the iPod to your computer, launch iTunes.
From the iTunes menu bar top of your screen click File > Transfer Purchases From...
Now right or control click the iPod then click Eject.
    Now connect the iPhone.
Select the iPhone under Devices left side of the iTunes window.
    Select Music from the menu.
    Select Sync Music

Am I just out of luck for getting what is on my iPod onto my new computer? Unfortunately I have a number of things besides iTunes purchases on there.
If so, what are my options?  Having to buy a new ipod and beginning anew from this point forward?

  • How to transfer library when old computer gone and old iPod gone

I recently got a new iPod Nano (lost the old one). I transferred some songs from my library to the iPod but not all the ones I want now.  Then my old laptop died completely--no access to library. I can SEE the old songs on iTunes. How do I transfer them to new computer if the old computer is gone? This is driving me crazy!

I wonder if you might know how to answer this somewhat related question: I, unfortunately, copied my iTunes music library onto an external hard drive before I read about the consolidating option. Stupidly, I then did the consolidation. Now I have each song listed twice in my library and one of each is an orphan, so I have to manually locate each one. That's a lot of music! Is there a way to undo my stupidity?

  • Old computer died - can only get recently purchased music on ipod nano

    Hi,
My old laptop packed in suddenly, had no back up, my fault.  I downloaded itunes on my new laptop and was happy to see that although cd's I had put on my old computer were gone, I still had music which I had purchased from itunes.  However, when plugging my ipod nano in (2nd generation), the only music which it gives me the option of putting on is music which I have recently purchased, using my new laptop.
On looking at a few other forums I thought I should restore my nano and then maybe I could transfer all music, not just the new items, but no.  Still only comes up with the 28 songs…even though in my itunes library I have several more.  So now I have next to no music as everything got deleted when I restored the nano.  I have clicked the “sync music” and “entire music library” to no avail.  Still only the recent songs.  Please help me.  I know I’ll have to put my cds back on (and will back up this time)..but surely I should be able to get the music I have already paid for through itunes?
Any help appreciated, hope this is enough info,
    Cheers
    KC

Got the info from this link (also pasted the answer for you directly below): http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=60920#faq5
Question: I have a computer at home and one at work. Can I update my iPod music collection from more than one computer?
Answer: Yes. When you first connect iPod to your computer, iPod recognizes that computer as its "home" computer. Each time you connect, iPod automatically downloads the music library stored on it. When you connect iPod to a different computer, iTunes will inform you that iPod is linked to a different iTunes library and will ask whether you wish to erase iPod's contents and sync with the new computer's library. If you will be connecting to multiple computers frequently, configure your iPod to manually manage music. This will allow you to selectively drag songs, albums, or playlists from the second computer to your iPod without compromising the existing music.
Synchronization generally occurs only in one direction, from your computer to your iPod. This means you typically cannot transfer music, automatically or manually, from your iPod to a computer, and you cannot use iPod to copy a music library from one computer to another. An exception to this is the transfer purchases feature which allows you to restore purchased iTunes content to your computer from your iPod. Additionally, if you legally are allowed to copy music or other media files, you can configure your iPod as a storage drive to move media files.

  • Activating Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional on new computer when old computer died and cannot deactivate

My computer died with acrobat professional 8 installed. When I tried to install and activate acrobat 8 professional on my new computer, it would not activate until I deactivated the software on my old computer. My old computer is completely dead and therefore I cannot deactivate the software. Please advise me.

Customer service is terrible. They don't give us the tools to help ourselves, so we are FORCED to call their service number. Then we get transferred 3 times, then disconnected - just to have to repeat the process again. Adobe recorded phone messages advises "due to high call volume, estimated wait time is 12 minutes". An HOUR AND A HALF later while still waiting on hold, I get disconnected.
I've tried the customer portal. They CLOSED my case without resloving anything or even commenting!
Where is Adobe's accountability?  They don't mind charging high prices for their products, and they certainly wouldn't accept me telling them they'll have to call my 800# and wait on hold in order to get their payment. But once we purchase their products we are a prisoner of this process. There is no web interface to deactivate products. Hard drive crashes do not permit the manual deactivation on our end.
Adobe needs to either answer their phone without disconnecting me, answer their case number number without closing it for no reason, or give us - the customer - the tools to deactivate our own products. If activation can be done over the internet upon installation - then deactivation can't be much more difficult.
I honestly can't imagine how it can be legal to sell a product then cripple an owner from using it.

  • I have just gone through the start upo process for a new iMac and skipped the section to upload data from my old computer from an external hard drive. How do I do this now?

I have just gone through the start-up on my new imac and opted to skip the bit where I sync / upload info from my old computer which is on a My Passport external hard drive. I would like to do this now. How do I? Thanks.

Hello. I would like to activate my CS3 Educational Program (version 2007) on my new computer. Unfortunatly he is not accepting my serial number. What can I do? I have delated the program on my old computer but it doesn't accept the activation on the new laptop.

Make sure you are using the  correct serial number.  Find your serial number quickly
If you did not deactivate the original installation then it is possible your two allowed activations have been used and you need to reset your activation count.  To do that you need to contact Adobe Support thru chat and ask them to reset your activations.  If you ask for more than that they will tell you they cannot offer you any support.
For the link below click the Still Need Help? option in the blue area at the bottom and choose the chat option...
