Activation problems with unlocked iphone 5
Hi all I unlocked an iphone 5 and I used an at&t SIM to activate the phone but then when I put my tmobile SIM in it says I have to activate again. When I remove my SIM the message goes away. Ideas???
I have unlocked and used iphone 5's before. Never had this problem.

i got my phone on the vodafone network in uk, also they are the ones who unlocked my iphone 5 for me by contacting apple and my phone was unlocked, at the time i checked 4 different uk sim cards in my phone and were all working fine, then i had problem with my iphone kept crashing so took it in to a apple store in uk and the exchanged my iphone for me.
when phone had been exchanged in apple store they gave me unlocked phone, how i know this my carrier is vodafone uk, and i have used my uk t-mobile sim card in there and was working fine, and currently using giffgaff uk sim card which runs on the uk o2 network telefonica. works perfectly fine.
it is now that i am in colombia and inserted sim card from clara previously known as comcel colombia,
and it said - ACTIVATION REQUIRED - when it states that i can see full signal bars for reception and also see the 3G sign.
then states either choose wifi signal or use mobile connection.
i can choose either and have choosen boh options an it states
only compataible sim cards from a supported carrier maybe used to activate iphone. please insert the sim card that came with your iphone
so strange when i can use all uk sim cards in my phone and has been tested by me myself -
Problems With Unlocking iphone
Im having Trouble unlocking my iphone, Just paided to have it unlocked, they told me to sync with itunes, and then it should permently be unlocked.
well im having trouble connecting my phone to my itunes, it says; The phone cannot be used because it requires the update 10.6.3
Ive updated it and still doesnt work how do i get it to unlock?It should say 10.something. Like 10.1, etc. If it does not you need to use your browswer and download and install a new version of iTunes.

Problems with unlocking Iphone 5c
I just got a new iphone 5c and i created a passcode for it, and for some reason, it's telling me the password is wrong. I'm 100% sure it's the right one. I havent backed up my iphone to itunes before, so i dont know how to reset it. Any suggestions?
The only way to get passed the passcode is to put the phone into forced recovery mode and restore it. You can plug it into itunes and see if it will let you backup the phone first. If not then you can check iCloud.com to see if there is any info stored there, such as contacts and such.
Use article TS3281 http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3281 to put the phone into forced recovery mode and restore.

i have an activation problem with my iphone 3gs. i updated the software to io6 using itunes but now the phone will not complete activation because it keeps saydin the activation server is not available and to re try later. ive been trying for 6 hours but it still wont activate. if i try using itunes then it sayd no sim inserted when there is one inserted, what can i do?
You are right, but how could i send it to Apple? when the phone company first replaced my iphone they had in stock alots of iphones and they just sent mine back to Apple and gave me a new one, so all i did is to give them my phone, but now how could i sent it to Apple? and i cant send it by myself, and the store wont do that, its a lost for them.. so sending it to Apple wasnt an option from the begining.
and for the record, i dont think the store where i bought it is an authorized shop.. its just a store who boughts phone's from Apple in a low price and sells it in much more money.. -

I have a problem with my iphone 4. My 3G always stays activated but I lose my network signal. The bars all get lost and I'm not able to receive / send sms, mms or phone calls. Could you guys please help me fix this problem? Ios 5.1.1
I haven't gotten a new sim card because the problem has been presenting itself in various cards not only mine. So far, all I've done is reset my network settings.
Last night, I turned off the 3G tab and it had all the signal bars. Today, I did the network reset and it's working apparently. But like I said before, previously the bars just disappear and the iphone only has the 3G activated. -

If you carefully follow all of the instructions in this tip and none of them restore WiFi then your radio chip has failed and you need to get the phone replaced by Apple. -

I have a problem with my iphone 4s's activation. After upgrading IOS 7.0.4 the activation required me an account icloud.com with password that i forgot... it is not my usualy apple ID (wherewith i have activate my iphone)!
Right now i haven't yet complited de activation, how can i risolve it??? thanksThis is called Activation Lock, & there is no way around it. To re-activate this phone, you MUST use the Apple ID/Password that was originally used to activate the phone. If you don't know this info, you WILL NOT be able to re-activate this phone. It will be useless, & Apple can't/won't help you.
Resetting your phone, as suggested by Rahul won't help either. If you forgot your Apple ID, you can use this:

Regardless, you'll have to remember this info. Otherwise, all you'll own is a paperweight. -

You will not be able to access the device without the account activate lock password. IF you have the receipt and other proof of purchase you may have sucess with contacting apple and asking them for assistance. Depending gretaly on how much proof of purchase you have.

Problems with my iPhone 3g remains in spite of 2.0.2 would a restore help??
Hey I have several problems with my iPhone, all of which i would have thought would dissappear as Apple updated the firmware, but it hasn´t so far.
My problems are that the keyboard is lagging every fifth time that I use it, the letters appear about 1 second after i pressed the key on the keyboard. It happens when I am writing SMS as well as E-mails.
The contacts app takes about 4 seconds to start, and when I am scrolling it is lagging quite a bit.
When I listen to music it suddenly stops, even if I haven´t touched it, then I have to press play to get it to start again. If it use the volume buttons to turn the sound up or down it also sometimes stops the music. When i recieve calls, mails or messages the music fades down, but afterwards it doesn´t start again. It only starts when I "wake up" the phone and unlock it.
Last but not least the 3g signal is really not that stable and often turns back to edge.
I have read lots of posts where people talk about how the newer firmware updates have resolved most of their problems, but I haven´t experienced any changes after I have updated. It almost seems like it doesn´t really "notice" the new firmware.
I have been thinking about doing a restore, but if I use the latest back-up it would most likely have the same issues as now right?
If I do a complete restore and delete everything I will have to spend a lot of time getting all the content back on the phone and I don´t know if it will help at all.
My question is if anyone here have the same problems as me, if they don´t notice any differences after updating the firmware as well?
On top of that I would like to know if anyone here have experienced any positive effects of doing a full restore? Has it helped resolving any of your problems?
Thanx a lotOn 2.0.2 with a full restore. Still experiencing all of the issues you mention except the iPod related stuff.
I am really losing patience with apple and their silence about all of these problems.
Not sure how much longer I am willing to put up with it before i send it back. -
Alright, I'm having two annoying problems with my iPhone. It's an iPhone 4.
I'm using the latest iOS.
The first problem is that when I get a notification (a mail, text message, whatever), I hear the sound that it makes, but the screen doesn't light up. Then, when I click the home or the turn-on / off button (basically when I'm in the lock menu), it doesn't show the notification either. Yet, in the notification settings, I've set up to show them. For example mails. I just received a few mails. For mail, I've selected the banner in the notification center. But I see no banner. I see nothing in fact. I can unlock my phone and go in mail, and see the mail there.
What could be the reason for this? I've recently done some changes on it, I mean, not exactly on the iPhone, but in iTunes. I removed all photos from my iPhone (over 3000) and all songs that were on it. I decided to sync only the latest 3 months of photos and 3 months of music. I don't think it's related but it's the last thing I've done with it, and since then this has been happening, so I thought I'd mention it.
My second problem is that, while I was updating my music and photo library on my iPhone, I also synced all app updates. I have around 6 or 7 of them, lurking there for a while, and I never got the time to download them in iTunes and sync them with my iPhone. So that's what I did as well. Strangely enough, when I visit the App Store app, under Updates, it still tells me I have 5 apps to update. I remember one I updated on the iPhone itself.
They're all listed there with the little bar that shows up when it's loading, except it isn't loading. It's just stuck there, at the very beginning. No, not even at the beginning, because the blue little bar that moves forward isn't even present.The also show up this way on my iPhone "desktop" (Home), and it says "Waiting..." below them.
I've tried syncing again, and also restarting the iPhone, but it didn't help. Anyone know what's wrong here?
